they are really busy also love how everyone love malaysian food. i have the Wah Tan Hor, they made it pretty quick, the flavour was there. but im sure hey can do better.

Shockingly good. Food court food can be a bit hit and miss but I’ll definitely be coming back here again. Everything we ordered was flavourful and cooked perfectly. Highly recommend!

A bit disappointed about the lack of halal and vegetarian food on offer for a Malaysian restaurant, but understand that it is managed by Chinese. Having said that, the food is excellent and commendable and the service, if one can talk about such in a food court, is friendly.

Reliable source of tasty laksa. Rich Thick mildly spicy soup and noodles. Chicken and seafood options good. Generous serves.

REASONABLY GOOD AND AUTHENTIC MALAYSIAN CUISINE BUT SLOW SERVICE
Update 23 December 2020
Food now served in plastic bowls and disposable cutlery due to covid. Laksa soup and noodles provided separately and not quite the same as preasembled dish:(
This place is a very popular choice in the Emporium food court and has typically Malaysian dishes.
Food quality is good and the serving size is quite generous.
My favourite is char kway teow. The menu offers only seafood version but they are happy to make the beef version that I prefer.
Laksa is good. Roti is tasty and flaky.
I eat there infrequently because it takes so long for them to prepare your meal... This is a double edged sword because the individual preparation that takes time also means its better tasting than food kept in a bain marie!
The food court is always really crowded on weekends so you may struggle to find a table. Fortunately the outlet provides you with a buzzer to let you know when your food is ready so you can use the time you need to wait for the food productively looking for a table!

Delicious Chicken Laksa and nice Char Kway Teow. The roti was decent but the peanut sauce was quite oily. I wish the CKT had more Char but good for indoor food court.

The Emporium is a big place and finding the food court can be a mission. But when you do, you’ll be glad to find a haven like Chinta Ria Soul.
Located in the food court in the Emporium, this is one place where you definitely need to get there before the rush. Or… just have some patience.
We were lucky. Even though we made it during the afternoon lunch hour, we managed to get seats. What’s even better, is that was the best place for Char Keow Teow in the city. Junior Tan, may finally have competition. May.
The ingredients were fresh, even if the noodles tasted a bit like they were from a packet. The freshness of the prawns and the crunchiness of the vegetables made this a true delight. And to top it off, it was just over $10. Of course, the wait is a killer, but if you can bear to wait the 20 minutes then you can enjoy some really healthy. Having said that, the service could do with a smile and a “thank you for waiting”. Once again, it was the company of people I kept for lunch that saved me. Remember how I said Junior Tan, may have competition? Well, it doesn’t. I would much rather eat at a less than fresh location that had excellent service. Go there to try it once, but don’t go back. Save yourself the trouble.

My new favourite place for char koay teow. Always buzzing and full of customers and can be quite difficult to find a spot to sit as it is located in a food court. The dish I ordered here originally is seafood based but you can ask to substitute it for beef. It is a value for money and a great place to visit for Malaysian dishes.

Ordered Seafood Laksa and loved it. The soup's flavour is just balanced and not too spicy. Served in a medium bowl. Didn't wait long.
C. L.
Ordered the popular Sing Mai noodle dish. They were happy to make it vegan for me but considering that it's the same price as the original version (chicken and prawns) it would be reasonable to include either tofu/tempeh/mushrooms instead of just green vegetables.

Curry Laksa and Roti ... delicious flavours!!! Great value for money and timely served during the lunch time rush.
F. M.
Curry puffs are to die for!!! Their chicken absolutely melts in your mouth and their roti is cooked to perfection. Will definitely be eating here again!
M. O.
Ordered the roti chicken curry, was absolutely delicious, chicken was very tender. Will be back for sure.

I love the Food & Service at Chinta Ria Soul Emporium Melbourne. It’s awesome.
1.
Why not update your Specials chalkboard e.g. Sweet n sour fish. Add "with rice" word on board. to max sales?
2.
Love the Unique Yeo's grass jelly drink. Love the yummy and flavorsome Chicken wing which are juicy on the inside. The skin is crispy. Sauce is sedap. Well presented in "v" shape sia like Fighter Plane - woohoo. SEDAP SIA!!!!!!
3.
The Fried Chicken Image Sign in stuck to the table in a hard to see spot. Why not relocate the sign to Cashier machine so its higher and facing the customer just like McDonald's? People buy more of your delicious chicken to max your money.

Love eating here. The Laksa is very tasty, also love the Ipoh noodles and many of the other dishes on offer. Reliable, dependable and always consistent. Will always walk to the Emporium for this place when we do our shopping at Vic Markets on a Sunday.

Eaten a lot of indo food but the taste depth and flavours of this food is amazing. Far superior to most food court food. And value is also fantastic with very generous serving sizes
T. H.
Having been a frequent visitor to Malaysia over the years with the RAAF, I’ve searched low and high for a decent roti and curry sauce - and these guys have nailed it! Great Malay and Indon foods. Excellent!
E. M.
Quick Asian comfort food. Always come here for laksa . However the soup has become more soupy than the past and lost its kick... and what’s more criminal they now hide the sambal. Still for a quick laksa hit in hurry still hits the spot.

I have eaten here a few times now when visiting Melbourne and have always found that the food is always tasty and fresh and the meat tender. The service is quick and polite, only small disappointment is that you tend to get a smaller portion when they are busy.
J. T.
Average Malaysian food in emporium. The meegoren was too sweet, didn't really like that dish. The char kwai teo was good though. Reasonably priced and quick service.
D. K.
sadly unable to enjoy lunch there today, perhaps next weekend

Meals are always really fresh and tasty. Roti Chicken is my favourite but the Laksa, Noodles, Nasi and other Roti are all great.
R. L.
Great fried rice. Must try!!

Nasi goreng a bit dry. Not particularly tasty/flavoursome. Also heads up there is no water station/tap water available

Great spot for Indonesian/Malay cuisine. Authentic flavours and reasonably priced too

This eatery is the only one with a cucina which cooks a lovely fish fillet dish and that at a fair price in my opinion!
