Friendly welcoming staff, good food and appropriately priced. We had brunch one morning and the Eggs bene was near perfect and both iced teas were beautiful. Dinner the following day we had antipasto which was pleasant but could be better, Greek lamb pizza was delicious and large gin cocktail jug was well made. Great marquee area with big screen to watch the tennis with spray fans if too hot. Very relaxed and would recommend

Great menu, ordering system bit tricky to negotiate, just wanted a standard coffee which came just warm nowhere to order just ordinary temperature, trust your barista not weird online system. Don’t really see staff, as they just drop things and go. Tasty food so good overall experience.

Pretty pricey for what you get. I ordered the 'Full Monty' breakfast, and it was fairly average at best. Bacon was dry and the beans were kinda sad. Hash browns were good tho. Nice outdoor seating area as well.

Great setting, indoor and outdoor. Big screen TV playing sports. Other TV screens also play the same sport so no variety. Good menu choice. Order via QR code from table. Wait time is pretty good for both drinks and food. Staff friendly. Only downfall...pretty pricey and sitting outside, quite a few very friendly mice that are not shy of you.

Did the Sunday bottomless brunch and honestly this was the best experience ever. Operations manager Terry was the friendliest and most hilarious staff I’ve ever interacted with. He was so accomodating, so kind, so funny, and the food was exquisite! Highly recommend this place.

Ive been here a few times for private events. Its an easy walk from the DFO car park and MCEC. The Common Man has amazing views across the Yarra River and you get a fantastic city skyline backdrop view from the riverside garden area. Its the perfect place to meet, friends and colleagues after a busy day for catch ups. The staff, service and food is 👌

We didn't have much set out for expectations tonight, apart from wanting a steak and something snacky. Most of the restaurants and pubs were super full and Common Man was literally the last spot on the list and so we took a gamble. I will say it definitely paid off. Whilst I couldn't finish my nachos (curse the full stomach from a burger earlier in the day) the cocktails were delicious. The steak that my counter part looked yummy as and pretty well priced as well. The deep fried cauliflower was also something I initially didnt blink at but I'm glad we ordered it as that was super good as well. Would recommend 👍

Dropped in for a quick feed and ordered the Schnitzel with a Coopers XPA. Schnitzel was pretty good, nicely sized and the potato salad was a nice touch. The chicken could have been a little more succulent and the rocket salad was a bit of nothing but overall a pretty decent meal. The place itself is very well laid out with a huge beer garden. Had the NFL playing when I was there and would be a good place to drop in when the cricket is on during a hot arvo...

The place is quite average - they do cook almost everything from a breakfast menu to a night-out snack, serve drinks from coffee to vodka. But they just don't do anything exceptionally good. The design is pretty, also it's not crowded comparatively to other places close by.

Today was our third visit to common man since lockdown ended. We love the mobile ordering and pay as you go, perfect in a group and no waiting to flag down a server for your order. Food is always good, cocktail jugs are yummy. Highly recommended!

We went last night for my friend’s birthday dinner, I booked a table online and I am glad I did because even though it was a Friday, it was really busy. The service was wonderful and the food was amazing. We had dim sum to start followed by several different dishes and everything was gorgeous. The decor is quirky and inviting and we immediately felt comfortable. I love that the menu is quite small and uncomplicated. We chose several starter dishes and two main dishes, which was plenty to fill us up - This is not your “run of the mill” Aussie food. Everything is cooked fresh and you can taste the difference in comparison to some other restaurants The price was very reasonable too, we were a party of 6 and it was just over $50 a head including our drinks. The food was excellent and unusually the menu was concise with enough choice to satisfy most tastes and the mains faultless. All in all a very pleasant meal. The atmosphere was great along with the decor, thank you for a lovely evening, we will be back soon! It’s really great to visit you and we will surely come back again.

I am a regular who is unfortunately only giving 3 stars The barista girls are always so friendly and the new English guy is great also Unfortunately - it’s the bartender on Friday evening with the beard who gave extremely rude service 😔 I had come to the bar to check where the drinks were as we only had 20 minutes but I said it really nicely and said I would wait as I could see it was on the way as I was happy to He said to go back to my seat as I can’t pick them up and I said no biggie I’ll wait - and he was arguing with me that I can’t pick them up apparently due to Covid? I had already signed in and was wearing my mask - then - he takes my straw and the place where I put my mouth he touches - so I got myself another one as I’m funny about that - and he threw it out and took another one, and I got myself another one as well this time of course annoyed What was the point of throwing away the straw I put in my own drink? It ended up wasting 3 straws. He obviously was looking for a fight for some reason. Also - people these days are super concerned about Corona but not about hygiene apparently - or customer service I’ll be back - but will avoid him ! I don’t understand how people who hate people work in customer service... I work in it and wouldn’t dream of treating people that way - and no - I was not a rude or difficult customer so I didn’t deserve that

Such a hipster place to be. I could eat here every day. The staff are friendly and the food is to die for. Selections from everyday basics through to delicious original dishes. They’re all prepared quite quickly too. Even two years after the original review, the food was delicious. Ok. Ordered a Korean Fried Chicken burger. Not really good actually. It wasn't fried chicken. The bun was a little burnt. Huxtaburger is way better. Also had some pizza which was Ok but only Ok. Just dropped in for coffee this morning.. Coffee was nice tasting( no sugar needed,)that makes it very enjoyable. Cappuccino(I suspect other varieties as well) is correctly made. No boiling or burnt milk used - no burnt tongue or mouth.Also they have a cheaper small size coffee before 11am.(bonus) Ambience, very layback, casual newspapers available(Or bring your own). We enjoyed the hour spent there in front of fire reading & drinking coffee.

Went to South Wharf previously and was pretty disappointed. This time around, we decided to try again down the other end, and was equally disappointed. We had two parmas, both of which where overcooked. I get that they do pizzas and burgers, that's great, but if you're going to put something on the menu, please know how to cook it... Clearly the schnitzels were cooked and then put in the pizza oven to melt the cheese. That's how it's supposed to happen if you don't have another over or a grill, I get that, but the parmas came out brown and dry, vastly overcooked. Not nice at all. Serving staff were really polite, but run off their feet for a Wednesday night. I get that you're not supposed to be that busy during the week, but this was clearly a moment they could have improved. We ordered dessert at 7:18, at which point they'd run out of one of their four desserts, being the apple pie, which sounded great. Fell back on the flour-less chocolate cake and the sticky date pudding. It arrived after 30 mins, which was a bit worrying, seeing as we only waited about fifteen minutes for our mains. The SDP was little more than microwaved tray cake, with no actual date in it, and the chocolate cake was gluggy and unappetizing. Sadly, the melted chocolate provided to moisten the chocolate cake was actually burnt, with the bitter flavour overriding everything else. All in all, the prices were reasonable, but for such subpar food, couldn't really give more than three stars.

(Note all the 5 star reviews by people making their first review...) Came with a group of 22 last Sunday, including children and found manager quite unaccommodative and borderline rude. We had 10 young kids and was not happy to find any paper for them to draw on - when asked “how about from your printer” answered, “that’s upstairs”. Then one of the ladies accidentally spilled her coffee when she took it herself to the table from the bar/counter - staff wiped it up but then didn’t offer a new one, despite the large number of meals we had ordered (and after telling us that we had only “booked for 15” and may have to give up one of the tables should it get ‘busy’ - it did not). The food was okay otherwise would have rated 2 star.

AMAZING chicken parmas! Friend & I visiting Melbourne for the day popped down to DFO for a look around and decided to stop here for lunch. Absolutely amazing service, funny & friendly staff. We had the advantage of dining in during the week, therefore having access to the 'workers lunch' deal. $19 for a main + house wine/beer. Incredible. The size of the parmas were liberally half the dinner plate! Full of chips and salad too. Safe to say I didn't need dinner that night. 😛 Will definitely be back and have recommended to several people.

How is it that nobody in Australia seems to be able to make a proper fish and chips? It must come with malt vinegar! The menu says it comes with malt vinegar but I had to ask for it seperately and then got a tiny little dish with maybe a tablespoon or so. Whitefish like cod etc, chips, and a bottle of good malt vinegar on the table. I've tried 4 different chip shops in 3 months here and they all miss. Otherwise the place was nice looking and located conveniently near the wharf.

I had the chicken burger (standard) with no added extras (Avocado $4 extra!!!) and I have to say this was truly an unforgettable burger (Overall 8.5/10). I couldn't stop yumming all the way through. - Patty (9/10) Chicken, tasted happy, fresh and perfectly cooked - Bun (9/10) – Just the right amount of bite and sweetness - Filling (8/10) – Fresh salad and tangy mayo - Strangely delicious - Waitresses (8/10) hot *sorry, but true - Chips (5/10) – Simply outclassed by the burger. - Location (9/10) – On a hot day outside overlooking Yarra - Price (5/10) - The $17 seemed expensive at time of order, but ohhhhhh sooo worth it - Size (9/10) – Not too big, perfectly chompable, didn’t fall apart, didn’t end up all over me
