This 'hole in the wall' has been on our list for a long long long long long time. For lockdown reasons we had to keep pushing our plans but finally managed to grab a meal here.
O.M.G ! Dari is love for Toastie Lovers! Dari is Korean Fusion! Dari is Amazing!!
For the Dalgona lovers they also do Dalgona Coffee
L. K.
Visited the cafe on the weekend and ordered up the Bulgogi Toasted Sandwich and for my partner the Spicy Pork Toasted Sandwich. From the first bite you get a rush of rich flavour with generous serving size.
Service was attentative, kind and inviting.
Definitely will sate your Bulgogi craves and recommend to finish off with the black sesame shake!
Happy to go again!

Tried the K-street toast. Very generous portion, and very tasty. Perfect for a picnic. Service was great as well. The sauce made the bread soggy really quickly though, but I suppose that can't be helped. 4.5 stars.

📝: Back here for the third time at Dari Korean Cafe on Hardware Lane. Such a cute place for fusion Korean sandwiches and milkshakes, so delicious and creative.
❤️: My favorite item on the menu is still the 🇰🇷🥪 K-Street Toast Sandwich with 🍳 egg omelette, 🥕 carrot and onion, 🍁🧅 maple onion mayo, ham, 🧀 cheese, cabbage and 🥫 ketchup. Also tried their new snack of crispy bread sticks with 🧄🍞 Garlic Sour Cream as well, so yummy and perfect to share.

If you’re missing Korea or want to try K-toasts, definitely head here! Thick and deliciously loaded sandwiches.
The sweet soy rice cake toast was also very interesting and yummy. It’s not too sweet and the rice cake added a nice chewy texture to the dish! Best eaten when warm so you can enjoy the soft texture of the rice cake.
I would also highly recommend trying their nut-based drinks! Soooo delicious!!

Spicy Pork Toasted Sandwich
Good flavors and the lettuce did a lot to lighten it but it was still a bit too heavy and oily for me, it made it really hard to eat as it was soggy and just fell apart, might have been better in the burger version.

Highly recommended!
We ordered 2 savoury sandwiches (K-Street Toats & Idol/Inkigayo sandwich), 1 dessert toast (Injoelmi Toast) and 1 drink: Mi-su-ga-ru drink.
Both savoury sandwiches excedded our expectations! Tasty, playful, generous size, and mind blowing combination of flavours in one big bite.
The roasted grain shake is a perfect pair for the sandwiches. And the sweet Injoelmi is perfect for dessert too which has a chewy texture and addictive.
We highly recommend to try the sandwiches here, very tasty and generous portion!

We got here one afternoon and, boy, were we in for a treat. We tried the dinner menu and were pleasantly delighted.
Our favorite thing here was the Korean Tiramisu with sticky rice cakes. You must try this one with all the layers of mascarpone.
Also, they make the Korean savory pancakes that come fresh off the grill with all the different flavors such as onion and prawn and pork and kimchi.
If you are looking for unique Korean food in the heart of Melbourne, well, look no further.

Never tried a Korean sanga before and these did not disappoint. They were loaded to the brim with delicious fillings. We tried the K Street toast, spicy pork bulgogi bun and the idol sandwich. All 3 were so generously portioned and tasty, it's so interesting to taste a western influence on Korean street food. The Idol sandwich was a stand out having eggs potato salad, strawberry jam and a mexican salad filling.
I'd also highly recommend the lattes, especially the Job's tears latte. It has this unique nutty flavour that comes from the Job's tears grain, sooo delicious.

Dari in hardware lane is a Korean sandwich bar, such unique dishes and perfect for the lunch on the go. I never thought that jam and egg sandwich would be a great combo, but give it a go, it’s very tasty. The bulgogi has to be my favourite and the desserts are delightful too- Korean take on tiramisu. Will be back for more!

Located in the famous hardware lane, Dari is a korean style cafe offering a fairly simple but unique menu. The korean style sandwiches are delicious and filling, with reasonable prices. The special flavour lattes unfortunately don’t contain any coffee and the rice cake toast might be an acquired taste. But overall very friendly service and nice cosy interior.

Today we are sharing this hidden Spot on Hardware Lane which when we visited were totally impressed by their food.
The place is @darikoreancafe which serves Korean fusion food- a one of it is kind
Also Dari - meaning bridge in Korean, and the food here is a perfect bridge between Korean and western cuisine.
.
.
We tried a few things here
- Idol sandwich - with mexican & egg n potato salad with a layer of jam. This is a jumbo sandwich - Grilled cheese jaffles with a generous filling were so delish
- Potato corn cheese baked in oven
.
.
Also do try their housemade korean grain drink which is amazing.
.
.
With a fresh week starting, do not forget to try and visit this Korean fusion eatery for some mind blowing food. .

A unique Korean fusion restaurant. The people there were also very nice. We enjoyed everything we ordered but the K-tiramisu was our fav and we highly suggest to try it out.
H. K.
Woah I was blown away by this Korean Cafe with the most amazing flavours !
The spicy pork bulgogi bun burger was so light , so fresh and incredibly delicious 😋
The Korean Tiramisu was heavenly with these gooey soft rice cakes that made it moorish!
I’ll definitely be back 🤤

Melbournes first Korean Sandwich bar is here!! I get so excited to try new foods and cuisines in Melbourne and Dari has made some some bold culinary choices!! They have their own take on the inkagiko sandwich (idol sandwich) with potato salad, jam and something sandwich - the sandwich made famous by kpop stars! My absolute favourites have to be the “Mummas roast”, the “In Jul Mi” sandwich dessert and the Egg banggs! They are too delicious to miss! (The mochi in the dessert sandwich was so perfectly chewy, oozy, delicious!) head to hardware lane to try this new sensation!!

A Korean eatery with the friendliest staff. The place is quite small and has a lingering meat smell when entering the place - outdoor seating is also available.
Bulgogi burger - packed with layers of salad and freshly cooked marinated sweet soy beef. The milk bun is lightly toasted abd compliments the sesame mayo sauce.
Sweet soy and rice cake toast - injeolmi toast. The toast surprisingly is quite savoury without the condensed milk. Drizzled with honey, nuts and condensed milk, cut the cake toast in half and taste the softest soy dusted rice cakes and soy spread.
The black sesame latte was quite impressive. Ever so strong in taste and perfectly steamed. Drink it whilst it's hot for optimal taste.
Food: 5/5
Service: 5/5
Ambiance: 3/5

A cute almost missed little place found in Hardware Lane. This Korean-style street eatery left me wanting more. Great food and drinks, cooked and served by a fantastic team who showed excellence in customer service.

Ordered the K-Toast and beef bulgogi burger. The portion is huge and price is on the high side. While the taste was ok only for the K-Toast, the beef bulgogi burger’s taste was much flavourful. The thickness of the sandwiches makes it hard for us to bite as a whole. The drinks menu looks good, maybe because it was a Sunday, the two drink I initially ordered was not available. Went with Job’s Tears Latte. It was so good, very nutty taste with maybe black sesame?
J. R.
Thank you for the wonderful service, delicious home brewed ginger and cinnamon tea, and yummy big burgers! We all really enjoyed our time here ♥️
P. T.
One our absolute favourites. Don't be intimidated by the big sandwiches like I used to be! You can do it! They're delicious and surprisingly refreshing! Also, if you're a pumpkin pie fan, their pumpkin pie shake is one of the best shakes in the city ❤️
A. Q.
Fresh and flavorful. Generous size and fair prices. The employees are super kind and thoughtful. Nothing to do with food, but I came in wet from the rain and an employee was super considerate and offered me a towel to dry off.
S. S.
Elite level sandwich and super friendly staff. Will smash through the rest of the menu shortly
F. Q.
I got the beef bulgogi burger for 💰AUD 16.
It was okay, I was expecting a lot more flavor but I felt like it was missing something. I didn’t quite like the drinks as well, but perhaps it’s just cause i’m not used to the flavor.
Overall I think it’s great to try as I feel that the food has a lot of potential, but I don’t think i’ll be back for more.

Food that travels well:
Seems like this is a sign of a good place in the environment nowadays. And travel well it does.
The sandwiches are really well packed, and boy, are they a handful. Fluffy white bread, generous fillings, wrapped carefully so you can actually eat it without spilling everything. They also have very interesting drinks, I had the pumpkin one, and will be going back to try Job's Tears.
This (pictured) was a very interesting combo that works.

I was so excited to try out this place for lunch today as I've never really tried Korean sandwiches and they were SO good! The portions are really big and we were left super full and satisfied.
We ordered the K-Street Toast which we really enjoyed. The flavours were so tasty with the maple onion mayo and huge pieces of ham + egg omelette.
We also had the Bulgogi Burger which is not to be missed! I will definitely be ordering this again next time I come for lunch. They were very generous with the bulgogi beef, it was overflowing out the bun. The marinade was perfectly balanced in terms of flavour. There was heaps of lettuce which was needed as it really made the burger fresh and the milk bun was so soft and delicious.
For drinks, I had the Roasted Grain Latte with Soy Milk. It was unlike any latte I've had before but I loved the unique flavours. It was kind of a nutty taste and was a very comforting drink. My partner had the Dalgona coffee which I was worried was going to be too sweet, but it was perfect! It was good to finally try the Instagram famous drink.
Thanks for the delicious meal, we'll definitely be back to try the desserts next time!
J. F.
Bulgogi burger is fantastic! Marinated meats in a bun with onion lettuce and mayo made for a great lunch. Will come back for dinner!
E. J.
I had a very good sandwiches and the portion massive. It's soooo good and filling ! Highly recommended
L. S.
Great service great food!
K. S.
Had the K street toast and sweet potato latte.. Overall, food was nice but nothing extraordinary.. and for the price, I expected a bit more, rather than having the toast served in a paper wrap on a tray (makes it feel like I'm eating at maccas)..
On a more positive note, service was great, considering that there were only 2 people working, everything went very smoothly and they were very nice and friendly too..
The place is quite cute, but ambience could be improved with some music..
M. L.
It was one of the best cheap eats and undoubtedly right! Cheap, delicious, quick service and super friendly too! I tried the K Street Toast and it is huge! However, full of flavour and a favourite amongst customers. I can see why. I visited with a big group of people and they even offered us free bread chips. The menu isn't overwhelming and accommodates for vegetarians too. They offer varied drinks including alcoholic bubble tea. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to try but I'll definitely be returning. It's located on Hardware Lane so you have an option to sit out on the alleyway when it's a nice day.

Love this place. Staff are friendly and helpful and the food is super fresh and delicious! K-Street Toast and Idol Sandwiches are soooo good!
A. M.
Great portion sizes and unique flavours. Definitely will go back!

super friendly service, refreshing Korean drinks and tasty Korean-fusion sandwiches and burgers. very cute little spot, would definitely recommend! can't wait to go back :)
M. T. L.
Came here hungry and with a good appetite. I ordered the K-Street Toast that's got the ham, American cheese, egg omelette, mayo and cabbage with tomato sauce between two slices of toasted white bread. It was huge, filling, tasty, messy, saucy and delicious. Would definitely be coming back for more.
J. S.
We had a lovely lunch at Dar Korean café!
It was great to see they have a vegan savoury + sweet option, as well as plenty of yummy drinks. They've just started doing dinners on Friday nights too!
I tried the Raspberry Kombucha - YUMMO!
I had the Mexican Sandwich with vegan mayo. It was super tasty and THICK! My favourite was actually the Sweet Soy Rice Cake dessert sandwich. Loved the nuts on top and the syrup.
This is a great place for lunch, especially if you work in the city :)

That portion surprise me,
You better empty your stomach before having meal here. Haha

I have heard a lot about the Idol Sandwich, which is apparently what Korean pop stars love to eat and comprise of two thick slices of bread, strawberry jam, egg and potato salad, and slaw. Separate them and you will taste the simple freshness of each components. A huge sandwich that is a meal in itself.
The Korean toast is somewhat similar to the Idol Sandwich but with ham in place of the strawberry jam. This I very much enjoyed and while it look intimidating, it was a huge soft fluffy mess of delicious goodness.
The beverages were what really impressed me. Misugaru is a sort of multigrain beverage, and the creamy misugaru shake that I tried was an absolute dream. Thick and creamy, with hints of earthy and nutty flavours. The black sesame latte and pumpkin latte were incredible too, with strong bold flavours that jump out at you.
I also tried the Injeolmi toast which is two slices of toasts, with chewy rice cakes sandwiched in between and topped with misugaru and almond flakes. An absolute textural delight, as was the case with the soybean rice cake tiramisu.

Dari is my new obsession. Every single thing I tried, I absolutely loved. I relish in anything new (to me) and unique (to Melbourne) and especially love unconventional food combinations and this spot offers all of that. Example 1 is the idol sandwich, which features egg salad and "Mexican salad" (apple slaw in chipotle mayo) and a thick layer of jam on four slices of bread. It's sweet and a bit savoury and creamy and super hard to eat but that adds to the fun. It reminds me of how Americans sometimes but jam on their egg and sausage breakfast biscuits. It works incredibly well. Example 2 is the Korean tiramisu, which is essentially a soy flavoured Mascarpone layered with sticky rice cakes. Not quite a tiramisu but absolutely delicious. The beer battered egg muffins are made to order and take about 20 minutes, but are so worth the wait. They're also a bit sweet and taste like cornbread but the whole egg helps balance that. I wanted to try every single drink but settled for the pumpkin pie latte (made with soy) and the Job's tears. The first tasted just like it sounds, while the second was less sweet and very nutty with chunks of walnut that accompany each sip. Some might be turned off by the texture but I liked it. Dari is also open for dinner and drinks now, which I can't wait to go back to try.

The idol sandwich is THE biggest I've eaten (in my life anyway) , but the weird sounding flavour combination works so well. Great service, portion sizes for everything, and super yum snacks too!

Flavoursome korean street sandwich and it is very juicy++++. It is a bit pricey drinks but it was nice. Friendly staffs but they are all inside. It was a but warm inside but nice outside. Should have more napkins for one sandwich lol.
K. G.
The Korean coffee is the real deal! The red bean and rice cake sandwich was really good too. The price is so reasonable, and the overall atmosphere is that of a typical Melbourne laneway cafe.
H. M.
It was a cute cafe with really friendly and approachable staff. I’d say it was quite pricey for Korean street eats but the variety of drinks were quite impressive. I’d recommend to people who wants to try authentic Korean beverages.
M. L.
Mmmmmmmm the idol sandwich was so yummy! Really generous portion size. Will come back to try the other sandwiches :D

Sandwiches is upto 17$ yes it is quite expensive to compare others but i cam say 2.7 times nicer than mac and hungry jack.Because it has more veggies and fresh hams
