Utterly delicious! We had the $70 degustation and were so full! Every single element of every dish was exceptional - 10/10. Cannot wait to go back. Thank you for bringing your excellent dishes back to the table.

Went for lunch on the Sunday of the long weekend with a group of friends and had a lovely experience. The owner, Renato, is very friendly and accommodating and tries to give his personal attention to each table. He generously brought us a complimentary selection of antipasti to try and when one of our group requested a dish that was not on the menu, he said they could make it for him. The food was well presented and reasonable-sized portions. Not a cheap place, but the experience is worth it. Outdoor tables in summer ideal. There is also a quaint, very European-style room downstairs used for private functions up to 50. Would return again.

After being in lockdown once again in Melbourne, my first outing for good food was an adventure. We made reservations to visit Il Nostro Posto and what a great evening and surprise. The food was outstanding. The chef deserves top stars for her magnificent food. The best ever. I ordered the Gnocchi Pancetta e Radicchio which made me smile right thru the next day thinking about it. It was so good I savoured every single bite. Delicious. We started the meal with Carpaccio di Bresaola and it made my eyes roll around in my head. A real winner. My partner ordered another delicious plate of Linguine Marinara and I had to convince him to slow down. It too was amazing. Everything was made with love. For dessert we order Tiramisu which made me want to stand on the table and sing in Italian. That would have been quite a scene since I can't sing at all. Our cocktails were spectacular too. To make it all even better, our server was incredible with the most beautiful personality. I can't wait to return for another great evening celebrating good food. Thank you so much.

Fantastic customer service, cosy vibes and delicious, authentic Sicilian cuisine! The owner, Renato was very attentive to us all evening and you could tell how passionate he is about his food. We tried the tasting course and for the amount of food you get, it's such a good deal! The entrees are a selection of various Sicilian classics, my favourite would be the eggplant caponato and the panelle (chickpeas) but everything was really yum. You can select your own main as part of the course. The pasta was so flavoursome with the ragu, and my favourite was the swordfish casarecce (seafood flavour was so good in the sauce!). You can also never go wrong with the dessert here!

Great vegan Italian. Degustation menu was superb and really filling - go there hungry. Service could have been better but I’d chalk that down to the staff being very young and probably new to hospitality. It will be a great venue in a couple of months time. Owners seemed nice.

Our drinks were spectacular! Finally we found a place where the cocktails are totally well prepared. We ask for an aperol and a margarita and I love it. And the lasagne was delicious and the risotto too. Finally the affogato was so cool, I never try that and awesome! Well done!

We had a lovely night here on Saturday night. The owners were so welcoming. They couldn’t do enough for us. Every dish presented to us was explained and matched up with a lovely red wine. Absolutely loved the vibe in the street. We were lucky enough to be outside under a heater which enabled us to thoroughly enjoy the ambience of the place. The food was awesome. Appetizer/starter was really good...the arancini balls were just perfect and absolutely delish. The main course, fish of the day, pan-fried salmon with prawns and mussels was good but could have been better for the price of the dish ($35), more prawn pieces or a bigger piece of fish perhaps. Being a Friday evening, it was quite busy and noisy but a lively atmosphere. The people serving seemed a bit busy and one seemed a tad inexperienced, at one point we had to ask several times for the glass of wine we ordered to materialise. The food my mates ordered were also good overall but again could have done with that extra bit more oomph in terms of the taste pallette and quantity served for the price! All in all it was still an enjoyable dining experience and I would probably try them again another time.

Last night we went to the new Funghi e tartufo. In one word, stupefacente! amazing! A wonderful family run, plant based heaven that everyone will enjoy. We went all in with the degeneration menu. Its a good idea to skip lunch as flavour and size is definitely not skimped. Stand out dishes throughout, notably the truffle pappardelle, is to die for and worth a visit all by itself. We will be back,thats for sure.

Came here with a group of people and we all really enjoyed our meals. They were on the pricey side as it is, after all, it is Hardware lane. The service was fantastic, funny and extremely friendly. The food was delicious too. I thoroughly enjoyed my carbonara with mushroom as opposed to bacon!

Word of warning if you order the guazzetto di pesce there is about a 30min wait for it to bake, we were not informed about this and the wait seemed like forever. When it came out thought it was a sight to behold. Once the crust was cut open it revealed the magic inside. The flavour of it was delicious. Majority of the seafood was cooked perfectly although the prawns were a bit overcooked. The hapuka was ok, it was cooked perfectly however it was drowned in olive oil which was a bit overpowering. Service was good and the outdoor seating was perfect on a sunny day.

My partner and I had lunch here today and the staff were amazing. The owner Renato (sorry if I spelt that wrong) went out of his way to make sure we had a wonderful experience. My partner was curious about a special that was no longer available and he went out of his way to make it possible even though we were happy to order other food. He gave us a heads up that there might be a delay with making the dish of about 10-20 minutes, never the less both my pasta and the special were delivered at the same time and were both hot, showing the kitchen was well prepared. The food itself was amazing and I cannot speak more highly of this place. 10/10 the best Italian restaurant I have been to ever. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for fantastic, authentic Italian food.

Food was unbelievably amazing. Far exceeded mine and my partner's expectations and deserves a higher star rating! The Fettuccine Marinara was excellent, the fish literally melted in the mouth with perfectly cooked Mussels and calamari. The calzone was heavenly from the prosciutto on the outside, to the bread with the perfect amount of bite and nice complexity and into the inside with its Juicy amount of filling. The linguini was a simple dish with a touch of sharpness from the chilli and the noodles themselves!

I visited this restaurant after a recommendation from friends 2 weeks prior. The level of service from arrival was excellent. Menu was full of outstanding dishes, and well curated. Both presentation and taste of the food lived up to expectations. Serious quality wine list to match. Alessandro was great, everything he recommended was perfect! Overall a very atmospheric restaurant full of character. Would highly recommend!

I have been in this little gem on Hardware lane with a group of friend , we order few traditional dishes typical from the Southern Italian Sicilian cousin . Alessandro the restaurant manager , was very friendly to welcome us , and settle us on our table , and drive us through our food choice . We order couple of typical Sicilian starter such as Arancini , olives , and the Antipasto platter with different selection of cured meat. The Service was quick , friendly , and knowledgeble , but the biggest surprise was the researched wine list, especially the red . We really loved this spot , and we surely will be back with other different friends , thanks Alessandro and Team to make our time at il nostro posto memorable.

This place is a real surprise packet! We didn’t really plan to eat here, however, we had a faultless experience. It was a very hot night so we started with bruschetta and an ice cold beer. Then the attentive waiter recommended a spectacular bottle of Italian white wine...a bit more expensive but definitely worth the money. Food was good, not great. The atmosphere outside looked nice but inside was lacking a bit of ambiance - listening to radio commercials feels a little strange while at a nice dinner. The service was awkward. We had three different servers throughout the night and it didn't seem as though they were communicating very well. Also don't be surprised if you order one type of beer and receive another because they want you to try it. Just a little odd to be forced to drink the beer you didn't order. And the major bummer - if you don't finish your food, you can't take it home with you. Apparently this is a rule here but we haven't run into that anywhere else in Australia. Seemed very weird and unfair. Overall, we wouldn't return but we didn't regret it.

It was alright. We got the chicken main and the broccoli pasta. Chicken was decent, nothing special, but the pasta seemed a bit bland. Service was nice but slow, there were a few times we were left waiting and trying to get someone's attention. We weren't offered a drinks menu. And my sparkling water took so long to arrive I assumed it'd been forgotten. 2% surcharge on credit cards, too, which seems a bit ridiculous. I'd come here again but it wouldn't be my first choice.

In Melbourne, they said Lygon street has the best Italian food. But to me, this is the best place to have authentic italian food. Situated in the back lanes of the buildings. They have many other restaurants in this lane. The 5 star is for the food quality, ambience and customer service. The ravioli was just so soft, creamy and mouth watering. The lamb ragu paccheri was rich and yummilicious. Reaĺly warm reception by the waiters. Good suggestions provided and feel very welcomed. Will definitely recommend this place if you are looking for Italian food.

Fair service, decent food, comparable prices all service to make this place blend into the crowd of other similar venues in this busy street. What makes it worth visiting is the authentic feel and the slightly quieter venue when compared to the rest of the street. Just don't ask for soy milk in your coffee... they don't have it.

We had the carbonara, pumpkin pizza and caprese salad and arancini to share (there were 3 of us). I think mains weren't big enough to share so would recommend getting individual mains (or more than 2), the arancini was only one big arancini so wouldn't recommend to share this either unless it's only a table for two :) I have heard great things about the ravioli so will need to go back there for this.
