We regularly vist Albury as we have our dearest friend whom have lived there 30 years. We had never been to this restaurant and couldn't understand why. The food,drinks and service puts La Maison at the very top of the available dining experiences in the area. Highly recommended.

Exquisite, top notch food for a very reasonable price. Ordered the chicken liver parfait - it is everything you want/expect from a chicken liver parfait and then some. Every element that was served came together to create an explosion of flavour without being confusing. You can tell that the flavours of this dish was carefully/lovingly crafted. The sourdough was open fire toasted with a beautiful smokiness to it, the sweetness of the figs and peach jam balanced the rich, creaminess of the liver, and finally the tang and kick of the spices and pepperiness lingers. Divine. The crispy pork belly was a well selected cut - not too lean such that it's dry, and not too fatty either. The meat was tender whist the skin beautifully crispy, almost reminiscent of a Chinese style roast pork. And fittingly paired with fresh Asian slaw. Excellent use of nuoc mam to enhance the umami of the otherwise plain pork belly. 5 stars. Although the house Pinot Noir was lacklustre - with such divine cuisine perhaps the restaurant curators would explore wine pairings to complement the food.

Have been going here for years. Owner and his team are brilliant. Customer service fantastic. Food is exceptional. I have attended many functions here in the rustic room out the bank which can accommodate people spilling to the outside as well. Finger food at these events has been fabulous each time. The most recent event was a work function and they were flexible and accommodating with servicing all of our needs. Highly recommend.

We have been going here since they opened for business. Great atmosphere! Obvious care for the dishes they offer and great menu choices that cover a broad range of tastes. Wine and drinks list that is extensive and offers really good choices and you can always ask your host for advice. We will continue to visit La Maison for those special occasions as well as just that nice evening out in good company with fine food and wine.

We chose to go here as we’d planned a winery lunch not realising that not everything was open. So, so glad we did! The food was delicious, the service attentive but not intrusive. Pricing is normal for the quality that you get. We shared the pumpkin risotto balls to start and followed with the duck. The risotto balls were the best we have ever had. Delicious and creamy with some spice as well. Duck was confit and came with a delicious caramelised onion tartlet. Highly recommend.

That was one of the best meals I ever had!!!! Service was superb, I couldn't believe how popular it was! Dumplings with black vinegar (which I thought was going to an odd combination) was absolutely amazing! The pork belly was so tender you could breath on it and it would fall apart, the best I've ever had! This restaurant at the same quality of a very high city restaurant! The owner was fabulous! All in all 10/10! Customer service is extremely important and certainly showed that importance! If you are look for a place to go to that has great quality, I recommend La Maison! In my personal opinion, it is the best restaurant in the Albury/Wodonga area!

I organised a birthday function there last week and loved the place. Food - Yum (no one complained which is saying something), Service - great, well done. We were so glad we booked there as we were concerned some of the family like "plain" food (pub grub) but everyone was happy. La Maison also allowed us to supply the birthday cake, no problem. They cut it up, served it on a plate with cream and a sauce, nil cost, nil fuss! I don't usually "tip" but was very happy to do so, thanks again, Scott & Kathy

Beef cheeks were EXCEPTIONAL. I might prefer something other than parsnip mash, but the cheeks themselves did credit to the cow from whose face they were hacked, and all steps thereafter. The list wine was good - above what can be reasonably expected in the provinces - although the house rosé was on a par with 'pelure d'ognion', which can be had for €1.74 at any Huit-à-8 in Paris. Split infinitives... Sue me.

I went here with my husband and some friends because of its long standing reputation for excellent food. And it ws rightly earned, as the food was delicious. But I still couldnt help but be disappointed with only having one vegetarian option. All four of us were vegetarians and so all four of us ordered the gnocchi. Many vegetarians will know that when they attempt to eat out, even at really nice places, they will likely end up eating a gnocchi or risotto. So again, the gnocchi was delicious, but if you are a vegetarian, that is guaranteed what you will be eating.

Experience has dropped over time. It was decent over a year ago (I hear it had already begun declining), really dropped the ball shortly before one of the lockdowns, and whilst it's improved somewhat since then, you're still paying $$$ levels for $$ quality. Overdone steaks, dry duck... Hopefully they will improve over time, but given there's not heaps of competition, I won't hold my breath.
