What an amazing experience. Superb ambience, super duper food and extremely courteous servers. Me and my wife celebrated my birthday here today and we had to get our food customised quite a bit due to my allergies and my wife's dietary requirements but the chef produced some amazing dishes outside of the set menu to accommodate all our needs. He went of the way to clear out the table and kitchen to ensure there is nothing in the dish that I am allergic to.. blown away by the professionalism. This is a gem in Melbourne and must visit if you have time and If you are around!!

A must try when in Melbourne, One of my favourite restaurants in Melbourne and one of the very few places in that range to even have much variety for people opting for Vegetarian or Vegan versions!
While we have experienced this place a few times and every time it was different, it was always delicious and even the one we ordered through Provision, they made sure that they are providing exceptional value!
Keep up the great work guys, The staff are always friendly, although understandably due to Covid they have a certain amount of timing for sitting and just make sure you are able to finish all the good was by then as we struggled last time 😬😊🙏

We ordered our meal through Providoor and couldn’t be happier. The four course meal that was delivered came with full easy to follow instructions, complementary non alcoholic beer and gorgeous poster. The food delivered was extremely generous and we loved it. We felt so special.
Thank you Maha, looking forward to dining in your restaurant.

This place literally is one of the best restaurants in Melbourne. The food is absolutely incredible!
We ordered the food through Providoor and they had provided a clear instructions on how to serve the food. We tried their Ras Hanout Cauliflower, Beef Dumplings and Zatar Bread for entree and it was absolutely delish.
Although the food had enough flavour infused in it, they gave us extra spices to garnish the food at home.
Not just that, they also have us complementary alcohol free drinks.
I just regret not experiencing their food at the restaurant. Can't wait to dine in there and experience their rest of the menu.

Just ate at Maha. It’s been a place on my list for a long time after seeing it on Postcards.
Maha lived up to the expectations.
The staff were amazing and the food was even better. Shout out to Dirk who was assisting us through the night. I think we tried almost every cocktail and almost everything on the menu and couldn’t fault anything.
All I wish was that we could have got a time slot at the end so we could have stayed for longer.
Will be back again soon!!!
P.s would love to know where the leather tables, the large shot glasses are from and those big wine glasses. Dirk your service was amazing.
P.s p.s love the oysters.
P. L.
I had one of the best restaurant experiences at Maha. The online booking system was very easy and straight forward. The space and atmosphere was great and romantic. The staff were professional. They gave us great explanation about the food and how they serve it. And finally the food was amazing, fresh and really top-notch. Big congrats to all staff for their great service. Will be back definitely !
E. F.
The food at Maha is incredible, even as a take home package during lockdown. Restaurant quality at home 💛 Maha Spotify playlist added to the experience at home 💛
The smoked hummus, chocolate mousse and prawn ravioli were my favourites. I look forward to eating in when restrictions ease up to have the full Maha experience.
C.
A place that would never let ya down. I had the tasting set menu, and the food is absolutely amazing. A must go restaurant in Melbourne.

Very pleased with meal and great service… great and extensive wine list and food of course was great… all in all a great experience… but I will go during evening next time… not their fault but restaurant atmosphere was a little down due to Covid and ny eve cancellations

Went there to celebrate our anniversary with my partner last night. Not only was the food amazing, but the service was even better. Alex definitely made our night, definitely guided us through the menu, and was hands-down the best server that we've both ever had. Really beautiful establishment, you can tell a lot of care is taken about the food, produce, and drinks, and that they truly do care about the experience of the customer. Thank you again Alex.
R. N.
A truly brilliant dining experience. The staff were knowledgeable and attentive, without being overbearing, the food was amazing. The ambience took you away, dare I say it had a New York feel. The music was selected well and was not intrusive. This is one of my favourite Melbourne dining experiences.

This place is as good as service and food gets.
I’m truly stunned in terms of how well presented, value and punctuality of the food that comes out of the kitchen. The waitress who served us was also welcoming and friendly, gave good suggestions and ensured we were comfortable.
We had the Soufra package (see pictures below) as well as the oysters. All outstanding.
I requested for candles to be put on the dessert but they went beyond what I asked for and sent out two extra orange blossom cakes with candles as well as a small letter from the Maha team thanking us for spending our time there.
Easily one of the best restaurants I’ve ever dined in and you should too.
R. M.
Delicious and a great fine dining experience. My only criticism is that the vegan set menu is the same price as the meat menu - this can be excused as what they do with vegetables is amazing but I think its a valid point to raise.
The servers are phenomenal and add to the experience as much as the food itself.
M. N.
A cosy underground venue with staff who are warm and hospitable. Our waiter Dirk was fantastic, his recommendations were on point and he was very attentive. The food is so delicious and servings are very generous, I highly recommend coming in a group to try more dishes. The flavours and textures are rich and inviting.

What a unique experience. There was not anything to fault. Five stars is not enough. The staff were so friendly and the lovely lady that served at our table made our experience so much more memorable. The food … oh my G.O.S.H. I have unlocked taste buds I never thought existed! I don’t even think this review will help though … you all need to experience this yourself - cheers, Aran

One of the best experiences we've had was to share the winter and premium soufra (Maha to go) over zoom for mum's birthday. It was fun to have the family help prepare the meal and so delicious. There was so much food we had four meals from it! Thank you Maha!!
E. N.
We ordered the 3 course set menu with a few extras. Food was delicious and brought out rather quick. Waiting staff were friendly and helpful. They explained how the menu works and made suggestions on how much and what to order. Will definitely come back here
l. s.
Honestly, have no words to explain the time we had here. Omg. Unbelievably amazing food. One of the best dining experiences. Great cocktails. Staff was super professional yet soooo friendly.
Hats off to chef Shane, chef Daniel and all the other chefs + front of house staff.
Thanks.

Expensive but worth it!
We came here for our 1 year anniversary, and it's definitely what I would classify as a 'special occasion' place, from the moment you walk in its 10/10. The atmosphere was on point, you walk down the steps and enter into a beautifully lit room, nice background music, and it's not too loud (a pet hate of mine is when you go out for a meal and can't hear the person you are sitting opposite!). We started at the bar with a beautifully presented cocktail. And then when we were taken to our table by the lovely waitress. Every staff member knew about the menu and what food they were bringing out and could talk to it so well but was also very personable. Then all the food! Everything that came out was presented so nicely and tasted even better. And there was just so much food! You will not leave hungry! I felt bad that we couldn't eat all the desserts by the end.
J. M.
Totally divine ,scrumptious food ,mind blowing service and a super cosy place ..highly recommended .

So where do I start. The menu is limited to 2 choices, with optional extras! The 90 dollar 3 course can be upgraded to 5 courses and the 125 dollar 5 course menu can be upgraded to 7 courses. So we took the 3 courses and my wife added a Scallop, just one lemony scallop for an extra 9.50. I added wagyu beef strips at $28 per person. Big mistake. But I'll get to that later.
Entrée was great, excellent warm Lebanese bread rolls that were spiced and lightly oiled the star of the evening. We got extras to mop up the nice hummus , which was very substantial! Kalamata and Australian green olives and delicious small chicken sausages in delicious and delicately spiced sauce.
If you could go to MaHa's and just order the entree for $30 to share that would be perfect.
Then the beef strips arrived, 2x 20 grams of Luke warm. one rare and chewy and the other marginally better, arrived on a salty jus. Nothing Lebanese about this dish, although the outside edge of the meat was seasoned black, but thanks to the excessively salty jus, I couldn't taste the spices. A complete waste of 56 dollars. The white asparagus and Terri thin slither of roasted garlic were the best part of this dish.
Main arrived shortly after that had a nice hot piece of tender lamb shoulder. Mine has a crisp skin with soft juicy fat layer. It come with an oily aged rice with sautéed greens that we thought was unpleasant and a side of cooked whole flat beans and leaves (stringy, no thanks) that my wife liked but l thought was bit fibrous, probably the beans inside.
Dessert was great, big server of lovely walnut ice cream, Turkish delight donuts (enjoyable but could have been hotter) and half a raspberry topped tart made of whipped yoghurt and rose water (ok dessert) in a dark chocolate casing.
I wish I didn't buy the wagyu strip loin
My other gripe was the price of alcohol, OMG, wine by the glass started at 24 a glass and it was a 100ml of your lucky. Poor assortment of beer and I'm not into cocktails. Yes the wine list is extensive but really guys, you didn't even offer a taste of wine to ensure I could buy something I could at least enjoy!
All up 300 for 2 people, overpriced in my opinion but without the wagyu it would have received a much better review. It was all but up and down. Atmosphere was a little cramped, small seating, dark but not romantic at all. Nice fixtures etc, but we were stuck in a booth we didn't get to experience the restaurant.
Service was snappy and professional but after the entree they never once asked if we enjoyed the dish. And while they were quick to top up your glass and ask if you would like more drinks, they took away menus and empty plates and glasses instantly, the courses come out back to back and i felt rushed. Yes we were late to arrive due to storms and city traffic, and yes there was a second sitting but please don't over do the expedience!
I probably won't go back. I did love that bread! I've had better experiences of middle eastern food for less.

We had a private function for our work Xmas party. The ambience of the place with sombre lighting, great background music and a perfect waitress who catered to our needs. This is a place worth visiting again. The food was absolutely divine. Everything was done right, the portion sizes, the flavours, the food combination. This is definitely a must.
A. P.
Absolutely lovely birthday lunch here yesterday! We had the soufra set menu and walked away very satisfied. The food was all beautifully presented and delicious. Staff were very attentive and helpful without being overbearing.
The venue is beautifully appointed and creates an elegant, cosy atmosphere with soft background music. An overall lovely quiet place to have an elegant meal in Melbourne.
We will be back and I would highly recommend for both the food and the atmosphere.
T. K.
Awesome food, had the lunch banquet, which consists of meeting and main meal to share. Everything had a taste wow factor about it. Great ambience and the staff were just as good as the food if not better. Our waitress Emma was amazing, customer service was 5 star, her great sense of humour and personality was infectious.
Maya is a great restaurant, a bit price but I'd pay it again.
Another water that has only been for a week was also amazing, his knowledge of the menu was 10/10.
It was pleasure eating this great food and meeting good competent staff that actually enjoy what they do. Highly recommend, a must for people who like fine dining and great service.
G. L.
Absolutely beautifully curated selection of food. We opted for the Tasting set dinner menu and paired it with matching wines. Every course was absolutely delicious, with special mentions to the swordfish sashimi and duck breast.
The presentation was meticulous and the service was outstanding. Timing of each course was perfect too. We left feeling very satisfied and full.
Overall an excellent fine dining experience. Highly recommended!
B. F.
Fantastic experience. This was our 5th or 6th time at Maha and on the whole, they were good but this last occasion for lunch in Jan-22 was by far the best. Service was flawless, every dish was superb and the drinks were perfect.
Great effort by the whole team to keep the whole operation running smoothly despite the pandemic.
J. P.
What a fantastic dining experience! The staff were super friendly and not only was the food delicious the serving portions were very generous. This placed exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend!

I went here for my 21st birthday with my boyfriend and had such an amazing experience. The service was wonderful, we had a lovely waiter that gave us great recommendations and educated and explained the food we were eating. She was so nice and professional. The atmosphere was so cosy, comfortable and intimate, the place was decorated so nicely and lighting was dimmed. I tried so many new flavours and dishes and I loved them all, it was such a nice way to experience modern middle eastern cuisine. It was such a treat to go to a nice restaurant and taste such beautifully thought out food, I didn't even feel out of place or anything, it was such a mix of people and felt really comfortable.
They gave us their bread flour and recipe to take home which I think is a great touch to make your customers feel special and part of the family.
I can't wait to come back here again, was truly an unforgettable experience for me that was made so special.
The owner has really thought about what they want this restaurant to be and it shows through their food, service and overall experience. Amazing work Maha!
a. c.
Beautiful setting, food is wonderful and plentiful, and despite several large groups, the pace of food service was great!!
R.
$50 lunch banquets is such great value.
Staffs are very attentive and professional
Amazing flavour and variety

A nice place to try meditation food. The place has a good atmosphere and the staff members are very friendly and helpful. The place tend to lean towards the expensive side , but its worth it.
I enjoyed the meal and the experience.
J. N.
Excellent food, strong flavours, overwhelmingly delicious. Solid cocktail list. Mel was a total gem. Loved it, definitely revisiting
J. K.
Wonderful! Immensely enjoyed the set lunch menu yesterday - Food was delicious. Great atmosphere and wonderful staff made the experience 5 star. Will be back and would recommend!

Took my mother here for an early Mother’s Day. Honestly, I looked for “nice restaurants in Melbourne CBD” and this came up as one of the options, so I thought, why not? Best decision. Food was delectable and the best I’ve tasted in a long time. Happy and helpful staff. Ambiance was exquisite. Will definitely be back.

A beautiful place to relax with great food, served by friendly, attentive and knowledgeable staff.
We have tried MahaGo through Providor during the second Covid lockdown and the food was still great despite my clumsy attempt at reheating and plating. So, when the lockdown ended, Maha was one of the first restaurant we visited. It was absolutely fabulous.
We had the dinner soufra at $120 pp. As you can see from the pictures, the servings are quite generous. Everything is good except for the flat beans in the fattoush (salad) - the beans were tough! There are several standout dishes for us, dishes that we can eat over and over again - the sublime truffled fava and smoke fish dip with the nutty bread, the beautifully cooked Hapuka, the tender lamb with crunchy nuts, the chewy donut with Turkish delight.
As we left the restaurant, we were given a surprise gift - a thoughtful gesture.
We felt we just had dinner with hospitable friends who served us a long table full of good food to eat :)
N. B.
Food was amazing and very good value. The 7 course banquet with wine pairing was incredibly good and the staff were highly knowledgeable about the wines. The atmosphere is nice and calm, music is a nice level so you can still talk to people across the table without having to shout and the drinks were delicious also. Highly recommended.

Delicious, down to earth food. Strong but delicate middle eastern flavours throughout the courses. Paired wine fantastic. Great establishment for friends or to take a client/s.
J.
Have never been before and was invited by friends. Maha is Middle Eastern fine dining with a dimly lit classy atmosphere. The servers are knowledgeable with great attitudes - my table had Dirk explaining the menus, cocktails and when the food came out told us what each dish was, what his favourite is and how to pair it. This was amazing for someone like me who doesn’t know much about middle eastern food. And it was all delicious!! I loved their signature Pomegranate Sour cocktail (on menu for ten years!), Wagyu soured chickpea crumpet, Truffled fava, smoked fish, almonds & herbs with Maha bread and the Turkish delight doughnuts!
Honestly though the service is what made my night - Dirk was amazing! He offered to take photos of our group (we were there for my friends birthday), he had a few laughs with us and was just a great guy. Photos do not do the food justice!!
s. s.
Delicious food and lovely ambience. Was super crowded. Service could have been better. Almost took 2.5 hours to complete a dinner with a set menu, way longer than expected.
M. Y.
We ordered the Premium Soufra from Providoor, so this review isn't on the entire restaurant experience.
Given what we received, we most likely will venture in to their real life establishment.
Recommended.
M.
Incredible experience. Oysters and scallops are next level. Wine and cocktails are on point. Soufra menu is insane. Emily was a weapon. Thanks team x
S. C.
Food and wine were excellent and service was great. Vegetarians will need to dine from the vegan menu, but there are still some decent options. Catered for allergies.
K. S.
Great food experience. 6 course menu very filling, tasty and interesting combinations. King Fish my favourite dish along with the freshest, softest, delicious Turkish bun and hummus dip. Definitely a place to go back to. Staff attention to detail and service amazing. A little wait on arriving which could have been handled a little better with acknowledgement and drinks offered.
B. L.
Excellent food and service. Had 8 courses with my wife. It was a new and great experience for both of us to enjoy the middle-eastern style food. Worth to go again. Really want to have a taste of the lamb shoulder in the 6 courses menu.
S.
Dined here over the weekend with my mum and sis. We were asked about water options and we opted for tap water, however, reading some reviews after our visit and it seems we would have been charged otherwise. I feel we should have been informed about the cost, as we assumed all options were free.
We were also presented with a drinks menu and assumed a drink would be included in the 6 course $115 menu, as that seemed fairly reasonable, but again, we were mistaken. It would have been nice to be informed of cost, but even nicer to be told a first drink is free and additional drinks or refills are at a cost.
The ambiance was ok, just a little too dark for my liking. Even darker in the toilets which i thought was overkill. The service was friendly. The food was very tasty and came at a good pace. The servings could have been a bit more generous.
B. S.
The food is to die for. I've come 5 times now and each time I fall in love with the flavours, atmosphere and the service. The epitome of fine dining. My favourite place for food. If I could, I would only eat at Maha. Fine dining atmosphere with a warmth that makes you feel welcome. The staff are polite, attentive with a great attitude. I recommend this place to all my clients and friends. Melbournians need to discover Maha. Can't wait to dine again.
R. C.
Lovely staff, so friendly and accomodating. The food was superb and I can’t wait to come back with family and friends. Oh, and I love the interior design. Although it was busy, it was easy to chat without shouting thanks to the clever design I suspect.
C. W.
Alot of friends of mine had strongly recommended to try this place, so we finally did and boy it did not disappoint. Their Soufra Menu is simply superb, from the Salmon kibbeh neya to the Lamb shoulder to their signature Turkish Delight donuts and more. All the courses were so unique, well presented, had a wonderful aroma filling the air and full of flavour. On top of that, the dim lighting combined with the feint RnB music in the background gave off a relaxed and romantic ambience.
Special thank you to Dirk for looking after our table, friendly and professional. Can't fault this place at all. Definitely will be back!

Week 2 in the extended Stage 4 lockdown saw us dine in at home at Maha Restaurant thanks again to Providoor🙏🏻.
Melbourne’s hospitality businesses have been hit hard by the lockdowns. These businesses are not just a big collective employer they add so much to our culture and social environment. They build local and international careers and support students and backpackers as they start their adult life journeys.
Maha is run by Shane Delia who has been the inspiration behind Providoor that has enabled some restaurants to supply food for dine in. Our Maha dine-in experience was great and it was hard to decide between the Baked Katifi Prawns or Slow Roasted Eggplant as the hero of the night. The dine in experience also came with a Spotify playlist but we needed to supply our own atmosphere 🥂🍷💃🏻🕺 🕯️
D. C.
Most of the food was tasty but overall I was pretty disappointed with the experience. We added the wagyu striploin which was a tiny portion of chewy beef, definitely not worth the price. The kingfish entree was bland and the smoked rice that came with the lamb was dry and didn’t suit the dish at all. On top of this the service was slow, it took 45 minutes before we received our first course, and then 45 minutes again after finishing our dessert until we were able to pay the bill. We found multiple times over the night we would struggle to get a waiters attention to get some water or to order drinks. We did thoroughly enjoy the oysters, the sashimi, the duck (however we were disappointed it wasn’t crispy) and the lamb. I was also a bit disappointed to receive an email afterwards informing if I book again I will be better looked after.. paying $450 for a meal I would expect the service be top notch at any time, but sadly it wasn’t. Based on my experience I won’t be back and am unlikely to recommend Maha to others.
K. P.
Fantastic middle eastern vegan tasting menu. Great wine options. The only drawback was the sommelier who was pretty pushy. Other than that, service was fantastic and food delicious.
L. C.
Great staff, beautiful interior (although a little dark), and amazingly delicious food. Minus 1 star because the menu was explained a little confusingly, and the waitress rushed to take our drinks away before we had finished them. Otherwise, a great experience. You will leave with a full happy belly.
K. W.
Great authentic middle eastern cuisine, there's various foods from all over the middle east.
You'll dine in a very luxurious restaurant and serviced by professional staff that make sure you understand the ingredients and origion of every plate.
The prices aren't that high and the atmosphere is fabulous, I definitely recommend coming here, I also recommend trying the banquet option with multiple course meals, as it's definitely value for money!
J. D.
The great thing about this place is that the entrance is unnoticeable. It's discreet presence hides the amazing flavours that is waiting for you in the menu.
There are no choices with the food, the only choice is whether you want 2, 4, 5, OR 6 Courses.
The cocktails reflect the ambience and authenticity of the surrounding decor.
It's a great place to taste middle eastern cuisine if you have always wanted to try it.
Not cheap nut very well worth it.

One of my favourite restaurants to go to in Melbourne. Every dish is beautifully presented, creative and full of flavour. We had the 4 course meal and was left feeling really full at the end of it.
We went on Valentine’s Day and was lucky to see the owner, Shane at the restaurant.

If you are searching for a beautiful, refined and sophisticated restaurant, Maha ticks all the boxes. The customer service is unbelievably well trained and with sophisticated manners. Well, let's talk about the food, wow!! I had the 4 course menu and it was delightful. I can't even explain how complex and perfect the dishes are. If you are looking for a special occasion or an extremely nice dinner out. Here is one of the best places to eat in Melbourne.
R. K.
Fabulous place. They cater for vegans, vegetarians and carnivores as well as pescetarians. We celebrated a friend's birthday here. Food was amazing. Service is perfect, attentive but not intrusive. Decor is beautiful and it's peaceful. One can actually talk instead of shouting at each other above loud music. The 4 course banquet, which consisted of many small sharing plates, was what we decided upon. It was a great choice. Can't remember having such a delicious meal as this for a very long time.
R. P.
We just ordered one the Maha banquets through Providoor and were really impressed. The portions were generous and the flavours were exceptional. The hummus was some of the nicest I’ve tried. Can’t wait to dine in.
M. A.
Firstly let me say that it was a special 8 course lunch event that was hosted for Maltese Independence day. The atmosphere in Maha is absolutely exotic and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing with Shane adding his own pleasant twist on Maltese cuisine. It was also great to meet Shane who is so friendly and good humored! From start to end I couldn't get enough and even asked for seconds! Looking forward to going back 😊
M. D.
Really enjoyed dinner with my wife here. Yes, it's not cheap, 180 for two on the four course set and a soft drink, but this is what you pay for these types of restaurants.
Food was exceptionally good, we loved everything and there's a lot of it. Different tastes and smells, absolutely beautiful.
The staff were exceptional, very very friendly.
To sum up, this is a highly rated restaurant, one you can go to on special occasions to enjoy the food the atmosphere and the hospitality.

I had my anniversary lunch on Saturday and opted for the vegan option. I very rarely write a review but I feel compelled to as this was one of the best restaurant experiences I have ever had. For context, I have dined in hundreds of restaurants internationally and locally (including Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, Minamishima and Vue De Monde), and my background is Iranian/Turkish so I am extra critical of middle eastern food. What makes this place great? Its the attention to detail to the entire restaurant experience. My water was always filled, tables cleaned between meals, highly friendly staff that finds the balance between not being there and always there, meals containing the perfect amount of food, complexity of meals, food presentation, cool atmosphere, appropriate music, excellent cocktails etc.....
Yes many high tier restaurants have this but they do also have faults. This one did not and that is extremely rare. A huge thank you from my partner Amber and myself for giving us the fortunate experience at dining at your restaurant, I will recommend it without any worry of my reputation because if they don't like it, they would be insane.
A. W.
Five Star Dining. From food quality, presentation, flavors, and wait staff, this restaurant has made a science and art of dining. Come only if your credit card has a high limit. It is worth it. We had a party of 10 and every person in our party was handled with perfection. Every plate was perfect.
A. C.
Exceptional muddle eastern cuisine with a very extensive and unusual wine list featuring some unusual appellations. Catered well for vegetarian and coeliacs but not cheap
H. P.
We're group of 4 food lovers trying food at different restaurants out of curiosity . Our opinions: good food, good service, good ambience, good facilities; therefore, we give it 5⭐
J. Y. J. T.
Biting into the bread was like biting into a soft fluffy cloud, except the cloud was a clump of carby goodness with the surprising chewiness similar to that of a mochi. It nearly felt like a waste dipping that bread into the hummus, as it can definitely be a star of its own show.
The hummus on the other hand was this flavor umami bomb with mushrooms and beans on top. My partner who doesn’t even eat mushrooms was actually glued to the hummus!
The spice on the olives was something else. I don’t even normally like olives!
A. E.
Absolutely amazing, fresh ingredients. The 4 course menu is more than enough for 4, doesn’t look like much but towards the end of the course number 4, we were almost exploding. With the starter, Za’atar bread is served that you can request for more, which we did. Overall, it was a great experience and we would go again for special occasions.
D. F.
We got the premium soufra delivered to country Victoria. Delivery was seamless and food was fabulous with easy to follow directions and preparation. Quantity was huge for 2 people and every dish was tasty and delicious. Clean up took a matter of minutes which was unbelievable for all the food on the table. When life gives you lemons Maha has certainly made lemonade.
E. S.
4 courses lunch.
Great dining ambience and attentive services.
Absolutely love the lamb shoulder, salad and hummus. Also feel absolutely full afterwards.
It would be better if the entree could minimize dishes which involves too much carbs.
S. H.
Absolutely amazing vegan menu. We went to Kayla, the outdoor dining. Very impressed! Service was fantastic and food was delicious!
S. D.
Enjoyed a 4 course menu with wine pairing for lunch this Sunday. It was mezze followed by grill broadbill, saffron roasted chicken as main and a dessert composed from dark chocolate, Persian cherries and rosewater granita.
On the wine side it was one white from the Melbourne region, a white from Portugal, a french Beaujolais and a Sherry from Portugal.
Overall is was good, well presented and served. The mezzes were tasty. The fish was not spectacular in my opinion. The chicken was well cooked, and I loved the saffron sauce. THE highlight was the dessert: different textures from smooth to crunchy, delicate taste of the ice cream and rosewater granita balance by the power of the dark chocolate. It was spectacular!

It was a fantastic experience, we couldn't fault the food at all. Every dish was spot on and delicious. We ended up going for the 4 course degustation which was very substantial and filling, we loved the lamb and the desserts were outstanding.
The drinks were also amazing.
Sadly the biggest disappointment was the waiter attending to us (Steve?).
His attitude was a bit disappointing, whenever he placed dishes down, he was always in a hurry to leave the table and his attention to detail was disappointing.
The other staff members were spot on.
Go for the food and ambiance. We would go back if we come back to Melbourne.

4 of us sat in the largest lounge booth for dinner which was just stunning visually, the place looks fantastic and gives a relaxed warm vibe.
Stuff were nothing short of amazing and professional really going above and beyond.
The food! My goodness the foooooood!
I have never had anything like it and it was incredible.
This place is a must go to !

Went to Maha for my birthday. The place itself looks very intimate and cosy. Although wasn't very happy with the food, but the cocktails were delicious.
We ordered Soufra menu - 90$ per person. Portions were quite small and the only decent meal was the main - slow cooked lamb shoulder. Wasn't struck on the side (freekeh, rice and black lentils), all three had different textures and didn't balance together very well, the dish was dry.
Desserts were very plain and way too sweet, I couldn't eat them either, so had to get more cocktails instead.
The food here just didn't match my expectations and the price you pay for it. I would only return for the cocktails at the bar.

Dined here last night with the GF - both the food and the cocktails were great, but what was really excellent was the service.
From the moment we entered we were welcomed warmly, and were treated really well throughout the night.
Our main waiter Dirk was outstanding in particular, he talked us through our meal and gave us awesome recommendations, and most meaningful to us he treated us like family and it really made the night special.
Thanks a lot guys.

Beautiful food and friendly service! Nice, cosy atmosphere! Very good options for vegetarian.

Dined here to celebrate our second wedding anniversary. Such a beautiful presentation of Middle Eastern feast. Such an exciting and fun concept to dine.
Dinner started with a bang. An array of small plates that sparked our palates. The hummus was the best that we had so far. Creamy, savory and full of goodness. Turkish bread was wonderful. The best for me was the cured swordfish. Such a tiny and thin slice of fish could produce such a flavor bomb.
The pre-main courses were amazing. The greatest lamb ribs with pomegranate. Crispy crusty on the outside, so delicate on the inside, fell apart from the bone. The delicate fat with the acidity from pomegranate was such a beautiful marriage.
Lamb shoulder was super tender. Full of flavor with the freshness of the tabouleh. Persian rice was a nice companion, balanced with nutty crunch from the seeds.
Dessert was unique and fresh. Rice and cardamom ice cream was the best. Really clean and fresh, a perfect palate cleanser, balanced with a burnt and nutty crunch from the toasted sesame nougat. Turkish delight inside a doughnut with rose and honey drizzle was a clever and brilliant snack.
Brilliant meal. Can see why it's on Zomato's Best of Melbourne collection.

Brilliant food and service. Not sure why others have complained about serving sizes or lack of flavours, we were very full by the end of lunch and the food was simply incredible. I went with a chef and he was blown away by the food too. The dishes were timed perfectly and the cocktail mixologist deserves a hefty pay rise...his drinks were amazing. Staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. Overall exactly what you want from a fine dining experience.

The food is amazing, the restaurant has great atmosphere and the staff are first class. Highly recommend

A mixed dining experience between spectacular food and odd service. Arrived at 21:15 for dinner and asked to be seated which seemed to require the manager's permission. Requested still water twice and then served sparkling. Mid-meal, was asked to relocate from my seat which wasn't a problem because I was compensated with wine. The food, absolutely amazing and very generous serving sizes. Had a great chat to the bar man also - super friendly. Everyone was nice but just a tad disjointed this evening - food overcame all - delish.

Have both dined in and had providoor order. Both were fantastic, loved the food, wine and atmosphere when I've been into MAHA but I equally loved how they set you up for a similar experience with the providoor instructions. Very clever and so much food!

Middle-Eastern fine dining with degustation options. Quite dark with interchangeable.Middle-Eastern vibe music along with R&B. The volume is not overbearing, the staff are attentive. The bar is small and well-stocked, the current cocktail and wine list is excellent. The prices are reasonable from 85 to 125 dollars per head degustation. Highly recommended of you got.a spare hour or two ans want to try new tastes.

Maha is a fine dine restaurant serving Middle Eastern cuisine. The food was good - above average, but could have been better. Also, the menu has very limited choices. The restaurant is a quiet place - great for quiet meetings over lunch or for discussions. The staff was friendly and helpful - described the dishes served and helped with the wine selections. They have a great wine selection. Restaurant ambience was pleasant.

Walking into the restaurant instantly sends you into a place of luxury with helpful hosts and hostess greeting you at the entrance. The space itself is very dark with beautiful lighting and wall art transporting you to another place.
The food was delicious. We went for the 6 course share menu and they were very accommodating with differing dietary requirements on the table. We had great service on the day with food being brought out and cleared at a good pace.
Cannot recommend enough and would love to come back again!

I visited Maha as part of a small team work function, the elegant layout and design of the place is amazing.
We had the 4 course option which contained good portion sizes of fresh and flavoursome foods, my favourite dish would be between the flat bread with hummus and the Turkish delight doughnuts. I also enjoyed enjoyed the large beer selection.
The atmosphere is the restaurant was palpable, I would recommend this place to many others and would definitely come back.

I ordered the Vegan Souffra menu via Providoor for my partner's birthday.
The food was incredible, and the added suggested playlists, serving style and wine recommendations made it absolutely perfect. We were able to forget we were eating at home and in a lockdown, just for a short while. Thank you Maha.

Wonderful dining experience. Delicious meal, great flavours, atmosphere and service all outstanding. We arrived with a big appetite and chose the 6 Course Dinner menu and struggled to get through it all. Highly recommended.

We ate Maha on our 32nd Anniversary last Thursday 16 September. We just had to write and thank you for the best eating experience of any of the Providoor restaurants we have tried. It was generous, faultlessly presented, beautifully flavoursome - a real pleasure to eat. We enjoyed it so much (had the $160 meal) that we have recommended it to our family and friends. We live in Mt Eliza and not many people realised that Maha come out to the Mornington Peninsula.
Anyway just had to enthuse and realise how important feedback is!!
We are looking back with great pleasure and hope to experience it soon again.

We went there for their express burger and beer lunch special and were satisfied. Soft shell crab burger was delicious and served with a Cisk. I quite liked the Cisk, but it would have been good to be offered a choice of beer. Service was prompt and the ambience top notch. Will come back again.

Amazing service and very friendly, professional staff. The vegan soufra is delicious and the dessert was especially tasty. The only reason I have not given 5 stars is because although the food was great, it wasn't mind-blowing. For the price, I would expect just slightly more unusual flavour combinations and techniques. Also, I would have loved a little more bread in the Meze, as there was a lot of dip and only one small piece of bread per person. Overall though, wonderful experience.

When you walk out from lunch at 4 30pm you know you've enjoyed yourself. Absolutely beautiful food and the service was unequalled. Disappointed we didn't see Shane.

Atmosphere was great. Quality dinning room.
Food was tasty. Menu did give you any ala carte options and felt it was a bit over priced

Had a great dinner night. Amazing authentic Middle Eastern cuisine. Very efficient and friendly staff

Service, food and experience was 10/10. They made our anniversary dinner extra special. Can't wait to come back. Definitely try the 6 course option!

We always love coming back here. So delicious and such great service. Very accommodating of dietary requirements and such a great range of food and flavours brought to the table - even just with the 4 course option! Highly recommended.

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Melbourne. The food here is always exceptional and the waiter always seems to be able to pair a perfect set of wines.
They cater really well for special dietary needs. Last time we went we had the four course lunch (which was extraordinary) and one of our group was vegetarian, they made the vegetarian special dishes so well, I almost thought of converting, until the lamb came out and it confirmed my meat easting status for some time to come,
This is a wonderful environment of excellent food, beverage and staff.
My only criticism is that it can be a little dark for most occasions - and can make reading the menu difficult - but just order the 2,4 or 6 course meal and you will be fine.
Maha also run cooking classes which I had heard are amazing - so that is next on the list for me.

can't fault anything really from the food side.....perfectly balanced....modern takes on simple dishes but keeps true soul of them......only gripe could be that the decor needs a major face lift....too dark dingy and depressing.......though I am more than happy to put up eating exceptional food in a bat cave if it tastes as good as this and is pure value for money......hard to find in this era of look over taste and value

Once in a lifetime experience! Incredible staff and equally as wonderful food. Definately not the cheapest of places, but you will be served much more than the cost.

Great service! The food there is creative and fun. The appetizer is really great to start off with!
