Nice environment. It’s actually quite enjoyable sitting in the restaurant if there are less people. Tables are too closed which means you are easily to hear what other people conversations.

A standard McDonald's for South Melbourne. The building is nothing special for McDonald's and the food is the same. The staff are friendly and were quick to provide my meal. The reason I gave it 3 stars was because the store feels old and dated. If this is how McDonald's operates their business I don't recommend eating here. The dated building is clearly a representation and reflection of their corporate culture where money is more important than the look and upkeep of their buildings.

I like McDonald's. Even though the food is not healthy and some burgers are bland but the place is familiar no matter which one you pick and flavors are comforting. The interaction is kept to a minimum. On weekends and weeknights this place can get crowded and noisy.

Always seem to end up sitting in the waiting bay for ages. Last time I asked for lactose free milk in my tea, the order went through as full cream milk even after I reiterated it has to be lactose free. Beware if you have any serious allergies etc.

It’s ok, I can appreciate these people work hard and long hours. I’ve been there many times,uncountable over the years. It’s great they are always open. I ordered off the app. Went drive through. The guy kept serving the same lane so Decided to drive through as I had already ordered. He Apologised when I got to the first window so that was nice, I gave him gratitude. Then I went to window 3. The man at the window stated the payment didn’t go through and he didn’t have facilities at that window for me to pay & that I would have to drive around and back through drive through again, I thought it was a strange request, he was also so close to the POS at the counter. It had gotten busy so I asked if I could just pay inside. He said yes. I parked went straight in, I would have been approximately 20 seconds. The person didn’t know about the situation at the counter, all staff members eyes were down, the team’s situational awareness was non existent. When clarifying my order the person was yelling what I had ordering at me, I found this embarrassing. There were people all around, people without masks on, it was dirty. Then I had to wait for another 10 minutes or so for the order, no sorry, nothing. Didn’t even look at me when handing the bag over. #drainer

Just your usual McDonalds during lockdown quarantine. It must have been time for the local police to change shift as there was a few of these men in uniform queued up for something to eat. Even though it was busy, the service was very quick&l & efficient & the food was of a fairly high standard - as much as it can be for McDonalds food anyway!!

Small McDonald's under the freeway. Usually very busy and only a small carpark. Beware that you WILL get fined here for overstaying the, I think, 45 minute free parking, and you have to have a ticket in your car window. Food is standard McDonald's, quick, fresh and tasty.

It's not often that Macca's especially the busy stores gets 3 stars and that's because on the day and it was breakfast I was expecting the usual Macca's service. Unfortunately it didn't happen the reason as far as I could guess was short staff or more than usual drive through traffic. In either case they didn't do much to fix the problem. Now South Melbourne Macca's is one of the top earners and it's 24/7 so having to wait more than the usual amount of time is not something that happens often. Why they couldn't get staff in don't know and my concern but I had to wait a lot longer to get breakfast. One thing for sure is that this building hasn't changed at all since I've known it. And the drive through has always a long queue. Obviously the single drive through and the fact it's not that straight forward in and out is not helping. Something for HQ to consider doing something about it. And since this virus has changed everything we won't know if that drive through will ever change. One more thing this review should have been finished a long time ago. And I do apologise for the delay but the reason I remember why I gave it the rating I did is because I've never had to wait that long before. Again I apologise for the delay but the rating stands because it happened

A bit confusing to enter and exit this place. Also this is in a busy area of the city so you may sometimes get cold chips and burgers which are prepared to catch up with the rush. This stores policies regarding delivery orders is terrible, they wait till they have 3 delivery orders fully prepared, before handing them over to the drivers, that means the 1st and 2nd order can be sitting there for 10 additional minutes or longer, even though the driver is also waiting... they will simply just grab the orders and take them to the end of the counter where the drivers are waiting. Its time that you respect drivers, just as much as walk in customers... because it's drivers that risk a bad rating as a result of the restaurants actions.

I just got back a back on the road after about 5 years of not driving my unregistered car in 2015 becuase the roads were too dangerous. One of the first things I did was getting the car and I drove into the city to go to the railway hotel bottle shop where I used to go when I was homeless and in a car for two months (great adventure and great memories), something comes alive when I break from the retreat, and then go back again after 5/8 years. Life is a dream. I wanted to go to the McDonald's at Crown but walked in to an empty street and empty parking lots and underground parking all dead thinking Crown was closed, through the back where the fountain entrance is they }let{ me in!! Oui Oui.. but everything was shut, and there were no people inside. So in had McDonald's at City Road and was treated very very nicely. People all over the world of Melbourne I didn't know go to McDonald's in the city and eat there, also a good night drive for respecting the soul which needs emotional consule, party people eat there on Fridays Saturdays and Sundays. Go you!

It's the usual McDonald corner shop. You order, you get, you go away. Staff is less (may be due to covid layoffs). Don't plan to stay and eat. Nothing worth that. I guess they also don't expect it.

There were few cars on the drive through in front of me but the staff was very friendly and helpful and really impressed me with the service standards as they are only young kids. The food was fantastic and fresh. Will go back again soon and recommend it to everyone. Would like to dine in next time to see the difference between the drive through service and dine in service.

The service was fast and super friendly. However, I did not receive the correct food. I ordered the $6 Big Mac & Cheeseburger deal (such a steal!) and asked for no cheese on both burgers (lactose sensitivity) and received both burgers with cheese. I’ve tried placing this exact same order at other locations and it always comes back with cheese when I ask for it without. Not sure if it’s a kiosk error or if the kitchen isn’t reading the orders correctly. I’m hopeful they will get it right one day. The customer service was great and they replaced the burger for me. I would come back to this location as it’s very modern and tech-savvy (USB ports at tables, charging stations etc.)

Interesting to say the least. Poor girls behind the counter were verbally abused by no less than 4 different drug/alcohol affected males. They handled each situation in a calm and professional manner. No wonder they have 3 security guards. I hope the staff here get a higher pay. Nobody deserves to be treated like that.

It has a nice atmosphere and design. The table services always gives it that extra star but during lunch time, this place gets quite busy. The only problem with this restaurant is the parking ticket requirement. If you forget to grab a "free" ticket, than you're definitely in for a nasty surprise.

This place is one of the busiest McDonald's outlet that I've been to. After a massive renovation last year, this place now become cozier than ever. I always have the happy meal for my son and a cup their amazing barista coffee for myself. Standard latte or flat white, with tow sugars packets. There's an option of table service, so you don't have to wait in line. You will have your food delivered to you. All good!

This McDonald's is the cheapest McDonald's I have found in Melbourne. The manager told me that all McDonald's owned by McDonald's and not a franchisee would all have those low prices, so there's something to look for if you like McDonald's. The place was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful, but one thing irked me, that was the homeless/drug addict asleep at the back tables near the toilets. I told the staff about the sleeping person and they said that they would handle that right away and called the police. I don't know if that was the right way to go about it but I had left before the police arrived. Because of the cleanliness, the friendly, helpful staff and the cheap prices, I give this McDonald's four stars.

recently went to McDonald's South Melbourne to get a quick bite and use the toilets was very pleasantly surprised has changed a fair bit since last I was there the place has been modernised and is spotless including the toilets which are usually disgusting @ some McDonald's stores particulary Abbotsford

Saturday arvo drive-thru snack. Chips were rubbish. Soggy and nearly cold. Redeemed by a decent 1/4 pounder freshly made. What happened to the diced onion though?? Now its big chunks of raw burny filth. Cost cutting i guess.

Cleverly located underneath the freeway, the vibe is good herewith lots of tourists. Only complaint is that the tables are fixed to the floor, and don't allow enough room for larger people to sit comfortably.

Shopping at South Melbourne and have a sudden craving for a Big Mac, well the place has a great location and has a drive thru as well. Great fast service, my wait time was less than a minute.You can't compare fast food joints to full on proper burger places.

One of the first few restaurants in Victoria with Create Your Taste. Customize your meal and order it using the touchscreen booths, pay using your card, take a number/beeper, sit and wait for your meal to be brought out to you. High quality burgers, comparable to other gourmet burger outlets.

One of the cleaner Macca's around Melbourne CBD. Only issues: at certain rush hour times they turn off the self ordering kiosks and takes a while to get your food due to the giant line of uber-eats, foodora, & deliveroo drivers

Went in for a coffee and wanted to work with my laptop and the staff were great but there were some druggies and we're taking the piss and i just wanted them to leave but they were talking their time... Shame, as it wrecked my experience 🙄
