Impressive architectural design and good atmosphere. I heard that the design here has won the design award, it deserves its name! Rich variety of food! Seafood spaghetti with white sauce is the best I have ever tasted! The large portion of their main course! The only disadvantage is that the parking in front of the door is only 1 hour, and there are not many parking spaces, so you can only park on the streets on both sides.

Great restaurant with great ambiance. Ibterior design was unique and modern especially for the more traditional area which made it very much a stand out. A bit of preamble before the review; I sometimes just see a place that looks pretty and then check out their menu (and reviews of course) and take a gamble. Sometimes, that pays off in dividends, as is the case with Piccolino's. So, to reiterate, the decor is lovely. Really eye-catching. They sat us upstairs and we could look down on the bar and the rest of the restaurant and it was busy. The menu is great. There's a good variety of options, and the food is reasonably priced. The waitresses were all quite friendly, and most entrees came to us quite quickly. Some of the entrees took a while to come, by which time, the first people to have received theirs, were already done with theirs (a big pet peeve). All the food was delicious. There was just one unhappy diner in our group, and rightly so. The fries were COATED in salt. Practically inedible. I don't know why restaurants insist on doing this. However, everything else was practically faultless. When dessert came out slower than the steak did, they realized they simply forgot somewhere along the line to get the order in and they then got onto it fairly quickly. With that said, the Chocolate Mousse is one of the nicest I've ever, ever had. Overall, I'd really recommend Piccolino's. It's good food in a beautiful setting. The one big tip I can give you, is to definitely book online. I called several times to make a booking, and it was just too painful. They're rude on the phone and one person left me hanging to the point I heard people ordering their meals. The online booking system is a Godsend, so definitely do it that way when you plan your visit there.

Excellent experience right outside of the CBD. Staff were very attentive and the dining atmosphere upstairs is fantastic. Parking is a little tricky during busy times so make note of that. Cocktail: Long-island, dangerously good - you don't feel the alcohol and then it hits you! Garlic bread was really tasty, it would have been better accompanied with some mozzarella on top. Chicken Tuscan pizza was cooked perfectly, right amount of ingredients. Chips were very fresh and crunchy, which is always satisfying! The gnocchi funghi was very satisfying: I always make an effort to try different types of gnocchi. Definitely a dish NOT TO BE MISSED. Great service, great experience, would bring a big group next time. 5/5

First time visiting the restaurant. Looking spectacular and well designed. We ordered different dishes, including 3 kinds of delicious pizzas, gnocchi in mashroom and cream sauce, all were very lovely and we enjoyed them all. The only dish we did not like was the porterhouse steak which was overcooked. We orders deserts, all were good ! We asked the staff to put some candles on top and they were happy to help and sing with is happy birthday. We will definitely be back.

I felt rushed and harried by the wait staff. The worst thing was that our mains came out a minute after our starters so they sat going cold while we ate our starters. On the booking it showed there was a time limit for the table, so why were we being pressured to finish our meals so quickly, well before we had to return the table? It was like the waiters were hovering over us, taking our plates away as soon as we looked like we were finished, even though we weren't. We had to ask the staff to leave some of the food which we were still picking at. Otherwise, the staff were friendly and polite. The food was good, but nothing particularly interesting or exciting on the menu, with prices a little higher than I would expect for the food and service. The restaurant is beautiful and I will eat there again, however, I'll order my mains after I've finished my starters next time.

hi there, (in response to Peter and Alex F) I was sitting next to you that night and would have to say that I definitely disagree with you. You were very disrespectful to the multiple staff that had approached you, apologising for the way you felt about the dishes. I was honestly very amazed how the owner was even offering that the entire dinner was completely free of charge. I had the florentine for dinner, and would like to give the biggest thank you to the chef, which the owner said, had been in the business of 15 years. It was by far the best veal I have ever tasted. As the owner said, this restaurant isn’t for you. Thankfully, leaving more room for me and my family. Thank you to the team at piccolinos!! you guys are amazing. My first experience there, and you will definitely expect to see me back !!

Not impress with the place. Manager was abrupt and was made to wait when there was lots of empty tables. Staff asked us 3 times whether we are done. Which they should be able to see if guests are still eating. Salmon was dry, risotto was too creamy, over powering cream taste and unable to taste the flavour of chicken and mushroom.

This is an excellent Italian restaurant, hidden away in a suburban shopping strip. Honestly some of the best pasta I've eaten that wasn't made by my Nonna, and the other dishes on the menu we're all delicious. Set in a wonderful high ceilinged building, definite go to for date night.

When we walked in for the first time I was impressed with the visual appearance. Very warm and appealing. We had Lamb shanks with gravy and mash potatoes which was very tasty. Meat fell off the bones. We also tried the chef special Lobster tail spaghetti with chilli. That was very nice and just a little spicy. I thought it could have had just a little more seasoning. Overall a pleasant experience. $75 for 2 meals, glass of wine and herbal tea.

Nice, warm atmosphere with really yellow lighting but it looks great in person. Hosted our large group without any issues and accommodated the coeliac well. Friendly staff, great food and reasonable prices. Was some confusion over glasses from the staff and we ended up with red wine goblets for champagne for some reason but it just meant some extra to toast!

This is a great local restaurant with an attractive interior which is amazingly visible from the main road when it’s all lit up. Wine list has a great selection and the menu is well designed with a broad selection to cater to large groups. Highly recommend the gnocchi Napoli and the seafood risotto.

Great atmosphere as mentioned by many other reviewers. The food is lovely, but it can be pricey compared to the other Italian restaurants. Definitely recommend for a special event or celebration with family or partner.

Been in this neighbourhood for 10 years and checked this restaurant out for the first time tonight. Was a little skeptical because fancy spots don’t always = good food. Omg the food was unbelievable. I’ve never frothed over chicken so much. Cooked to perfection. The roast vegetables with the cacciatore was amazing. And the tiramisu, I can talk for days about how good the food was. Excellent ambience, such a fancy date spot. Excellent customer service too. Staff were lovely. Need to book in advance though because I’ve tried making a last minute booking a few times and failed. Looking forward to my next visit.

Ordered fried mozzarella, linguine marinara and prosciutto pizza. The highlight is linguine marina; very delicious the seafood was generous. Pizza was good as well but would prefer DOC on Lygon. The disappointment part is the fried mozzarella because the napoli dipping sauce has a WIRE in it probably from the those metal dishwashing sponge which is disgusting.

The food there is amazing. I went with my Wife and her sister. And we were amazed by the food. The Chefs there take real Pride in there work simply amazing. The upstairs area is really really nice. The whole design of the place looks amazing. It can be pricy but most definitely worth it. The only downside is that the waitresses. Were definitely not the best at all which is a real shame, I’ve heard from quite a few friends the the waitresses are aweful. But if you can see pass the waitresses it’s a quiet magnificent restaurant.

What’s good about Piccolino ?Just about everything in the restaurant from the manager, staff, chef, taste, presentation on the plate to the interiors is simple amazing. My wife took me to this restaurant because she knows I really love pizza and I was not disappointed. I’m looking forward to going back again to try more desserts and cocktails.

Very straight forward easy Menu. The view from the eating area upstairs is stunning, always seems to be super busy. I did find though the last time we ate and seated upstairs we sat right under the air vent which was quite cool and it wasn't a hot day- also being so super busy the phone kept ringing and seemed to take forever to be answered did my head in a bit as it was extremely loud. The design of the space was fantastic with high arched timber ceilings. Food was tasty and very satisfying and the kids menu was one of the most value packed kids menus I've come across. Allows the adults to splurge a little bit more on cocktails. : )

I am rating based on 2 dine in experiences here. Positives- The food for the most part was lovely, the food that wasn’t so nice was removed off the bill which was good to see, fantastic kids meal packs that are very well priced, quick service and the architecture is impressive. Negative- My first experience at Piccolino was with my partner. We were upstairs which is quite tight however the issue that night was around the two female staff members that were standing next to our table most the night gossiping loudly. It made our experience not feel very romantic or relaxing. The second experience was a group booking. I had booked a table downstairs. I was very specific that this table had to be downstairs as a member of my family had just had a knee replacement and the stairs are quite steep. I stressed the importance of this more then once. I booked in person and confirmed over the phone. Unfortunately when we arrived to the restaurant, our table was upstairs. The man serving us said no one had written the table needed be downstairs and they couldn’t give us a downstairs table because there was another group that night that looked like they had some older members who have an issue with the stairs also. I don’t see how this was our problem as we booked weeks in advance but there was no other resolution. Luckily we were able to assist her and she wasn’t in a wheelchair or something because then we would have all been turned away despite our booking. A tip that would definitely make it a better experience also is having some beer on tap like most restaurant. Unfortunately it’s all bottled.

i have eaten spaghetti marinara all over the world looking for the best. Those on top of my list are foremost in my memory and i could write a book on them. NY, Singapore, Honolulu, Perth, Mudgee: I dream of them still. Tonight i forgot hundreds of them all. I found the best yet. Piccolino, what exquisite deep and rich flavours. Not overly proportioned pasta to weigh you down halfway, but seafood a plenty in olive oil, garlic and stock base tossed with a wide and balanced fresh selection of crustaceans making a pure symphony of ocean delight to excite the eyes and nose first, exploding in the quintessential flavour profile of this most popular dish. Be sure to check Paul is on duty in the kitchen the night you book as several chefs rotate ive been informed by staff who try their best to be consistent. staff were friendly and attentive, not too noisy for an old bloke like me. now i have the task of getting every one i know back for the same dish to impress them with my new find. I recently had a delightful evening at their recently renovated restaurant. The decor and lighting is truly award winning, with beautifully warm tones and wood panels. We shared pizzas between our table. They were reasonably priced, and the recommended lamb pizza in particular was a stand out. Great place for a catchup with friends, I will definitely be going back

Great place for a nice meal. The renovated restaurant looks beautiful, with huge ceilings and lots of natural light. The giant centrepiece pizza oven fits the space so well. Pizza is good, the donuts for dessert are so delicious, coffee was just ok but not bad. It did feel that the traditional family restaurant style of cooking is still there, even though the interior is very pretty. 25 years in the hospitality industry is incredible so well done.

The food was great and the servings were very generous. The staff were very friendly and helpful and overall the experience was very good. The only reason I have docked the place by 1 star is that the background noise is quite loud and it's hard to carry on a conversation, probably because of the polished concrete floors and timber wall cladding. Don't get me wrong, still a recommended place but be aware of the noise issue.

I really needed a night out and this place was the perfect location for a mid week after work relax. The food, wine, staff and the very sociable owner were just lovely. At Piccolino you are instantly comfortable as you walk through the large glass door and greated by a friendly waiter. As you wait for your table your eyes are captivated by the tall wooden interior with black scafolding and warm orange lighting. The walls are carefully crafted and very uniquely shaped pieces of wood laid side by side like a puzzle which sweep around the whole place joining the walls to the very high roof. The pattern and light color of the wood softens the enormity of the structure bringing warmth, comfort but a sense of space to the patron. The building stands tall amongst the small shops huddling on each side of a even smaller shopping strip. Looking from the outside the building weirdly blends with the neighboring shops as if it wasn't there. This place is one of a kind. The feeling of this beautiful place is a hard to put into words and I will do it no justice but gosh you just have to at least walk through the front door to see the design for yourself.

Its has a nice ambiance but the Veal main was ordinary, tough and not something I'll have again.Staff were excellent and attentive. The Chef let the side down as far as both veal dishes were concerned Florentine & Trifolata that we had. Presentation was also lacking just slapped down on the plates and smothered in gravy. I would have rated two stars except the staff were very good.

The gnocchi was yum but the doughnuts were delicious! Both were cooked very well. The doughnuts were light, fluffy and coated in cinnamon sugar. The restaurant had a very nice atmosphere. The staff were attentive and service was good. The only thing that tainted our experience was the cold wind that came through each time the door was opened and stayed opened until one of the staff closed it again. Sit away from the door if you can.

The Margarita au bufala was oily on account of being covered with regular mozzarella as well as the small amount of nice bufala mozzarella. Worth the trip to Mount Waverly. Beautiful place - didn't get to go upstairs though but it looks phenomenal and the design is just unique and special. I need to come back at night during winter to see it all lit up - the day was exceptional can imagine how spectacular it is at night. The food was excellent. Very fresh produce. Chicken, Seafood was all very, very fresh and delicious. Great servings too. Good service. Highly recommended! will be back
