Took the family here for birthday dinner and was a great night out. My advice is the seafood platter for 2 is suited for 3 people, and platter for 4 for 5 people. There were 4 of us and we did the platter for 4 and we did not finish everything, not for the lack of trying. Fair to say that the platter is huge. The seafood platter is great, the highlights for me were the half lobster with cheese, the croutons were exceptionally good and Moreton bay bugs. Staff were very attentive and came to clean our table regularly, providing wet towels, bins to dispose of rubbish.

Amazing experience! I love it. ♥️ Platter for two, ( we eat 3) $141 Fresh seafood on top and Variety well cooked and fried under. Oyster shoot! , And my best was seafood chowder! Awwww yummy 😍 + Nice dessert for my birthday. Excellent service, they attend to all my special requests. Recommended to %100 to all seafood lovers who want a true and varied seafood experience. Came here to satisfy my heavily pregnant wife's craving for chowder and it didn't disappoint. Classic, rich, smoky chowder with an incredibly generous array of fresh seafood, and a hearty rustic texture. Also enjoyed some fresh oysters, crispy whole snapper, and some tender, delicate octopus too. And a bowl of chips we didn't really need, but very happy we got them as they were perfectly crispy and generously seasoned - to the last chip!Everything was delicious, and the service was friendly, attentive and not overbearing. An excellent lunch, definitely worth it (~$75 each including some takeaway seafood stock from the shop).

Great seafood restaurant with a couple of non-seafood options. They’ve got a really special bloody marry shots which called oyster shots, meaning you get a oyster in you shot. Great taste! As they’re fresh type of seafood restaurants, they only serve two types of oysters, natural or cooked which was cheesy, but served with different sauces. Really fresh and spot on! Then we shared, Paella for two, Mushroom risotto and shelly with garlic prawn, which mushroom risotto was the star of the night for me, however the paella was nice as we expected. And, OMG! Desserts arrived and they were so yum. I seriously couldn’t stop eating... that something I’d never expected from the seafood restaurant. Awesome presentation and the taste was so bang on.

Everything’s lovely about the place …. Warm welcome through to the table which made us feel we are in good hands. Adam calls himself “Adam the waiter” which made the visit more pleasant. His suggestion with the food were greatly appreciated by us. Enjoyed the oysters prawns and Paella. We also know what to order the next time we visit, which I am sure will be soon Guys it’s a must visit.

1 December 2021, with three ex-workmates for pre-Chrissy lunch. JF (staff member) was bright, helpful and attentive. Decor neat, clean and on trend. My colleagues each had Oysters Kilpatrick (Pacific) which they both critiqued as excellent in size preparation, presentation and flavour. I chose a dozen 'natural' Sydney with Yuzu Vinaigrette and I was disappointed. The oysters were poorly presented (too hastily shucked), quite small and I had to deal with too many 'shell chips'. While the oysters tasted as fresh as I would have expected and were complemented by the Yuzu dressing, I could not help thinking, "This is an 'Oyster Bar', I have ordered the specialty dish and have been disappointed". To add insult to injury the very best opened oysters now 'retail' (not wholesale) in Melbourne for no more than $24 per dozen, and given the preparation requirements (bed of rock salt and a bowl of Yuzu) to ask $52 at the table is IMHO a bit rich. OK, thus end my specific criticism. My meal experience was to some extent redeemed by excellent Salt and Pepper Calamari. Crispy panko breadcrumbs over tender juicy calamari and accompanied by an equally tangy and tasty salad ... delicious. My mates equally enjoyed battered fish and chips that they assured me was equally tasty. Peroni was $8 a pop and all up $278 for 3. I would have rated higher were it not for the disappointment of my oysters presented at an 'Oyster Bar' and what IMHO are value/pricing issues.

We drive past this place quite often, and it is generally quite busy. So naturally, the crowd attracts. We went here with a group of 4, had to try a range of oysters and yes they were good. Other dishes we got was the sashmi, mussel pot and friend calamari. To be honest, they all tasted great. The place is more of an upscale experience. For the average joe like me, it's quite pricy. This will be a nice place for a date, but maybe not for a first date 😉 Enjoy the photos i've attached.

We don’t eat out often these days as we find most places are over rated and “service” is more about being hip and cool than looking after the customer. However, we ate here for lunch (group of 6) last week and were thoroughly impressed!! It is one of the best seafood places we’ve ever eaten at, and one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in years. We got the seafood platter for 4, which was more than enough for 6 people. Prawns, sashimi and mussels were 10/10. The food is amazing and plentiful, the service was fast, genuine and friendly, they brought us water for our dogs, and were happy to accept multiple entertainment cards and split the bill 3 ways. There’s no awkwardness about trying to get you to leave a tip on the eftpos machine, which I hate. We weren’t forgotten because we were sitting outside. So delicious! Would definitely come back again!

Food was good, but not out of this world good. The idea of the platter was great.. You get to sample a bit of everything. Oysters were fresh so that's a very big plus. What I didn't like was the service. The guy who served us was excellent, but I went there on a Wednesday evening and the place just seemed understaffed. Took awhile to get anyone's attention for more water, sauce or the bill. If you do visit, be sure to give their platters a go.

Richmond Oysters is what I would call an up market offering in terms of pricing. The food is great and definitely makes your mouth water. Everything from the oysters, chowder (Shao-dair? Shao-dair? It's Chowdah! Say it right!) and desserts are excellent quality.

A very pleasant dining experience. We ordered a range of cocktails and wine to accompany our seafood platter which I highly recommend for those who want to try different flavours and techniques of cooking. Atmosphere is suited for an intimate meal, to social group gatherings as tables and areas ate set up to accommodate for both and everything in between. You are able to taste the quality and freshness in the produce especially their natural oysters. All the wait staff were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive to our needs. We will definitely be returning.

Awesome customer service! After serving all the food we ordered, they gave us chopsticks! Even we didn’t ask for that, they noticed we might more comfortable with chopsticks. This made us feel be cared. In addition to this, after meal I asked for a cup of hot water, although they might not have this service, they still got hot water from the coffee machine and put it in a small tea pot with a piece of lemon sit next to the mug. The moment I saw this, I was soooo touched. They were really perfectly and truely care about their customer! Food was really great. So definitely will come again and recommend this place to all my friends!

Absolutely lovely seafood platter with some of the freshest catches as usual. We've been coming here to dine in so many times since we moved to Melbourne. However, the customer service was a complete let down this time. We were dining outside for almost over 1hr and no one checked on us to see how we were going while the other tables nearby were all checked on regularly. Even when we've already cleared the plate, no one came out to clean up or offer us the dessert menu. Quite a big disappointment to what, otherwise, could have been one of the best seafood restaurants in Melbourne.

My sister and I popped in on for a quick meal before going to an event nearby. We didnt have the time or the budget set aside for a seafood platter, but had a wonderful shared meal of mussels, salad and fig and honey garnished saganaki, washed down with some yummy prosecco. The wait staff warmly greeted us and were really helpful with making sure our meals were GF (we are both Coeliacs), were extremely generous and so friendly 😊 An added bonus was being seated next to the aquarium. While we love our seafood, and will definitely back with family friends, we will always remember and appreciate the wonderful service we got at here - a true rarity these days!

Table for 2. First time patronage, ordered the platinum platter for 2 and was completely full/satisfied for the amount of food we received and the price was reasonable. The platter had a good variety of fresh seafood and was designed nicely with both hot and cold elements. The staff were also attentive and kept patrolling the area we were seated in inside the restaurant. I'll be back again sometime in the future. One VERY small minor adjustment is the amount of salt in the tomato sauce that went with the mussel pot. Even though I have a high salt tolerance, 'twas a little too salty for my taste.

My very first experience at a seafood restaurant, and omg what a fabulous menu we had! Hot and cold seafood shared platters,with mouth watering Moreton Bay bugs, scallops, prawns, a huge variety of fish, mussels, octopus and more, salads, delicious crunchy chips, sagnaki , and extra serves of incredible oysters! Four stars only because no one ever gets five! Not the first time there but it was my first visit after Covid Lockdowns. The place looked clean and presentable and prices were reasonable. Took two Sydney friends here last evening as they wanted seafood. Staff were very welcoming and accomodating throughout the dining experience. They suggested not to over order and we are so glad and grateful as the platter we ordered was a very decent sized platter with top quality seafood. What I loved about the platter is that there was not a single potato chip like many other restaurants offer. It's all pure delicious seafood. Oyster shooters are a must and I am so coming back for the dozen oysters and a bottle for $58. Thank you for a great dining experience.

The service is what this place is about. Everyone was very friendly helpful and accommodating. The place was fully booked on a Monday night. We had to sit outside (with no booking) which was fine as well. The food was a tad too salty for my liking. They could do with two third of the salt portion. Overall, the food was cooked well but just missing that little bit balance. Grilled salmon and fried calamari are quite good. Rocket and pine nut salad with pear and parmesan was also nice. Chips are plentiful and crisp. We shall be back with the in laws next month so hoping it will be better then.

If you want a proper seafood feast this is the best place to go. The quality of product is just what you would expect from great seafood restaurant. We booked this restaurant for international guests and ourselves looking for seafood. Lived in Melb for decades and never heard of this place. Well we were really impressed. The staff, Mike from SA in particular, were excellent. They accommodated our special request to try a wide range of seafood. We ended up having 9 different selections including trout tartare, Tas and Sydney oysters, calamari, king prawns, lobster, snapper, salmon, whiting. We all shared it all. Sides we had excellent crunchy chips and baby potatoes in rosemary and garlic and a great pear and pinenut and rocket and lime salad. The wine list was also sensational and Mike was helpful with the selection of wine too. You can see my other many reviews and I have not spoken so highly of another restaurant. All they need to do is improve their music selection and a little work on lighting and ambience and decor and you have yourself 10/10. As it is I would give the food and service 10/10 and wine list 9/10 I would thoroughly recommend you give Richmond Oyster a try. Every single seafood dish was fresh and excellent.

Dined at Richmond Oysters Richmond last night. We went mainly for the Sydney Rock Oysters, only to be told they only had Pacific Oysters. My dinner date said one of her Oysters was really bad and spat it out. We complained. A few of my oysters were a little suspect too. The rest of the meal was great. Overall experience was a bit disappointing. We had dined previously at Richmond Oysters in Oakleigh which was absolutely fabulous. Sadly the Oakleigh restaurant is now permanently closed.

Seafood platter is a good choice, as we were able to get a sample of everything. The oysters were fresh and the bugs were devine. The muscles were covered in a tomato type sauce which was fine, but it did take away from the natural flavour. I'm not convinced it was worth the price ($158) for the platter, but it was enjoyable.

This is our go to restaurant In Richmond when we visit from Phillip Island . We go to the MCG when possible and love to have a meal here. Recently because I wasn’t able to have a fish because of an allergy the staff brought a complimentary sparkling Rosa. How thoughtful, it’s the little things that this restaurant do. Staff are always friendly and the food is sublime . Do yourself a favour dine here.

The mussels were actually my favourite, with the creamy white wine sauce. Amazing. Had to get an order of bread to soak up the sauce. On the other hand... I wasn't impressed with anything else we had really. We also tried the paella, calamari, and oysters...they were ok, but what was really disappointing were our sides. We had a $10 broccoli and almond salad... the broccoli was obviously frozen broccoli heated up with store bought shaved almonds thrown on top. No sauce. I also had a Coke Zero that tasted terrible... again for the price we paid that night, everything should have been on, even the drinks.

He makes us feel very special and has time to explain the meal options and he is excellent at dealing with kids he gave my son crayons and rushed out his hot chips so he would settle... A wonderful casual dinner on New Year's Eve. Salmon sashimi was exquisit. Oysters, which i don't eat but tried on this occasion, were great. Eye fillet steak had great char and nicely cooked with care. My partner's fish, she says, was excellent. Salad was fresh and refreshing. And the creme brulee was delicate, capping off a great meal. Staff were friendly and talkative without being intrusive.

If you are a seafoodaholic, then go here, you won't be disappointed.. The seafood platter is in my top 5, it's got a lot in there and the flavours of the mussels and the sauces if comes with just all go together so nicely let alone all the prawns, bugs, scallops which were all beautiful. We also had Sydney Rock Oysters (natural) and Pacific Oysters Marnay (bechamel & cheese.. baked...yum!). The desert was a golden gaytime flavoured ice cream, it was yum, but you'd struggle to finish one yourself, it is very rich. Overall, really nice place to go to get your seafood fix, I'll be going back, but be warned, you can really rack up the bill here :P
