Smashed the burger, devoured the chips, wanted more. Last week I dropped by after my run and the place was crazy busy, so I said I'd come back. And am I happy I did! The burger was delicious. The chips were to their namesake, ccccrispy! I got the Route 66 Special, a burger with the lot situation (minus the Australian addition of beetroot or pineapple, being an American style burger). The combination of melted cheese on the burger, aioli, relish, and yolk from the egg made for messier eating, but the flavours worked really well. The tomato and lettuce were fresh, making the burger less stodgy. If I were to find a flaw in the burger, It'd be the pattie, it was a little drier from over cooking, but was not burnt. The Super Crunchy Fries were indeed super crunchy. Crispy outside and fluffy insides, they were more chip than fries though, being a bit wider than your typical fries. We ordered online before picking up, interface is easy to use, it also made for less faffing at the store, and a extra time to pick up dessert from the supermarket. Staff are friendly and big smiles welcome you at the store. All in all, delicious food. Great service. Will be back! Update Jan 2022 We got a couple pizzas the other night. Just a simple Margherita and the Basic Veg. They were both delicious, with the Margherita the pick of the night. The basic veg had a good selection of vegetables suited to being roasted in the pizza oven, it had an aioli drizzle over the top invoking the style of Crust. The Margherita was simple as it is destined to be, fresh tomatoes, good amount of cheese and some fresh basil. The basil had been roasted with the rest of the pizza, and would have been more fragrant if some more was placed on top fresh.

It's obvious that the staff at Route 66 burgers pay attention to detail, from the high quality ingredients to their willingness to go beyond the norm for many cooking processes (double cooking fries to make sure they're extra crunchy for example, is something rarely done but makes a huge difference). You'll never be disappointed by food from Route 66, sure they're a bit more expensive than the competition, but compared to their competition the quality is in another league entirely.

Sorry guys, giving two stars just for the Super crunchy fries and grilled bacon. I had one bite and that was enough for me. I had to throw it out or I would have had irritable bowl. Too much cheese and very soggy. I’m sorry to say but it looked more like vomit. The previous owners cheese, bacon and chips were perfect. They nailed the cheese sauce.

We just moved local to these guys and gave them a go and all I can say is Wow! The garlic pizza we had the other night was seriously the best we have ever had and the American styled burgers and loaded fries are absolutely amazing! This also with super friendly service and even go above and beyond after the initial order with Doordash went sour, We highly recommend these guys and will be locals there for sure! Thanks again!

Absolutely stunning burger. Can't believe I never noticed this place on my drives to work. Went in and after being greeted by the very friendly chef, I got myself the Route 66 Burger with some fries and the flavour was out of this world. Definitely coming back for more.

The food here is so good that mid burger you feel obliged to make a review. The food is so good here a person you just met, that when you say you live in Diamond Creek, will mention Route 66 and say 'how good is the southern fried chicken burger??'. Also I often find extra onion rings, what else is better than that?? The chips are heavily salted and its nothing but perfect. The buger buns are soft but never soggy, even when it sits in its wrapping for 20+ minutes! 10/10, best burger place, not even for the local area, in Melbourne I say.

Quick service even though they were flat out, partner loved his burger, said it was great - veggie burger was great and I'm picky with veggie patties! Chips are very nice, we had normal and loaded... loaded was nice but not needed as there normal chips are so good anyway.

Drove past this and circled back after seeing the sign. We just felt like hot dogs. Menu was available online which was handy with a baby in the car. Mum stayed in the car with bub while I ordered. They were kind enough to bring it out to us. Now the food, the chips were fantastic and incredibly delicious. The hot dogs? Amazing. Thanks for asking. Wish we lived closer, it'd be our regular burger/hot dog joint for sure.

Always great, consistent service. The menu in general has a good selection of burgers and chips, some of which include the special burger sauce and chip seasoning as well. Always well cooked fresh menu items, the cheesy fries are the absolute BOMB! best I have tested, as well as the burgers, well balanced and great tasty, if you are in Diamond Creek, stop by Route 66 burgers and give it a go. Very tasty burger and onion rings. Best I have found in the area to date. I tried ordering online and it worked perfectly, I only had to wait about a minute when i got there. Great service and I look forward to trying other things on the menu.
