A hidden gem in Melbourne for a great celebratory meal and a place to take your overseas guests.
The French provincial garden in the heritage building gives you a feel of vineyard dining without the need to travel to Yards Valley.
Great quality of food in generous portion with wide range of alcoholic drink options.
Beautiful garden setting to sip a glass of espresso martini or beer and photos. The highlight of the day is the AshtonMartin F1 car for the fan of "drive to survive".

Great place to eat or book for an event.
Eat outside for quick bite, or enjoy a lavish inside banquet with all the trimmings.
Great rooms for events. From outside drinks under the marquee, to more refined silver-service dining inside.
A room for every event.

So fabulous! Can’t wait to go back! The service was outstanding, the setting spectacular with all the varying nooks and crannies and the food was delicious. What more do you need? Sunshine helps, but they’re well prepared.

wanna try some insta worthy cafe and found this one, they kind of away from the busy road, and cover with some green which is pretty good. the set-up was pretty awesome, they have the theme, green~ kind of cool, and i liked it ~ 😚 but the service need to be improve though~ they staff no idea where the click the order, they are like 5 items on the menu~ and we had brekky here, not dinner. it worth to get some photo here ~ the food was average~

Gorgeous setting & gardens! We went mid-week & it was really quiet, which was great. The service, drinks & food were all spot on💯

Great concept and environment however lack of service and choice of food on the menu. As its my first time visiting, did not know there are only set of 2 or 3 course menu available which it is a little too pricey especially for lunch. Afterall not bad tho and again, perhaps adjust the menu and also offer more to cater vego?

Beautiful Brunch Venue off St Kilda Road, near Wesley College in Melbourne. Reminds me so much of Sydney's garden cafe at the grounds of Alexandria. Such a great concept for Melbourne to have a garden brunch restaurant where Interstate travellers can go and dine and meet. Food was Wonderful, Waiters were accommodating even for a busy weekend.
Remember to BOOK in advance!! It can get extremely busy! Especially on weekends.
The only issue is trying to call to reschedule/modify/add requests. No one ever picks up the listed mobile phone number AT ALL. I tried for two weeks straight to speak to someone but to no avail. You can leave a message but dont expect a return human phone call. You will get a reply text message in response that is very short and sweet however if you need to follow up, you would need to send another text and wait till someone gets back to you.

We went here to celebrate a 30th birthday. We were greeted upon entering and guided to our booked table out in the beer garden. It has a nice open space and great to spend a few hours on outdoor benches.
Very Instagramable picturesque garden.
Food options is standard not brunch more pub style menu and menu hasn’t changed much in the last year.
We ordered the l’artisan grand fleuri which had ham, salami, cheddar, pickles and Hommus.
We also ordered calamari, onion rings, fish and chips, lamb gyro, kale chicken salad.

We went to Bottomless Brunch on a Saturday afternoon for the sunset session at 3pm and it was GORGEOUS!
The waitstaff were lovely, the table looked amazing, booze was flowing and food was delicious!
100% recommend getting to The Commons for this. 🥂

We've been to The Commons for lunch a couple of times in the last month, including in a group of 10 for my Birthday. Previously a very casual beer garden style bar, the new offering is just gorgeous. There are still indoor airconditioned spaces including a cabaret room; there's a relaxed beer garden area with puppy parking; and a stunning rose garden with pretty tables and chairs and big umbrellas for shade. There are two set menu options (2 and 3 course) and the food is fresh and well presented. The staff have always been fantastic and really friendly.
Just be aware that they don't split bills.
Looking forward to going back soon.

This venue is stunning and the perfect place to enjoy long summer evenings in the beer garden. This is nothing like the beer garden at your local pub, this one is very stylish with careful attention to detail.
We enjoyed cocktails and baskets of tasty food to share, great service too
Z. S.
We went for drinks in the beer garden and the setting was lovely. Love that it's dog friendly too. A few more beers on tap would be a good addition, but overall we really enjoyed the outdoor space. The decor and design in the rest of the space (outside of the beer garden) is beautifully done.
M. B.
Venue is very soft on the eyes, the plants definitely helped keep the place cool on a hot summer day.
Umbrellas everywhere to keep things out of the sun while dining and chilling outside, would have been overcooked otherwise, literally, angry sun.
Staff service was prompt and polite and quite considerate which was nice.
Drinks were average.
I hate admit that I did not enjoy the food, nothing to write home about, the best part of any of the food I had today may have been the fig spread or the crispness of the chips, not the chips were good.

The long-gone Belgian Beer Cafe is now a distant memory but the stunning old buildings and interiors remain intact along with the bar still sporting the many taps that once served the best Belgian brews, each in its designated glass. The sprawling front yard grassy and shaded by old trees drowns out the traffic from busy St. Kilda Road, but bypass the front entrance and take the side street to gain access to The Commons, the garden party venue at Ormond Collective by the Big Group caterers. These guys know how to set a scene and the Commons exudes springtime vibes from the signature floral print on the menus to the green and white check cushions and large comfy wicker chairs, all well shaded by umbrellas and appealing well spaced between the pots and planters of trees and shrubs. The alfresco-friendly drinks menu is full of summery spritzes, cocktails and bubbles.

The Commons Flatbread - Commons Kale Salad - Fish and Chips
This is my idea of a perfect lunch. Their famous flatbread was as good as it looked, lots of flavour I didn’t expect! The fish and chips were perfectly crisp and the salad was balanced and fresh. Since dining I believe the menu has been updated so I can’t wait to come back again and try some more!

We booked the Bottomless Brunch package for a Hens party. Everything about our event was seamless, from assistance with our booking, the brunch package taking care of food and drinks and on the day service was absolutely excellent. Due to bad weather we were also moved inside without even having to ask.
Highly commend the team at the Commons and am so grateful for fantastic service at every touchpoint. Would highly recommend!
K. Y.
It's a great space and venue but the food is somewhat ordinary for the price. Good friendly service and nice looking bar.
Z. K.
A venue like none other! Every where you look is picturesque.
The food was lovely and fresh.
The ordering system can seem a little confusing, you just have to take on the role of being your own waiter.
We ordered pretty much everything off the menu, and couldn't fault anything.
Can't wait to come back here.
A. Z.
Today was the first time we were going there. BEAUTIFUL venue, excellent and super fast service, friendly staff. It took us very long to order food, but the staffs were friendly and patient. We only waited about 15 mins till the food was served.
We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back.
Thanks to the great team!
M. L.
Very beautiful garden cafe. Great venue for celebration.
You are paying for the atmosphere. Food and drink were expensive and average. Service was average but I could see they made extra effort if you ordered a birthday cake.
I like their lover's cake though.
G. D.
An absolutely beautiful venue, we had our Xmas party here in the conservatory and it was a fantastic space, I last came to this venue back when it was the Belgian bier garden and what a change it is now, there are quite a few different spaces and it caters for many different requirements.
R. H.
Has a pub like feel to the resturant, nothing really stood out about the room, i felt it was cold in decorations. Service wasnt great on the night, shown to a table and left to fend for ourselves, including having to fetch own water, asking for QR code to order- felt table wasnt prepared even though we did book. We watched guests arrive after us- given water and orders taken, so we had to look after ourselves.
The meals took a good 35min to come out, and one dish i was sooo looking forward to which was the baked brie was a true disspointment.
It arrived luke warm, not gooey and i could have done better serving it on a cheese platter at home. Didnt bother commenting as no one came around and didnt want to wait another 30min to be fixed.
Its a shame as we came here before in Summer although sat outside and they only just opened so it was very impressive and i wanted to come back. After this dinner, there was nothing to impress me to be back or to talk about.
A. A.
The place is very nice i like the atmosphere there, the coffe is good as well the dessert wasn’t the best.
I would go there again to try their menu and to enjoy my day 💕
H. T.
Beautiful decor and design but very pricey. The food was also great, but the service from one of the staff was poor and only rectified by a very polite and attentive server. We ordered some food on the app and it got lost or accidentally skipped by the kitchen. It happens, no big deal. When we asked the first passing server we were assured it would be checked on. 20 minutes later and she had not returned. As the kitchen was about to closed and we had paid for the food, we asked a young male and he fixed the issue quickly. Saved the night for sure.
M. F. P.
It was our very first time coming here to Ormond Collective and I think I'd definitely love to come here for another celebration. We had really helpful staff help us out with our orders today, particularly when the ordering app didn't quite work. The vibes were great and we had a cracker of a day to enjoy it, too! I really enjoyed my gnocchi, and my husband enjoyed his lamb though he'd have preferred no pumpkin and more carrot instead and the mint sauce to the side...that's just a matter of preference, though. I very much enjoyed my espresso martini and Koko Black Hippity Hippoty cocktail as our anniversary coincided with Easter! Gorgeous place! Gotta love the way it's been decorated, too! Oh and the branding design is gorgeous! Seriously, if they had souvenirs in that fruit print I'd be buying it, 'cause it's too pretty! Enjoyed the old school tunes playing in the background, as well. Definitely gotta come back here 💕
T. D.
Very lovely space , outdoor coffee and beautiful set up . Food was ok but the food menu very limit.
J. A. W.
Yum food, good coffee & beautiful atmosphere for a quiet mid week breakfast...
f. f.
a nice place for all types of gatherings. Friendly staff. Sometimes the staff check in/service our tables too often.
r. a.
I like the atmosphere of this place. I just tried their coffee and the muffin which were good.
C.
The most beautiful restaurant with great food
T. S. (.
Excellent. Needed a wider food menu, was high quality bar food mostly around frying (it was good frying) and the booze range looked sumptuous..
L. W.
Beautiful surroundings. Food good with a limited but interesting menu.
C. B.
A beautiful atmosphere, lovely food and attentive staff for a wonderful birthday lunch organised by my girlfriend.
N. F.
What a hidden gem didn't realise it was here. Food quality was 10 out of 10. Wait staff were polite and helpful
M. F.
Absolutely love this place. The food the atmosphere the cabaret. Just a great place to be.
M. B.
Early morning visit, very quite and peaceful. Lovely setting
K.
Great place for a drink. Don't bother ordering anything from the menu, it's designed purely for maximum profit.
A. W.
Amazing space. If only so much effort was put into the service. Party of 3 for dinner and was having to constantly find someone to take orders - only to be rushed for dessert because the kitchen was closing in 30mins. I would understand if busy but that was not the case. We enjoyed the food however. Would recommend the pie and the chocolate pudding.
F. M.
Absolutely fantastic inside and outside venue. In my opinion as a venue it's in my top 5 in places in Melbs in terms of scenery, layout and general feel of the place.
Unfortunately the food doesn't really live up to the standard of the maintenance of the venue which is a great shame otherwise The Commons would be perfect.
P. F.
Love this place, what a unique atmosphere, like dining in an english conservatory, love the plants and decor, great service, fresh juices, great coffee and delicious food
K. M.
The venue is incredibly gorgeous and the food was nicely presented and certainly instagram worthy. On the down side, the flavours were quite bland and the barramundi I ordered had an unpleasant mealy texture, instead of the succulence I was hoping for. The salad that went with it needed some extra freshness, such as mint to give it the morishness that it lacked. I left most of my meal. However, would I come here again? Definitely, YES! The setting is so gorgeous that it honestly makes up for the boring tasting food, but keep this place for catchup drinks or desert and coffee only, after having a much tastier lunch elsewhere!
A. S.
Beautiful venue, lovely decor and setting, couldn’t fault that. Staff were fine although we simply ordered through the qr code so not much interaction. Very limited and uninspiring menu though, really could be so much better. Would be a lovely spot for afternoon tea or brunch if the menu allowed for it.
E. M.
Stunning venue, great ambience, and I enjoyed the food. The service was pretty ordinary, you're more likely to get a cocktail, than a coffee when you order. It is extremely overpriced however and I think takes a bit of advantage of its luxe-location as such!
B. B.
Beautifully set out outdoor dining. The food was amazing, light, fresh and tasty. I'll be back for a beer in the beer garden!
s. c.
We wanted to say how fantastic Lizzy at the Big Group has been in helping us organise our wedding at the The Ormond Collective. Lizzy has been incredibly helpful and has gone above and beyond in keeping us informed and ready for our day. She has been incredibly supportive and helpful in finding alternative dates due to Covid-19. She has been quick to respond and incredibly positive during what we can imagine is a very difficult time for such a business. We absolutely adore the space at The Ormond Collective and had a really positive experience at our tastings and cannot wait to finally get married there.
L. A.
A really lovely venue and lots of greenery. I love the dog yard, that is such a good idea and its great to have a dog friendly restaurant. Staff seemed annoyed when we asked for extra sauces and had little to do with us due to ordering via a QR code. Food was so disappointing and expensive. Very limited menu. High teas or something similar would be lovely.
J. D.
Had a lovely lunch here ,service was great ,food was enjoyed by all.
This would have been a 5 star review except that my request for a table away from children was not followed as they tried to seat us in front of a table with 2 chn and also what was worse though was they also tried to seat us right next to a table with 3 women and those dogs!
This was totally unexpected and not a acceptable. They did give a table.further away thankfully after I requested move. .
Why on earth they allow dogs is beyond me. It's a classy place but wont rerurn unless they change this .
K. P.
My Mum and I came here on Saturday 7th November for a nightcap and were super impressed, the venue is so beautiful and felt quintessentially British whilst still holding traditional Australian charm. The cocktails we had were delicious, but what impressed us the most was the service. The staff were so lovely and enthusiastic, particular shoutout to Charlie, who was very friendly and welcoming, she proudly told us of the venues history and even gave us a tour. Thank you for such a wonderful time, we will be back to try the flat bread we were so eagerly told all about. :)
V. T.
Amazing service! Especially the two blonde guys, the American and the one with the cool earrings.
a. g.
Lovely garden, strongly suggest sit outside
D. L.
We went for Brunch with 6 people. As far as service is concerned was bedlam. However after some time the manager came over with free spritzers and an small army of service staff with food.
The Food was delicious however the menu option could be a larger.
All in all they seem to be working on improvement and I expect next time they will be getting better reviews.
F. D.
It was a great place except for this one waiter Guzman. He was amazing, best worker I've ever seen. Guzman had amazing tableside manners, great communication skills and always made sure my drink was full. Great bloke that Guzman, definitely consider giving him a raise.
H. M.
The arrival is WOW, the design is really beautiful... Hamptons meets Amalfi... simply stunning and detailed.
Staff are super friendly, just unskilled. They don’t really explain it is not a restaurant, but u feel it is. It’s a bar offering food. Best service was self service and not relying on staff. They seem to lack training and management.
Service is 2/10... soooo slow. Drinks take 45 minutes and then misses items. Mains arrived before entrees, and items missed and not noticed. No cutlery offered. Dribbled drinks left. Food is 5/10... very basic!
The space is totally delightful.
M. T.
Very friendly staff, a stunning venue, a lovely garden, even the dog yard with the menu that I love it, the cafe's menu are very simple, a tiny snack and the price is steep. It was my birthday and all staffs are came in with a cake for dancing and singing that was too much fun there, Thanks all
A. G.
Fantastic food, great atmosphere, and the service is second to none!!!
J. W.
Stunning venue with exceptional staff and service. From the moment we arrived, every staff member was friendly, helpful and provided faultless service. We enjoyed a beautiful afternoon and will be returning soon. Cannot recommend this venue highly enough.
C. R.
Beautiful venue, friendly and attentive staff. Great cocktails, average and overpriced food from a limited menu. (And a credit card surcharge).
We'll be back, just not for dinner.
s. Q.
Had some drinks here for my birthday with some friends. The weather was really awful that day, but staff were extremely accommodating getting our booking moved inside. Everyone was extremely lovely, shout out to Robbie, Luke and security guard Liam :)
B. L.
Recently refreshed, the fitout is fabulous and would have cost quite a few clams! Ordering is through an online QR code which I think is a great initiative, however there's not a lot of staff readily available if you forget something like a sugar for your coffee. The food menu is rather pricey, which I didn't mind to help subsidise the fitout, however the meal size was crazy small. I got the prawn roll, which was $15. I ate it in 3 bites. $5 a bite! We literally laughed when it arrived.
I'd head here for an afternoon summer cocktail prior to heading elsewhere, but would be skipping out on the food, it really is genuinely disproportionate.
D. K.
Love the way the space has been revamped. We enjoyed good service and both food and bevvies hit the spot. Perfect for a good weather day .. restaurant section if weather not so good I suspect.
R.
Been here many times, love the food, good to have the new menu...
awesome atmosphere. love how you can hire out different parts of the complex. we will be back. Always friendly and accommodating staff.
C.
Excellent customer service. The staff really go that extra to accommodate the over fussy diners behaviour I witnessed. Our meals were very good. Good wine list.
L. M.
Great outdoor dining. Service was ok. Manager was very friendly and took us through the new rooms and amenities. Really well presented.
B. D.
What a great new place to enjoy finally being with friends with distancing. A bit of a trial using the code system for ordering food etc however will get easier once people are used to this. Congratulations to all involved - was great to see the old Ormond Hall (Opus dancehall of the 1960s) brought back many memories of awaiting "Mr Right" to come along. He came along somewhere completely different! Yvonne Dite
R. T.
Excellent service and great food and drink selection.
S. L.
Lovely environment with fantastic staff and delicious food!
P. S.
Beautiful French farmhouse appeal. Well dressed staff. Easy to order only menu. Drinks can be improved.
S. P.
Such a lovely place. Food, atmosphere, service and staff were superb! Wished we could book longer sittings but totally understand why
R. S.
Took 45 mins for us to receive our drinks! (table of 6 people) Service is so SLOW. This isn't the first time either. Just myself and my partner went a few weeks prior and we had to chase them for our drinks again. Service is so slow
A. E. M.
Lovely setting. I had the salmon salad which was delicious. (Others had the kale salad which needed more flavour)
b. s.
Great food, service was perfect. Very clean restaurant. Great for catch up with friends over coffee or lite meal
J. L.
Loved hanging out at the Commons - it was the Belgian Beer Garden previously and this is so much nicer. Awesome food too!
