Lovely Spot.. not far from town.
Great service.. Food & Wine.. worth a visit

Meal was had by four of five people present. We were all very disappointed . The meal was completely tasteless, with large unappealing large chunks of chicken.
A. 1.
This restaurant is a little out of the way compared to most places, but it is a place you will want to go back to again and again. The meals are created with the best ingredients, making them the best around. Even the deserts are so good, you will not want to miss out. Really good boutique beer that is not too overpowered by hops, and a extensive wine list means there is something for everyone.

We had our wedding at The Plough @ Myrniong last week and it was fantastic. Ruth and Mark were so lovely helping us navigate through Covid and having to post pone. The food was delicious, drink selection was great, and the venue was beautiful. Wholeheartedly recommend to anyone, whether for function or dining. ☺️
k. j.
Great service and beautifully setup. Diverse menu with a good drinks selection.
L. T.
Great dining experience. The food was faultless and was delivered in a short timeframe. Great, relaxing atmosphere that allowed for conversations. Staff were very attentive. Highly recommend.
H. S.
Disappointing to say the least was quite out the way and food was not up to standard, however the service was adequate

It's a beautiful outdoor eating experience down the side of the building on a warm evening. The service was great (all the staff seemed great, we mainly had Izzy), the menu was diverse and our food was lovely. Will be back.

Attended for a wedding function and the food was delicious! My friend was extremely happy with service he received by the owners as they were very flexible and worked with to accomodate all changes as a result of COVID.
D. C.
Great to find a chef to cook your steak the way you want. Great staff and Restaurant/ Pub. Do yourself favour and go get a great meal.
K. K.
Absolutely wonderful. Had the ribeye with garlic butter, no chips and extra salad. Nicest steak ever. Very attentive service from well trained staff, and a lovely atmosphere. Already booked for two weeks ahead. (Smiley face ...)
J. T.
Amazing food, excellent service, and a fantastic wine list. Even the coffee was an absolute godsend. I have no complaints to give! Everyone involved at The Plough is clearly talented, pleasant and very accommodating. I definitely recommend it.
P. T.
Amazing food and customer service. While we cannot dine in currently, we have gotten takeaway and some frozen meals. All excellent. Also when you can dine in and also have when functions can be had, cannot recommend enough the plough and how Mark and Ruth handle everything.
D. W.
Enjoyed a very nice meal, steak done perfectly as requested, tender and juicy. Wine recommended was great.
T. C.
Firstly the meal was delicious but there was a few things that could have been improved. Firstly our table never got any bread like the rest and by the time our meal arrived it was pointless asking. The female waitress had little idea about what sorbe flavours they did. The prices were higher but this place is more up market so that's as you'd expect. Also the chairs and tables could have been better. I'm young but by the end of desert I really wanted to get out of that seat. Overall still had a good time here.
B. C.
Very warm and inviting atmosphere. Food was delicious and well presented. Great wine and good service. Its our new local.

Absolutely incredible, one of the best restaurants I ever been too, I would say that the meal prices are more than reasonable considering what you get served to you, i first went after many many years about 6-8 weeks ago, and I have been back once a fortnight - once a week ever since, I have been slowly going through the entire menu with my partner and so far we cannot fault the quality of food, I think it’s amazing that they offer everyone a free appetiser, I have not gotten an appetiser that I have not thoroughly enjoyed, I will say however that I think it needs to be stipulated on the menu about the size of the “sides”, they cost $9 and I can tell you now you get what you pay for haha, they come out in a full sized bowl, I would more see it as a meal rather than a side, so I think the size should be changed to be a little smaller, the service was good, however, We were served by what seemed to be a trainee very recently, and I think she needs to work on her mannerisms if I would be so bold to say, and I think a little more attention to people wanting attention could not hurt either, at one stage I waited about 5-10 minutes to get another drink at which point I had nearly finished my dinner despite my attempts to get their attention.
That being said, apart from that very small negative on staff, there is nothing but 5 stars all round for food, pricing, serving size. I would always recommend this place to anyone, I have a birthday dinner coming up and I did not hesitate to book with them, I didn’t even give it a second thought, I cannot wait to try out more of their menu!

Saw the Bistro online and decided to go for a Sunday lunch, it's not far from Melbourne, a comfortable drive.
It's in a beautiful bluestone cottage, once inside you find it warm and inviting.
The menu is vast and has something for everyone.
The food and service was great , we really loved it.
Definatly be back.
Thank you Plough Bistro for a wonderful lunch.

Very nice food! The set dinner is unbeatable value

Stopped for lunch on a Saturday without a booking, not a problem. Lovely atmosphere open woodfires to keep warm. Had a beautiful lunch some nice wine and then sat on the chesterfield sofas in front of the fireplace with a glass of red. A great afternoon.
t. j.
Incredible food and wine. Gorgeous venue with a wood fire heater, beautifully lit creating a relaxing experience, and the staff are always friendly and represent the business well. I've been there atleast 6 times. Almost every time we go there they provide a complimentary entree, usually a new one they're trying and it's always delicious! I would recommend the eye fillet steak, beef Curry, the trio of dips and the arancini balls but every single dish I have had there has been exceptional. It's a must visit in the west!
T. K.
A heart warming place. Tucked away in the outback, this is a real gem. An old converted house, the restaurant has a great ambiance with 2 fireplaces. Fine meats grilled to perfection, the restaurant features local produce. The trio of lamb is a winner. The wine list is extensive and service excellent. A great evening and have loved it every time we've been there.
P. S.
All I can say is wow, we just come home from having lunch there. Was absolutely fantastic from the time we walked in till the time that we left we were very impressed with the place. The staff are very friendly and attentive to our time there.
I had the pie of the day which was a kangaroo and mash potato in a pea and red wine juez. Can highly recommend having it very nice, my wife had salt and pepper calamari with chips and salad, for the first time that I can remember she ate all of the salad, for desserts I had a warm chocolate brownie and choc mousse and my wife had a chocolate pot with mandarin and orange fairy floss..
The prices are very reasonable, for a glass of coke,a scotch and coke and both meals and coffee for one was around $100, which is great for a meal of that calaber..
Highly recommended, very great service..
Will be going back there again..
M. W.
Awesome atmosphere, well presented and great tasting food. Staff are very polite and helpful.

Birthday dinner with the family at The Plough! Great idea especially with the members birthday discount.
The staff are always friendly, the food is amazing and the ambiance here is so nice and cosy even when they are busy.
C. L.
What a great find! Friendly, professional and attentive staff in a warm pleasant atmosphere. Food was to a high standard, simply yum!!
A. P.
My wife and I had a lovely stay at the Plough after spending the day walking around Werribee Gorge (only 10 minutes away). We ordered the lamb ragout penne and chicken kiev and they were delivered straight our door, and in the morning enjoyed a private cooked breakfast right in front of a cosy fireplace.
With COVID-19 restrictions affecting the operation of restaurants we were really grateful at how the staff at the Plough looked after us. It was great to learn about their special beer offer to support the local brewery too.
Highly recommended as a weekend getaway for couples whilst interstate travel is off the cards - day hikes around Werribee Gorge or Lerderderg followed by a cosy room and fine dining at the Plough!
W. P.
Fantastic back barn we used for a wedding reception. Food was to die for. Service was exceptional. Thanks Michael. Just a shame the septic smell was overwhelming. Otherwise it would have been 5 stars.
C. G.
The meals and service here were very good and the atmosphere in the place was great. The ONLY downside was that for a country Pub it was a little on the expensive side.
C. G.
Amazing. Mark and Ruth are such wonderful people we chose to have our wedding there. Have a steak. TRUST ME !!!!!
S. L.
Lovely meal, great ambiance, lovely quick service. Was a treat!
M. H.
Lunch sunday wow the restuarant was full. The menu is amazing we shared chicken liver pate with chiabata bread was so nice then main course was steak well cooked and juicy yummo. Plenty of staff who were happy and professional we were very impressed will definitely be back. Thank you
A. C.
Stopped by for lunch after a lovely walk at nearby Werribee Gorge.
What a find! The food was so tasty. Panko crumbed chicken was perfectly cooked, not dry. Eye fillet was bleu and oh so tender. Beef 4 way was a stunning dish. Beautifully presented and tasted divine.
Our waiter was just so sweet. He was very attentive without being intrusive and took great care of us.
Well worth the drive out of Melbourne for the delicious food and great customer service. Will be back again.
C. R.
Really great food, nice staff, lovely environment. Unfortunately the iron ale microbrew was pretty uninspiring but it's not like they brew it themselves. Myrniong is a beautiful scenic little town and a great place to stop especially after hiking nearby werribee gorge!
M. S.
My first visit but it won't be my last . Dinner and one on one time with my daughter sitting in front of the open fire with a delicious red wine or two after our meal . Service was a little bit confused but new staff on being trained so allowed .Food spot on .....
J. H.
Awesome food, great customer service and table service, food comes out quickly, although don't know if it would if they were really busy, was only about less than half full on a Thursday lunchtime, enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, would go again
M. M.
I've been to The Plough twice now, each time for a family event and both times the staff have been extremely friendly and attentive. The food is also of exceptional quality and the prices are reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend!
L. K.
Scotch fillet steak was great. Service excellent, we were there with grandparents and our young children and felt well accommodated. Selection of local wines on the menu gets a tick from me.
S. S.
Always good food & excellent service. Nice to have such a high class venue so close to home. Never let's us down.
M. 2.
Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Good wine and drinks selection. Good food. Recommend the selection of steaks tasting main meal.
Will be back.

My uncle booked a dinner for just over 20 people - a memorial dinner if you like - in February 2013. His is a very switched on fellow indeed. We were able to get the downstairs room (down 3-4 stairs). 7 course dinner at $55/head not including wines (cheaper menus available of course). Although some said the courses were generally small (we had some gastronomes in our party) I defy anyone to have been hungry after the service. I have to say they were very accommodating with last minute vegan and chicken requests (due to the presence of some seafood in the menu that was selected). Nicole helped tremendously with wine and last minute preparations. The room had a wall TV with HDMI which allowed us to play photos from iPad all night (we took our own HDMI - IPAD cables).
Staff were excellent. Food was very good quality. A number of people noted the blade steak on the night was amongst the best they had had.
Having eaten at some of the best (sometime I would add "supposedly" to that description) restaurants in the world (e.g., Michelin star affairs in London [yes yes Gordon Ramsey's place], Dubai and Tokyo) what struck me about The Plough was that the last minute requests for chicken and vegan (not sure if the vegan was last minute) were delivered with such great presentation..... they didn't look like second rate meals at all. Personally, I loved the blade steak (but wouldn't have minded some vegan after seeing it). The mark of a great and flexible chef! Did not expect that AT ALL!
The blade steak justified the $55 entirely compared to some places where we have had trouble justifying either $20 meal or 300 pound meal with anything but the brand and reputation. It was GREAT value.
People were very happy with selection of wines and spirits. Great food and drink matched by great service (not pretentious just good).
This was fine dining in a rural location, which is a nice surprise. If you are in the area at any time - there probably isn't much around to choose from anyway at Myrniong but this place is a jewel. If you are not in the area - it is worth a visit on the way somewhere - more for the quality of food / drink / service than anything in the area itself..... I hope they keep it up.
The place would be great for 2 to 100 people I think. Although we didn't sit outside (there is a limited patio area) we sat there temporarily (as we arrived early) and it was very pleasant under the big trees looking out - I thought it was relatively scenic.
Note: Myrniong is not a large locale at all. It has an old church across from the bistro. One of the party had a wheelchair and general access and toilet access for him was not great (but it is an old pub / bistro - so I did not deduct any points but you should factor this in).
J. H.
It's awesome having a great restaurant just a few minutes down the road. First and friendly service even thought they pretty busy. I would definately recommend the panna cotta dessert, a great way to finish a meal.
C. L.
Yet another fantastic meal! Always a pleasure to eat there, never had a bad meal. Staff friendly and informed. Can't wait to return.
S.
Lovely spot. Food was delicious and staff very friendly. Great for a couples night out or family dinner.
G.
Very good food, prompt friendly service. Slightly pricey, but you get your money's worth.
S. M.
Our car club had a lunch at The Plough. The service and food was excellent. The venue was warmed by two open fires, which was much appreciated on a very wet and windy Sunday afternoon. I shall return.
J. P.
Amazing antipasto platter (if you like platters)
M. j.
Absolutely amazing food and experience. It’s been a week since I’ve returned to the plough but I’ve dreamt each night of the amazing meal I’ve had every night since
a.
The food was brilliant and the staff were top notch. I will definitely visit next time I'm in Melbourne.
J. T.
We had always planned to go but never got around to it but since the restrictions we have ordered home delivery a few times and we are very impressed. Thank you
N. C.
Service was friendly, diligent and to a high standard comparable to the best in Melbourne. The food is delicious and fresh and the atmosphere is fantastic and warm.
D. C.
Amazing food for this quiet little country town just off the highway. Totally worth a stop in for the true country experience with big city quality food. Try the locals night.
S. W.
Fantastic venue for our wedding and reception great food mark ruth and staff were so great to deal with. Highly recommended be it for a meal in restaurant or gor a function such as wedding.
a. d.
The lovely staff is so welcoming and kind, the food is just like something you'd eat in a high-end restaurant and the wine selection is quite impressive...
M. S.
What a beautiful relaxing bistro. Open fire places and delicious meals at a great price. If I could give it 10 stars, it's deserving of this place.
D. M.
Fantastic gastropub used to come here 30 years ago for steak and a portagaf. Still great for steak but also a wonderful range of other restaurant quality food at pub prices
B. P.
