Great service. Good variety and selection of food and drinks. Nice atmosphere and beautiful outdoor seating. Food was a little expensive for what it was. Was good though.

Great place for dinner and a drink. Gus and the team were very patient and accommodating in managing a number of booking changes in amongst the post lock-down craziness. The Wednesday gnocchi is just the perfect mid-week dinner and the service was exceptional, fast, friendly and a great reminder of how good hospitality can be!

Two of us had a great night at The Tippler on Friday. My first time there. Out in the courtyard with the vines creeping up and over the walls. Moroccan chicken was really good. Also liked the roasted corn salad. Wines were good too - two different kinds. Would have liked bigger plates as we had a lot of waste to store - corn cobs and chicken bones.

The place looked great and was buzzing. We had a mixed experience. The gnocchi and asparagus side was great. The Ling was terrible and the sauce was worse unfortunately. The small serving was not eaten as a result. The thrice cooked chips were hard inside! The pannacotta dessert was ordinary. Not one bit creamy and the sour grapefruit was not able to be offset as there was no sweetness to the dessert. A rather disappointing experience overall.

We had our Christmas Function at Tippler & Co. and the staff could not have been more helpful, both in the pre-function organising, and on the day. The food was great, drinks were great and it was excellent value for money. Will definitely be returning!

I dropped in for lunch before going to MCG. It was one of the coldest days in August 2017.When I fly down from Sydney I always visit The Tippler . This restaurant bar is excellent with hard working polite staff and a good wine list combined with an interesting modestly priced menu. I ordered a steak with honey mustard sauce and a bowl of roasted vegetables. The sliced steak was just warm and the sauce had an awefull rancid flavour which my guest tasted and said " do not eat it !!" But the steak tasted great and was very tender . My guest loved her meal. This place is modestly priced , their huge " footy lunch " special at $25 pp looked fabulous. The Tippler building has a long history of being a reastaurant going back to the 1950s . It was once run by the famous Melbourne artist Moira and her mural art has been preserved ( see photo). I look forward to returning but I hope they get another recipe for their honey mustard sauce.

Fantastic food, service and atmosphere. Most parking around the area is only 1h, so best to Uber if you can. Staff were a hoot and made our first night out after a lockdown a decadent affair.

Gus and his team helped me organise a private function for a farewell at my company. He helped me select a canape and drinks menu and the event was perfectly run. One of the best hidden gems in Melbourne. Great selection of beer and wine, but really the food is the star. There is not a bad dish on the menu, but if you don’t try the gnocchi, you’ll be disappointed.

Presentation, Quality & Atmosphere! I had the oven baked barramundi, absolutely beautifully presented and full of flavours. Bowl licking delicious! We also shared the winter greens and that was simple yet great tasting. The sticky date ginger pudding was memorable too. Great effort by the chefs.

Yum! Beautifully cooked food, great service and lovely wine. The chicken roulade was superbly cooked, tender and flavorsome. If you're into savory, finish with the aged English cheddar and their home made jam; delightfully sweet and tasty against the sharp bite of the cheese and the perfect portion of each to crackers. Understated and underrated east melbourne bar and eatery that's too close to the MCG to ignore. There are not many East Melbourne options but this one is by far the best for both drinks and food... good cocktail options and many with modest prices. The bar food, such as the beef and crab sliders are also delicious. Fantastic service and great ambience that includes a beer garden and a function room upstairs (if you're looking to book an event).

Gee what a find this place is. The food was like something out of Master Chef. The flavors were amazing. We shared the Beetroot for starters , then for the main, we had potato Guccione?( spelling might not be right) and the New pork spare ribs, with those pickels, just beautiful.
