Unabara Lobster & Oyster Bar serves the freshest seafood. The oysters were perfection. We enjoyed the DIY Creative Ramen, where basically you build your own dish from the list of ingredients available. The Tokyo Lobster Roll with side salad tastes so delicious and fresh. Prices compatible with the quality of the food. Overall, an enjoyable meal. 👌🏻

Best Japanese Ramen I ever tasted. I came here for the ramen but their other items were also really good. They have an exceptional range of menu items. If you like seafood and like Japanese food, this is definitely a must visit place.

Gyoza had a really strong garlic taste and to be honest i can make them at home much better than this. The karrage chicken and cheese was so good. Salty and crunchy. Very delicious. Cocktails was to be expected but highly priced. Would probably try it again

The oyster is really amazing. And the Ramen is delis I like them a lot. Gonna come more often

Most ramen broth are usually tonkatsu (pork) or miso base, so it is a bit refreshing to find one that specialised with lobster. I thought the soup was flavourful, a bit strong. It is also a bit salty, needed some water immediately after downing half a bowl of the noodle. Tried the ramen with half lobster, a bit disappointed with the small size (but I get what I paid for). Also had the lobster roll which was not bad, but can be a miss if you have nobody to share with. Service was good, plenty of tables and didn't have to queue.

Service staff was really attentive and polite. Food took a long time to come, Oysters were fresh but the Lobster and Seafood Ramen's broth was salty and lacked flavor. Noodles were slightly soggy too. Quality of Food was 6/10 but Service was 10/10.

Actually on reflection I will give 3 stars. I decided to get some gyoza and the flavour wasn’t bad but they were barely warm so I asked for them to be hot. They were warm on return but not hot. Which then reminded me the biggest issue with the ramen other than the soggy noodles was the temperature. The broth, although flavourful was luke warm.

I will give 4 stars on flavour but quality really only 3 stars. I asked for hard noodles for my ramen but unfortunately they were so over cooked. Extra soft. So that spoiled it overall but the flavour of the broth was good. The charsu was a little sweet but was well cooked and had a good texture, not stewed like some. The lobster I found to be just a little over steamed and therefore chewy. But again the flavour of the overall dish is why I gave 4 stars not 3.
Perhaps next time I will go to the other restaurant, Emporium rather than the walk through mall situation at Melbourne Central.

UNABARA GYOZA GYOZA, Melbourne Central. My first time trying Lobster Ramen at @gyozagyozabar @unabara.melbourne. The lobster broth was so fragrant and intense with the Lobster Umami! We ordered the one with the lobster tail, albeit on the small side it was very tasty. It would have to be the most premium ramen I’ve ever eaten going for around $30 a bowl ~💰☺️🦞✌🏻
.
Personally enjoyed all the sides as well- the Signature Gyoza Gyoza 🥟, Japanese Pancake Okonomoyaki & Takoyaki octopus balls were super delish and great for sharing. The matcha soft serve with iced houjicha was a great way to finish the meal! Ramen is perfect for this cooler weather 🍜 You can also find these guys now on @livenpay ❤️🦞 so check them out if you’re after something a bit diff 🍜❤️

The broth of the Boston Lobster Ramen is really good - very bisque-like, full of flavour. It is such a pity that the lobster itself is overcooked - very tough!. The lobster broth is slightly less intense for the Sapporo Ramen but still good. All the other bar food we ordered are generally of a high standard - the kaki (fried oyster) is moist inside and crunchy outside, the lotus root is crunchy and not too oily, the serving of lamb ribs is generous, the meat itself, moist and tender.

The food was very satisfactory and met our standards. Good service and friendly staff

I had the lobster burger with the salad and also the chips and they tasted spectacular, they have some very nice drinks to choose from as well. They have a lot of different places you can sit as well and service is pretty good.

CREATIVE CUISINE AND GOOD SERVICE
I've tried both Unabara restaurants - this one and the one in Emporium. Both serve good quality modern Japanese food with a signature dish of lobster. This outlet is all on one level so will not present any issues for those with mobility considerations. Al fresco feel even though its all inside Melbourne Central.

The location of Unabara is amazing, but also slightly confusing; there’s one in Melbourne Central and another in Emporium. After a bit of confusion, we arrived at Melbourne Central (where we had our booking). The service was quick, they were very accommodating to a few changes we asked for in the lobster broth ramen. The ramen itself was lukewarm when it arrived on our table though. It tasted good, but because it got cold very quickly, it became slightly unappetising at the end. I might go back to try their lobster meat.

We ordered three dishes, Grill Lobster with steak, lobster linguini and pork ribs. The sauce they have for those dishes are good, and are quite specialised and unique. The steak was a bit cold but juicy. Lobsters and the special sauce are very nice. There’s also a variety of drinks to choose from, like mocktails with cotton candy and soft serve.

Don't miss the lobster noodle. The soup is pretty savoury. Oysters are fresh. 30-40 dollars per person.

Best bang for buck. Not only you can have a great meal for relatively cheap price, the both is very tasty. My favourite is the super spicy kimchi (don't judge) ramen!

Service is great. Ramen with lobster soup base, soup is rich & not too salty, texture of noodles is just nice. Poached egg is good. Chashu is a bit hard & lobster a bit over cooked. Would be nice if the gyoza is more crisp on the edges.

Amazing food and service. Always love to come for a quick lunch - the mini lobster bisque is the catch! The oysters are so fresh and I also loved the gyoza variety. Will 10/10 recommend and I wish I can afford eating here everyday.

we ordered the lobster roll + deluxe ramen
pros - convenient location, friendly stuff, the chashu in the ramen
cons - lack of seasoning and flavour with the broth, tiny portion size with the lobster roll

Today I had the Deluxe Lobster and Seafood Sapporo Ramen.
It comes with Grilled Boston Lobster, Snow Crab, Grilled Scallop, Tiger Prawn, Chashu and a Nitamago egg in a soup broth of you choice of broth (miso or shoyu - the miso is the most popular and I definitely agree!!). You can choose to have your soup as regular, or mild/spicy.
Now where do I begin...this dish was absolutely delicious and heavenly. The soup was rich and delicious. All the seafood was cooked to perfection. They even you give you hotplates to put the seafood, so that your seafood stays warm. The lobster and snow crab were incredibly juicy. Even though it looks like a belly filling dish, when you're done you still want more. It's that good.
The Chashu was sweet, delectable and soft.
I would highly recommend this dish to any of my friends or work colleagues.
The staff are very friendly and multilingual.

I love so much the food here. They are specialised on izakaya japanase food. They have so many options of dishes with a small portion and the range price started from $6.80 to $8.00 . The karage was amazing with sweet chilli sauce and the fried rice with beautiful garlic smells. Highly recommended.

This place renamed to Gyoza Gyoza. Has very little seating inside so you'll most likely sit in the hallway, which is really noisy with the constant flow of people going through a big entrance. It's also very windy so my food got cold really fast. The spicy lobster ramen, which had decent amount of Kimchi in it but was too sour for my taste. The wagyu beef gyoza was disappointly soft and had no crispy base. The thousand layer cake was good. You can get it for free with a zomato review.

I strongly recommend this restaurant. Thanks for these great food and service.

Lobster ramen..Not worth the wait, but worth checking out. Wait staff were very busy, only three including the bartender/manager. Took half hour for order to be made and the table next door that ordered ten minutes after me your their order first. Was advised not to get the super spicy noodles by the waiter and the mild was very hot. Probably rates as a hot (two chillies). Lobster was small for a $30 noodle. Would I go back? Probably not due to the long wait for the noodles. If you fancy their beer ascends izakaya, might be a better experience as observed from the other tables.

First time trying the lobster ramen. Had the Tori no karaage with sweet chilli and the lobster ramen. All the contents were delicious.

Cosy environment with nice decorations. Located at the heart of the shopping mall. The staff are friendly but appeared to be short handed. My son who is a picky eater likes the plain udon. Lobster is very fresh and well prepared. Superb tasty for the seafood linguine. Nice presentation too.
Abit pricey, portion could be larger but overall still worth it. Will definitely come back again. Continue the good work!

Plating is beautiful but that's about it. If you like seafood and all its glorious flavours you would like the ramen but it was too lobster flavouring for my liking. I didn't enjoy the seasoning. The lobster roll was much better though the sauce they made was not complementary at all to the dish, it was yet another heavy lobster flavoured thing of the meal.

We found this place while shopping at Melbourne Central. Great place to eat Japanese food especially the restaurant's lobster ramen. A gem hidden at one corner of the shopping mall just above Coles supermart. Food is good & delicious. Will come back again next time when we visit Melbourne again.

Ramen was quite tasty but similar to a quality noodle pack rather than a rich, ramen broth. Same with the noodles, seemed out of a packet rather than freshly made. Ok to try once..

Such a lovely little place! Quick, friendly service, food came super fast and reasonable prices.
Their lunch special was awesome, but I couldn't turn down trying the infamous lobster ramen and it was incredible. The ramen soup base was an absolute highlight, star of the show even over the lobster. Would recommend getting just the ramen bowl, half the price for all of the taste.
Huge menu for a little shop, both for food and drink.

Store was a little busy so it took a little to get us seated but overall experience was not bad. Gyoza pricing is reasonable and although the ramen took longer than expected to come out it was decent. Lobster was much smaller than expected though. Pork was hard and souveed egg was cold. Noodles were also really bunched up and stiff. Ordered a parfait and ended up being forgotten about. Had to bring it to their attention twice.

It was a lovely restaurant with nice environment. The food is excellent, thought the portions are fairly small. Staff is friendly, but they should be definitely paying more attention for customers’ needs and check in table more often. A little bummer is that they do charge the surcharge for using cards. So make sure you carry cash if you don’t wanna get charged.

Lobster is fresh and the meat is perfectly cooked! Staff is helpful and they teach you how you use each sauce and ingredient to get the right experience. Plus happy hour beer jugs for a great price!!! Highly recommended!

Loved the unique lobster ramen, the lobster meat was very easy to eat and the noodles were good. The noodles are my preferred type of noodles and may not be everyone's favorite. The ramen broth was also a bit salty, however that was to be expected. I added extra bamboo shoots to my ramen. The staff are also happy to warm up the soup if it gets cold while you are eating the lobster/noodles.

The ramen was good and the dumpling was so soft. Overall very satisfied.

Yummy lobster ramen! The lobster broth is delicious, a bit on the sweeter side for anyone who likes that 😛

As an avid ramen eaters we were shocked to see lobster Ramen and naturally had to try it.
This is AMAZING ramen however don't get it super spicy unless you can handle it!

My friend and I came here straight after some shopping so we were quite hangry. We waited quiet a while for the food but the lobster ramen was good. We were quite impressed as it was different to other ramen we have had in Melbourne.
M. B.
Friendly and fast service. Cosy atmosphere. I recommend the duck and eggplant and chefs special dumpling. Would come back to try the lobster!
J. C. W.
Great taste with reasonable price, Unabara Melbourne centre was just few steps away from Melbourne Centre tram station. Recommend the non-spicy half lobster ramen as the spicy paste is a bit salty and covered the taste of lobster.
Q. l.
Large variety of food and drinks. Love the lobster ramen, cotton candy drink. Friendly staffs
B. W.
Prompt and friendly service. Lobster ramen soup is full of umami flavour. Would have given 5 stars except for the lobster being a bit overcooked, and oysters not as fresh as they could be. But still good overall.

We enjoyed the black garlic ramen on black Friday. The lobster was cooked to perfection and we were very happy with the service and our food.

Variety of foods to choose from. Some dishes are really nice, some are average. Nice preparations and the prices are reasonable.

We had a lobster burger and lobster pasta! It was so good, the drinks they gave a very strong pour :) will be back again for sure. This restaurant deserved 5 stars!
