A bit of a drive but worth it. A great Australian feel, outdoor seating, good range of drinks and friendly service. The food is great, if you are looking for ribs do not miss this. Setting could be difficult if the sea breeze is up as it can be in this area.

My wife picked this out as a small trip out of Geraldton, where we were staying. The location is about half an hour drive out of Geraldton, and quite a nice scenic drive. The Burnt Barrel is setup alongside a working farm I believe, with vineyard alongside the outside seating area providing a picturesque backdrop. The service was good, friendly and quick. The food as expected American style smoker, arrived quickly, and was... fine. Unfortunately for me this was the disappointment, that it was fine and not great. The ribs were a little dry, and didn't seem to hold the flavour as much as I had hoped, the coleslaw a little tired and bread (made on site) dry, the chicken wings not finger licking good. The dirty fries were nice, Mac n cheese ok. The cocktail looked good, but again disappointed in taste, the ginger beer brewed on site was again ok but not great - slightly too sweet, and slight chemical aftertaste. The hot sauce sounded interesting but wasn't an option with the rib combo I ordered, and you had to pay as an extra to get it. The positive though were the cakes which were very nice - white chocolate and Oreo cheesecake and caramel apple pie were very yummy. Overall seems like a nice place, with good ideas for the food and the way it has been setup but food and drink for me anyway, weren't worth the drive out there.

Friendly staff. Generous servings of food. Tasty baby back ribs but not as falling off the bone as spare ribs, pulled pork with mustard was fantastic. Highly recommend dropping by here

Really nice spot. The food was really good and plentiful. They make their own beer on the premises, although it would have been nice if there was more than one on tap. Staff are friendly and helpful. Woodfired pizzas are nice too. Live music is a great touch. Well worth a visit.

Great spot about 30 minutes from Geraldton. Excellent BBQ food but unfortunately none of their beer was on when we visited - only their ginger beer. They also don't do their pizzas at Friday lunch, but with such great BBQ available it's not a loss!

One of the best dinners I had for a while. Extensive menu, for both vegetarians and, of course, meat lovers. Good choice of drinks incl some craft brews as well as non alcoholic bevs. Generous portions, could be easily shared. Delicious, juicy, full of flavour meals. We were so full, didn’t leave any room for the dessert, so we ordered it take away. Ohh hands down, just try their banoffee pie… be aware, it’s huuuuge! Overall it’s a MUST spot if you travel via Geraldton. Well worth the drive!!

Everything (we had 3 meat sampler... All meats were tasty and delicious) was lovely apart from the coleslaw.... We both love coleslaw however we struggled to eat it. (tasted of old vegetables is the only way I can describe) Waitress asked how meal was and we said delicious apart from coleslaw. She said its because they use BBQ sauce with the mayo... That's certainly not what we were tasting! Husband was a bit disappointed at beer selection. Nice venue and mainly good food!

The food here is absolutely amazing, so is the service. Four of us had the barnyard platter, Mac and cheese, and trio of sliders. We took home two boxes of leftovers. The service provided by Lyndon is outstanding, can't believe he remembered two of us from 3 months ago, he even remembered our order. I will definitely be back again.

This place is too damn good - wow! If you want a food and beer coma in the afternoon, this is the place to lunch in the area. Everything was perfect - the brisket, the burnt ends, the wings, the ribs, the beer... the list goes on and on and on!

Amazing food, amazing service! Well worth the drive from either Geraldton or Northampton. You can tell all their meat is slow cooked, it’s absolutely delicious. The homemade sauces are to die for. Their beer is also made in-house, although we didn’t try that. Additionally, my mother is gluten intolerant and they were more than happy to accomodate her, and she enjoyed her meal thoroughly.

We came here Friday night for my daughters birthday and it was fantastic. The food was so delicious, and the staff were so helpful and friendly. The kids also had the best time playing in the playground. Would definitely recommend. We can't wait to come back!

Always great food and space for the families. Kids always enjoy making new friends and playing in the open areas which include a playground grassed area and blocks. Would recommend to rug up well in the winter months, they do have a fire tho which is really cozy. Wood fired pizza was amazing, ugly crust pies always a winner and for our family the total barnyard platter and a pizza is enough (we even took a whole box home of leftover food)

My gf and i were hungry travellers, and the stunningly generous tasting plate fed us to bursting. One of my biggest life regrets to this day is passing on the big ol American cream pies. There really is something amazing about this place. From the food to the staff The Burnt Barrell has everything going for it. The beer that is brewed on site is to die for. Well worth the scenic drive out for a lunch or dinner.

Have to say this is probably one of the most warm and welcoming places I've ever been too with great food and good service, the wife and I have travelled across Australia twice and always find ourselves making our way back. If your into smoke house meats and quality brewing you will most likely love Burnt Barrel, Ned's ginger beer is definitely my go too vice here.

This review is more of a public service announcement. Be aware you can't sit outside with a dog. This is useful to know before taking the detour to get here. We had to continue on our way because didn't want to leave our mate in the car. Smelled great though and it is a beautiful setting. Update: We read the website thoroughly before going but did not see any information about not being able to take a dog.

Lovely staff and great surroundings, nice and far out of Geraldton. There were only 2 in-house beers available but they were both excellent! Would love to see some brisket on the smokehouse menu, but that is personal preference. The Kansas City style vibe is well implemented throughout the menu but I think Burnt Barrel could take this further! A great feed and great beer!

Well what a meal! If you are in the mid west this place is well worth a day trip. Just the drive alone through the hills and valleys are pretty amazing. As you pull in and exit the car you are hit with the smoke house smell of what is been prepared and it gets your mouth watering. The seating is picnic BBQ style and fits well. Large spacious area and little cubby house for kids to play. The food, bring the hunger. Highly recommended the whole barnyard platter, pretty much everything they have on offer. It is priced at $55pp (min of 2) we got it for 2 and myself who can eat a lot, the wife and teenager couldn't finish it.. which is ok because they will box the rest up. Other guests we were with had other menu is and all said was incredible. Of you have a sweet tooth you are going to love the desserts Just crazy. The locally brewed beers were quite tasty and could have sat and drank all day but had things to do. Definitely worth putting aside a hour or 2 to visit this place. Price is pretty fair for the quality and quantity. Highly recommended, worth the drive.

This place is a gem. Good bbq, had the giant meat platter between two adults and I kid and we still brought stuff home. Good beer, had the Smokey and the very drinkable Pale. Wonderful garden setting. Notice I said good bbq; it was good, not great. All the smoked meats - ribs, burnt ends, pork belly, pulled pork- were on the dry side. Clearly smoked well ahead of time then reheated. I understand that one can’t really slow cook meats to order, but that being the case, on the day we went the reheat method needed some work. That said, we still enjoyed the whole experience.

Great food, very big portions. Beautiful spot out in Chapman Valley, it's really nice for a Sunday lunch if the weather is good. Can get a bit cold in winter so bring warm clothes, because they have limited seating indoors and it's nicer outside anyway. They have sweets and coffee too, cocktails and craft beer. Try the spiced ginger beer, it's really good!

Pre-booked hoping for their menu. When we arrived it was a all u could eat for $55 Xmas buffet. No warning was given when booking. Having said that the food was great. The rib ends were to die for. The afters were great too. Very windy and uncomfortable eating outside. When asked if we could go inside we were refused even though some seats under the veranda were empty. The beer was cloudy... was it supposed to be like this?
