Japanese Dining hidden in the local suburb of Connolly with lovely ambience with a view of the lovely little outdoor garden. Excellent service and friendly staff. Each dish is beautifully presented and served. Assorted tempura was our favourite amongst all the dishes we’ve ordered for the night. Our only disappointment was when we were informed that the gold sashimi and miso toothfish weren’t available. Prices and portion comparison is more like high-end fine dining, each dish’s serving size was much less to our expectation given the menu prices so consider it to be quite expensive. However, good to try it out.

Wow!! Our first time was so lovely! This place is romantic and SO SO SO cute. Dario is honestly THE best. Big thank you to him for being so friendly, kind, patient, humorous, and just down right friendly. He truly made our night. The food is fanastic. 5/5 I love the decor, the ambience, the view outside. Everything was beautiful. We ordered a lot of food and it was all reasonably affordable!! I have already recommended this restaurant to three friends.

Beautiful Japanese Restaurant. The service was great, there was a new person learning on the job the night we started but he did an amazing job. The atmosphere is great, would be a great restaurant for date night. It was quite busy even though we went on a Tuesday night. The portions for the mains were massive, I couldn't even finish my meal. But the quality was amazing. I cannot wait to return here.

Nothing to fault!!! My wife and I visited for our anniversary dinner this evening and were very impressed. A very warm greeting upon arrival followed up by impeccable customer service for the entire night, the food is second to none and truly Japanese. Our sake was paired perfectly to our desert that had a lovely message from the chef to help us feel special on our night. Highly recommended, looking forward to our next visit.

We've heard many great things about D's so couldnt wait to get a booking and to see for ourselves what the hype was all about. Simply put it didnt disappoint. The food absolutely rivals that of Nobu for the quality and their own crafted lager beer absolutely complemented the dishes perfectly. Absolutely delicious. The restaurant ambience was perfect as a date spot and the service was well executed with a hint of playfulness and banter from the restaurant owner. He was excellent to to converse with and we thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience. Will definitely come back!

A true diamond in the rough. From the location and exterior to walking through the door you are transported to a wonderful place. The staff are nice and very helpful. Food is amazing both in taste and appearance. Great for couple, families. Looking forward to heading back at some point.

I've never minded spending a small fortune on food, but they have to be good. D's definitely passed with flying colours. The spider roll, hot pot & Wagyu steak (seasonal special) was flavoursome, couldn't fault it. D's seasonal beer, we were told, were brewed by themselves & was so good. The sashimi was really fresh, even the grated wasabi was so good that hubs ate it on its own. Their house made sashimi soy sauce had a very special flavour to it that reminded me of dashi. Love the houjicha pannacotta & the ice cream that came with it was really smooth. Definitely will return for the other items on the menu.

D's Authentic Japanese is like a love slice of Dontobori right here in Perth. We just had an amazing Valentine's Day experience that was out this world. The atmosphere and everything about this restaurant is aimed towards giving you the best experience possible. The food itself is phenomenal Koji brings amazing taste to your table in fresh and exciting ways, I can not reccomend this restaurant enough along with there second location in Joondalup.

Koji is an amazing Japanese chef. I love everything I have ever had at D's Japanese Restaurant. My favourite is the Premium Ramen. Koji's wonderful staff are always friendly and polite. They make me feel appreciated each time I visit. I believe it is easily one of the best restaurants in WA.

The best Japanese food I've had in ages. We went to celebrate our anniversary of our first date 29 years ago. My now husband took me for Japanese for our first date as I'd never tried it before. The service was top class along with the food. Beef tataki and salmon were winners. Will return again. Love also that is is BYO.

We were really torn on this review if 3.5 was an option we’d have selected it. The service was phenomenal and some of the food was delicious, however the price for the size wasn’t aligned. Claremont price comment is accurate. Menu is small, no chicken or non-seafood sushi is an option which was disappointing, beef was delicious but plate was far more salad than beef. Dessert however was wonderful, light and something different. Total bill came to almost $200. $7 BYO wine seemed steep by comparison. Decor was so so, this is still an old chicken treat restaurant and you can tell in part.

For example, $35 for chicken karaage when it's literally chicken and a standard Japanese salad is a bit rich. Also there's no rice served with anything so despite having 2 entrees, 2 mains and 2 desserts we left still hungry as there was zero carbs. As I said, lovely food quality but was it worth $190 for 2 people?

Went here with the family and had an absolutely amazing night. All the food was delicious with the subtle, elegant flavours that you'd expect from a fine dining experience. Sashimi was fresh and tasty, just melts in your mouth. Awesome place. Both service and food were exemplary.

I think this restaurant is over rated. The food was good but there was a lack of choices. They have 3 teriyaki dishes and 2 tempura dishes with a very limited menu selection. I also don’t expect to have chicken karaage for my main meal in what is presented as a fine dining Japanese restaurant with prices to support that facade. The sashimi was good but there is no nigiri and several other inconsistencies with what I expect of a good authentic Japanese restaurant.

Yes, authentic Japanese cuisine, and Yes, amazing customer service with the finest attention to the smallest of detail. We love their amazing range of options on their menu. We were both very pleased with our meals ordered ... however, we believe that most customers simply could not afford these 'authentic' dining prices on a regular basis at "D's Authentic Japanese Restaurant". we stumbled on this place, looking for a local Japanese place. this place is the best Japanese in Perth we have been too (Including Nobu). definitely pricey but so worth it. last month we tried their oak barrelled plum wine... OMG !!!!! yes and the food is amazing and fresh.

Venue has fantastic food in addition to waiters who try their best to provide excellent customer service. The lotus chips, assorted tempura and winter mizutaki were wonderful. Price isn't cheap, however considering the quality I would say that it is reasonably priced. Glad I chose this venue for a birthday celebration. I would definitely come here again.

Hubby and I decided to have Japanese for dinner and found this hidden gem in Joondalup. Food was great but prices were a bit steep for what was ordered. My Salmon dish was delish but missed a starch (Rice), my husband had the vegan hot pot which was lovely but lacked flavour. The staff were so welcoming and pleasant, the ambience was refreshing. I would go back but hope to see more Sushi and Vegetarian dishes on the menu..maybe reconsider prices too.

They seemed extremely busy, it didn't seem like the previous experiences we have had in there. Our starters came out 1 short, my partners and I mains came out seperate, I actually had eaten mine before she got hers, I was asked if I wanted desert and I said yes and no one came back, so I ended up just drinking up paying and left. As I have stated I have eaten in there plenty if times and always speak very highly of our experience, I hope this is just a once of and I will definitely be in again as the food is lovely along with the friendly staff.

It's so easy to place a booking on their website and their menu is well thought and definitely authentic Japanese food. When our order came (Sashimi and seafood hotpot), it amazed me how the foods were beautifully presented and as soon as we got the taste of the foods, you will absolutely come back again to try other foods. The desserts swept me off my feet. It was really lovely and nice.

This is by far the best Japanese food I have had in Perth. The chef is clearly highly trained. The sashimi I had included swordfish, bluefin tuna, red emperor and was the best I have ever tasted. The pork ramen was also next level up from what you normally get in Perth and at $17 it is well priced. The service was friendly and professional. I have given it 5 stars but this is a six or a seven star restaurant! Absolutely amazing.

HOW HAVE I NOT BEEN HERE BEFORE!??!?! it was unreal! The eggplant dish literally changed my life I have never felt such reverance for a dish. Amazing service and extremely high quality food with delicious flavours. Highly recommend the eggplant and the sukiyaki (get extra udon noodles)

We loved this restaurant. The chef really has pride in his food and sources his sashimi from Sydney. I had the sukiyaki and it was authentic and fresh. My husband loves pork katsu which he really enjoyed. They also do a degustation but I haven't tried this yet. The seating is limited but ideal for a small group. Bookings essential for large groups so not to disappoint . I hightly recommend this restaurant a notch up from most Japanese restaurants.

Absolutely amazing! Would thoroughly reccomend! Very authentic right down to kimono for the staff and hot wash clothes given at the start. Staff were very friendly and even told me to let them know if I felt cold and they would get me a blanket (we had been seated near the door). Each table had baskets to be able to put your handbags or belongings in to keep them clean and off the floor. The window blinds were down enough so people going past couldn't look straight in on anyone. The atmosphere inside was very friendly, comfortable, warm and cosy. Food... AMAZING! The lotus root chips were exquisite and good sized bowl. The katsu chicken main came with dipping sauces and a salad. The chicken was cooked perfectly and was tender and the coating was very crispy. Salad had a very tasty dressing. I also ordered the add on, which had miso soup, steamed rice, avocado, and 3 pieces of fruit. Dumplings were great and the spicy dip was just that! It came with 6 delicious dumplings and some salad - which was an entree. The steak dish also came with a salad and tasted amazing. They brought the bill to the table and had a mobile eftopos machine they brought to our table to pay. The host even opened the door for us and thanked us when we left. Definitely recommend! A must for everyone.

Excellent ambience. Great service and the food was beautifully prepared & presented. Chicken Karaage was crispy and tender with a robust dipping sauce.Crispy prawn in aurora sauce was as described and probably the pick of the entrees while the wagyu carpaccio was tender and delicately marinated. All very tasty. For mains we had Tasmanian salmon teryaki, free range chicken katsu and a roasted crispy skin duck. All were excellent although the duck breast lacked a little flavour. All in all a fabulous and intimate dining experience and we will be returning.

D’s authentic Japanese was recommended by my friend who said they known the chef. It was an experience. The location of this place is in Connolly. It’s a bit far from where we were located. It took us a good 30mins to drive. We decided to go for the Tuna party which cost $60 a head. The head chef cut out the tuna fish which weigh 66kgs, they got this specific tuna fish from Tasmania. They cut the fish in front of us and we got to try different part to the tuna fish. We were seated on a table of 7. When each part of the fish was cut, we were served the sashimi. It was an experience and a good one to try all part of the tuna. Now we understand different part of the tuna and how they taste. It was very impressive experience. The restaurant is a BYO your own alcohol.

Followed a recommendation from an acquaintance and found a very small, very cute, very delicious little gem, with a passionate chef who was both in the kitchen and out serving customers. The menu has the obligatory dishes that people expect from a Japanese restaurant (teriyaki, karaage) but also a few more daring options: miso marinated foie gras, 38.4 degree salmon with soft egg. This is that band that was cool before they got big. Definitely check it out.

Was recommemeded by Liam to give D's a go. Was not disappointed!! Great food wanted to go back for more. Also their beer Shizuku is awesome, give it a go!
