Went there with my partner Friday night and had the 8 course tasting menu. Flavours, quality and presentation of all dishes was exceptional. Front of house staff where clearly formally trained in the art of fine dining and service which was fantastic to see. The young Filipino waitress was absolutely fantastic, both myself and my partner are in the hospitality industry and we both agreed it was amazing to see someone still with passion for front of house service, not to many of them are left around. I was slightly disappointed to see such a high end fine dining restaurant allowing customers to sit down for dinner in shorts and a singlet and another couple came in, in gym wear. All in all food and service was great

Friends restaurant has always been a favourite. From it’s origins in the Swan Valley until it’s current location, it is an excellent place to celebrate any special occasion. The food is superb, the wine list is amazing, the service is excellent and the staff are friendly. A wonderful fine dining experience!

It's no wonder the owners Clive and Leslie are still in business after all these years and still working their restaurant. THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE. When we arrived we were welcomed with a warm beautiful greeting, we were amazed by how nice the staff are, so caring and friendly. The food was absolutely incredible we were 3 of us and each one ordered different steak and they were all delicious. The starters are unique and well-presented. All tastes delicious. The service was beyond any words can describe, definitely one of THE best experiences of Perth. Let’s not forget about the other aspects such as cleanliness which was 10/10 and art and architecture 10/10 in particular the big painting on the wall. Stunning.

Last night was definitely an experience for my partner and myself. We had never been to fine dining/ high class restaurant before, we felt so out of place BUT the food was amazing. My partner had the lobster 🦞 and I had the kangaroo. We were given a few complimentary appetisers. Highlight was the soft shell crab 🦀 appetiser. We also ordered the abalone starter which was nice. The wine selection is incredible. My partner wishes you to extended you whiskey range. Staff were friendly and professional. The trainee that was on was doing a wonderful job. Good to see other staff who were training her be patient and help her. Would definitely come back.

Friends Restaurant is a good restaurant which is worth a visit. Food: 5 out of 5. The food is nice, not to say amazing, but it is good enough to give five star. The taste of the spatchock is delicate. From my personal experience, I think the cooking of the steak is better than the Meat & Wine's. Soufflé is not a bad choice for the dessert after the dinner. Environment: 5 out of 5. The dinning environment is good. It could be a romantic place for couples to have a dating. Service: 4.5 out of 5. For few times at that evening, I waited for a bit long (sometimes the waitress did not see me), the reason might be I was sitting at the corner next to the wall. Cleanliness: 4 out of 5. There was some wall dust on the seat, probably because I sat close to the wall. At the beginning, there was some stains on one of the forks. Need to improve on cleanness. Overall, the restaurant deserves visiting for diners.

Such an amazing experience! This is our first time to Perth and the service of this restaurant made us felts so nice and warm. They gave us a wonderful surprise with the awesome “bonus dessert”, and their boss gave us two flowers when he was on the way to open the door for us. You must try this restaurant when you are in Perth!

This is my favourite restaurant in Perth. It is always great service here as is the food. We did the truffle degustation which did not disappoint. The only gripe I could have is there was not enough sauce with the main but I didn't ask for more. Matching wines are always lovely here too.

During the whole evening there was something about portion sizes that bothered me, but with each new course and matching wine (we had the decadent degustation menu), I was blown away again with a taste sensation that surprised us so much, that the previous niggle about portion size was just forgotten. I was so impressed that I thought I will wait for two days before writing this to see if I change my mind on the rating, but no...it has to be a 5!! Stunning evening with "Friends" - the kind that take your money but gives you sooo much more in return!

We we’re walking through the city and felt hungry and decided to try Friends on Saturday night. I’m so happy we did! We decided to try the set menu and were absolutely blown away with the quality of every one of the five courses. The barramundi was perfect, but the soufflé was out of this world. My partner and I decided to go to the Friends restaurant to celebrate a promotion. I have never experienced something so amazing. The food was breathtaking, the staff fabulous and the owner (I presume) is refreshingly genuine and created such a delightful atmosphere. Some fabulous food here, especially the wagyu, soup and various sauces. Generous with the truffles, but at times they didn't suit the dishes and got a bit much towards the end. Truffled ice cream... 🤤Man where to start.... fine dining 100%. Me and the ladies our bill was $500, I nearly fell over😵 because we had 5 course meal plus extras. Each meal is fantastic small portions neat and tidy with flavours that Burst into your mouth, well done chef. We had two waiters one serviced our food the other brought our drinks. be careful the wine glasses are the size of your head no joke.The waiters were so friendly and on point with service. Well done ladies. And last what I admire about this restaurant is that non of the staff asked us the leave as they were closing up I mean they close at 1030pm and we stayed in there until 1130pm we didn't realise the time I had so many jin and toxics I forget where the exit was. Cider and onion truffle soup. 😋 Delicious. 2. Truffle cured salmon, lemon and dill creme fraiche, wakame, toasted broche. 🥰👌 Incredible flavours 3. Beef bourguignon, mushroom and bacon, truffle mash potato, confit carrots, braised pickled onion and the beef was a super tender slow cooked beef cheeks. 🥰😋😁 Paired with a luscious Cabernet Sauvignon from Margaret river. 🍇🍷🍷♥️ 4. Goat cheese and truffle, warmed blue cheese, onion and balsamic bread. 😋😋 5. Apple crumble souffle, Manjmump truffle ice-cream. 😋😊. This is best souffle I have ever had. 🙏. We booked and told them about dietary requirements. They had a gluten free roll prepared for one guest and I am told it was delicious. The other courses were served with flair. My best dish was the aged beef - possibly the best I have had. My sister loved the soup. We will be back !!

Leslie and Clyde are the most hospitable owners of a restaurant I've ever met and the friends family are my absolute favourite in Perth. Not only do you get high end customer service but it's so personal, my partner and I come here every so often and we are always remembered, they remember our favourite wine and favourite cocktails and it makes you feel special. The food is absolutely Devine, the setting is so romantic and the music puts you in a loving mood. Went here last night. Food was good, staff attentive and music was brilliant. The old restaurant was more spacious though. The negatives were, there is no dedicated dance floor so people get up between the tables to do so, there were also more than a couple who were rather anebriated but they kept getting fed alcohol right up to near closing time. Of which these people represented some corporate body of which brings disrepute on that company When I asked one of the owners as to why they kept serving alcohol to these people, her response was to advise me that they weren't misbehaving, so it was alright and they close in another hour. This is not a responsible service of alcohol and not the answer I was looking for as they were an annoyance to our table due to standing in our view and nearly tipping drinks on us. Last drinks should have been called instead of feeding a bunch of alcoholics.. Like I said the food was good, but was we were disappointed by some people acting like oafs. Based on the owners response, we won't be back again and will look for another venue with a more mature clientele in the future that doesn't support the drinking habits of some over the respected dinner guests enjoying the entertainment.

We had the pleasure of dining at Friends new venue on Sat 25 Jan and to say pleasure is a gross understatement. Everything about the restaurant was divine. The service was exemplary and the food was beyond description. Every mouthful was the most pleasurable assault on the senses. The hosts Clyde and Lesley Bevan certainly love their jobs and this shows in their greeting and discreet presence in their restaurant. The Saturday night menu that we chose had many choices and would dearly have loved to try them all but alas they would have had to lift us out by crane. The new venue certainly has a fabulous ambience. Love it and we will be back.

I was taken here by my fiancee for a birthday dinner. I was not told where we were going in advance, so I had no idea what to expect. From the moment we arrived the service provided by the friendly staff was exemplerary. It felt less like we were being served and more like we were being taken care of and looked after. Have you ever been to a restaurant and seen staff members who look bored, are inattentive, and seem like they would rather be anywhere else but there? This was the precise opposite of that. The staff were also knowledgable about their extensive wine selection and were able to suggest the perfect match for my meal, which itself was outstanding (grade 5 wagyu beef is a treat I'm unlikely to experience again for a while!). It's clear that the place sees plenty of people celebrating special occasions, we saw a number of guests celebrating birthdays, as well as a proposal, while we were there. And it's not hard to see why! With amazing food and even better service, Friends has a reputation that is definitely earned, and I look forward to going back for the next occasion!

Each course was faultless, the timing of each delivered course was perfect and the friendly wait staff made the experience all the more special for us. The standout course was the mushroom and corn soup; we could've consumed litres of it! We’ve just had the most amazing meal at this restaurant. They have moved to 200 St Georges Terrace but left nothing behind at the old place. Old school service with modern, beautiful food. This restaurant has been around for years and there is a reason for this. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was wonderfully surprised. We had the 8 course degustation with accompanying wines. Was later told that the head chef Justine, is only 24 yrs old. The dishes were tasty and beautiful, and quite generous in size. I lived in the moment and didn't distract myself by taking photos, but just HAD to have one of the souffle!
