Food is delicious and staff is very friendly. I’d only have to say that some portions seem too small. It just depends on what you order. And we waited for our food for quite a while. Also, the room is a bit noisy, which is not very suitable if you want to have a romantic or a business dinner. Overall, I’d say that it’s a nice place and worth a visit.

Exquisite, sublime and decadent. All words to describe this sensational addition to the Perth dining scene. Our meal consisted of the King Fish and Quail for entree followed by the lamb, and a duck pasta. Each dish was delicious in its own right. From the sourdough with parsley pesto through to the custard donut dessert. Everything was just wonderful.

Don’t forget to order GARUM WINES. Nice setting place, dinner was great. Octopus was very tasty and tender. The quail was on of my favorite - great marination and right level of roasting, juicy inside and crispy skin. “Cacio e pepe” (didn’t take picture of this pasta dish) was amazing - so simple ingredients = taste of real Italian food! Crab pasta was good - right hint of chili was very refreshing. Tiny disappointment with the fish as it was overly salted, like they were salted twice by the accident or something. So we return it to the kitchen as I could not have it. Overall experience still great there are other dishes we still want to try - great menu options.

We've visited for the Love Italy Lunch special twice, great value at $49 for 3 course with wine and coffee. The food is good, without being outstanding. Hearty dishes with a lot of flavour. The service is good, except both visits we were served the wrong dessert. But that's nothing to complain about really!

Garum is a modern stylish Italian restaurant based in the 5* Westin Hotel. It’s won a few local awards & is known as an upmarket restaurant amongst Perth foodies. However it doesn’t quite live up to the hype. The food is good & all pasta & desserts made fresh. But the menu is poorly thought out. The pasta dishes at $28 are not advertised as entrees but the wait staff advise that if you are order as a main it’s recommended to upsize as the portions are small. To be fair at lunchtime I would’ve been happy with entree size but I upsized just to avoid disappointment. For other mains there’s no veg or potato served with mains & not much choice on the side dishes (fried potato, cos lettuce, peppers, brocollini). The large plate of osso buco is crying out for mash potato (which isn’t on the menu) but we were advised to order peppers. The service started off well with a wine & entree coming quickly. But then it went downhill when our mains arrived before we’d finished our entrees & a different waitress poured red wine in my glass after I’d asked for a top up of my white wine. There was quite a long pause til dessert came along but that suited me. By this time some of the diners in this extremely loud hall had left and you could finally hear yourself think. If you’re planning a romantic night out this venue is way too noisy (unless you are outside). Apart from the noise it’s also lacking in air conditioning. It was lovely when they opened the outside doors to let some air in, but that just reminded me how hot it would possibly be in summer, plus the outside patio offers no shade. All in all I think this place has potential to be a good 5 star restaurant, however to get it right they need better leadership/training of staff, noise reduction and some decent side dishes or accompaniments. I’d come back again for a quieter weekday lunch. But won’t be rushing.

Been to Garum twice and both occasions have had an amazing experience. First time was during brunch on a weekday and service was great and food was amazing. Second time was a Sunday brunch time... for breakfast you get a choice of alarcarte or a buffet breakfast. Buffet breakfast has an amazing choice of food. Try get in early as it get really busy. Even though it was busy, the wait staff were still amazing and food was great. I love this place. Nicely tucked away in Hebernian place, next to the Westin Hotel.

Lovely renovated space, high ceilings and modern features which is the new cool of old and new. Had a pleasant lunch and really enjoyed it overall although the service was slow at times as I was in desperate need for drinks to be flowy. Starters really great, pepperoni (btw which is not meat) was so delicious with the goat cheese and the crunchy bits. Pasta wise you can't go wrong with the Pork ragu. This is the type of pasta that I will have over and over again.Now the Carbonara I was a little "ummmm" about, if you like el dente and salty then this might be your thing. Great classic negronis and just a comfy old but new space.

The only issue we had is that we were judged by the manager/host who gave us a look when we came in to see how we look and we were given the worst table in the restaurant when the whole place was almost empty on a Wednesday night. First time at Garum and we will definitely return. And not just because it is so local to us. The Italian influenced food was very good. I had the octopus starter that was cooked to perfection. Followed by the carbonara. Here I could suggest that more guanciale is used and that the dish is made a bit drier just as it comes in Rome. I expected to see the egg clinging to the pasta as it cooks in the heat. Very flavourful though. My partner had the cured Kingfish starter and the duck tortelli, both of which were amazing.

Dinner at Garum was absolutely amazing! They offer complimentary bread upon arrival (delicious homemade bread). We had the octopus as entree, ragu pasta and the most delicious piece of roast pork I have ever had! The pork was so so tender and juicy and the crackling super crispy. Be sure to book in advance as they get really busy. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Beautiful restaurant, dessert was amazing (choc mousey-type dish) and the zucchini side dish was a stand out! That said, The Westin has an odd vibe and customer service is lacking. The drop-off/pick-up area had 3 guys working there, but not one opened or closed the car door or even said hello. The waitstaff at Garum could have been more attentive. We often had to flag down a staff member to order or send back a dish. Not once did the waitress top up our wine glasses from the bottle we ordered. Food wasn’t warm enough. By the time I was half-way through my main pasta dish it was cold which wasn’t pleasant.

I loved the food here very much. It did take a while for the food to come out. Lovely staff and waitress (Isabella I think her name is) was friendly and very accommodating in explaining the menu to us. It was expensive but I cant fault the food, and they have an open kitchen which is love! I would definitely come back again. :)

High quality Roman inspired food. Fantastic service that is informative and attending. Having a birthday card on the table was a lovely surprise bookended by a special birthday dessert. Great! Pasta sauce was inspirational, a freshness and depth that makes for more. Scallop was so fresh you could see the ocean, cooked to perfection. Dish of the day was probably the lamb shoulder finished with a crusty top for texture. Soft, melt in the mouth and intensely lamb. Beautiful. Wine list, a mix of WA goodness balanced with Italian vino. Very good and best Italian I have had.

Expecting more from the Garum. My partner is gluten intolerant so it was a we were happy to find out that they could cater to her dietary needs. We ordered the Tonnarelli with gluten free pasta, but the pasta was straight out of Aldi. Barely al dente and I mean, it's a bit disappointing to go to such a highly rated, expensive restaurant and being served something that honestly I could prepare better at home. The three stars are for my Tortelli. The past was a bit undercooked but the duck, mushroom and sage feeling was delicious.

The venue is great but for me the whole experience lacked the wow factor. The service started off great but ended up with the dessert menu being delivered 20 minutes before our allotted 120 minute time slot being up. No one came to take our dessert order so we left? The venue location is amazing with awesome facilities. The scallops were great, careful theyre HOT. I ordered the pasta as a main and the portions were a little too small. The response from one of the waitors was a tad rude when asking for a table with better seating. Nice flavours, may return again... Hopefully a better experience next time

Amazing food, different flavours to usual Italian style...well worth a try. Service style suited me however others in my group found it slow. I like time in between courses and you get that here...or they have just had more walkins than expected :) Seating is arranged well...they fit a crowd in without feeling like you are on top of other tables. Service staff are exceptional when they get to you. No complaints from me for Garum. If you like Italian you really will enjoy.

I'd go back for a special occasion.

The service is really good. They know their product and know how to serve. Very attentive and good classy service. Food was really great. Had the special porterhouse steak which was done to perfection. The menu features West Australian produce. Others at the table had no complaints either. Complimentary bread is actually baked on the premises. You must book, as it's that bloody good. Prices are what you'd expect for good food and service.

Went Sunday... not the busiest night of the week to go but yet the service was shockingly bad for what I expected! Atmosphere and venue is great, food in above average and slightly overpriced but good. The service however was slow, clumsy, forgetful and generally none existent. I know there are arguments about the expense of sourcing quality ingredients but when the food tastes ordinary you have to question the cost. Service was constant and attentive. Atmosphere was warm, old historical but modern, reminiscent of a converted church. Limestone, wood, iron, glass, leather, with some greenery. Wine list was rounded in selection, region, and price. Beer on tap did not include pints which was frustrating. Spirits were reasonably priced. They have a half price happy hour on selected drinks and foods that shouldn't be missed. Highly recommended.

Food is OK. Drinks and cocktails were good. Service by the wait staff was great. Only thing is that we found a hair in the food. When we told the manager, she didn't seem to care and was unapologetic. She took the dish off our bill, but at the least I thought we would have been given a discount or had our drink made complimentary. Don't think I'll be going back and neither will my friends.

ThIs is our third visit to Garum’s however on this occasion food was not up to usual excellence. The sardine pasta was underwhelming in terms of an almost puréed pasta sauce and not enhanced by breadcrumbs that were so fine and dry that it overwhelmed the delicate sardine flavour. Disappointing. The rabbit and tiramisu were very good. The service was prompt and attentive. Lovely building and atmosphere but it would have been great to get a better table given that we had pre-booked and the venue was less than half full.

Despite the restaurant being full, we had no difficulty hearing each other at our large table. Food was exactly what we expected: rich and tasty. Had a really good dinning experience here. The food is top notch and beyond expectations. The heartiness and simplicity of Roman style Italian food was on full display. The Zucchini flower were light with a slight crunch on the outside, and a soft and flavourful filling inside. The Porchetta was excellent with succulent meat and an extra crispy cracklings. The homemade pastas were great, had the Cacio e Pepe , the prawn pasta and the crab ravioli. All were very very well executed, and leave us all yarning for more. A thumbs up for the wine list here. It's has all the right wines to pair with the food they serve. The only negative thing I have to say is that we were not allowed to order our starters and then decide on the main after we were have had the starters. It would be great if you would let your customers take thier time and enjoy the beautiful space and the food, especially with the food being on the richer side. Overall, a great dinning experience and food. Would definitely be back and recommend others who have yet to give Garum a try.

The food was great. One small quibble would be a great size difference between the two main dishes that we ordered. The pasta was lovely but kinda bird sized. The ox tail and polenta was enormous. The result? I *had to* eat the dessert alone - which again was huge. The sommelier was helpful, staff attentive, all round a good experience.

The place and decor is lovely. Service was great. I was quiet excited to dine there. We ordered the Octopus as entre and it was amazing. However was very disappointed in the mains. We had the Snapper and Cabonara. Fish was tough and rubbery. We also have had way better cabonarra elsewhere. We were hoping for a great finish with the dessert. We ordered Tiramisu which was not too bad however again disappointed with the donuts. It wasn’t fluffy as it should be it’s very doughy. I think this place has so much potential to be great.

My main was over cooked and the portion was apparently for two. Was not the case. I had two entrees and a desert. I have a size 32 waist. Plenty of room in the tank. The food was very nice and flavorsome. I can only critique my main. I think the lack of fat in the mince was the issue. Would I return.? YES I would.

Breakfast menu is fantastic. From the focaccia to the fruit are all fresh and tasty inside a converted old church building. Coffee is a bit of a let down from the machines and I didn't want to pay anymore as you can buy one from the barista for about $4. I don't like the seating here, it feels like a food hall and if your into sitting at tables with people you don't know well you will like it. I was constantly getting bumped into even when I was saeted..I think some of the staff could be a bit more hospitable.

Beautiful location inside a new state of the art hotel with amazing interior. The food available on the a la carte menu looks great, the buffet has a lot of options too and is delicious. Coffee here was a bit hit or miss. Stay away from the soy lattes if they're your thing as they're nothing special! As part of the buffet you have to pay for the barrista coffee or you have a self serve machine included.
