I always wanted to visit Africa & Lalibela made my dream come true. I so much enjoy the food here. I absolutely love tasteful food, the variety & the love. Have been to this place several times & every time I get impressed by the taste. Thank you for sharing the Ethiopian culture with us here in Perth. #halal

One of the greatest experiences. The food was so AMAZING. All my taste buds were activated and so much endorphins were flowing through me. So happy. I’ll be back for sure. The ambiance is authentic and cozy. The food is simply 11/10. Must try!

Went to Lalibela for dinner and wow wow wow 🤩. Everything was amazing from the vibes and atmosphere to the service and especially the food. I had a vegetarian dish and my wife had a meat based dish, we were both very happy with the dishes. Very friendly staff and chef. When we pulled into the restaurant parking lot, there were no parking spaces. The owner came out and told us that someone was leaving from one of the staff parking spots and that we could park there. So we did. How’s that for first impressions. Would highly recommend Lalibela Ethiopian Restaurant and Cafe 🇪🇹 😃

Having never been to this restaurant before, my partner did a cursory google search and we landed on Lalibela by pure luck. And we are so very glad that we did, we were not even planning on leaving the house. Delicious, and the portion size. We ordered: Yesome Veyayinetu, food coupled with atmosphere for days and I was intrigued by the beautiful jazz soundtrack playing and on the way home we thoroughly enjoyed Theodros Mitiku. Lalibela is an Ethiopian delight, it really is worth making the trip to Westminster, approx 20kms Northeast of Perth City. The food is authentic, inexpensive and expertly crafted by chef/ owner Shimelis Abegaz a 20 year veteran restauranteur who arrived in Perth from Ethiopia two years ago. As soon step into the main dining room you know a treat is in store. Watch the African diners carefully and follow their lead. The menu is a series of curry like and vegetable toppings that are served on a large serving platter. The toppings come in small bowls on top of a carpet of "Injera" a sort of flatbread with a pancake like texture, made in the traditional way from teff flour. The extra injera "carpet rolls" that come on the side of the huge platter are used by diners to mop up toppings that are tipped onto the injera "carpet" lining the giant platter. Before digging in everyone leaves to wash their hands, ensuring cleanliness for right hand (only) eating! As I discovered to my delight it was a cosy peaceful dining room + a fun dining experience. A thoroughly great night out, yummy food, fun, and friendly - at a very reasonable price. +Technical Note +The walls and ceiling are lined with beautifully crafted African designs in soft, warm, noise absorbent materials ! A delight to the eyes and the ears. Very clever engineering and great marketing all at the same time. Full marks.

If you want to taste one of the best vegetarian food in the whole world, then this is the place. Their vegetarian combo with various lentil dips and traditional Ethiopian bread is simply unbelievable. This is coming from seasoned world traveller! 🙂

We had 1 each of the mixed veg and mixed meat Injera for 2 and it was heaps and they were so generous with the Injera. The service was great, and the waitress and chef were lovely. 12/10!!! I’m Eritrean/American and have been pretty homesick lately. New to the Perth area a friend of mine recommended I try Lalibela and said it would hit the spot. My friend was right, not only was the food fantastic JUST like eating at home, but the service and atmosphere were spot on too. I brought 10 friends with me to share the experience and I’m so glad I did! We had a few mixed vegetarian platters, tibs, doro wat, shiro, and of course coffee after. We had a GF/vegan, some veggo and meat eaters at the table and it was very easy to share. The family who own Lalibela are truly legends, when I told them I was homesick and so grateful for this meal they sent me home with extra shiro (that’s my favourite) and refused to take money for it. Now that is definitely the habesha community. It’s not an easy time for any small business owners these days so that was a very kind and much appreciated gesture. This is a place I’d recommend to anyone wanting to really experience traditional Ethiopian cuisine and ambiance from beginning to end. Can’t wait to go back already. አመሰግናለሁ ❤️
