We had an amazing day here yesterday! We had birthday lunch and spend relaxing walking around the restaurant. Staffs were friendly and professional. The vibe was just stunning! Food was delicious! Drinks were great and cheap for all you can drink. We want to come back here for a special occasion again. Thank you so much for making our special day even more special.

Finally got to Matilda's for a long leisurely lunch. And it was great. Windows flung open and a seat by the water. Watching the boats come and go against the backdrop of Perth town. The Fremantle octopus was delicious and the pork fillet was tasty. Although I nearly ended up with a steak fillet as a result of a slightly inattentive waitress. Mrs C had scallops, amazing, and a 10/10 gold band snapper. With a bottle of Tim Adams Pinot Gris is was the perfect day.

Summer Vibes on The Bay Recently attended the Dr Fish event on a lazy Sunday afternoon. It started sprinkling so the staff and band moved the whole event swiftly from the fenced off grassed area to the "doorway" of the Catalina Room . - for safety, comfort, noise level and entertainment. The band was awesome, food was delicious and the ambiance was spontaneous and fun. Brilliant evening and thanks to the staff for being so adaptive and postive in this new world of ever changing Covid restrictions.

We had the opportunity to have dinner at Matilda Bay on 20th Nov to celebrate my wife's birthday. All in all it was a wonderful experience. I had read reviews that the staff is friendly, cheerful and supportive and indeed they are. They attended to needs for the kids well and the small coloring package kept one of our boys busy for the entire time. The food was well presented and tasted exceptional. We had ordered a steak, fish and prawns and a surprise birthday cake. All items were served and presented exceptionally. We loved the view, the seating arrangements and the location. Will definitely visit soon but will try and bring some friends along to experience the same.

Pictured is the view I had during lunch at Matilda Bay Restaurant today. I ordered the full fish of the day, which was a succulent barramundi with a side of chips. To finish with I enjoyed a peanut butter mousse which was rich was perfectly balanced in sweet offset by the salted caramel. The serving staff were very helpful and had a very good knowledge of their menu items. We tried their recommendations and we weren't left disappointed. This was a fine dining experience. I will bring my family back here in the near future. Thank you, MBR, for an exquisite meal!

We hadn’t been to Matilda Bay Restaurant for some time but Thursday nights visit didn’t disappoint. The waiters were terrific, the food was superb, beautifully cooked fish and steak, and the sweets were delightful. A must place to visit, apart from the food and staff, the view is also wonderful. It’s a place where you can you can sit and talk, it’s a calm and relaxing environment.

We held our wedding ceremony and reception here on the 1.12.21. Sianne and Naomi were both super helpful and nothing was too much trouble to arrange (or re-arrange!). Once again, we enjoyed a lovely dining experience. Our family and friends from Tasmania had the (non-alcohol) Bottomless Brunch and we couldn't fault the food or service. On arrival with a young baby in a pram, the server endeavoured to find us a table away from a boisterous one, without sacrificing the view. Very much appreciated! We'll bring all our staff for our Christmas lunch (and have done so for the last 7 years) as there is no better place. December edit: Once again had the perfect Staff Christmas Lunch. Matilda Bay Restaurant and particularly Sianne from the wedding planning team were amazing. Sianne was always punctual, attentive, supportive and open with communication during our wedding planning. She went the extra mile with every detail to make sure our wedding plan came together as we had dreamed. The bulk of our planning was done remotely form inter-state, yet this never caused issues for Sianne. On the day the team were very professional and the day went perfectly according to plan. Even with last minute changes 24 hours prior due to Covid, the Matilda Bay team handled it brilliantly. We were extremely happy with their service overall.

Been back here for the first time since covid and the service and food was as good as ever. The views are to die for... Very romantic place if your looking to impress. We got married here and it was a fantastic affair. I cant remember a single issue with the food, venue or service. The only reason I didn't give them the fifth star was because of the strict rules they had on what we were allowed to put up as decorations. We were not allowed to bring our own solar powered fairy lights to put up around the perimeter. The only alternative they provided was to rent their lights at an exorbitant price. I understand that weddings are an opportunity for business to commit highway robbery but there needs to be limits. But in saying that It was the best night of my life thus far.

Stunning place to go and have a meal and casual drink! Food is delicious. Have had several meals from here now...The Steak, Lamb, Fish and Chicken and every single meal that I've had from here has been perfectly cooked, not over cooked, not dry, plenty of sauce on the side and all proteins have been married up with the perfect side orders of varied vegetables to match the protein. The service here is outstanding and everybody that helped me on these evenings out, were so polite and friendly. The view from the restaurant over the Swan River towards the city at night time is just simply stunning! Million dollar views, Million dollar food at the some of the best prices in Perth! Dinner for two with wine and drinks was ~$150.00, so very happy to pay that when you get the service, the great food and the beautiful views all in one! Thanks , will definitely be back again!

We came here for my partners birthday and it was a great experience all round. Service was good, there were very attentive but not pushy. Food was lovely, the pate is HUGE, you get so much, I think we would have shared that had we known- it was tasty nonetheless. The steaks were good, the ONLY thing I will say is they did taste a lot like charcoal...which my partner wasn't so keen on. We asked for them medium rare and they were cooked to perfection. We also got the mash and the Brussel slaw - I would highly recommend these sides they were delicious. We didn't get dessert as we were stuffed. We left happy and full.

Exceptional Care & Attention. I have been a coeliac (gluten intolerant) for 35 years and a vegan for the past two and eating out has been a challenge for the simple fact that many restaurants either find it too difficult to cater for specific dietary requirements or they offer a lifeless salad as an uninspiring option. We had our wedding at Matilda Bay Restaurant on 12.04.19. We had a small ceremony on the grass and private dinner for 18 in the Wine Room. It was the greatest day of our lives. The ceremony was organised through Annelies, the wedding coordinator. She replied quickly and efficiently to all of my emails from beginning to end and we had a fantastic time. The guests all loved the food, our table looked wonderful and we were truely looked after by the staff even though there was another bigger event happening at the same time. My husband made a booking for us at Matilda Bay as a surprise to celebrate my birthday which he included in the booking. We last went to Matilda Bay in 2018 and had a very average experience (which he'd forgotten about) so we were giving them another go. Things have definitely improved - food was good and cooked as ordered, and service was very good. We had different wait staff attending to our table through out the night and I was impressed with the seamless coordination between them. This place is expensive and you are paying for the view which unfortunately we haven't experienced on either of our vists despite having made advanced bookings. In our most recent visit there were tables with views vacant the entire time we were there which made it especially disappointing as we were in the back corner, right next to the kitchen door and next to a large noisy group. Our side dish didn't come out until we had half finished our main which threw the balance of our meal out. We had waited a few minutes before we started eating our main but started it because it was going to go cold. Unfortunately we felt harassed come dessert time, and was asked if we wanted dessert while still eating my last mouthful of main. We asked for a break before considering it while we finished our wine. We were given about 5 minutes, then were asked 5 times in 10 minutes if we were ready to order, despite it being obvious we hadn't even looked at the menu yet. It wasn't late, although late enough no one else would have taken our table. There was no acknowledgement of it being my birthday throughout the evening either. Am I being harsh? Yes, but only because it is an expensive, fine dining restaurant and my expectations are therefore high. I've had more memorable food and personalised service elsewhere for similar or cheaper prices. Would I come back? Maybe, but it would be my choice of restaurant.

They never disappoint on the professional dining experience and the chefs must be complemented for their presentation and perfect seasoning. Matilda Bay offers stunning views out across the water and it is a lovely place to sit and enjoy your evening. The service was very good, the cocktails were great but I was a little disappointed with my food. The entree of whiting was delicious but with a strange addition of raw carrot. For the main meal I ordered crab, but what I actually got was about half a dozen very large round lumps of ricotta cheese sitting in a very small amount of sauce which apparently had crab in it. Very disappointing. The dessert was fig, a tiny amount of ice-cream and something which my fellow diner thought was potpouri. It was in fact edible, but just very crunchy. Would I go back? Probably, but I would be very careful what I ordered.

My husband and I needed a nice restaurant that opened early for dinner as last minute and Matilda Bay was great to accommodate us within 15min of booking, in a window seat which was a real bonus! We had the soda bread with dip, butter and olives as it was really nice and filling. We didn’t need an entree For mains we had the beef shins which were spicy and sweet and melting in the mouth For dessert we had the petite fours perfect size and full of flavour. Beautiful restaurant to go to. We took our family there for celebration dinner last night. The ambience is beautiful, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was sensational. It's funny but one thing I love about the restaurant is it has carpet on the floor. It makes so much difference to your dining experience. You can actually hear each other talk with no banging and clanging. That combined with the great views and wine made it a perfect night.

Attended Matilda Bay Reasturant for a wedding. Great setting with amazingly romantic views. The staff were absolutely incredible. We brought our 2 year old son along and he was very well attended to by the staff. Very organised establishment, all the wedding plans seemed to go without a hitch. Great building, with some lovely iron and steel work throughout. If I had to complain about anything, it would be the selection of beers on tap, but it isn't enough to sour my opinion of the place.

Beautiful setting and wonderful service staff! Food was excellent had oyster with kiwi fruit and bbq sauce 3 way very unique ways to eat oyster! My wife's came out slightly chared but was still much better than the C reaturant 2 weeks ago! Desert we had iced coffee parfait which was nice could of used more coffee flavor but was a good finish! The wife had roasted fig which she loves with raspberry and vanilla. We were a little let down on this desert she did not enjoy the taste and it smelt and looked like someone dumped a bowel of pot puri on the top. Storage and expresso martinis made up for it! All said amazing resturants and serice will go back for sure!!!!

The Waiters were also excellent with top service all night. The food was delicious, we had the smoked chicken, then scotch fillet or Half Chicken then Cheesecake for dessert. Everyone loved it! Especially the steak which was cooked perfect and tasty. This is how you run a good quality reception centre. That expectation was met with professional excellence and shared pleasure. Open Table has missed the point. It is bad marketing, detrimental to your reputation. You ought to remove them... As I stated my hubby and I have been before but don’t know if we’d bother coming back. The service was generally acceptable, but one waitress in particular was clearly in an irritable and cranky mood. We didn't have any extra or unusual requests and had made a reservation. We'd go back for the food and setting but not the service. To note, hold your breath if you're in the hallway leading to their toilets because it doesn't smell good there at all!

There is a fantastic consistency in the standard of meal, service and ambience at this location which matches the generally high prices. A decent wedding venue and also suitable for small conferences/group dinners. If you are interested in wine this venue has an extensive list of local and imported wines on offer. Lots of parking including overflow at peak times closer to Pelican point, beware this is paid during office hours.

Asked for two vegetarian dishes whether can be veganised, waitress simply said no without checking with chef or anyone. Then I went onto to their offical website and find out there is a vegan menu that exists. She DID not offer it to me in the first place and I had to order my vegan dessert from my phone "the online menu". Also she only gave our sharing plates to us after we asked for a couple of times and also "educated" us about Tea or coffee will only be served after dessert is done - Well I suppose you can always check with the customers if they do want their drinks to come at the same time with dessert? Honestly, she has pretty much ruined the atmosphere of our lunch DESPITE food is amazing.

All together brings a memorable experience that demands a second visit or perhaps more. The high point of evening was our seafood plate with marrons, it was delicious, fullfilling. Entrees were good but the dessert were magnificent. Although it’s on very expensive side of town and it would set you back at least 200 dollar, I would say it was well worth.
