Nana meats and sauces, Deep fried pickles on the menu, extensive drinks menu... What more could you want...? The chicken is to die for, so is the brisket.. Loaded chips come highly recommended too. The service here is great, very laid back, you can also get just about anything from the menu to go... Its my new go to for american BBQ.

Very nice bbq. We always go for a mixed platter to enjoy a bit of everything. Try to get in early as its walk in only. But if you dont finish it all (possible but not optional) you can take it away. Mega bonus.

First time here and sat at the bar.Bar service was amazing.ordered a pint of stout and later a Hornet IPA both excellent but abit pricy at $16 each!!!!Crazy won't be back for this rip off!!! Might possibly be the most expensive pint I've ever bought! The meal of Beef Brisket and lamb ribs were amazing but the corn bread was really yukky compared to what I've had elsewhere,dry stale tasteless and the expensive coleslaw was very yukky way too much vinegar inedible keep away from those 2 items on the menu. Overall a nice place to have a beer and meat with amazing service.

They don't do reservations but we didn't have to wait to be seated. Very efficient. We had a platter, grilled Brussels sprouts, jalepeno poppers and loaded fries. The meats were fantastic and tender. The Brussels sprouts were so tasty. The loaded chips and poppers came with Lime Cream. I didn't like the taste of the lime cream, it ruined the poppers so just ate them with no dipping sauce. Overall nicely designed place with a relaxed atmosphere. Lots of craft beers on tap, I had a sour which went well with the meats.

I have eaten here a few times and will come back again. A little disappointing you can't reserve a table, but they turn them around pretty quick. Food was good, good amounts and quality. Service was excellent...I gave 4 stars as we sat in an alley way I guess you describe it, it is undercover, you are on a slope, so always leaning, in a very narrow lane way type area, and you get a view of all plumbing pipes that are exposed... felt damp and pretty ordinary...if you are happy to sit an an after thought area all well and good, the main part of restaurant is much nicer, try to get in there...

We’ve been looking for good American style bbq places & they’ve got our attention quickly so went in to try on a Saturday lunch hour. We’ve tried their Smokey philly & Unfaithful Reuben. Decent brisket sandwiches with good price & portion size if you visit during lunch hours (probably could cut down a bit on the bread thickness for the Reuben in our opinion). They’ve got good range of beers on tap as well but all of them are a bit on the pricey side that’s the only downside for us. However, would definitely be back to try their bbq platter next time.

Relaxed atmosphere, delicious food and drinks. Any place that can make brussels sprouts taste good must have a magician in the kitchen 😂. We had the lamb ribs and chicken wings too. Ribs were mostly fat with only the tiniest strips of meat on it, so not my taste but the wings were fantastic; the batter had a slight crunch to it and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The ranch dipping sauce was a great compliment to the dish too

Situated on king's st on one of the best streets in Perth is what I thought would be a eating experience. Wasn't I in for a surprise. The service is good and the staff helpful but the food is lacking in quantity and quality. The brisket was dry and ribs small. The barbecue chicken wings was the only highlight though my wife was happy with her chicken burger. The beer pricing is ridiculous. I personally will never set foot into this establishment again . I actually had to get a snack later in the night . If you want to pay a lot for very little then this place is for you .Otherwise give it a wide berth.

Good atmosphere (apart from the beer menu TV’s), decent service, awesome pulled pork (it didn’t even need the sauce), clean tasting pickled coleslaw was really good. A big fail was the brisket though… tough, fat not rendered through, chewy in parts… disappointing!

Great for groups, specials every day. Would recommend the Club Sandwich to be shared between two people, it's enormous! Pulled pork was tasty, wings were tasty, a bit over-fried and dry, but in a good way. Would not recommend the potato salad, it came in a decent sized serving but was not at all tasty.

I have walked past here many times but finally went in and it's worth it. Great selection of beers, and cocktails. The staff were all very friendly and organised. The mixologist was consistent and the quality was top notch. Lots of great BBQ coming out of the kitchen. Definitely worth a visit if you want some nice bbq and drinks

This was recommended by my husband who had a work do here recently. The relaxed ambiance is great for catching up with friends or even for a date. The music wasn't too overpowering which meant we didn't have to yell to have a conversation. The service was prompt, the wait person who attended to our table was friendly and made sure our meal was ok. The food was delicious. The beef brisket melted in the mouth and full of flavor. The lamb ribs with chimichuri fell off the bones and very tasty. The jalapeno wings also hit the mark. The coleslaw stood out from the other ones I've had in the other BBQ places - with a hint of dill and the soury taste of pickles helped cut through the sickening feeling of having too much meat. They also have a wide selection of beer and spirits. Very reasonably priced which made it even tastier. 😊 Overall a very pleasant experience.

Great value American BBQ in central Perth. Located in a beautiful histrocial building, the bar is flooded with atmosphere and chatter that makes it a real great venue to attend. The beer selection is phenomenal, offering a wide variety of craft beers, IPA and some amazing stouts. The food is just pure meat, with meat and more smoked meat. It's a great BBQ feast to be shared with others. The staff were wonderful, friendly & organised, couldn't fault the at all. For being the middle of the city it was pretty good value, no shocks here on the bill.

I only go because of the Buffalo wings however I was very disappointed this time as the Louisiana "hot" wings I picked up for takeaway turned out to be just plain old deep wing's,no spice at all, hopefully I just got the wrong order. Great setting, huge range of beers n whiskeys, very generous portions of beef in Reuben sandwich and Philly cheesesteak makes it good value. Observant, efficient table service - nice for a change! 12.15pm was a nice time to arrive. However, we found the meat tasted the same in both - cooked to a beautiful doneness but lacking the smoked and spiced pastrami flavour we expect in a Reuben, and the cheesesteak was not what we expected with the name. (Try East Village for a more authentic Reuben comparison, although that's more pricey). Their fries - so tasty - even though I usually don't like skinny fries, but I would eat these any day thanks to their seasoning! We have to come back and try the huge range of other things, but just on those two items, it was ok. Ribs and wings, cheeseburger up next! P.S. This place is awesome. We got the platter which was a selection of brisket, smoked ham, buffalo wings and chilli sausage with a side of beans, slaw and mac n' cheese. Washed down with an accompanying whisky named Boulevardier of Broken Dreams it was amazing and full of flavour. The beer and whiskey selection is #Neklevel and hard to beat. Good family sized tables too. Highly recommended.

Good Texas style BBQ in Perth. Food was good, but a little pricey. Service was a little slow. I was alone, and ended up forgotten about. My server checked in on me once, and then I had to ask another server for a drink refill. At the end of my meal I waited for the check and finally went up to the bar to pay. Overall food is good, service was nothing great but then again this was only one experience. If I'm ever back in Perth I'll give them another go.

Tried the hot dog on my most recent visit and must say it was really really good. It came with a smoked cheese kransky sausage fully loaded with cheese bacon and pulled pork on a pretzel bun. Highly recommended if you're craving hot dogs as it stands out from what most places are offering.

Upgrading my review from my first experience, where we were turned away for not having a reservation despite the place being empty. Second experience we booked and got a table for two on a high table which is great for a snack and a drink, but not what you want when eating a big dinner. They may wish to rethink their seating plan as the majority of tables sit 8-10 and were all empty when we came. Management could fit in plenty more tables of 4 instead, which may be a more ideal table format. The overall atmosphere is good but the music doesn’t bode well with the theme at all. Cheesy retro music in a sophisticated restaurant, is like cheese and chalk. Hate, hate, hate. The drink selection is wonderful and fits into the theme of a bbq bar perfectly. Plenty of the latest big name craft beers on menu such as rocky ridge, feral, beer farm, cheeky monkey etc. Getting to the food - We tried an array of bbq meats including the BBQ chicken, Black Angus skirt, beef cheek, pulled pork and beef brisket. Our sides consisted of Fried Jalapeños and Fried smokey potatoes with blue cheese, maple bacon and coriander. All of the meats were cooked to perfection, with subtle smokey flavours throughout. The highlight by far was the BBQ chicken which was smokey, succulent and topped with a brilliant accompanying sauce. The sides were lacking. There was a lot of deep fried jalapeños, far too many for 2 people. They were really watery and the flavour was boring. The fried potatoes were worse, missing most of their key ingredients - the potatoes were not smokey, there was no blue cheese and flat leaf parsley, in lieu of coriander. Whilst the potatoes were nice on their own, it was disappointing to think what might have been. With a few tweaks, I believe this restaurant is capable of big things... but perhaps not yet.

Great service recovery. Had been wanting to go here for quite a while as it had a great reputation for awesome ribs. We were less than impressed with our initial order - rack of pork ribs. Dry, chewy and sinew-y. I was already writing the review in my head. When the wait staff asked how it was we politely said it wasn't great and we were disappointed, and gave the reasons. She returned with a new rack and they were FANTASTIC! So maybe we got a bad batch. I appreciated the way they took the feedback and then took steps to rectify to make sure we were satisfied. That is pretty rare in Perth these days. Good on you Old Faithful. We'll be back.

The MVP platter gave a nice variety of the offerings here - Southern fried chicken, beef brisket, smoky lamb ribs and pulled pork were great but honestly the mac & cheese is even more of a stand out. I must have been a carnivore in a past life because I love meat! This place is just the place for that. After my recent trip across USA I didn't have high expectations for a BBQ place here in Perth, never the less it was a decent meal. I think it could have been heated up a little more and the Brisket was not quite there yet, needed to be done "low and slow"-er as some of the fat hadn't rendered. Menu could be a bit clearer as it's kinda hard to guage how much your ordering, maybe more pre-selected options, that way you won't surprise us with hefty bill.

From start to finish this was a great dining experience. We were greeted outside by a friendly gentleman and promptly seated. There were heaps of staff everywhere which made ordering food and drinks easy and quick. We order a platter for 2 for my wife and I, and our 7 year olds eyes lit up when he saw a bucket of bacon on the menu. All meals and drinks are well priced. Highly recommend going here, as a chef myself believe me when I say, this is how a well oiled hospitality machine works. Oustanding experience. Thank you to all the staff.

Incredible food, great atmosphere, quick service. Always a delight dining at Old Faithful. The food is incredible as always and the changing tap selection always provides great tasting opportunities for new and exciting beers. Management appears to have recently changed, and as such the menu has been trimmed down and refreshed. Some welcome new editions such as a bucket of bacon went down a treat, but missing favourites like the beans and 90c wings will be dearly missed. Pour out one star for our missing homies - RIP the beans. Nonetheless, what remains will still blow you away.

Absolutely lovely slow cooked meats! Meat is to die for and just wants you wanting more and more. Their tap beers are a lovely match for the meat that have on offer. They also have daily specials (see photo provided) and other items on the menu. Their hot sauce certainly lives up to its name and isn’t for the faint hearted, that’s for sure! Good BBQ for Perth, but still has plenty of room for improvement. Brisket was overcooked, not tender enough and lacking taste. I asked the chef how long they smoke it for and he replied 14 hours. Definitely too long in my experience. Lamb ribs were disappointing. Too much fat, would be better off selling cutlets. Pulled pork was amazing however, with the perfect amount of sauce drizzled on top. Burnt ends were a great add on to our platter, tender, with a delicious gravy. The short rib too was done well. Maybe slightly overcooked but still kept its flavour. Overall a decent meal but I think if the chef's had the opportunity to experience authentic Texan bbq, they'd pick up a thing or two and go from good to great.

Went there last night, service was excellent and pretty much all the food was super tasty. We more or less created our own platter which is always exciting. Brisket and the short rib were to die for, but the pork ribs were way off. Could taste the dirty smoke. Like it was over smoked, or the ribs were put in the smoker before anything had burned off properly. Also the beers are crazy expensive, no options for the people that enjoy just a regular beer. In saying that this is the 2nd time I've been here and if I'm in the city and hungry it'd probably still be one of my first choices to dine. The staff all seemed super happy to be at work, including the chefs. Anyone who works in hospitality knows that's rare lol.

Have only been once and enjoyed it. Came here with a group of friends so we were able to try a few things. I thought the majority of food was pretty good but the beef short rib was the star in my opinion. The fried lamb was a bit tough as i believe it was fried a tad too long but still tasty. The beer list was very impressive too, not your usual mainstream beers. I'd recommend coming here just for the beer but then if you are there may as well get some foods to eats with your beer.

Great food and I found the staff very personable even during the peak hour on a weeknight I showed up. Loss of one star because the beef brisket was served cold, and was quite dry. A tasty Gin concoction to start with while deciding, Beef Short Rib - the Delicate Smokey bbq flavour, with the meat just clinging to the bone was perfect, a side of house rub dusted shoestring fries completed my meal, let’s not forget a pint of Sly Fox pale ale to wash it all down with. If you haven’t figured it out yet, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, great service and ambience are a bonus. A must visit on your list when your in the city. 👍🏼

So close to 5/5 we'll call it 5 stars. Last time I was here I said I would come back for the brussel sprouts alone. If you haven't tried them, you are missing out! Wed and Thurs are 10 buck negroni nights. I really enjoyed negroni night. It would have been beer night, but the best way to enjoy the all in platter is with as much stomach space as possible. There's more served than one could eat. Service was good, staff were pleasant. Great night. Come in early - people were waiting before we left.

I really wanted to like this place a lot but while the meats should've been the star dishes they weren't. We got the burnt ends, brisket, chicken wings, lamb ribs and a few side dishes. The brisket I found was a bit bland and just slabs of meat. They didn't really melt in your mouth or fall apart like brisket it meant to. The lamb ribs weren't bad though! They were juicy and fatty but the outside coating was a tiny bit dry. Our group just found that the meats were pretty average. That being said we really liked the side dishes! I would definately reccomend the brussel sprouts and cauliflower. The service was very good. We had a lovely waiter that tried her best to accommodate any requests we had.

We was a party of 12 all with drinks, the amount of food put on the table left no room for plates and drinks so we was eating off our laps and drinks on the benches.

This is an odd place. It has friendly staff, a massive Whiskey and Scotch selection and a large variety of other forms of alcoholic intoxication. To give you a sense of proportion, there were if I recall correctly six or so pages of alcohol and one page of food, didn't spot any soft drinks. Service was prompt though delivery from the kitchen was not quite that fast. Food was worth waiting for and offered lots of interesting variety, Fried Brussels Sprouts, Collared Greens, Smoked Cauliflower were all very interesting flavours. The menu is extremely meat heavy, so expect to get a week's worth of protein in one sitting. Lots of flavour, generous serve, all lovely. The noise levels were high, poor sound dampening and lots of hip surface to help echo each voice around the place. Seating was metal framed wooden benches. Not conducive to comfort. Our table of eight required some interesting contortion for those at the end to sit and reach the table. Meals were ordered separately - as in, we each ordered our meal, rather than an all in BBQ - and arrived on two trays, a meat tray and a veggie tray. All the meat just on a tray. Veggies were in cardboard boxes. It was interesting to attempt to find the bits we ordered. Would have been good to know this going in. I never did get more than a single bite of what I think was the chicken I ordered. Bookings were interesting as well. I phoned to book a table a week out, was insistently quizzed for a first and last name and finally completed the call. A few days later I needed to add two to the table, phoned again and left a message on voicemail. No confirmation. I sent a follow-up SMS the next day, still no confirmation. Got there early on the day in case there were any issues, but all seemed to have gotten to the right person. Confirmation would have been appreciated. Overall it was an interesting experience. Will need to consider how best to order next time.

The other meats were good and flavoursome but if the ribs make up more than half the meal its disappointing. The sides were okay but it really needs something to cut through the heaviness of the meal, most of it is more meat and heavy - even the coleslaw. Great concept but you need to balance the food better

The meat wad delicious but the surprise hit for me was the vegetable sides. both had the right balance of sweet, savoury smokiness with the nutty almonds balancing out the dishes. My husband and I were greeted by a friendly waitress and had us sit wherever we wanted even without a booking. Took our orders shortly after but came back three separate times to tell us that the beer, the steak sandwich and the ribs we ordered were all unavailable! The third time she came back, I honestly thought they were joking or something. She also suggested we order the pork sandwich in place of the steak as it's very similar! In what world are they similar, seriously? I wish they were more upfront about which items in the menu were unavailable, especially if people only have an hour for lunch. I mean they took the time to explain the specials, so not sure why that's such a hard thing to do.

Hipster Heaven... unlike their web page description of "relaxed and friendly service" we experienced slow service at bar and table. probably due to over booking/under staffing, and manager on the night had no clue. Whilst most of the food was OK waitress was too busy/stressed to explain menu items clearly so we ended up with a couple of dishes we probably wouldnt have ordered had we known they were fundamentally different to our expectation - eg the Pig Belly is definitely NOT like "Pork Belly".

Very yummy BBQ chicken and delicious deep fried jalapeños ( very 🌶 🌶). You pick the meats seperate and purchase the sides you want. Decent drink selection. Enjoyed the atmosphere here, we selected this Restaurant as a family "gift pick ". A relatively small restaurant for it popularity, BBQ pork ribs were the target menu selection, everyone in the family voted them best ever.
