I was here to celebrate a friend's birthday. I ordered tuna don while we had salmon rolls, grilled squid (ikayaki) and large sashimi to share while the rest ordered beef tepanyakki. I would like to love my tuna don but from tasting the tuna from sashimi I had a rough idea what my tuna don was going to taste like. The taste was mediocre.The same goes for the beef teppanyaki. It was quite salty and tasted pretty standard. On the flip side, the kingfish, salmon and scallop in the sashimi tasted delicious. We also loved the salmon roll and the grilled squid. Service was very good. Quick, friendly and accomodating.

Omg I love it! I ordered 'summer roll' and highly recommend! It was generous amount of sashimi was on the top and roll was huge! I can't put it in to mouth at once! The salmon was fresh and torched just enough. I will definitely go back and try other things :)

Pleasing food quality overall: 1. Fried oysters and soft shell crabs bear rich taste of their own kinds (not experienced in many local "Japanese restaurants" in the same price tier). 2. Raw scallops are juicy and sweet. 3. Eel served on rice is tender in texture. 4. Salmon on sushi roll is notably fresh, with decent amount of fried prawn and avocado inside each. 5. Squid is well-grilled but still juicy. 6. Spicy beef focuses on hotness, unlike a lot of caterers which bundle "sweet" and "hot" together. There's room for improvement, though, as preparation time is a bit longer than expected, but I'd rather wait than having substandard dishes.

Food was served promptly and it was nice. Only the fried yasai on the Bento (forgot to take photo) was a bit overdone. The egg on the oyako tori katsu was cooked just nicely and digging into it still leaves a 'watery' kind of feel which I like!

I only reserve 5 stars for placed that I believe go over and above. Where this place excels is the service and good provided at a very reasonable price. My wife is Japanese so we kind of get drawn to Japanese restaurants and this has to be a favourite of ours in Perth. We were introduced to the place by friends who live nearby.

Always had good experiences here. Service is fast and friendly, food is fresh and tasty, the atmosphere is casual and well lit, ample parking on the street, prices are reasonable but not the best. Lots of Asians dining in. Their temaki rolls are amongst the best in Perth.

Went here for a lunch after our usual place was full so we chanced upon this place, service was prompt and friendly, place was very nicely decorated and welcoming the menu had a wide range of sushimi,sushi rolls Bento and ramen to choose from so your pretty spoilt for choice. We went for a safe choice of teriyaki beef and pork katsu curry both dishes very flavourful and enough to fill out bellies, prices are average our dishes where around the $14-$16 range so pretty good value and wouldn't hesitate to come back.

Fantastic shashimi, must try the deep fried oysters, so juicy! The aburi sushi was wonderful, presentation was very nice and the service was lightnight quick. Well worth booking a day in advance as it's a small venue.

We were delighted with the Rainbow and Winter Tokumaki. The servings were huge and we felt rolling out of there. The tempura in the Winter was nice and crisp. I thought we'd have dessert but there was no room for that. The place is not too small for a suburban spot. You can see the regulars popping in as couples or singles. It's cosy like that. There was a party next to us but it wasnt too much of a din for good conversation.

Another hidden gem! Freshest seafood in a Japanese restaurant. Definitely worth finding this little place out. The pic is of the Sanshoku Don, which is simply fabulous. Also try their Tataki, Karaage, Sashimi and Tempura - it's all delicious!

Very friendly staff, good customer service, you can split bill. Food is good, we ordered Rainbow roll and chicken Katsu curry. Rainbow roll was good, eventhough some of the raw tuna and scallop was a bit on the fishier side, the salmon was really nice, it melted in the mouth. Chicken Katsu curry was a bit on the saltier side, the Katsu itself was crunchy and the rice that came with it was really nice, it came with miso soup too. There’s parking space just behind the restaurant.

The fried pumpkin(?) and onion was nice with it, but a bit too oily for my liking. It was a nice place to dine in though, and they had bamboo chopsticks which are always a plus.

Good service, tasty food, nice decor. They were fully booked but was flexible and squeezed us in on a table where they group was coming in about 1hr later, which was plenty of time for us. Tasty food, reasonably priced. Only place I know that does tamago sushi (not nigiri) which my son loves. Renkon chips was crispy and not oily. I really enjoyed the teriyaki tofu. There was some tension between front of house staff which was a little awkward but otherwise very good service. Would return for dine-in again.

Reasonable prices, sashimi was fresh, sushi was delicious and the M8 wagyu was juicy and tender. Cozy ambience and the staff offered 10 dollars off my wagyu because they said it was a smaller portion than usual. Thank you for you honesty! If they didn't inform me I wouldn't have known as it was my first time and I feel that the portion was very reasonable already. Definitely worth giving a try

The best kept secret in Manning! The food was super fresh and the staff were amazing as they catered to our group of 10 at the "low table". (Shoes off, but a footwell to cater for us, not so spring chickens!) It was a perfect way to celebrate my husband's birthday on a rainy afternoon. Two of our friends had never tasted Japanese food before and will definitely be going back. Highly recommended.

These guys are great and the food is always amazing. Learnt the hard way last night - ordered via menulog and driver delivered someone else's much smaller order. Driver denied mixing up orders. Menulog unhelpful to say the least. Sumeshiya remade our large order and had it at our door within 25 min and we're 10 min away. Deleted menulog but will keep using Sumeshiya even more regularly but we'll dine in or get it ourselves. Thank you for saving our night last night.

Although lady server was hilariously terrible in explaining the different types of ramen, the garlic broth was great. Tempura batter was very average but prawn tasted fine. Soft shell crab hand roll sushi was ok. Renkon chips too thick and hard. Appears to be run by non Japanese Asians, which may explain why food is very average, price is acceptable for this standard but you will be disappointed if you are expecting refined Japanese food.

Definitely recommend trying this place. Bao buns were a treat, Ramen was so good. Everything we had was so fresh and tasty.

This new restaurant is serving great tasting Japanese cuisine at very reasonable prices. The meals were quite large and see felt very satisfied afterwards. The staff are friendly and our orders were served within 10 minutes of ordering. With both takeout and dine-in options available this is great for a night out or a lazy night in. They are BYO drinks, so make sure if you want to drink you visit the local Mount Henry Tavern drive thru liquor store first about 600m away up Manning Road.
