Really nice food where you can really go wrong with any item on the menu. Wait times were good and staff were really friendly. However, it was quite pricy and I feel like it wasnt too special for the money. Overall, you can't go wrong if you eat here but be prepared to pay.

Had high expectations based on other reviews but didn't consider it anything to rave about. Food was good, staff polite and service good, portions not particularly filling, drinks menu very limited and didn't see any restroom but hadn't asked so maybe there was a toilet out back of the kitchen. Not bad all in all but have certainly experienced better.

Don't think I've ever had a bad meal here! During my most recent visit, we had the share menu (for 2) for $59 and loved everything! Sadly, the new special menu item - the ramen - was salty and quite disappointing. I have loved everything I've ever eaten on their regular menu though! And the staff are lovely.

It's a great place to catch up with one or a small group of friends for dinner. The soft lighting and light coloured wood interior deco created a modern ambience, just like the name, and the food was well presented. However, the lady in charge was not so accommodating with seating despite our booking in advance, which was rather an unpleasant start. And, 3 out of 4 dishes we ordered were rather salty - the Crunchy Salad had too much sesame dressing, the Cheesy Tofu was muddled in salty soup base and the Curly Brown was again slighty salty.

I have been to this restaurant countless times and it never disappoints. We returned again today and had an enjoyable Friday lunch. The service is warm and friendly. Food is exceptional. Definitely recommend the Salmon Oishi. It is my favourite dish on the menu.

Excellent service. Staff was very attentive and they brought us some free samples because it was our first time at the place! The atmosphere was good, the layout is simple and modern. Prices are reasonable. Overall I really enjoyed all the food and would recommend coming here. I suggest you get a few dishes and share them.

takeaway and dine in review in one... we got takeaway sushi and went back to dine in a couple of weeks later. sushi is quite interesting and has a few different ingredient/flavour combinations. service was really good and had some friendly conversation with the wait staff. when we ate in it wasn't too busy and the dishes we ordered came progressively so the meal was paced quite nicely and really enjoyable. i'd say this is a bit on the pricey side if you just want quick sushi, but if you enjoy it then pretty good?

We braved the winter hail and rain to head out to Mount Lawley to sample The Modern Eateries fare and it was ok, not the absolute best we have had as far as Japanese food goes but still glad we went. Service was very friendly and attentive, food was as you would expect but just found the surrounds a bit stark and uncomfortable only after 35 minutes. Three persons that all left a bit hungry afterwards came to $92 with no drinks.

We went to The Modern Eatery and had a mukbang. Plates came one after the other and they were all fantastic. The service was awesome, and the atmosphere is great. Very high quality, and not overpriced. Oishii.

They've changed their menu where they have reduced the amount of items on it. I previously frequent to the Fremantle branch where food was great especially the sweet potato salad. Price is slightly on the higher side, but the new menu doesn't do it justice as the price is higher but the food amount isn't sufficient as you might still leave hungry. The food is still great to eat but just not enough.

I went here for my dad’s 50th. the food was amazing, so fresh and flavoursome, one of the best restaurants I’ve ever eaten at in my life. Because it was our first time there, they gave us a special dish and they also wrote happy birthday in the sauce. 10/10 👌

We had a selection of sushi which was beautifully presented on warm iron platters. The food was tasty with unique sounding names, Fry me to the moon was. Salmon mayo sushi combo deep fried which was not greasy. YUM It is a BYO and we enjoyed a Vasse Felix SSB. Super friends staff. But there's. Nasty 2% surcharge on credit cards. I mean!
