Stunning coastal views, especially for a sunset. Service was friendly and attentive and the prices very reasonable. Food was tasty and decent wine list. Family or friends or a casual date night, don't be fooled by the shopping centre location. Will absolutely be returning!

Went out for dinner with some friends. They drove us via Fremantle, up the coast, then pulled up... ...out front of North Beach Farmer Jack's? Nope - upstairs is this gem of a place. Stunning views, tasteful decor, delicious food. We had the seafood linguine (my wife loved it - ate every bite, and she's a "shares a mains" kind of girl), pork belly, scotch fillet, herb crusted chicken, some fried potatoes and aoli on the side, with lemon lime and bitters and spicy ginger beer. On the sweeter side, we had the Panna Cotta, a honeycomb milkshake and 2 gingerbread milkshakes (i had both of those, and didn't regret a sip of it - order the milkshake, go for a run tomorrow). All of it was cooked (or mixed) to perfection, the staff were super friendly and i would recommend this place to anyone...

So lovely. Bit of a trek for me but for those of you living in the area you'd definitely want to be here on a lovely summer evening, on the balcony, eating lovely Italian food. Definitely try the porcini gnocchi and panacotta!

We wanted a view of North Beach during winter as a friend said it was quite spectacular from the tables at the widows of this restaurant. I remember this one place from two reincarnations ago but tis latest iteration looks nice. Some of us stuck to coffee while others opted for wine (there is a decent selection available by the glass). Service was friendly and very efficient. Credit cards are accepted and there is disabled access. Parking is free and the availability depends o the day and time. The food menu looked good and we will be back for a meal sometime.

Great find. Driven past numerous times and hardly noticed it before. Entrance is not obvious but the best view of the sea. We came for coffee. We stayed for breakfast, waffles and more coffee. All excellent. Great friendly service.

Went to Tom's Italian with a few friends Saturday 2nd Oct. Great view, place was packed, expected Service to be slow (on peak nights - no complaints) - our order was taken promptly and drinks arrived fast (bit of confusion with the Sangiovese wine on the Menu which turned out to be the right bottle but had a different name on the label). I ordered a steak (which was perfect btw), the Margherita pizza from the kids menu was quite disappointing (did look like the frozen pizzas at Coles with way less flavour - base was dry and unappealing to taste), creamy gnocchi were equally tasteless and to be forgotten. The pappardelle's sauce was quite nice and they tasted fresh, happy with their flavor and consistency. All in all, the view was great but I have to say that I was expecting more from a restaurant claiming to offer italian food (half jokingly, I thought it could be renamed Tom's (almost) Italian).....

Its stating to look a little dated inside and im wondering if the whole centre is not due to be demolished and rebuilt

Really nice place to watch the sunset. Good coabonera and the Aloha pizza as a definate must. Service is great. They are accommodating even if you are a walk-in. Bring some sunscreen if you're planning on sitting outside as the sun "gets ya"

Went to Tom's Easter Saturday with my 2 sons. Had a really good night, food was lovely and staff were very accommodating and friendly. Service was a little slow but they were under the pump. Sunset and ocean views were amazing 😎 Will definitely go back👩‍🍳😊🍻

The food was sensational. Best food I've eaten in a very long time. The arancini balls were the perfect crunch on the outside and texture on the inside and that Gnocchi ...OMG!!! The service was more miss than hit though which was unfortunate. 3 hours after we arrived we were still waiting for dessert, however they did remove dessert from the final bill and gave us 10% of the total. We will definitely be back.

Great food and great ambience! The restaurant had a stunning view of the ocean and a great potential to attract lots of clientele. The food is really good, although the mushroom risotto flavour was a little bit overpowered with unnatural stock. Portions and price are valued for money. The Service aspect however, will need more attention to details. As we came in through the door there were 3 wait staff behind the bar chatting to each other and did not bother to greet us or even acknowledge us with a simple eye contact. I order a beer which I though was by the bottle, however I received a can of beer opened (luckily not poured) full of dust on the top surface. Of course that was replaced without a problem, but did not seems to alarm the waitress much of the occured. When we asked for the bill the can of beer was still there, however, removed when we asked without hesitations. I work in the hospitality industry as well and I know how difficult it can be working long hours, dealing with lots of guest request and working under pressure. However, a simply eye contact, a good amount of effort and a willingness to care for a few more details it can make the experience a lot better. Room for improvement!

This place is so nice! Absolutely the best place to watch the sunset with a cocktail anywhere along the coast - unimpeded views off the balcony and a great menu. On advice from a waiter, come here about 7:30/8 to get a nice walk-in spot after sunset. Definitely book if you're wanting the golden hour though.

I booked a meal for my partner and I with the in-laws on a Saturday night. Unfortunately there was a private function being held in the upper bar area. We could not have a conversation with each as the noise level was more like a nightclub bar than a sit down restaurant. Food was very nice and we all did enjoy the meal though. Highly recommend checking if there is a private function on when making a reservation and if there is avoid at all cost.

Great views, nice food and friendly staff. However the service was a bit off. Took a long time to get served especially with drinks. The waitress mixed up the drinks orders twice! Opening bottles of wine that were not ordered, doubling up on drinks and charging for mixers even though they weren't ordered. Have to say I've been here before and not had a problem. Tom's Italian was a fabulous experience tonight. With a stunning location, smiles beaming from all the friendly staff, and food that is delicious, its an experience that cant help but leave you with a yearning to return. Myself and my girlfriend managed to tip over a full glass of shiraz. We felt terrible but not only did they clean up the rivers of red wine in a flash, but they topped up our depleted glasses....for free!!! And even though its not traditional in Australia, I did leave a hefty tip, which for me was thouroughly deserved. Well done! Alan Landy

Great food... Great service... Great view... The first thing you notice is the service, you don’t need to get anyone’s attention, you can tell by the way they scan the room they’re on to it. You can see they care about what they do and want to make your experience enjoyable. A great simple menu with reasonable prices and a good beverage selection. The food tastes amazing. Even on a cold rainy day the view was fantastic from anywhere in the room. We’ll be back, in fact we booked again before we left.

I give the 4 stars because of the atmosphere, the way that the tables being set and of course the ocean view from the deck. The food itself however is a little bit below the bar, especially for $40-$50 per person price range, I would have expected more from the chefs. We ordered pasta, risotto and pizza. Pasta was fine, as I said nothing particularly good, but not bad either. Risotto was a bit salty, but that was subject to personal opinion, and after chef re-did the dish, it was okay to me. As for the pizza, the crust was thin, but flavour was rather "under-flavoured" and seemed not to be quite generous with cheese which I believe played a pivotal role in the Italian cuisine. Overall speaking, it is a good restaurant and if you haven't been there before, by all means, give it a go. The restaurant is very spacious and with the breath-taking ocean view, which is good for family weekend lunch. BTW, staffs are extremely friendly and offered very warm services to us. Thank them. I will be visiting this place couple months later and see if it has anything new.

This venue used to be the Soda Sun Lounge. In its new incarnation it's a casual dining place with an Italian feel. The view is amazing. Watch the sun set on the ocean - it can get a bit breezy on the deck though. The food is reasonably good, although my friend and I only stopped in for entree and wine.

I recently hosted a work function at this marvellous restaurant, and it couldn't have gone any better. The food and drinks were delicious! Our guests are still raving about it. The service was extremely attentive and thoughtful. When setting up for the event, I didn't have to worry about a thing. Plus watching the stunning sunset over the ocean topped it off! I would 100% recommend hosting an event at Tom Italian!

I had my baby shower here this weekend and it went off without a hitch! Service was excellent; staff accomodated the needs of about 30 of us easily and with great attitude, food was amazing (everyone was commenting on how good it was) and the venue itself it stunning! AND they do split billing which makes things so much easier! I highly reccomend this place, and will definitely come back to try their dinner menu and cocktails!

WE tried this restaurant with friends who had been before and enjoyed the Tuesday night pasta special and were pleasantly surprised! They were absolutely beautiful pastas, not just boring penne etc but pulled beef and pork - very nice! The service could be a little warmer / friendlier as it seems they may rely a little too much on the view / location for return customers.

The service and floor staff were amazing tbh, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is defintley light and lovely but we were let down by the food. Which was a bit of a shame. It's very possible we just got unlucky but my pasta was bland, beetroot in the beetroot salad was soft and overcooked and I'm not sure why but our margarita pizza had fresh boccocini on it apposed to it being cooked with the rest of the pizza.

I was curious about booking Toms Italian as I had never enjoyed the previous restaurant, ( the soda sun lounge). I was delighted to find, great service .... Delicious food, not pretentious, and a comfortable relaxed atmosphere... Party of 8, with 3 courses each, drinks, and a bill of $520.... I'd say that was pretty good value... It's so much better than the soda lounge !!! I'll definitely be back......

Being local in North Beach, we all have our favourite places to visit time and time again. Mine is Tom's Italian, above the North Beach Shopping Centre. It simply feels like a comfy lounge room with your own family caring for you. The staff make a incredible effort to connect to so many of the customers and we all feel like the favourite of the family. As a fan of good Italian food, Tom's is my go-to 2 or 3 times a week. Thank you Tom's for the food, the spectacular views and the love that you so freely give.

Nice food, great happy hour. Our group paid separately for what they had, but at the end of the evening we were presented with a bill for $80 which looked like a duplication of what we had already paid for. Hit or miss place. Usually enjoy the vibes and the views, and the food is decent, but service could be a lot better. Waited a couple minutes at the entrance for a table and was not acknowledged or greeted, even though multiple staff walked right past me.
