Try finding a more natural, authentic tasting pizza, done in a unique style. The ingredients are incredibly fresh, no oiliness and no feeling like a fatty post meal. The base is crisp from curst to centre, something of absolute rarity. Just simple, pure perfection with so much satisfaction.

Unfortunately, our table was next to a big group and it was pretty uncomfortable to chat between us.
We're sure that the dining experience would be much better if they install acoustic panelling and keep improving their unique concept.

Amazing service, delicious Italian wines and some of the best pizza I’ve had in Sydney! Their crust is so thick but the pizzas have more than enough toppings so you don’t feel like you’re eating just bread. I tried the Diavola and the Carbonara pizzas, and while both were delicious, the Carbonara one was definitely my favourite. They also have vegan and gluten free pizzas, and on the weekends you can choose to have a wholemeal sourdough base for you pizza. Will definitely be back!

Nice upbeat vibe with music and of course the pizzas are good but more of an authentic crunchy crust just so you know what to expect. The menu is not huge but it doesn’t need to be, options are there for veg and non-veg. Staff are great, very attentive.
The desserts are tops, you could go just for that if you already had dinner elsewhere.

Pizza, whether good or bad, is alchemy. Working somewhere halfway between baking and cooking but dialling both to the Nᵗʰ degree can yield wonderful accidents or disastrous results. Probably one of the best examples of the former is Al Taglio – a pizzeria/laboratory specialising in pizza by the bite. Each slice is carefully dressed and profiled, focusing on the combination of bread, dairy and market to deliver super interesting flavour combos (eggplant puree and swordfish/zucchini, ham and creme fraiche) without losing any of the refinement and time × effort required to output the most essential component: the dough. Here, you have 3 choices, Italian flour, wholemeal sourdough or GF. The twist? They're all good. There's no lack of work out into any that would suggest that they are simply "alternatives", each presents a unique textural profile that sets centre stage for the topping. High moisture, long ferment is my plebeian guess, the result of which is less gluten to break down. A whole pizza for one? No problem.

This place is wonderful. So friendly with a great team of staff. The food is delicious. We had Quatro fromagio pizza and gnocchi. Their lemoncello spritzer is a must try.

I use to believe pizza its a difficult kind of food of innovate, in general pizzas are similar, and variations are not big between gourmet standards, but this place exceeded my expectations by far !! What a pizza !! It’s the most creative and delicious pizza I have ever tried, I can’t even describe in words, the flavors are incredible, and the crust it’s out of this world, you can tell that all the ingredients are fresh and juicy. Plus the place it’s very cozy, the staff is very friendly and the attention was very up to the point. Congrats, it’s definitely my fav pizza place in Syd.

So so so delicious! Went with a friend and we enjoyed the pizza we ordered a lot. It's not a cheap place but the price is definitely appropriate for the quality you receive. Menue seems assorted but you can find very basics such as Margarita pizza and it was awesome.
Edit: Adding on to my previous review but 4 years later : Still amazing, can recommend to come here for a lunch with friends, for a date or a even a business meeting. Friendly team, very attentive service and small but great selection of pizza. Vegan and GF option available as well as different variations of sourdough crust and an internationally inspired weekly special pizza. We didn't order it but it did sound amazing. We just had already pre-selected our pizza. Wine menu is small selected and on point. I had a glass of the Pinot Grigio and wish I had 3. 😊

Some of the best pizza in Sydney, and different to the Neapolitan pizza you find at most popular pizzerias in Sydney.
The dough/crust at Al Taglio is phenomenal - very crispy on the outside, but soft and pillowy on the inside. A major bonus is that whenever I eat this pizza, I never feel bloated from the dough no matter how full I get (maybe due to the way it is proofed?).
In addition, the toppings are always fresh, changing often depending on seasonal availability.
Very highly recommend the diavola, al taglio, and quattro formaggi pizzas. The margherita is also great.
The birramisu / biancamisu dessert is also a must try. A great twist on the classic tiramisu.

Really great pizza. The crust is crispy and super light. Won't leave you feeling heavy, being filled up on a thick based pizza. It's a relatively small restaurant, so booking ahead is advantageous or arriving earlier in the evening. Staff are very friendly and very attentive.

The crust was thin and crispy and the toppings were delicate and full of flavour.
Tonight we went back for rheir special of the day pizza which was the tomato based sauce seafood pizza with chilli aioli and squid ink sauce. Beautifully flavoured!
The kid had his favourite ham pizza and gave his thumbs up.

There is only one reason I am not giving 5 stars to this place: I think the pizza menu has not enough choices, plus the toppings are not the greatest.
I have been to Al Taglio with my boyfriend and I ordered an Ortolana, that supposed to have seasonal vegetables, while he ordered a cheeses and truffle.
Since it's summer, I was expecting Capsicum, zucchini and eggplant on my pizza ( and those are the ingredients that usually you expect on the Ortolana) . But when my pizza came at the table, I was disappointed because on my pizza there was Carrot, onion and just dew stripes of zucchini. And in the middle, as garnish: a leaf of lettuce! I have never seen a pizza with carrot! I am sorry but I was expecting a pizza, not a salad! The ingredients were definitely fresh, but not a good match for a pizza.
On the other hand, I have to say that the pizza dough is really amazing, it's perfect: light, easily digestible, a good balance of different types of flour, impeccable leavening.
My boyfriend's pizza, was very good. Good choice of ingredients, good balance with the truffle oil.
I would avoid the lettuce in the middle of the pizza. I know it is just for garnish, but no reason for that leaf to be there.
Overall, the best dough quality I have tried in Sydney! As customer I would prefer to see a slightly different choice of toppings.

You know you are in a ‘straight-from-Italiano’ experience when the beer on the menu does not have Birra Moretti, rather than the homeland local go too selection.

I just had dinner here with 3 more friends. We had one pizza margarita con prosciutto and one pizza Quattro formaggi, also some bruschettas and a caprese salad. I walked past the restaurant on a Saturday morning and saw loaves of bread, fruit, pizza bases free for people struggling through the pandemic. I was visiting the area for work and decided to order take away. Ordering was straight forward via phone and cooking time was a speedy 10mins. I ordered the Diavola pizza, Italian ricotta cake, and a Coke. As others have reviewed, the pizza was fantastically flavoursome with a crispy base, and the ricotta cake was just the right consistency. Despite the excellent quality, I do feel the pizza was a bit overpriced. A $28 pizza, it was not.

Having entrée focaccia prosciutto (lots of salad leaves), gnocchi sorrentina and Sfiziosa pizza. the pizza crust at the bottom is quite hard and dry, at that time is not really busy but it takes quite long time to find and call the staff for ordering our foods. The staff offering us a drinks (still water or sparkling water) but didn't get us a glass/cups like the others customer's got when their first sat down on the table.😅
It's hot when sit in indoor area and not that spacious like on the photos.

I found the atmosphere here pretty good albeit smokey this day and they had no way of keeping it out as it's all open plan. The food is decent price and drinks are okay. I have been to many pizza places in Sydney and love to try new venues. With Al Taglio, I feel the pizza is very different to your standard Napoleon style pizza which I know they are proud of, however, for me, I found the texture a little unsatisfying for a pizza. It didn't quite scratch that pizza itch. It didn't have that soft stretchy dough feeling you usually get. Still pretty decent but I would argue Sydney has a lot more to offer before coming here. However, others clearly enjoyed it so worth giving a go if in the area and want a nice outside area.

Damn that's good pizza. It's cooked evenly and the flavours are balanced. It's not just thrown together... It's really put together with care. It's on the pricier side, but for a pizza this good, I'm happy to pay it. Nice service. Small restaurant. It wasn't packed, so you probably don't need to book for small groups. Have been here twice and this is the best pizza I've eaten. A big call having lived in Italy. The sourdough base is superb and the toppings are mouth-watering. Took me straight back to Italy. I'm wheat intolerant but having heard the owner uses only quality flours (and ingredients) and a 48 hour sourdough base, I tested the gluten option and I was absolutely fine.. Win! These people are obviously passionate about what they do and it's reflected in their lip-smacking food. The spritz is also made properly which is a bonus. Well done! Disappointed by the pizza considering all the accolades it has won. It wasn’t bad pizza, but it was nothing special. Maybe the chef was just having a bad night, as I can’t imagine every other effusive review written about it is wrong.
If I was staying nearby and wanted pizza I would go back, but I certainly wouldn’t make a special trip here.
However, staff were friendly and attentive and the sharing platter starter was good.

I really like this place. The truffle pizza is really good and I think their crust is some of the best in Sydney. The gnocchi was not very good, more like mashed potatoes than the springy gnocchi I like. We ordered bruschetta and it never came so can't speak on that. I have been able to just show up and get a table for two but it seems busy enough where you may have to wait at times. Their service could be improved as multiple times they have forgotten to deliver food but when it does come it's really good.

It's tricky to rate this place...
I just wanted a good Italian style pizza, but I got something too experimental.
The cheese isn't melted, but sits atop cold. (It's nice fluffy mozzarella which would be good for a salad but not a pizza imo.)
Also, the olive pate dominated the taste far too much.
The biggest shame is that they could absolutely nail a more traditional style pizza as they have the expertise and the base is excellent.

If you want to try a pizza different from every other pizza you had in the past, definitely try this. I am not telling you that you will love it, but I did. You will learn about what flour to use and what difference it makes, the reason behind other ingredients, process of dough raising, how to cook a perfect pizza in your home oven, pizza sauce, toppings, anything you wanted to know about pizza, you will find out at this class. After the theory is over, you get to make your own dough, cook pizza, and enjoy it over a few drinks. The host and the owner, Enrico, delivers the class in a welcoming and easy to follow manner, at the end of which you will feel like you are at a get together among friends.

The pizza is amazing. I don’t really eat zucchini but I made an exception this time. Wanted to have some gnocchi but they only had ravioli and it turned out that that’s the best ravioli I ever had! One suggestion is they might need to expand their drink list or give Byo options.

I'm quite picky when it comes to many things and pizza is one of them. Al Taglio is the best pizza I've tried in Sydney along with Rosso Pomodoro. Both are different styles, this one is crispier and the bottom more solid. I can say it's the closest thing to the pizza you can find in Italy. Last time I order the Prosciutto one and it was top notch. If they improved the oleo picante then it would be perfect.
