Comments of Alibi Bar & Kitchen
B. 8.
Vegan fine dining being done right at Alibi. Menu is impressive and we also had matched wines, which really makes the experience, and prices are as you’d expect for the top level of fine dining.
Vibe is more modern/younger more so than a traditional one. Restaurant is located within the hotel on the wharf, but it’s organised in such a way that it feels like it’s own venue. There’s a bar attached if you want a drink before or after.
A good choice for a memorable dining experience.

Love the idea of a fully vegan high tea 🌱 and enjoyed with good friends!
The Alibi offered some very pretty food in great ambience. We couldn't get enough of the salt baked sweet potato on crostini and I liked the peppermint gum pea tart too! Overall the menu was ok and not what I expected from reviews. Have read good reviews of the staff but the service for us was unfortunately hit or miss. However will return to try their dinner menu.

A favourite - bar area has plenty of space so never an issue to have dinner without reservation. Love the pool table. Restaurant menu is more extensive than the bar menu. Staff are always friendly. Would love to have the rice cakes back on the menu! Didn't get to enjoy enough of the previous menu before covid lockdown!
J. Y.
Staff was friendly and was happy to explain the dishes. We tried the smaller set menu and found that while the plating and general concepts were good, the food itself didn't taste great (other than the starter sourdough bread and almond butter).
The recommended champagne also didn't pair well with some of the cold elements on a few plates. Dessert was a bit too heavy with the petit fours and didn't feel special.
For this price tier we would have hoped for more distinctive and memorable flavours but ultimately it was just interesting concepts that didn't translate to a satisfying meal.

First time in life to experience a 6- course 100% vegetarian dining, which was above expectations, great creativity and efforts to contribute in the making of each dish to make it not just tasty also eye- catching. Amazing dining experience to mark our last dine out for 2021.

My Favourite Sydney fine dine Vegan restaurant! They serve 6 or 8 course menu which is worthy of an experience for any one who appreciates vegan food and above all the craft of making a yummy plant based full course meal.
The Alibi bar is amazing too if one just wants to sip some cocktails and keen for some vegan bar food!
A. V.
I have stayed at Ovolo in the past and dined at Alibi. Loved their vegan cheeseburger spring rolls which they no longer make. On this occasion I ordered the raw lasagne and high tea for take away. The presentation is Instagram worthy. Even accommodated my late order. Only reason why I'm giving 4/5 stars is because cutlery wasn't included otherwise it would have been 5/5. Highly recommend. Highlight was the vegan tiramisu. Thank you to the staff who accommodated my request.

Had the High Tea on a Saturday afternoon and while the place looked beautiful, everything was a little underwhelming. Atmosphere was very quiet and dry and the service was very slow and the free-flowing bubbles didn't flow as freely as it should have.
The food was okay, not enough variety, or savory food for my tastes. The green pot of avocado (?) was really not great. Not great value for money.
X. T. T.
We had the choose your own tasting menu. The foods were interesting and diverse. Some were a little bland, but otherwise it was very lovely. Would definitely head back for the cocktails and to try the bar menu! The staff are also lovely!

Such a incredible spot in the centre of an old wharf with plenty of space to enjoy your food. Delicious, well balanced vegan food that doesn’t taste like rubber. It has that mouth feel you know, the one where every bite is savoured and you want just that little bit more. I recommend pairing your food with some wine! Will 100% come back for seconds. Fabulous service as well
D. Y.
Such a unique vibe! We visited just after NYE so only the bar and bar menu were available (burgers, nachos etc). Unfortunately the bar menu displayed on their website varied quite a lot from what we had when we arrived, and a few items we had our eye on were no longer available, but we found options. The place was well cooled and comfortable, even on a 40 degree day
D. B.
Sensational restaurant. Creative, beautifully presented and delicious vegan food at surprisingly reasonable pricing ($20 a dish or so). Feels like an adult playground with so many differently styled restaurant areas that coalesce into one creative, eccentric space. Can play old school arcade games for free! Lovely service too. Will 100% return. Highlight dish was the eggplant parmigiana but all were great.
D. L.
Had High Tea with a group of friends here and it was fantastic.
Alibi is located just inside Ovolo. The decor and atmosphere of the restaurant was excellent; airy and bright. The tables were a bit low but seats were comfortable. The service we received was great.
The highlight was definitely the food.
The presentation platform was fairly unique for a high tea (in Australia) but I was more interested in each individual item. Everything looked incredibly appetising, and I savoured each bite. My favourite was the chocolate dome and wished I could get another piece.
Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience and I would not hesitate going back again for the High Tea, or just dine in general.

Four of us had a wonderful meal here Jan 22. We chose the 6 course tasing menu and it was plenty of food and left us all fully satisfied and praising the creativity, taste, and texture combinations.
The waiter was friendly, chatty and very knowledgeable so everytthing worked seamlessly.
Cocktails and glasses of house wine were the perfect accompaniment.
Who needs meat or dairy ?
D. R.
Their set menu was absolutely great. Everything here is vegan and doesn't take you feel like it. We tried thier mandarin IPA which was amazing as well. Make sure yoy skip a meal if you are having the set dinner as it is quiet a lot for one person or give your self time to enjoy food. :) the wait staff were lovely. The place is gorgeous perfect for a cosy date night feels.
G. G.
We had a lovely evening tasting the 8 course dinner menu.
It is plenty of food, my partner and I were celebrating our anniversary and when it was time for the dessert to make an appearance, the team had it written on the plate.
Lovely touch!
Quiet and relaxing ambiance located inside one of Sydney’s oldest wharf.
Over all I would recommend it!
M. L.
Sensational food. Service is fab without it being intrusive, we felt incredibly satisfied with the food - usually with vego options you walk away feeling hungry still or just dissatisfied with the lack of variety or creativity but this is definitely one of Sydney’s top vegetarian restaurants to write home about!

I was looking forward to trying this place out after hearing raving reviews from my friends and honestly I wasn’t that impressed. I took the same friends who have dined there before and it didn’t look like they were impressed either.
We sat in the lounge area where the waitress kept tripping over our lounge chairs no matter how much we tried to move and tuck ourselves into the table. I was basically straddling the legs of the table by the end of the night. She was short staffed and looked understandably tired, so I don’t blame her. The seating was just so odd, paired with louder than usual non ambient restaurant music, it was not a comforting atmosphere.
Usually when I go to places and they serve mocktails, it’s quite disappointing, but here they served me a beautifully mixed mocktail that was right up my alley. Bar/drinks menu is big which is great.
However, the food was the downfall. The raw lasagna was flavourful and fresh, but all I could taste after a few bites was straight up ‘cheesy’ pesto. It was incredibly small for a sharing dish. It barely fed one person and was cumbersome to break apart to share.
The Mexican salad was big enough to share, but not even worth sharing considering there was nothing Mexican about it apart from corn that tasted straight from the can. The sweet potato gnocchi (just the gnocchi) was over cooked and under seasoned. The purée underneath also tasted like it came out of a can and was barely warm. And it was garnished with stale popcorn. Strawberry shortcake was also disappointing. The pairing with coconut sorbet was nice, but the actual cake was chewy (unless it was gluten free then I understand why) and the strawberry purée/jam tasted so sweet and artificial.
The highlight was 100% the burger however. The crumb on the southern fried chick’n was perfect and tasted great. If you were to spend money here for food, I recommend the burgers. With a menu that has many different cuisines on it, your safest bet is always a burger. And let’s not forget that little odd menu item in the desserts section where you can pay $450 for dessert in a hotel room *wink wink*.
I don’t think I will want to come back here however. I can definitely pay half the price for these dishes elsewhere and it’ll be much better than here unfortunately.

5 out of 5 for the following reasons;👍🏽
COVID-19 Protocols;
NSW Health, mandatory check-in, in place, as well as access to hand sanitizer at the entrance and one next to the coffee machine. Staff busy wiping down the tables and keeping the area sanitized.
Friendliness & service; Great staff here, friendly, welcoming and diligent in keeping everyone happy, serviced and most importantly, enjoying their coffee, tea, juices and food 👍🏽
Food and coffee; Esoresso machine to enjoy your morning decaf-coffee, coffee and tea. Staff encourage you to sit down, enjoy the area, relax, don't worry about leaving quickly and if desired, help yourself to a take-away coffee cup of coffee.👍🏽
Value for money; $19.00 to have a European breakfast ( bread, cereal, juice, pastries, juice, coffee, tea, as well as cooked eggs, hash- browns, quiches, foccacia, oven roasted tomatoes) AND, cheeses and homous. excellent value because of the bottomless cups and access to take away coffee✔👍🏽
Great service team! I will be back💯.

Alibi is the best restaurant in Sydney and never disappoints. The new menu is delicious: every dish has been carefully and creatively crafted, and works so well together. The restaurant itself (inside Woolloomooloo Wharf) has its own “unique” vibe (with classic 80s music, which I love, often playing in background). It’s a perfect place - whether you’re dining alone or with family, or even on a romantic night out. The staff (Rebecca in particular) are always extremely friendly, and go out their way to make you feel comfortable and give you a memorable first class dining experience. Absolutely love this place.
T. T.
Now one of our favourite plant based restaurants in Sydney! 🙌
Very funky vibe. Great for date night or to impress a vego/vegan friend. Everyone should give this place a go!
The bar is also pretty cool so make sure you head there for a drink before or stay for a few after!
I highly recommend the gnocchi and the zucchini flower 👌
Veges are so delicious!

Alibi High Tea with pick up option saved us during this lockdown. The touch of savory moment at home with the family. We've already had it twice and will order again!
R. H.
Trendy, friendly and welcoming establishment. The staff was warm, knowledgeable and consistent in their service. The 8 course tasting menu was enjoyable, dedicate and gentle on the palate with good quality ingredients. Thoroughly enjoyable atmosphere making it an excellent location for dates or if you want to do your part to be kind to animals.
L. “. Z.
Went here for the Vegan High Tea on a quiet Sunday afternoon for a friend's birthday. The service was good, mocktails and tea excellent. Highlights were the duck pancakes, bagel w cashew cream cheese, choc sponge, and mango cheesecake.
J. S.
What an amazing experience! We got the 8 course degustation and wasn't disappointed once. The staff were utterly delightful and the food equally so. All vegan and simply stunning.
J. S.
Cocktail heaven! The spirtz with a surprise is an immersive experience, delivered to your table in a steaming platter, topped with baby's breath and quality customer service. The vegan share plates are perfect to pair with any of the cocktail experiences. I will definitely be back for a brunch or high tea!
L. D.
Did the set menu with matching wines and absolutely loved it!! So much beautiful fresh produce perfectly balanced with rich flavours. Would highly recommend Alibi to any vegans and anyone willing to give vegan food a try. I'm vegan and my partner isn't and we both equally enjoyed ourselves.
M. G.
Amazing creative vegan food and a nice atmosphere with good tunes. Really enjoyed the meal and drinks here!
Had the charcoal steamed buns, charred broccoli and miso ramen, all were delicious. Desert was a tasty mint ice cream sandwich.
Highly recommend this place!
J. T.
My first time at a vegetarian focused restaurant! The food was tasty, filling and delicious! The decor is beautiful inside the Ovolo hotel. Do go for a wander or just chill out at the Alibi Bar! Definitely coming back for a visit again some time!
A. P.
Came here twice, once for tea time & once for dinner. I was very pleased with the service and cleanliness of the restaurant (located inside of a hotel). With tea time you get unlimited tea with sweet and savory bites and a glass of wine OR you can be fancy and get an entire bottle of wine. For dinner, the food came out quickly and staff was very attentive. Their flower power drink was amazing also. Will definitely return the next time I’m in Sydney.
B. J.
Delicious food, incredible atmosphere and even better service!!!! Went on a date night here and it was better than perfect. The waitress Svetlana was incredible. She made me the night fun and carefree, she was knowledgeable about everything and the kindest waitress I have ever met. She is one of a kind ❤️
N. E.
A very trendy crowd, the bar staff are friendly and attentive to quickly serve. We had a private room with great service provided by the waitress. There are lots of variety to choose drinks, recommend then liquid Nitrogen gin. We came for our Christmas work function so it's a great place for large groups.
J. R.
Visiting from the states and saw this restaurant featured in one of the Instagram vegan sites I follow. Went there with my college-aged vegan daughter. We both got the 8-course plant-based tasting meal with the additional beverage pairing. Everything about the experience was phenomenal; the ambiance, service, staff, beverages, and food. The food and beverage pairing was exquisite. My daughter loves Baklava, so we also ordered an additional Baklava and Ice Cream desert. The pictures below are in order of the tasting menu, which is also pictured. Highly recommend for a nice evening out.
D. C.
Great vegan food with a cosy ambience. Service was top notch as well.
We had the 9 course tasting menu which cost $70 per person.
The charcoal bao and the kelp noodles were the best of them all.
Highly recommended for vegans and non-vegans too!
A. W.
Beautiful vegan based high tea experience. A modern take with their sweet and savoury offerings. Their tea selection are wonderful too with great flavours and aroma
R. G.
They have some unique items on the menu. It seemed lot of effort goes into preparation and presentation. The food taste is not bad but also not great for the price that you pay.
B.
Seriously. When someone asks you what your favourite restaurant in Sydney is... You'll think of Alibi. 10 stars. This blows away the already-high standards of vegan food in Sydney. I will 100% take my first dates to this divine place. LOVE that they put Suite Desert on the menu (a hotel room and desert). Will be back many times.
E. A.
Came in for the high tea for a friend’s birthday on 27/02. Staff were amazing - even if they were understaffed, they made sure to attend to all of their patrons. Vegan high tea was interesting but likely wouldn’t come back for it.

Food: 10/10
Atmosphere: 10/10
Staff: 10/10
My partner and I decided to come to Sydney from Melbourne for an extended weekend for our anniversary. Happy to say if we did nothing else this trip the meal alone would've made our weekend.
We were both a little overwhelmed by the menu as we're used to only having one or two vegan options to choose from so we decided on the eight course tasting menu. The dishes came out two at a time, along with a detailed explanation of each item from the highly knowledgeable staff members.
Standout items were the charcoal steamed buns and the slow cooked carrots, though it was an extremely tough decision due to everything being out of this world incredible.
The staff were fun, friendly, knew the ins and outs of each dish, and went above and beyond to make our night something to remember.
I'll be recommending Alibi to anyone that mentions heading to Sydney from here on out.
R. R.
Albeit we had an issue with the booking, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. Felix who looked after our table made us feel very special. The food is always on point. Highly recommend dining at Alibi.
A. A.
Done a lot of high teas in my time and I can honestly say that this is the best. Everything is not only absolutely delicious but extremely artistic and unique. Highly highly recommend this whether you are vegan or not
D. K.
Alibi is a plant based restaurant inside the Ovolo Hotel. Inside is an industrial and warehouse setting, well decorated and ambient vibe.
I saw a lot more people here dressed well rather than casual so I suggest to dress like a night out if you choose to visit
Our table ordered the tasting menu for 65pp.
Plenty of dishes, comes out quick and very filling by the end of it.
This place is more unique and exciting than a typical meal you get at a fancy restaurant although it looks like any other restaurant.
I suggest a visit if you are feeling adventurous or want to convince someone that a plant based diet can be just as tasty as a meat one.
f.
Good feed, had their takeaway menu. beef burger and fried chicken waffle. Their fried chicken burger was my favourite though. Great plant based selection. Must try is their mac and cheese balls of course!! 😋
M. M.
We had high tea for a friends birthday and the food was so good! it was presented beautifully, even tho it didn't look like a lot of food it was so filling. also the staff were not stingy on that bottomless prosecco - had a great time.
J. M.
Did anyone say plant-based fine dining? Didn't even know it was a thing, until I tried their 8 course tasting menu. Amazing! Every dish was carefully crafted and the flavors are all smoothly put together to create masterpieces. A must try
K. M.
My wife and I came to Alibi Bar yesterday and we were very happy that we did. The food was amazing and the the drinks were special and very tasty. The atmosphere was very set up nicely. The staff was wonderful especially our waiter. His name was Toby, super friendly and helpful with our decision. My wife & I order the Kimchi dumplings! Make sure to add a fourth one since it comes w/ three. Trust me you and your partner do not want to share them. We also ordered the beet hummus, very delicious and I’m not much of a beet person but wow very tasty. For our mains we order the zucchini lasagna & polenta verde. Both very delicious and put together. I will definitely come back here again and pay a visit to Toby :)
A. B.
A wonderful vegan night to remember.
My partner and I went for our anniversary and we're treated absolutely superbly. The staff we friendly and attentive while still giving us space. We ordered the $65 tasting menu and weren't disappointed at the value for money or the quality. My favourites were anything with 'cheese' in it.
I would definitely recommend splashing out for any of the cocktails (they're all vegan) as the presentation of them is something else.
We will be returning and recommending to all our friends. Thanks Alibi team for making our special night a memorable one. And for treating us with a glass of bubbles and a mocktail (my partner doesn't drink) to celebrate.
I. D.
Really imaginative vegetarian meals. Staff were really friendly and took time to explain the dishes and answer questions. Would recommend even to the hardest core meat eaters .. sometimes it's good to explore the other side of the fence ... the grass really is greener.
M. K.
Amazing interior, sleek, high end yet qurkie trendy vibes. Quite pricey, but worth the experience for sure!
All their cocktails and majority of their wine list are plant based. The food is to die for! Your taste buds will go on an awesome wild rollercoaster ride, while your brain catches up on figuring out what it might be eating as the taste and texture is out of this world.
It's a must try place with high class yet chilled out vibes. And the cocktails will blow your mind. I recommend the cocktail "Bloody Marvelous".
S. G.
By far one of the best vegan joints around. Great food, good atmosphere, incredible vegan cocktails + wine, lovely staff and the best kimchi dumplings! It's well worth the visit.
R. T. (.
Not worthy of its price but beautiful place
Good for Insta pic 😆
K. C.
Alibi is by far the fanciest bar vegan burger meal in Sydney. I mean I had a $25 negroni in a smoking gun. A little tacky and probably wasn't worth the prop but it was memorable.
The venue was lovely in the Ovo on finger wharf. The service of course was excellent and what you'd expect from a top hotel.
The filet O fysh I had was fantastic. I'd like a little more tartare but the Fysh itself was crispy and nice and the milk bun was soft. The size was also good, well for $20 it better be.
I think had I stopped there and gotten a salad Id've been happy. However we went the whole hog with tater tots, onion rings and cheeseburger spring rolls. By themselves they were excellent. Tots and rings were real crunchy, well seasoned and cooked. The spring rolls I could've done without.
All up it was great. I wouldn't say I love it and I'm not sure why.
a. b.
8 course tasting was DELICIOUS and I'm not a vegan! Totally appreciate the talent and thought behind all these dishes, customer service was incredible from every single person we encountered and the cocktails were icing on the cake!
M. V.
Had dinner in there recently and staff has done a good job explaining dishes, everything was well presented and the venue is spectacular but the food itself was okay which is a bit disappointing, flavours were bland and the courses combination didn't pair to each other. I still keen to try their high tea though.
E. S.
FULLY STACKED 😊😊😊 I’m very impressed with @alibi_woolloomooloo. Plant based super star LA chef Mathew Kennedy has open his fifth vegan resto here in Sydney. I embrace all food but was slightly apprehensive sitting down to a full vegan meal. Maybe because I’m a blokey bloke and a lack of red meat may threaten my masculinity 😜 And here we have some TASTY AF FOOD👌 First up is the lasagne ✨kimchi dumplings✨ green polenta✨ shroom bao ✨ strawberry cheesecake✨banana split ✨ The dumpling are a revelation, the tang from the coriander foam and the lightness of the dumpling wrapper make these puppies sensational. The warm and scrumptious polenta hit the spot 👌Plus THE BEST vegan ice cream I’ve ever had is hrrr, awesome stuff 👌 Eating only plant based has me feeling very svelte..... mmm better watch out babe 😜 Thanks for the invite @_stephenhoward_ 🙏#vegan #lasagna #icecream #dumplings #kimchi #polenta #bao

Really love this place. The food is healthy and delicious, the atmosphere is cooland relax, and the hotel upstairs is unique and comfy too. Highly recommend it! The best vege place I've ever been to.
L. T.
We had beautiful high tea here and the staff were friendly and the food was impressively tasty.
M. S.
My partner and I really enjoyed the couple times we came here for high tea. The cakes we were served were immaculate and very nicely served. We also enjoyed the savoury items provided, which were all tasty and left you wanting more. I can’t remember exactly what we drank, but it was tasty and we ordered seconds. We enjoyed our experience so much both times that we stayed for cocktails afterwards and played pool. While we haven’t been since COVID started, when we were there it was quiet. The service was good by Sydney standards. I am looking forward to returning when I move back to Sydney.
M. R.
Was a Monday so ate at the bar. Food was really great but let down by the poor service with the waitress being spacey when ordering- and then the food arriving before the drinks (which they had forgotten to deliver). Sadly didn’t live up to expectations.
C. K.
Highly recommend for your next function - the staff are kind and attentive, and want nothing but the best experience for you. Excellent service, beautiful & stylish environment, delicious & unique dishes. It’s the full package!
C. C.
Vegan food not usually my thing but the menu was great, as were the staff. Recommend the zucchini lasagne. The 3 pumpkin gnocchi also fab.
V. M.
Deliciousss ! Alibi it’s an experience itself. Beautiful flavors, amazing place, the interior is woOw !!Thanks to our waiter the “frenchie” sorry I don’t remember your name ! He has been super helpful !
We’ll be back next time for the 8 courses tasting menu!
Thanks Alibi for that beautiful night ! ☺️
T. D.
Atmosphere was amazing! Multi-course vegan meal; so creative, and satisfying! I and my friends were wowed! Staff were very friendly. They even wrote a cute message of congratulations with my dessert, as were were there for a bachelorette dinner!
N. V.
Our absolute favourite restaurant in Sydney! Have had the seasonal tasting menu 3 times and the bar menu once and every single time they have absolutely nailed it. If you ever want sustainable, healthy, fine food without compromising on quality or style, go here!
L. M.
Incredible service and food to match. Waiters were friendly and quick. Always made sure we enjoyed our food and had water. They even made a change to a set menu for us with no problem. Food came quickly and was amazing. Highly recommend
D. M.
Some of the best vegan food around! You can just sit in the bar area if you haven’t made a dining reservation and have great food how great is that!
M. P.
This restaurant is housed inside the Woollomollo wharehouse. Parking can be difficult so make time if you have bookings during peak period. The layout of the restaurant is very chilled and relaxed. The food is vegan and very delicious. I would recommend this restaurant so please put it on your list.
Y. X.
Super cool ambiance to start with. The food is very creative and tasty. Love the cocktails!! Would highly recommend it!
C. G.
Lovely intimate venue, felt very welcome and enjoyed every aspect of the evening. As a non vegan the tasting menu of 8 courses intrigued me and is excellent. This was a wedding anniversary dinner and vegan hubby loved it. Each course is unique and well thought out with beautiful flavours. Highly recommend.
S. R. H.
Yummy food! All vegan I'm in heaven. And the most beautifully decorated hotel and Resto
S. C.
The best night out!! Perfect venue to share with a special someone and be amazed by their fantastic cocktails whilst enjoying their flavoursome menu. Tip - entry is through the hotel main entrance.
B. K.
Delicious 100% vegan tasting menu. All dishes were great, some obviously better than others. The mushroom scallops were the highlight for the table. Very enjoyable night out in a smart venue with very attentive staff.
M. M.
Wow wow wow! My expectations of this place were already high and they were surpassed. First time here. I did the 8-course menu with non-alcoholic drinks pairing. The food was some of the best vegan fare I’ve ever had (in my 13 years of being a vegan.). The service was friendly and atmosphere hip and upbeat. Portions were HUGE, enough to take home for another meal. Can’t wait to come back!
m.
The atmosphere and design of the space is wounderful!!
Been looking for good vegitalian restraunt in Sydney, and it's hard to give them 5stars, cuz sometimes price are too much and cant enjoy the food.
ALIBI is percect!!
Z. R.
Must go to! Great staff, fantastic menu, delicious food. Amazing!
L. L.
I'm not a vegan or plant based person but this place is awesome. The set menu is great but the cocktails and gin list were even better! Didn't miss meat once, which is quite a statement for our table of mostly carnivores. Try the yuzu based #hashtag cocktail (see photo)
A. Z.
I don't even know where to start. This place is great. Amazing plant based food! Do the set menu and you will be stuffed!
G. L.
Relaxing interior, but no IC, very slow service, but friednly, beautiful food presentation, but basic seasoning and flavor, for the price o was expecting more innovative results.
V. G.
So I had concerns based on some of the other reviews and walked in expecting awesome food but an ordinary service. Our table was ready a bit later than planned. However aside from that, everything else was done brilliantly.
The food is exceptional. I’m a meat-eater. My partner is vegetarian (eats eggs and milk but not fish). The plant-based tasting menu that Alibi offers is some of the best food I’ve ever had. The flavours are punchy but also compliment each other with every course. And I highly recommend the wine pairing.
Our server, Anthony, was polite, attentive, but most importantly, never felt like he was “in your face”. Looking forward to coming back and recommend you check it out.
Only thing I’d suggest is, ladies, bring a shawl or jacket, it’s a tad chilly!!
C. M.
I booked a table at Alibi for my friend's bachelorette trip because she's a vegetarian who doesn't get to experience fine dining cuisine very often, and I wanted to spoil her. Unfortunately, due to extenuating circumstances, I couldn't go on the trip but the staff at Alibi were very understanding and switched the reservation name for me (something I found not every venue would do). Since during this pandemic they are doing a limited menu they even suggested moving the reservation to the bar portion of the business so my friends could have more choice in their dinner, but the other bridesmaids decided the tasting menu would be fine.
And hooley dooley, it was beyond fine! The menu is all vegan at the moment but it did not scrimp on taste or presentation. A word to anyone who has never tried a tasting menu because the portions look small; trust me, the chef has portioned the eight courses to fill you up nicely.
My friends video called me while they ate so I could be there with them, even from home. The staff I could hear serving my friends were very friendly and professional, the food and drinks looked amazing, and despite the large space in which the restaurant sits my friends said it was a very pleasant temperature. The Bride To Be loves to cook and the experience really inspired her to try making more vegan food at home. The staff even wrote Congratulations in chocolate on the BtB's desert plate, something I noticed they did in pictures but didn't specifically ask for, so that was a lovely surprise for everyone.
Hopefully next time I book a table at Alibi I'll be able to be there too, because you'd better believe I want to go even more now!
M. G.
Very funky, extraordinary, out of the box and concept bar. Wide range of cocktails offered, cool design. Superb place to experience if you want to unwind.

We had the most amazing High Tea here. The service was outstanding (thanks Kate!), the food out of this world delicious and the venue simply amazing. I can‘t wait to be back 😍
T. B.
I love your food but just a suggestion. If someone orders coffee or milk on the side, the server should clarify what type of milk they want. My friend and I didn’t specify and we were served dairy milk. We naturally assumed we would be served non dairy milk since it’s a plant based restaurant and we were having the plant based high tea...it’s rather silly. It did dampen the experience unfortunately.
E. L.
My partner and I were here for our 2-year anniversary and had their 75$ Vegan tasting menu. Everything was really tasty especially the Malaysian curry. However, even though we ordered the tasting menu for 2 pax, we only got 3 of the king oyster mushroom scallops, which was a bit of a let down because it was definitely one of the better dishes on the menu.
I. B.
I was at Alibi for both a supreme high tea (picture attached) and dinner. Irrespective of whether you eat a plant-based diet or not, this place is a gem.
S. S.
This place is amazing! Great to have a nice and delicious dinner! Highly recommended!
C. M.
Beautifully presented vegan food, amazing ambience, staff were so helpful and polite.
J. K.
Had an amazing evening! The DJ was such a lovely man and gave such a great level of ambiance to the restaurant and bar. I have never stayed in a hotel like this before. And wow was it a great night! Also, thank you to the bar team! Delicious drinks'
R. B.
Such a wonderful spot for exciting and inventive plant based food! Would highly recommend visiting vegan or not - you'll love the food, atmosphere and friendly staff
S. H.
My wife and I visited Alibi this evening for dinner, what an absolute treat. The menu is amazing, all of the courses are beautifully complemented by amazing wines. The setting and vibe of the whole place is magical. We were more than taken care of by their extremely hospitable and also knowledgeable staff... this restaurant lacks nothing, we would highly recommend!!
For anyone who is concerned about going out with the current pandemic, this place is for you. All precautions are taken, staff are in face masks, social distancing is implemented and there is a clear Covid plan in place throughout.
We will be returning for the spring menu as soon as we can 😊
L. L.
Cool artsy urban atmosphere. Friendly competent staff. Diverse delicious adventurous vegan tasting menu. We could have eaten the broccoli steak five times over - scrumptious. A very enjoyable date night dining experience.
P. P.
Amazing experience, thanks Rebecca, Philip n all waiting staff. Food was great (some familiar indian flavours but with twist), ambience was lively, upbeat music. It was our anniversary so they gave us a special couples booth, we had a great time, thanks again :)
C. B.
Not too bad. But very quiet with no real atmosphere. Bit over priced
J. M.
since COVID we decided to try places that we would not normally dine. what a find! this place is amazing! We visited on a Saturday night had a drink in the cocktail bar and managed to get a seat next to the fire pit, cocktails were delicious and fun. we managed to get a table in the resturaunt and had the 8 course tasting menu. Lots of great food, interesting flavours - even if your not vegan you will love it. Thank you so much to the staff for making our night so special.
S. S.
Alibi restaurant is very responsive and friendly to the phone calls, their menu is Vegan which is fantastic and the food is amazing. I was so impressed with the flavours they have created out of vegan products. Our food was packaged very neatly with a cute little note and a wrapped toilet paper as a gift for quarantine times which I absolutely loved. They’re very considerate and this is how a vegan restaurant should be like. I definitely recommend Alibi and I would love to come back.

My experience with Alibi's Bar and Kitchen:
Alibi’s Bar and Kitchen was my first vegan fine dining experience in Sydney. When people say Australian cuisine they talk about steaks and majority of the restaurant menus are predominantly for meat eaters. Or so I thought, until I was a part of vegan culinary experience in Alibi’s. It introduced me to the concept of Modern Australian Cuisine.
Vibe and Ambience:
Alibi's Bar and Kitchen is situated in a unique location at Woolloomooloos right by the water. As night dawns this place opens up to take you on a journey. The ambience was refreshing with light music, fairy lights and garden decor.
Service:
With each dish presented to us, the Alibi's staff have us a brief introduction and explanation of the dishes. The service was excellent.
The food journey:
The menu detailed the 7 course meal ( not heavy on quantity ) containing original dishes prepared and curated by the chef. It was a conglomeration of texture, colors, taste & techniques. It was evident from the presentation that each dish was prepared with outmost care.
The verdict:
Being a vegetarian I was impressed by the dishes presented which was unlike anything I had eaten before.
Stars:
I’m giving 5 on 5 stars.
A. D.
Food was ok but overpriced. Venue was awkwardly laid out and the staff... lacklustre.
I. T.
Set inside the gorgeous and chic Ovolo Hotel, Alibi will wow you. From the stunning ambience, to the awesome, friendly and very knowledgeable staff through to the dishes and cocktails - I’ve loved every single dish and beverage I’ve had at Alibi. The seasonal ingredients used are just divine and the menu changes regularly so there’s always something new and exciting to try. The Kim Chi dumplings are a must, they’re bursting with flavour and just delish! I’d also recommend the tasting menus as they’re great value for the amount of amazing quality food you get and you get to sample a decent amount of what’s on offer. Alibi is easily my favourite place to eat in Sydney.
S. C.
We had the set menu with matching wines. We had a really great and enthusiastic waiter. But we left still quite hungry even after 6-7 courses. Food was tasty but not incredible so I don't think it is good value. The space was also quite strange and on the night we went it felt quite empty and echoey. However I love seeing more vegan/plant-based restaurants so thumbs up for that!
j. w.
An impressive 8 course tasting menu (all vegetarian), with rather good wine pairings (exception: the single red was underwhelming, the dessert wines just ok, and the desserts themselves probably the least interesting part of the meal). Portions were more than enough.
Service was friendly, quick, and seemed to involve everybody rather than a dedicated person - but that did mean an occasional lack of continuity (we were brought menus and asked if we wanted to order dessert, which was already included in the tasting menu).
The venue is ... interesting. It combines a bar (with music too loud for conversation) and the restaurant, in a cavernous space that has been nicely decorated. Fortunately, the restaurant itself is fairly quiet.
We reserved for 6:30, and we're told we had to be out by 8:15 - which turned it to be roughly 2/3 of the way through the meal. They did let us stay until the end, but weren't shy about asking us to move on once we were done. That felt slightly odd for a place with these aspirations.
But overall, this was a very nice meal.
J.
Staff here are always friendly. The breakfast buffet is awesome
W. B.
Definitely a change to your taste buds...
Eight course meal that ends with a refreshing carrot and guava sorbet.
I will definitely attempt to recreate one of the mains... Charred okra caponata with sesame toile, tamarilo chutney, roast almonds and spiced rum currents.
Flavors that will leave your taste buds wanting more.
5 star service.
D. C.
One of the best restaurants I've ever been to, with the most perfect vegan dishes. Incredible staff and lovely hospitality. Thank you so much!
S.
Lovely decor and atmosphere. Nice spot for drinks (very expensive cocktails) and a game of pool. Food was okay - good for a snack rather than your main meal.
B. S.
Been to a lot of fantastic restaurants in my time, the menu here is worthy of a Michelin star, or a hat. Some of the best food (Vegan or not) I've ever eaten.
D. L.
We had the high tea here and the food is delicious! All vegan, bottomless tea/coffee which also includes hot chocolates ;) a lovely space with a very chilled vibe
I. M.
Vegan food at a top level! What a great restaurant situated in a hotel!
The design of the place is brilliant and you just don't notice that you are in a hotel lobby. Love all the extra design features which make you want to keep looking around to find all of the cool little things. Great eye for detail!
We had the 9 course degustation and each and every meal was delicious. A lot of the dishes are brought out by one of the chefs and they explain to you what the dish is and they are all really nice.
9 courses for $65 pp is not expensive at all and we both left absolutely stuffed. Would highly recommend to anyone, not just vegans!
V. I.
So good, even though I am not vegetarian. I enjoyed every bite of the meal
J. L.
What a surprise!
I went to this beautiful restaurant on Saturday night: I have been reading a lot about this place so I was too curios to check it out.. what a surprise!
From the first moment we sat down everything was just spot on. Cocktails are delicious and beautiful to see as well. Food has so much flavour and taste.
Saturday is a busy day and as I work in hospitality too I can understand it can take a little bit more to get served or to receive drinks and food.
I had an overall amazing experience! Can't wait to go back and try more from the menu!
J. B.
The service was so friendly and the ambience is spectacularly unique and beautiful. I particularly enjoyed the kiwi and jalepeno mocktail, kimchi dumplings and kimchi fried rice...and my favourite was the scrumptious bread with vegan butter. I know, who gets that excited by bread right? But this was seriously delicious! We had a nice laugh with Clem, the very friendly French waiter with the best smile. I highly recommend this place for great vegan food and impeccable ambience.
D. B.
An exceptional plant-based menu. We did the degustation menu as a group and every dish was stunning. Wonderful flavours and textures with fresh ingredients. Lovely service too!

Vegan Food At Its Best
We dined at Alibi for the first time on Friday night and although I'm not vegan (my wife is) I must confess that I thoroughly enjoyed both the meal and the experience. We ordered the tasting menu which included NINE (yes 9) courses inclusive of 2 desserts. The service was great as was the semi alfresco setting. Their range of cocktails is also out of this world. We'll be back.
J. P.
The food we had was unlike any I've ever had before. It was just exquisite! Everything tasted fresh, was filling, and the flavours were perfect. I was surprised each time a new dish came out, my expectations were getting blown out of the water, even with the cocktails! Really, this is art for the mouth. The service was also excellent, we never had to wait long for anything. My partner and I had a wonderful dinner here. Thank you Alibi!
We shared everything and started with the zucchini flowers (wow!) and kimchi dumplings (also wow!) and for mains we had the zucchini lasagna (what the hell wow!) and the gnocci (wowsers!). And as a treat, we had the chocolate cherry fondue (yum!). We were certainly full afterwards but still felt fresh, which is no small feat, I believe.
11 out of 10!
A. N.
Wow! We had an amazing night. The Vegan food that is served here is fantastic. The staff were amazing. The atmosphere and design of the space is also great. Well done team.. a winning combination! Great work Matthew Kenney & your exceptional team...
R. M.
We were here twice - first at the bar and then at the restaurant. Ambiance is super stylish, set inside Ovolo, a boutique hotel in a converted warehouse. Bar food has more fake meats and omnivore / “anti-vegan” friendly options and restaurant is more classic plant based food.
Our favorites at the bar were the Peking D**ck pancakes and the BBQ bao buns, both using jackfruit as the “meat”. Delicious and pretty close to the real thing.
At the restaurant, we loved the eggplant dishes (smoked babaganoush and stuffed eggplant). Kimchi dumplings and Squash blossoms were very good. I had high hopes for the Mushroom Wellington, but found it to be disappointing. For dessert, the chocolate + cherry fondant was delicious (not as fondant as I was expecting, but still rich and with a deep chocolate flavor, not overly sweet).
Service was attentive and agile. Note that if you are not doing the tasting menu, all entrees will come at once, all main dishes will come at once. I would have preferred to pace it better, maybe something you can ask when you order.
Strongly recommend for anyone plant based or plant curious.
Y. W.
Just fantastic. Atmosphere, styling, service and oh my god the food. I'm not even vegan and would eat here for the rest of my days. Get the tasting platter, get the paired wines.
Expect to be full and disappointed in anything else you ever eat. Amazing.
R. S.
Atmosphere artsy & bangin'. Live DJ on Saturdays. Staff friendly & kind. First time or not a vegan? I'd recommend the degustation. You will leave full - no worries there. Standouts were the desserts - best peach cobbler I've ever tasted.. put this beside traditional cream and butter peach cobbler the Alibi still wins hands down. The flavour in the key lime pie strong the texture is perfect it just melts on your tongue 😜. I left thinking I must come back for their high tea. Deserts are definitely Alibi's Forte.
Z. R.
Been a vegetarian/vegan for 20 odd years and never been to a bar with a full menu where I don’t have to worry about what I can & can’t eat! Food is amazingly delish! Love the vibe and whole aesthetics of the place! Def will be back (: xx
S. K.
Benefits from same kitchen as the renowned Alibi restaurant which is a treat. So the bar menu offers some interesting choices which I loved.
M. L.
Enjoyed my experience here! Delicious food, but I would say the entrees were significantly better tasting than the mains. For entree- cheese platter, kim chi dumplings, baba ganoush. Kim Chi dumplings are a MUST. For our mains, we ordered the lasagna, and the mushroom wellington. Unfortunately, was not aware of the lasagna being raw (delicious, but doesnt hit the spot the same way), and the mushroom wellington was very... earthy and dry... Needed much much more jus/gravy sauce.
The highlight of our night was the peach cobbler. Oh. My. That was delightful!! And the matched pairing of the dessert wine was perfect!
The drinks were OK, more pretty than tasty, and we had an odd waitress who would offer an extra dumpling, but still gave us only 3, and offered to give us a menu to keep so that we could continue ordering if we wished, and took both menus away. Still good, would probably come back and just have entrees and dessert!
D. W.
The food was outstanding. Service was excellent.
Highly recommended

Amazing experience with delicious food in the most romantic environment
M. C.
I've been there last Thursday together with my girlfriend and, despite the fact of not being vegetarian/vegan, we really loved this plant-based dinner experience regardless: as the description of each dish looked so interesting already , we did our best to try many of the different things that the restaurant has to offer (including their signature Zucchini Lasagna!) and everything was just incredibly flavored, balanced and delicious, but more important every dish was really unique and different from everything I've tried before, making the whole thing a really amazing dining experience.
Special mention also to all of the many signature cocktails available at the bar and the restaurant: their presentation is amazingly creative and they simply taste delicious, completely in line with the style of the restaurant.
The staff makes everything complete by creating a really relaxed, happy and friendly atmosphere: thanks guys, we'll be back.
P. B.
Food is okay, ran out of champagne and never seem to have the right wine in stock
D. P.
By some margin this was the best vegan high tea I've had in Sydney. Beautifully presented, innovative and delicious food. Served in a comfortable, funky, surrounding with unhurried friendly service. Excited to try the restaurant.
D. “.
Amazing service and amazing food, seriously my expectations were met and exceeded. Beautiful venue and styling.
J. G.
Beautiful plant-based menu, lovely staff and surprisingly cosy vibe inside the wharf
y. x.
Amazing vegan food and lovely environment for dating
V. W.
I had a fantastic eight course tasting dinner here with a non-vegan friend and they enjoyed the food as much as it did. Recommended. Hope to be back in Sydney soon to enjoy some more of the menu.
S. S.
Thank you Alibi for a lovely birthday dinner! Such a cute location and vibe, delicious cocktails and food, and really sweet service. Highly recommend the soba noodles and pizza, so melt-in-your-mouth tasty! While I was here with friends I can definitely see this being a gorgeous place for a date too. We will be back! Thanks again
K. E.
Had the 8 course menu with paired wines and it was outstanding! Everything was tasty and when I had questions (such as how the amazing vegan gravy is made...), the waiter promptly asked the chef and reported back. Pour les Francophones : les 2 serveurs français hyper pro étaient un plus ! Would return without hesitation and made me question my preconceived notions about vegan cuisine, in a good way... Bravo!
N. F.
Atmosphere and food was amazing, I really wanted to give this place 5 stars but the service involved a lot of waiting. We had to wait a while for our table even though we had a reservation and they seemed to forget about our last course so we were waiting for our dessert for 25 minutes
J. T.
Who knew vegan could be so tasty
J. W.
Excellent vibe and really impressive fit out. Cocktails were creative. Took 1 star off for service, I want to give some lead way in case Covid had an impact on number of staff etc but it was very very slow. I also took a star off because the bar manager had a blatant disregard for Covid regulations. She was wearing her mask on her chin and when she came to check on your table she kept touching us. Like her hand on our arm etc... I wouldn't want that regardless of Covid but even more so now. I was distracted by her the entire night because I noticed her touching others and she kept removing her mask. Very disappointed to see that our safety was not a priority.
M. D.
My husband and I just discovered this restaurant and absolutely adore it! The menu is simple and scrumptious. A lot of love and effort goes into every plate. I can say the same for their staff! On both occasions we were warmly welcomed by Toby, Bec and her lovely team! Definite must haves is the kimchi dumplings, avocado tika, baked potato & for dessert chocolate and orange tart & pavlova! HEAVEN! We're coming for more! 😋👏🏽
S. N.
Food and drinks are really great. Nothing to complain about.
S. R.
Such a beautiful, chic place for a girls night out or date night. Loved the kimchi dumplings! Cocktails/drinks were also fantastic. Really respect Ovolo for supporting an all vegan menu.
J. G.
Quite an experience. Set menu was a good size and range of flavours, and the matched wine was interesting.
L. F.
Good venue with a very modern and trendy decore and great staff. Great cocktails with the option to attend the Alibi restaurant.
K. O.
Thank you so much for the amazing dinner. One of my favourite vegan restaurants, we had Kimchi dumplings, smoked hummus, cheese tasting, Margherita pizza, zucchini lasagna and all 4 desserts. Food and service were excellent!
H. A.
Really quirky cocktails and amazing staff. Great place to visit for a pre-dinner drink
L. C.
The menu is fully plant based and offers a broad choice of options with gluten free and nut free labels.
We went a bit crazy and had the kimchi dumplings, the raclette, the king oyster mushroom steam buns, the spicy udon, the zucchini lasagna, the cheesecake and the coconut cream pie. Everything was very delicious except the dumplings that were to die for. We added a glass of Bordeaux and a custom-made mocktails (no mocktails on the menu but the barmen are happy to make one according to your taste).
We ended up being quite full and paying $80 per person which is a good price considering the great service, the amazing set up (in a former harbour wharf that has been refurbished but keeps its industrial identity)
Only downside is that the seating was quite uncomfortable with hard chairs that didn't really fit the table size I couldn't even cross my legs under the table and we were seated facing other guests which made personal conversatio a bit awkward.
M. M.
Sumptuous atmosphere. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
B. W.
We had high tea and everyone really enjoyed it. The savoury and sweet options were all great flavour experiences and the teas were really interesting too! Service was great and the portion size was perfect.
W. B.
Such a wonderful experience and delightful atmosphere. It's like stepping into a new world for a high tea get away. The staff were lovely and so accommodating. The high tea was amazing and the tea selection was something special.
r. v.
Favorite vegan restaurant in Sydney ♡ love it
C. P.
The best vegan high tea! The service, the ambience... everything is just wonderful. Cannot fault the place. My friend and I had the best time :) we stayed for 5 hours! A must place to visit. Il be back again and again.
C. P.
We had the gazpacho, the rainbow carrot pizza, the steam buns, the lasagna and for dessert pavlova, chocolate tart and coconut cream pie. We liked EVERYTHING specially the buns and the pavlova. The new menu its amaizing!
A. J.
Alibi works wonders with plant foods with interesting and beautifully presented dishes. Maître d gave us a warm welcome but ambiance ruined by rude waiter who on his first visit to table did not even acknowledge us at all and leaned across me to grab menus. His rudeness shocked the table and his disinterest in service continued throughout the evening. A smile and a few words would have been nice.
C. H.
The food and friendly service was amazing!
C. P.
Great venue, interesting cocktails and food BUT my experience wasn't as good.
I went there to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and asked by email two weeks earlier to organise a birthday plate or candle , something to celebrate him and has been confirmed by the receptionist ... nothing came out from the kitchen once we ordered desserts. I was so embarrassed but I didn't want to say anything in front of him so I let it be.
The receptionist also was ok, very chatty but NOT VEGAN at all and once she noticed that we were both italians she started to mention mortadella and the butchers up there, how good is the meat and cheap to buy tones.
Well, I didn't know what to do now I was feeling so uncomfortable and either me and my boyfriend where looking at each others asking ourselves what was going on.
I was supposed to be dining in a VEGAN restaurant so why the concept is not followed at all?
Is too contradictory and I am sorry to say but you should revaluate the staff that works for you... The restaurant is new and I know some things are still elaborating but hell no, I don't want to go back in a place where people loves murder and meat instead of appreciate animals and choosing a cruelty free life.
S. K.
My friends and I ordered the tasting option. At first, we were worried that it might not fill us up. After seven (or eight) courses, we realised that the portions were plenty big. We left happy and satisfied.
H. G. (.
Extremely good selection of drinks. Amazing Vegan restaurant attached to it.
K. A. W.
Beautiful restaurant, intimate and incredible food. Everything we ordered was a hit! Vegan or not, I’d take anyone here for a delicious meal!
C. C.
Food, cocktails, service, ambiance.. Everything was on point! Would highly recommend this place.
E. L.
very nice service, the source is really tasty😊
G. P.
Great place for a bite and a drink. They keep an extensive collection of gins and a DJ was in action on the Friday night when we were there.
T. P.
Fantastic food with lovely interior. The staff were great and their recommendations were on point. I definitely recommend sharing a number of dishes so you can try a bit of everything.
R. D.
Love this place. Been here twice now and really enjoyed both experiences. Great atmosphere and decor and great food and cocktails. Nice staff too!
V. A.
Not a vegan cuisine person and some items were a hit and some were an absolute miss
I would not recommend the summer green pizza (just tastes like grass on doe) highly recommend the capsicum pizza super tasty
Do not recommend the lasagna it is basically an under seasoned salad in the shape of a lasagna (if they included pasta sheets or grilled the zucchini sheets then the stuffing would have shone through
Would highly recommend the gnocchi the vegan burger from the bar menu tasted like an actual burger and the peach cobbler desert is to die for
Lastly the key lime pie i wasn't a big fan (more of a palette thing) friends liked it though
R. R.
The sweet potato gnocchi was ace!
L. P.
The vibe of this place was unreal, it was so nice and quite, yet had an amazing sound system with relaxing modern music. Couldn't be more happier with spending my birthday here last night. Everything here screams high quality, super nice staff and amazing food/drink.
Definitely going to return.
J. M.
Not your normal plant food person but!! Omg!! The flavours, atmosphere were amazing!! Can’t not wait to go back!! Great cocktails and service and the food was just amazing!!
H. D.
Very nice and unique concept, the food is amazing, didn't try much but whatever we had was very delicious and mouth watery... The food menu and beverage list has been crafted with lots of efforts and paying lot of attention to detail... The service is stupendous and fantastic... Clem was amazing on floor, very hospitable and concerned with our allergies... He new what he is doing and loved his job which can be seen when he is on floor... The lady manager was also very enthusiastic and humourous.... The hotel and the restaurant is designed very well... Must visit as it is very lively and fascinating... We will surely visit soon!!!
N. G.
Beautiful location, a good range of dishes with interesting flavours and great ambience. The bread and vegan butter was delicious.
J. I.
Been here multiple times now, everything about this place is amazing including the setting! You absolutely must try the cheeseburger spring rolls!

My partner brought me here for high tea for my birthday. The tea itself was amazing and the service was also outstanding. All in all the whole experience was 10/10.
M. C.
Best high tea I've ever had. Service was impeccable and the atmosphere and decor was really outstanding. I'm recommending this bar to all my friends.
S. A.
Incredible plant based food. Cauliflower and brussel sprouts were a standout as was the sweet potato slice. Well done to the team at Alibi..
L. B.
Phenomenal plant based menu, excellent drinks and service. It does come at a price but its well worth it!!!
M. M.
Reasonable evening. Nothing stand out. Food was pretty good and well priced but service needs to sharpen up significantly. Overall was happy, wouldn’t return but if anyone asked me my thoughts I’d say it’s a worthy spot to have a bite at. Better spots outside.
K. G.
Awesome food very nice people actually caring for customers stellar location. Always have a very good evening there. Thank you Bec, Anna and other staff for making my evening memorable yesterday.

If you are not a committed vegan this will leave you wanting. Vegan food is not cheap and even the wine list is expensive.

Food very good, it's a bit of a weird space though. Service seems overly formal for the setting.
S. F.
Amazing vegan food, great drink and venue. Highly recommended.
M. S.
Great atmosphere and great service.
High Tea was delicious and surprising filling.
S. M.
I find they always play music way too loud and the fans are turned on way too high directly overhead. It's like having a dinner in a nightclub. Very strange.
J. S.
Love this place. Everything about Alibi is class.
Food, staff, decor, atmosphere and location.
J. S.
Very open area but have a lot of gas heaters.
M. L.
Nice food, venue and friendly staff. But you will have to expect a bit of wait for the service.

Beautiful restaurant with special and cheap vegan deals

Totally unexpected inside... great vegan menu, and the meals are delicious.
However, if you're a non-drinker like me, the moctails are too few in variety.

I was very hesitant to visit Alibi due to the lack of people diversity on your Instagram page. All the beautiful people gives the image that you are expecting a certain type of patronage, and I’m sure you have more than just blonde haired, or longlegged, people frequenting the venue. I was pleasantly surprised. After venturing in from Melbourne on my own I thoroughly enjoyed my evening. The staff were so open and friendly and smiley. It did feel like home! Food choices were amazing and produce really fresh. The kim chi dumplings were so moreish, I could have eaten 10. I’ll be sure to return next time I’m in town.

I had the 8 course degustation menu with paired wines and am very pleased overall. Food really pushes the culinary boundaries of veganism. Certain dishes could do with slight improvements in seasoning, but in general it was a great food journey.
The beer menu is frankly shocking. Carlton Draught and a couple of other rubbish faux-craft lagers with one or two Yulli's.
The wine menu is fairly good, and Eric who was our sommelier for the night did an amazing job with both the pairings and his knowledge of each wine.
The decor isn't really my thing, as it slightly feels like sitting in an IKEA display room. Walking through the Ovolo foyer that is filled with tight collared meatheads standing around drinking lagers and discussing the benefits of trickle-down-economics with the front bar staff wasn't the greatest entrance possible as I was waiting to be seated.
