Where to start with this incredible experience! Antica Australis is a culinary gem. Kelly & Paolo have done an exceptional job at creating an intimate setting, paired with passionate stories that inspire each dish makes this a true dining experience. All the food is procured locally and the dishes are exceptional. The 'Locanda' style takes the stress / FOMO out of fine dining - it is a set menu and each course comes out simultaneously for all diners. Highly recommended!

Unique experience. Italian meals prepared using best local produce. Informative talks between courses explaining history of courses. Based on the lacondas of Italy. Well worth a try.

Great atmosphere, with the most engaging hosts!!!
The whole night was a journey, from the amazing 4 courses through to the stories told along the way, this is such a unique experience nestled away in this charming little town.
Thanks for your hospitality Paolo and Kelly.

What is this!? We were treated to a fantastic bush tucker inspired menu in the lovely setting of Carcoar. Sharing some (awesomely BYO) wine and conversation with our hosts was a joy - amazing to see their vision realised and, indeed, flourishing. We’re already planning our next visit - perhaps we’ll need another bottle... or two!

A fabulous experience for those who love to eat authentic Italian food like an Italian! Paolo’s delicious food champions local produce and Kelly’s stories made me feel like I was travelling parts of Italy I’ve yet to visit (and now desperately want to go to). Coupled with some local wine we brought along, it was a perfect long lunch. This experience is so unique and is not to be missed.

I went to this restaurant as part of the winter fire festival. It was a fantastic event that fused Italian and local indigenous cuisine. Everything was prepared with care and love and the experience and flavour were second-to-none. The experience was as good as fine dining in Sydney and I will definitely be back when I am next in the area. Detail and love was put into the serving of the food, the atmosphere of the restaurant, the wine and the hosting was fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed this event and would strongly recommend that anyone visiting orange make the trip out to carcor to visit this restaurant

What a little gem this is and in the most delightful, frozen in time town. I felt as if I were in the kitchen of a little village in southern Italy. The hosts are an Australian woman and her Italian chef partner and they treated us as their guests as if we were in their home with the Australian woman explaining the history of the dishes we ate. You don’t get a menu. Oh no, you’re a guest in their house and they cook for you as if you are their guest. Well, the food was simply fantastic. Treated we were and in the cutest small town atmosphere. Definitely a must for Australians in the area and for overseas visitors.

Celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary at Antica and so very glad we did! Such a beautiful and fascinanting history to the family & the food behind this gem of an eatery. The Cacio e Pepe was the standout, vastly better than same dish we ate in Rome! Bravo Kelly & Paolo- you've won our hearts & our tastebuds. 💕

Antica Australis, Italian Restaurant in Carcoar, NSW ticked all the boxes for me...intimate, nourishing, traditional, fresh, seasonal, slow-cooked, locally sourced and overflowing with love and integrity. I recommend visiting Antica with friends and staying over to enjoy the charm of Carcoar village. Thank you Paolo and Kelly, I loved your set menu. It was like going to your place for a dinner party. After Kelly explained Paola's background and passion I trusted him implicitly. I sat back, resting in excited anticipation for his creativity to transfer to my taste buds! Kelly’s funny storytelling was cleverly weaved throughout the 4 courses which further connected me to Paolo, the ingredients, their ancestors and their vision for Antica. The result was a full body, mind and soul experience. The perfect night out!

We had a truly wonderful 80th birthday lunch. Food, ambience, Kelly's entertaining info on the food and the coffee was to die for.
Thank you both so much.

We feel lucky to have experienced such a special lunch on our weekend adventures. Such care taken to explain each dish and all made so beautifully. Thx to the wonderful host and chef 🙏🏻 Can’t get to Italy right now this is a great alternative 🇮🇹

A wonderful small village restaurant experience - you'd expect this quality in the city.
However with Kelly as host talking through the history of the locanda, and describing each course, it was a special personalised experience that you'll never find in the city. Thank you!
