The place has a pretty good ambience Cocktails weren't worth the tag, and presentation was honestly kinda pathetic for today's standards.. Shoe string Fries were amazing Tacos worth an Instagram post but to be honest did not make a tasteful impression But hey I guess everything would taste better than a tequila. So if you visit make sure to have a shot before you eat the food. It will definitely help you swallow it.

If you are going for Taco Tuesday in Sydney, then Barrio Cellar must be on the hit list. $3 tacos in assorted forms including the classics, fish, chicken, pork and beef. Dimly lit underground area, has a good vibe if you are there to impress. Service was okay, the waiter had forgotten my second order of drinks, though the food came out in a timely manner.

Nice funky atmosphere, some staff were friendly, one was a bit snooty. Food was good- the 1.00 smoked bbq buffalo wings were delicious. The potato bravas was a bit disappointing, they were roasted cubes of potato with a side of tomato sauce. The tuna nachos were really flavoursome.

Taco Tuesday was great! I loved the cochinita taco and my partner's favorite was the hongo one. My friends and I had the beverage of the week for only $10. Good ambience, just a bit too dark. Need to improve the service though, everyone seemed to be a bit slow and they really didn't care.

Great value for $3 tacos... We had the pulled pork, chicken and fish. My favourite was the pulled pork. Definitely threw on some hot sauce because I wanted the spice level increased a notch. Will most definitely revisit (on a Tuesday). If I didn't have to return to work, a jug of margarita on the side would have completed the experience 😊

Went for a date night with my boyfriend. Omg the food was amazing. The tacos here delicious... the cocktails where unreal!!! Best Mexican iv had in a long time... Barrio Cellar is amazing. The staff are super friendly and always on hand when you need them. The food is incredible - especially the prawn quesadilla! They have daily specials including $10 burger Mondays and Taco Tuesdays. I'm a weekly diner with no regrets.

I can't comment on the food but the drinks were pretty great. I was there for the happy hour (5-7) and the $10 margaritas were excellent value for money (jugs also on offer plus house cider and beer for $5). The service was a little slow but otherwise very amicable. I quite enjoyed the underground aesthetic/music they had going. Overall a pretty great bar.

Hit and miss. Last time I went I had a great waiter who recommended some really nice mezcal and was generally attentive. Tonight we could barely get service and when we did he had an attitude. The food is underwhelming. If you get tacos they wait til all are ready before bringing them out and then the insides are cold. I have had way better Mexican. On the plus side, the drinks are nice, it's close to work, you can book ahead and hear each other talk.

Barrio Cellar is certainly worth a try and has been on my radar for quite some time but get in quick and make sure you book because this place is going to get busier. I luckily made a booking for a light dinner and arrived a little early. I was escorted to the bar to order a drink whilst the table was prepared. The bartender was awesome and explained the options surrounding tequila and their Mezcal menu.

Love this place! Came here recently for a $3 taco tues night and as much as the place was fully booked, we still got fast service and tacos quickly. Add the very tasty sangria to the mix and this soon becomes my favourite Mexican place. Have also come here on normal nights and tried many of the dishes and haven't had a poor one. I would suggest booking as it does get busy and you often see people waiting for a table.

Great modern Mexican food in central Sydney. Barrio Cellar has great service, a great atmosphere, amazing food and the prices a spectacular if you go for the specials. Other times the prices are about average for the size and quality of food that you would get in this location. Well worth a lunch or dinner. It is often busy so call ahead to book, even when I have called 30min in advance they have always been very accommodating.

This is quite a nice little bar. The food is a Fusion of Mexican/American. Tacos, fried chicken and burgers. All the food that we had was really well prepared and served even though they were absolutely packed. They have an absolutely massive selection of Tequila. Their cocktails are also very nice. We were there at happy hour and 5 dollar beers can't be beat in the centre of Sydney CBD. After happy hour we moved to cocktails and some of the best margaritas I've had anywhere. Highly recommended.

The food was fairly priced and tasted wonderful but the service was very poor. It seems like the waiters weren't serving specific tables, but just would walk by not noticing you waving your hand up for the 9th time. By the time we finally got one they asked "2 minutes" and never came back until we waved for another 5 minutes later. If you're going to have table service, service people.

I always struggle to find places to eat/ drink in the city centre which actually have a good atmosphere and don't feel like they're... in the city. Barrio Cellar is right in the heart of Martin Place and is such great fun. Good vibes every night I've been there, an extensive range of drinks and really tasty Mexican food (including several excellent veggo options). Bonus is that they have different specials each night of the week.

Always been a favourite of mine to stop in on the way to Martin Place for a nightcap... often three or four as the atmosphere her rarely disappoints. Fun music, dancing and people in a nice enough fit out. Only tried the food once, was pretty good and will try again but wasn't blown away.

Kind of an excellent place. Be sure to visit on a weekday. The staff are friendly, food is fast and easy to share, tequila on tap, and some top shelf ones in bottles, top it off with nice chill music by DJ. On Friday/Sat you tend to get teenyboppers. Between their selfies with flashes and their screaming, it'll ruin even the best of venues. Not Barrio's fault.

Really awesome underground bar with some fantastic food on offer. I would highly recommend the burger with a double pattie as this is such an epic and decent burger. As for all the other food on the Menu the mexican dishes ae also fantastic and very tasty. The vibe of this joint is really funky for an underground tequila bar, does get very busy on Friday nights so make sure you get in early or be sure to make a booking!!

Quite hidden in Martin Place, this is one of my favourite places in Sydney. Whatever they cook is delicious and their drinks are awesome. Totally recommend their burgers (and spuds). Kudos to the chef who always comes up with a new invention on Mondays (aka Burger Lab). If you really like burgers, you definitely need to check this out. And you're gonna love the vibe.

I'm from Texas, so consider myself a fair judge on all things Tex-Mex cuisine. This is the only place I've found in Sydney that does a decent Margarita - not too strong and not too sweet. The Tacos are absolutely delicious, the right size and without all the fanfare some other places Down Under try to do. Can't go wrong with the Baja or Carnitas tacos and the margs are just good enough. The watermelon Margarita is okay, but I'm super biased and have high standards in this area, so always order the regular Margarita. Plus, it's always busy but you can always get a table!

This place is amazing on a Friday night - Mesoamerican decor in flourish, Latin music pumping, the dance floor bustling, and a wide selection of cervezas and exquisite cocktails served by talented staff. Upon returning around 11pm on a Saturday, however, it was sadly quite empty. I look forward to returning to the Barrio Cellar when it’s full swing. It’s a wonderful spot that should be a part of your next big night in town.

Barrio isn't bad by any stretch of the imagination, it's just okay. The happy hour margheritas were average (I don't ever expect happy hour cocktails to be good). I also didn't like their only tap beer, which was some horrid Australian/Mexican beer. Staff were friendly and accomodating even when we got a bit happy. Can't fault them there but be warned that table service can be hars to flag down during peak periods. Luckily the bar is normally pretty accessible. I'm just not a big fan of the 'every table is booked on a friday afternoon' thing that seems to be prevalent at most Martin Place bars. We managed to get the only non-reserved table, phew. Worth visiting if you're in the mood for basement drinks!

Work knows I don't join them for lunch unless burgers are involved. So they've taken to letting me decide the lunch locations because that way I can't pull out. The staff are friendly and quick on their feet. I ordered the fish burger last time and it was seriously good - I didn't really expect it. The buns were cold though, and if they'd been warmed up even slightly that would've been nicer. Someone ordered the Hamburguesa with bacon, but it didn't come with the bacon...so they brought over an extra cup of bacon, went back to check the order and realised they hadn't charged us for the bacon, and asked us to pay up. XD That was awkward because he didn't have the $2 cash...only $1.50. You could tell the waiter was hella embarrassed to ask for the money too.

Our office team recently decided to make Barrio cellar our go to for Friday drinks and we weren't disappointed. The delicious menu of Mexican favourites like tacos, nachos and loaded fries are perfect for sharing whilst the drinks (include the watermelon margaritas and the sangria) is clearly made with TLC.
