Ordered pasta for delivery and it's hella good. One of the best I have ever ordered and service is top notch. Add notes for parmigiana cheese and they follow the note to a T, every detail accounted for. Had to thank the chef by making an order and putting it in the notes and got back a very big surprise, the chef and wait stuff had doubled my order for me to enjoy their awsome pasta. Thank you chef and stuff, ì well defintly continue to order here and visit some time to eat inside the Cafe.

Overall a great experience. The service was outstanding despite them being understaffed, we felt well looked after. The pizzas were fantastic, roman style but in the wood fire oven so very satisfying and tasty. My only constructive feedback is that the decor needs a slight lift, which would make this place even more amazing, but overall fantastic!

We were quickly seated without a booking and the service was prompt and friendly. The gnocchi was top notch, but we should have ordered two pasta dishes as the pizza was very average, bordering on poor. Where was the tomato sauce? The topping was a sloppy mess covered in oil which was a bit strange. Would probably get takeaway pasta again, but will give their pizzas a miss.

I sat down for dinner over a weekend and their customer service was great. The waiter was super accommodating and friendly. The pizza was pretty average which was disappointing. The crust was crispy but the toppings and flavour were nothing special. Meat lovers had 3 average meats (it was missing the bacon) and it was bland in comparison to other pizza I've had locally.

Nice pizza service a bit slow . i was left to dry the table - which was wipped from the food. There is no common sense. How wpuld you like to have to eat on a wet table ? Small details on the service make the difference. It has a small outdoor area for smokers.

This place has the best ever seafood platter I have had. I have been raving to my friends, so I hope they are not disappointed. All freshly grilled with loads of flavour, nothing crumbed or from the freezer. If you have the garlic prawns as starter, keep the left over garlic oil to toss over the seafood platter. Yum. Must also try their 4 cheese pizza, to die for.

Delicious pasta meals. I had the tortellini which was satisfying, and my wife had gnocchi with prawns which she was very happy with. Environment is nice; taking full advantage of the mild evening weather most of the seating is outdoors, but pleasantly so. They do have outdoor heating available if it’s a bit chilly. While I didn’t partake in drinks they appeared to be well equipped. I would certainly come back soon.

The food was great, wait time was great and the service was great. The homemade pasta and pizza were wonderful I'd say they were perfect. The drinks came out quickly as you'd expect. The garlic bread came out right after and as soon as we'd finnished it our pasta and pizza came out. Perfect timing. The staff were friendly and kind. My wife and I stopped in here for dinner on our way home from the football last Saturday night and had a fantastic experience. The wood fired pizza was outstanding and came out in record time which was unexpected considering how busy they were. We sat in the al fresco area which despite the wet weather was a great place to be seated. The waiter who took care of us was exceptional as well (I didn’t catch his name but around 30yo with a shaved head). He was extremely friendly, efficient and you could see that he genuinely cared that everyone in the section was well looked after and enjoying themselves. There is absolutely nothing that I could fault about Cafe Gioia and have definitely found myself a new go to place for pizza.

Always good food so not understanding what's happened to the reviewers who had a less than satisfactory experience. I've always found them to have the freshest pizza and great spaghetti or lasagne. I highly recommend it. We go every month as a family and have a great night out. This weekend we'll having ago up of 12 meet for dinner. Try it!

Best gnocchi in town, I've compared at 2 other better rated restaurants in leichardt and they don't compare. Pizza is always good too. Everything I've had here is simple but done well with good flavours.

The food is okay. Portions could be a bit small for price. Service is nice but one lady was angry all the time and shouting inside the bar and everyone could clearly hear her. She was even aggressive while placing the water on our table. I don’t think it was anything personal but her attitude was visible and I just felt it spread a lot of negative energy around.

Fantastic food! I have not had a proper carbonara yet here in Australia. It was cooked the way it was supposed to be cooked. No cream and pure egg was used. My wife has the Prawn and Asparagus ristto tasted amazing as well. A good balance of seafood and creamy rice. Their pizzas also look fantastic but didn't try. Thank you for a nice dining experience!

The Cafe Gioia is a great place to eat pizza and pasta with the atmosphere of being in Italy. It seems to be always open late in the evening if we are looking for a bite to eat on our way to or from the city or airport. The building I think is a converted motor garage with off street parking and an open seating plan. Great food, not expensive and friendly staff.

Our best pick for that quick bite after a movie at the Norton Palace. They have an extensive menu of pizza and pasta, the service is fast and their pizza base is delicious. It's a bit noisy though, it can be hard at times to hear conversations.

We were looking for a local cafe to have a late Sunday lunch. Gioia's average review of 3.0 was a little low but we thought it would be worth a try. It's better than a 3 on the strength of the warm and friendly staff and the food (I had the signature pizza, my wife a pasta dish). The furniture lets them down a bit and the indoor/outdoor thing doesn't work well when it's cold. But as a cafe for a Sunday afternoon it's perfectly nice.

The dough as they say is raised to certain hours, but not completely sure about it because the so called "cornicione " should have been better if so. Well I have just read the other reviews and I am flabbergasted how negative they seem to be. Myself and fellow workers order regularly from Cafe Gioia. While we tend to all stick to our favourite dishes, we have always found the food exceptional and all the staff courteous, warm and friendly. I personally find the pizzas to be delicious. I much prefer their style: simple, well cooked and tasty as opposed to other places that use too many toppings and are sloppy. Other favourite dishes within our group include Fettuccine Salmone, Scalloppine John and the Pollo Diavola. I understand not everyone is going to be ecstatic about every meal, but I wouldn't let the negative reviews on here turn you off giving these guys a go. They are good enough to have us back week after week.
