Comments of Casa Asturiana Restaurant
J. Q.
Service was quick and very friendly. For two people, 5-6 tapas was perfect.
Food pretty good / ok - the grilled mushrooms were good and the white sangria tasted just like juice which can be a positive thing for some.
M. 龍. Y.
This is a Spanish restaurant in the city. The food is not bad, we order the sea food paella, Spanish salad, chicken wings and mushrooms. Every thing was good, except for the mushrooms was abit tasteless. The bill was $100 plus aud, so it's not too expensive or cheap either. But everything has gone up, so eating out in Sydney is never cheap.

Has the Lobster Paella, meat balls and fried egg plants. Food was delicious and very authentic. Restaurant a bit small and noisy but passable. Would recommend for a nice Spanish feed!
M. O.
This was our second time here.I have to say the food is not the same as it used to be.
The seafood was tough and overall the dishes were not full of flavour.
The Sangria was very diluted with soft drinks.
B. R.
The food and place is nice!
Attentive staffs.
Ordered:
Tapas Board
Seafood Paella
Flan
Tempranillo Rosado (Rosé)
San Miguel (Beer)

Amazing food! Had a few tapas options today - grilled chorizo, grilled baby octopus & chicken croquettes.
Chef was producing some magic as the chorizo was perfect, juicy and lovely little bit of spice. The chicken croquettes were just crispy enough on the outside but the rest melted in your mouth.
Even the bread rolls were so nice I had to ask for an extra one. Would love go back to try a paella!
K. J.
First time to try Spanish food, very good.
C. D. T.
Very good restaurant and amazing service - which is rare in Australia. I actually felt in Europe with the decoration, the music and the good service. I haven't felt that in years in Sydney! Would definitely recommend. We got the chicken and seafood Paella which was delicious.

Place serves authentic spanish dishes and their sangrias are just so perfect for a harsh summer noon...however did not like it when the guy at reception refused my reservation and bit embarrassed in front of my work friends. He then agreed to give us a table after showing the confirmation email but went on claiming he doesn't see the reservation in his system and also clearly he wasn't welcoming us..however we liked our waitress who was just perfect in getting things to our table n was pretty enthusiastic...3 stars only for the food sangria and the waitress ...
O. A.
Superb Spanish Restaurant highly Recommended. Great friendly service, nice bar for pre drinks and Classic Spanish cuisine. You won’t be disappointed. Classic Sydney City European Culture.

I would say my meal here was 90% excellent. The food was truly delicious and authentically Spanish.(I highly recommend the cider-braised chorizo and the croquetas.) The atmosphere and decor were warm and welcoming. Unfortunately the service was haphazard at best. When our meal was over, the server cleared my companion's drink glass but not mine for some reason, even though both were empty. We had been ready and eager to order dessert and sherry, but both servers avoided our table for 15 minutes after the plates had been cleared. They walked past at least four times but we were unable to catch their attention to place our orders. For this reason we decided to get dessert elsewhere. This may have been a one-off but I'd advise caution if you are pressed for time.
B. K.
My husband and I really enjoyed the food.We ordered Paella and sausage and both were satisfied. I want to try other foods next time. And It was our first time drinking Spanish beer🍻 we loved it😍😍
A. S.
It's the last one standing. This area of the city used to be little spain but all the cafes and restaurants have gone, except this one. I used to come here when I worked in the city and I have to say it's as good as I remember. It has a lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and the best spanish food you'll find this side of Spain.

Place was ok, seafood paella with lobster was 80 dollars for two people. The portion size was decent but not massive, not much meat in the seafood that was provided however so we felt it was priced too high for what we received. It did also taste a bit bland too. The roast potatoes with paprika sauce for entree were excellent and the sangria was quite nice but we were a bit disappointed with our paella.
A. L.
What a big restaurant! Not visible from outside, but massive space inside. Friendly service and nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food does not live up to the atmosphere. The tapas were just average. Too bad, as my Mexican wife and I would have loved a decent change from the excellent Asian cuisine around our place (Meriton on Kent street).
J. K.
What a gem it is in Chinatown. Yes this is not an Asian restaurant. It is a wonderful Spanish restaurant.
Upon arrival, the wait staffs greeted us very quickly and got us sat down at a table and a bottle of chilled water arrived quickly with the menu (it was a warm humid day, that water is much needed!).
We had a look at the menu and settled with a few dishes - Gazpacho, Tabla Mixta (board with olive, Jamon, Manchego cheese and bread), Fabada Asturiana (bean stew with chorizo and blood sausage), Casadillas, lemon sorbet and a white sangria. We couldn't ask for better food. The gazpacho is properly chilled, and the tangyness of it is just right. Tabla Mixta looks small but you know what, it will fill you up without that overeating feel. The bean stew is lovely. Very homey and just comforting. Dessert are spot on. That jug of white sangria is so nice. Oh I can drink that whole thing myself.
Overall, highly recommend to give this place a try and yes think this will be my go-to every time I come to Sydney.
A. T.
Pleasant lunch experience. Lots of seating available . Food was tasty and wait staff were polite. Ordered the seafood paella for two person. Generous portion sizes and comfortable ambience similar to a Spanish tavern.
m. L.
2 of us ordered Seafood & lobster paella and grilled sardines, taste are good and portion is more than enough. Red sangria are adorable to get start the meal. Staffs are beautiful and nice.
K. T.
Great Spanish Tapas Venue with awesome small plates, as well as large ones.
Lamb dish is marinated for the amount of time to produce a fall-off-the-bone texture and potatoes roasted in resulting fats and oils to make them golden and succulent.
Seafood dishes taste delicious and not a trace of rubbery Calamari that plagues some lesser establishments.
The Grilled Octopus Tapas plate is yet another to behold. Hints of olive tapenade in the flavoring, make it another delightful Tapas example.
If you’re in the mode for Paella, you may have to wait a little, as it’s prepared fresh. Making it just exquisite.
While you wait, why not wash everything down with a lovely pitcher of Sangria!

16-Nov-2019, Saturday ~6pm. Very excellent service, the waitress was very friendly. Just a little bit expensive but the food was tasty and sufficient. In the attached photo is the Pollo de la Casa dish, 25$. I definitely recommend this place. Try the Jamon!
C. F.
This place has the best Spanish food ever but the waiters need to smile more
N. S.
Outstanding tapas, paella & sangria! This is a perfect restaurant offering authentic Spanish food experience.
Everything was delicious and we had the lot. We finished the meal with 2 liter of red & white sangria and lastly, carajillo.
The food reminds me of the times when I was in the Spain 6 years ago. We will definitely visit again.
J. A. U.
This was my first time at this spanish "tasca style" and I must say that I was delighted with the food and spanish atmosphere. In this occasion I ate a delicious Lamb with potatoes and a spanish tortilla filled with cheese and serrano ham. Very friendly staff and reasonable prices. It just a few steps from George Street and World Square in the City. I recommend it 100%
A. H.
Very warmly invited into the restaurant, and inside was warm and cosy. Waiters seemed very keen on getting us to order quickly. We very much enjoyed our meal and had a pleasant time.
S. N.
Great paella - 15 minutes to prepare. It had lots of seafood and chicken. Rice was tender and flavoursome. Not very busy at lunchtime on Monday. Staff are nice. Very generous portions - 2 person paella is enough for four people. Limited outdoor seating and lots of indoor seating with air conditioning.
E.
Really good quality of food.
We had a lobster paella the best I've ever had!
Just fantastic, full of flavor and quantity. With a good and tasty spanish beer. I will come back more times
G. Y.
Enjoyed a relaxing evening in this beautiful little restaurant. The food is good and the portions are moderate.
A. P.
More of 4.5..gr8 ambiance amazing service and one of the best paella I have ever eaten. So highly recommended. Could be one of the best Spanish restro around...
A. W.
One of if not the best Spanish place in Sydney. Came here with Spanish family and they all loved it, the food is fresh and quick, and there’s a great selection of authentic tapas and drinks to choose from.
R.
Best Spanish Tapas in the Quarter.
Friendly staff, all your favourite dishes.
Make sure you order Sangria.
P. S.
The staff were very attentive, professional and helpful. The food was delicious!
V. V.
Great food and wine. Run by a husband and wife team. We loved it.
E. K.
Good quality Spanish food, big portion and good value. Their tapas and garlic prawn is a must try.
S. N.
Food with passion ... garlic prawns never tasted so good .. pleasant & friendly staff
L. C.
We had a vegetarian paella, and it was fantastic. Best sangria place too!
G. C.
Great little Spanish restaurant, authentic food, attentive service and a nice atmosphere
M. B.
Rustic looking & the sole survivor of what used to be the vibrant Latin Quarter - now a further sad extension of Chinatown & the myriad of neon lit, salty & greasy, or sickly sweet slop shops. Too bad the past wasn't protected from progress. How monotonous the Sydney food scene has become.
I had the fabada, a soup traditional to Asturias of beans & chorizos. It was OK, but could have been better, not as good as the one I ate in Gijon. Better to have the paella which looked superb. Surprised that you have to ask for bread.
At least the staff are all Spanish speaking. People with personality, passion & purpose. I hope they are around for longer ... I'll return, soon I hope.
K.
OH MY GOD this place is the cutest place I've ever been to. The food is fantastic, if you're looking for a steak I would recommend here coz the cut is mighty thick and it's marinated in a way that you don't need sauce.
And they have this almighty strong Brandy that I can handle easily (coz I'm a tank) but mum was almost gagging coz it's so strong.
The staff were fantastic. The price is manageable.
L.
Food was ok but not as great as other places I've tried. Staff were nice.
A. F.
Absolutely loved everything.....especially the Paella. Really authentically spanish, super friendly staff and everything we had was delicious. The chorizo and calamari where next level. Great value, highly recommend
S. C.
My second favourite Spanish restaurant in Sydney!
H. F.
Ordered a chicken and vegetable paella for takeaway. The taste was amazing! reminded me of the time when I went to Spain with my sisters. The portion size was massive, large enough to feed three people. The service was efficient and the waitress was really polite and friendly. Keep up the good work guys!
V. S.
Went several times. Over all, good but bit high price than value. Not very busy for the week days, and they prepared to close from 9pm yesterday.
C. A.
Great tapas choices. Excellent wine. Our waitress was friendly but unobtrusive.
S. G.
Very friendly host and nice food.
P. K.
The service is spot on along with the standard of the food. The tapas was just delicious with a variety including Chorizo Sausage, Calamari, Potato and Garlic Mushrooms. For main I had a shoulder of lamb with Greek salad. The meat was falling right off the bone. Just amazing.
r. m.
I had a fantastic experience at Casa Asturiana. The vibe is great, the service is good and the food fabulous.
A. S.
Best Spanish Restaurant, the food is so delicious, nice staff, food service... we love go eat there....⁰
곽.
Wonderful place to have dinner with friends! Warm service and nice staff
J. P.
Amazing food - one of the best dining experiences I have had! The service is outstanding, the decor creates a nice atmosphere and the food is absolutely delicious. The Spanish house wine is terrific. Muchas gracias para tu servicia y tus buenas vibras con la comida muy deliciosa!
P.
Sweet old Spanish place. Nothing fancy or great to mention. We had drink and tapas and it was nice.
T.
Awesome service and awesome food. Place was very clean and welcoming.
S. N. K.
Food is great! Staffs are Kings and Queens!
K.
4 stars although I give this review with a heavy heart, I’ve been here several times and have always had a 5 star experience. Great Paella and sides... however we came here on the 28th of December which was a Saturday and could not believe how rude the waiter was, he was a male with tattoos and may have been the manager. Chatting to my friend we discussed that his rudeness almost killed the experience, although we didn’t let it and probably should have said something. Definitely needs to be replaced, or perhaps he was having a stinker of a day.
J. K.
Omg!! It's like going home to moms place for dinner. Family environment, beautiful wait staff that cater to every need. I love this place. Incredible food, reasonable price.
J. Z.
So nice, i will come back soon
L. D.
We stopped in for a few drinks and a cheese plate and we're so glad we did. Beautiful atmosphere and lovely staff. Highly recommended!
K. M.
Tapas for 2! For only $50 it's a pretty good deal
H. F.
Ordered a chicken and vegetable paella for takeaway. Food delicious. Great value. Comfortable, friendly venue

Rustic looking & the sole survivor of what used to be the vibrant Latin Quarter - now a further sad extension of Chinatown & the myriad of neon lit, salty & greasy, or sickly sweet slop shops. Too bad the past wasn't protected from …
C. C.
Recommend the paella, roast potatoes and deep fried calamari
P. H.
I have gone here several times and it is consistently good eating. Great place to socialize with your friends.

First of all my apologies to the owners of this restaurant for leaving this review so long to submit. Both I and my partner where drinking at a hotel in Haymarket when we noticed staff of the restaurant putting out the street furniture, on investigation we found that it was a Spanish restaurant, so in we went, wow what a gem of a restaurant, the staff where attentive and made us feel so at home and this goes for the owners as well. My partner ordered the Gazpacho (cold tomato soup) to start which he said was just amazing, I ordered the Chorizo, fantastic and incredibly tasty.
M. F.
Great service and great value for money.
C. I.
Good price, nice service and quality food😁
N. Y.
Food was really tasty, ambience was good. Cozy and intimate. Barely can hear the street noise. $55 for all that’s in the pic. Enough for two to be reasonably full. Only thing I would mention was the waitress took the meatball bowl without asking us if we were finished. And we actually wanted to dip our bread in. Didn’t say excuse me either when she took it away. it happened so fast, we didn’t even have time to react. I’m sure She didn’t mean to intrude, but that’s the only thing I would fault.
T. R.
What a fantastic restaurant! You can really taste the quality and authenticity of the Spanish cuisine. You have got to try the seafood paella it was soooooooooo good. The service is awesome and not pushy. I will definitely be back again on my next visit to Sydney.
S. S.
What a hidden treasure this place is. I have been here so many times and it never fails to deliver delicious, Spanish tradition. The food is mouth watering, the staff friendly and well priced for the quality of the service and food. The red wine, garlic muscles are to die for.
K. M.
Tapas for 2! For only $50 it's a pretty good deal
T. R.
We are from Europe and were missing Spanish food when we luckily found this restaurant.
The food is excellent but be advised the portions are VERY generous.
Paella was incredibly good
白.
It feels home. The foods are hearty. The 🥘 paella is a must-try here. I've never encountered a second Spanish restaurant that handles rice this sophisticated. Also nice that the waitress are most helpful correcting my Spanish:)
J. C.
Great place. Good taste. But quite noise as the place is small.
G. C.
Old. I only ordered meatballs. The flavour and texture was like real Spanish. Maybe a bit too much garlic for my taste but it is a personal opinion. The size of the portion was good. The quality and price was well balanced.
However the place itself looks like it didn't change since 20 years ago. It is too old and looks like nobody cares about it. If I weren't a bit homesick i wouldn't probably go there, judging by the appearance and the man in the door.
M. S.
simple dinner, good taste. l love it
K. C.
A great experience. I felt like I was in Spain. Devine
M. H.
A nice little find!! Food was delicious and service was great
V.
Love the sangria! The glass is bigger than most of the Spanish restaurant and it tastes really good! Paella in the other hand is okay but the tapas are good tho
W. Z.
Lovely atmosphere and staff! The calamari is overcooked, but chorizo is nice. Paella is yummy, but the bottom part is bit juicy. I thought the bottom of paella should be crispy which is best part of paella.
M. S.
Always reliable for good paella. Would recommend the Seafood Paella over the lobster option as you will get more flavour and crab meat from the seafood option because the lobster is actually very small. Friendly staff and lovely Sangria also.
P. H.
I have gone here several times and it is consistently good eating. Great place to socialize with your friends.
M. S.
Nice music, environment, friendly staff and food.
W. W.
Tapas were very nice indeed. Mains were good - I especially like mine, the salmon fillet served with veges and potatoes. I head the paela was ok - but not great. The dessert (flan) was slightly wanting - ok could have beet better - my wife makes better! Staff super attentive and atmosphere was great. We had a flamenco dancer who livened up the ambience some.
E. P.
My wife and I had dinner on Saturday night and the food and service were exceptional. Highly recommend a night out at Casa Asturiana. The baby octopus was delicious as was my Lamb. Thanks for the great evening.
T. W.
Great little find right near Town Hall!!! I am not sure what the negative reviews are about. The owner was a nice old man and was walking around to say hi to most people. The restaurant was pretty full when we got there so we waited maybe 10 mins for our entrees and a bit for our main but they were very busy. We were fine with it.
We started off with a salad and the Spanish bread (yum!), and then had the hot tapas mixed dish for 2 to share which was great! Calamari, mushrooms, Spanish chorizo, meatballs and potatoes braves. I eat a lot for a slim guy and this was more than enough food. We probably didn't need the Spanish bread to be fair.
Around 8.30pm on Sat nights they have the Spanish dancers as well that perform near the front of the bar for everyone which was cool. We will definitely be back. The servers you can tell are all Spanish and English is not their first language but they were nice enough.
D. M.
Found Casa Asturiana close by the hotel we were staying at for a weekend in Sydney CBD. Excellent food and service. The staff were great and really attentive to our table. The paella and tapas was the perfect choice for our group to share. Will be back next time in Sydney!
A. S.
Cozy, casual and family friendly! Great staff, very helpful and attentive. Service was quick. Food was good but not great, some lower quality ingredients maybe, but reasonable for the price, and the whole experience was very good and so we had no complaints. Would return.
P. P.
Had the Hot Tapas share plate for two. All comes out at once so may cool down if you're a slow eater. Great Red Sangria and cheap by the litre! Reasonably cheap too for the amount of food and drink we had.
M. R.
Food was decent. Patatas bravas was a real winner. The other tapas I had - i.e. mushrooms, chorizo, calamari and meatballs - were decent. Only real disappointment was the prawns (definitely not fresh). Loved the sangria.
Decor is old school but charming. Very authentic and reminds of restaurants I’ve been to back in Spain. Warm atmosphere. Flamenco dancing performance was nice touch.
Service was adequate. Staff were friendly enough.
M. B.
Delicious food, lovely people and great atmosphere. Shared the hot tapas plate for 2 and Spanish bread and we were stuffed. The flamenco guitar was awesome too.
S. C.
Had been walking passed trying to find somewhere to eat, man at the front convinved us without being pushy at all, to try the restaurant. We were glad we did as it was exactly the flavours etc we were after.
Was very impressed, Service with a smile was great and very prompt, portions were just right and my house white matched well with my Paella Pork and Meats. Sangria was delicious and the Tiramisu was an awsome way to finish off my meal. I will definately be returning. Keep doing what you're doing.
L. R.
Absolutely excellent food. The flavours, the quality all in keeping with its well deserved reputation. You must book certainly for dinner and even for lunch too.
N. B.
Lovely birthday dinner. Paella was great and the red wines (all 3) awesome. Thanks to staff for making it memorable.
B. D.
This is the perfect restaurant to have lunch with a friend or with your family, or going with a big group of people ! Carlos is very nice and the food is delicious ! It really taste like the food in Spain (especially the Chorizo a la Sidra). I really liked it and will go again.
If you miss Spanish food, go there !
J. S.
As a tourist we struggled to find restaurants in this area as most places are bars or burger joints. This restaurant was fabulous! The food was served well and taste fantastic! Portions were big and they have an excellent menu to choose from. Definitely would recommend 🍽
J. C.
Been here at least 2 times. One for a date and the other for a catch-up with good ol' mates. Not one time have I had any negative experience and the food was delicious. Staff were also very hospitable and welcoming.
M. H.
This place looks like it hasn't changed since the 1970s. Could do with a makeover but, hey, it all adds to the atmosphere. One thing that was a real eye-sore though - one of the light bulbs in the cast iron chandelier was a compact flourescent, giving off a cold, harsh light - and looking REALLY ugly!
The place was busy, staff were efficient and friendly. We ordered the paella and sangria and were told it would take about 30 mins - 'Would you like some tapas while you are waiting?' I think this was their sales version of 'would you like fries with that' because the paella actually arrived in about 15 mins. And it was all we could do to finish it, so we certainly didn't need tapas as well.
The paella and sangria were exactly what you would expect and hope for. Just what el doctor ordered.
S. C.
Awesome place!. Very good food and service, and the ambience feels very similar to an actual Tapas Bar in Spain. Definitely the best original Spanish experience you can get in the city.
K. V. S.
The selection of meals is quite spanish but I don't feel comfortable paying for bread in a spanish restaurant. The tapas are quite dear if you put the price into relation with the quantity. Overall the Athmosphere was quite surreal being surrounded by 90% asians. But the staff speaks spanish so it isnt that much of a fake.
B. W.
We had a lovely tapas board, and the flan for dessert was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful too.
B. A.
Super friendly staff, great food. We had the Tapas to share and Sangria! Perfect mix and a good price! We'll be back!
S. B.
Friendly staff great food and service and wonderful ambience.

I ended up at Casa Asturiana restaurant through a unique series of events - my physio appointment was canceled unexpectedly, a massive train delay was underway and it was the anniversary of my Nonna's passing. I decided to head to Liverpool St to my Nonna's favorite restaurant Captain Torres only to find it no longer existed.
Two shop fronts down was Casa Asturiana. As a single diner I ventured in to be greeted at the day and shepherded to the bar. I was immediately welcomed and provided with a menu and plate by an attentive waitress.
Though I was single diner I received excellent service and attention from staff even as large parties gathered at tables. My garlic prawns and salad with caramelised fetta were speedy and delicious and my spanish rosè was generous in size and glorious in taste. Thank you for a lovely evening.
M. M.
Pretty authentic Spanish food. Great central location.
L. Y. (.
Chorizos + seafood & lobster paella + sangria for two.
Food and service are both good, but lobster could be fresher.
Price is higher than expected at $104.
J. H.
dinner there last night was lovely we had the mussels and the pepper steak a litre of sangria and waked very happy customers. I would recommend the restaurant to anyone have a special night out . the staff were friendly and the service was very fast.
M. P.
I order the Cazuela de la casa everytime I come upto Sydney and its simply amazing. A really good low carb high flavour option with possibly the best tasting tomato based broth ive had to this day. Good atmosphere and plenty of good wines to choose from as well. Staff are excellent. Thank you
G. C.
Everything we ate was wonderful !!!
Service was perfect & food came out promptly !!!
Best of all we’re the prices, bill usually makes me cringe because I have a family of 5 but the bill came & I was surprised. (Not a penny counter do I never look at the dish prices, feel like it ruins my meal 😉).
J. S.
One of the best spanish restaurants to go to in town hall. Their paella is very good as well as their entrees, featuring an interior style more reminiscent of the classic spanish era.
A. T.
Beautiful food, beautiful staff, beautiful wine list, beautiful restaurant. Modest prices.
What more could you ask for?
Anyone who posts negative comments about any aspect of this beautiful restaurant is a tosser. They probably own one of the adjacent restaurants!
L. R.
The place was super full so had to wait a long time for food, which is understandable. The paella could have been saltier but other than that, the frontperson was very nice
C. C.
The last bastion of the former Little Liverpool Street Spanish Quarter.
(If I am mistaken, please advise of any other Spanish venues ).
Host Uma, and the BBB (Bad Brazillian Brothers - just joking, I love them, as I do my actual brothers!) will look after you.
Spanish, Turkish and Brazillian style!
L. G.
My favourite Spanish restaurant in Sydney for over 10 years, I have been to other spanish restaurants around the area and have been disappointed with the quality and freshness of the food, however at Casa Asturiana it is always fresh and delicious! I highly recommend the Ensalada Espaniola, the dressing is to die for!
My only complain would be that I have been told (in 2 different occasions
within a few years) by different wait staff there that the boss keeps their tips.
It is disappointing to hear and might explain why some staff there aren't as attentive as one would hope. Its the only reason I do not give this restaurant 5 starts.
J. S.
Nice atmosphere, great food and well served!
C. C.
Recommend the paella, roast potatoes and deep fried calamari
J. K.
Wonderful atmosphere, delicious authentic food and friendly service. Thank you to Carlos and his staff, for helping my 7 and 3 year old children feel welcome and for making my birthday celebration a night to remember.
P. M.
This is old school Spanish tapas, some good, some average but service was fantastic and for the price of the mixed tapas plate pretty good value. The only real disappointment was the Patatas Bravas tasted like it had been reheated and was not crispy at all.
S. W.
Loved this place in the heart of the CBD in Sydney, authentic looking and very tasty tapas. Good price too, they had a deal on for $46 where you get 6 plates of tapas (garlic mushrooms, meatballs, prawns, patatas bravas, calamari and chorizo).
G.
The sole surviving Spanish restaurant in Sydney's old 'Spanish quarter'. Attentive service. Good menu choices
Unfortunately, I found their seafood and chicken paella to be somewhat mediocre. Excellent 'Spanish salad', though perhaps a bit stingy in regard to portion size.
They are currently seeking planning permission to install a lift and convert the first floor into a 'Spanish Club'.
No free wi-fi.
J. R.
Stayed in Sydney a few days and found Casa Assturiana nearby our Hotel.
Good food for a rainy cold night. We loved our seafood paella and we had a pleasant night.
C. B.
Food delicious. Great value. Comfortable, friendly venue
K. H.
Came here for the first time last week and we had a great time. Excellent service (and I don't say that too often) and we didn't have to wait to long for the food to start rolling out. Food was tasty but not fantastic.

The best place to eat! The food is always so fresh, and the presentation always amazing. Not to mention the price is awesome compared to most restaurants in the city! Wow
M. L.
Great food and atmosphere. Authentic Spanish food and drink experience with super friendly staff.
Keep coming back here!
G. S.
Very vivacious staff. Good atmosphere. Delicious food. I look forward to my next visit to try something different.
F. K.
Excellent place for a meal in the city! As soon as we entered, the smell of the delicious food overcame us. Fast service, delicious sangria and awesome food.
M. A.
Set menu they provide for groups not really stand with Spanish food.. It comes with pizza with BBQ source which does not go at all.. Been here few times for group gathering as others insisted to go here to experience something different and most of the time majority of the group did not enjoy at all.. It's over priced for nothing
n. r.
Terrific food, authentic taste and great service. Want proper Spanish near the CBD, give them a go! Yummy
B. V.
The Tapas was really good and prices were moderate. What can I say? Perfect
l. a.
We decided to celebrate our birthday there and we had such a great time. The food and the costumer service were awesome. We’ll be back for sure!
B. S.
Excellent value for price in CBD. Food is good, portions are huge. Tapas tasty. Definitely a place to visit more than once!

Fully recommended.
I'm from Galicia (Spain) and it was the first time in a Spanish restaurant in Australia (after being for almost 2 years in Sydney).
We have gambas al ajillo, patatas bravas, jamon serrano and huevos a la flamenca. All was great. Maybe the tapa of jamon was a little bit small if you compare with Spain but given the prices compared to other Spanish restaurants I had been investigating before deciding, it is at least the cheapest in Liverpool St.
Don't expect a fancy place. It isn't, and that's probably the best point, though it can sound weird. The aspect resembles a traditional tavern or tapas bar, and it feels almost like being at Spain for true.
The only bad thing it's the "Spanish" music and some decoration details though being Asturian resembled to some other Spanish-for-tourist places (which are full of Spanish topics that may only be applied if you are from the South or Madrid).
J. M. C.
Great food as well a very good customer service. Highly recommend.

D. W.
it was too dark inside, the food itself was really impressive but I can hardly tell how is the food I ordered until I ate them because I can not see them clearly.
C. M.
Love the ambience, wine selections, fresh seafood, excellent Paella de Marisco rice dish, and more.
D. M.
One of the last remaining traditional Spanish restaurants in what was once a row of great restaurants. Surprising find, good food, will be back
A. L.
Great Tapas, travel for your taste buds when you can't fly overseas.
P. G.
Nothing flash here, but good, old fashioned Spanish Tapas. The service is attentive and the food, whilst simple, is very tasty.

A very good restaurant. The tapas meals are satisfyingly filling. Try the Spanish temperanilo to go with your meal.

D. R.
I was very impressed to the decor over there, espeically the hanging utensils ....
The food are delicious, I can't name a specific names on the dishes, but i remember there is a ceramic finish hot pot with a chicken and beef marinated with sauces ...
it is a must-go twice for my family and remember to take pictures or bring your cameras (DSLR) with you before you take any eatery actions :P
W. e. (.
There is a change of menu. The seafood soup used to be rich but now, it becomes tastless. The other food was ok, but too expensive for the quality that was served.
A. G.
Delicious authentic Spanish food! Felt like we were in Spain for the night.
C. W.
Amazing sangria and a wide selection of tasty tapas dishes makes this a good spot when you're stuck on George St and want something that's not sushi or pub-food.

I ended up at Casa Asturiana restaurant through a unique series of events - my physio appointment was canceled unexpectedly, a massive train delay was underway and it was the anniversary of my Nonna's passing. I decided to head to Liverpool …
W. W.
Tapas were very nice indeed. Mains were good - I especially like mine, the salmon fillet served with veges and potatoes. I head the paela was ok - but not great. The dessert (flan) was slightly wanting - ok could have beet better - my wife …

This is old school Spanish tapas, some good, some average but service was fantastic and for the price of the mixed tapas plate pretty good value. The only real disappointment was the Patatas Bravas tasted like it had been reheated and was not crispy at all.
