Writing for our visit last month. Food was great and staffs were very friendly and helpful. It was very obvious that it is understaffed and they are running their very best to look after everyone. One disappointment was that the booking system asked if we are visiting for a special occasion and I putted in its for a birthday and the name of the person in the remarks. The staff at the front desk acknowledged it and wished my partner a happy birthday but that was it. We ordered some dessert at the end and hoping there would be a candle or something but unfortunately there was nothing. So I wasn’t quite sure whats the purpose of asking whats the occasion on the booking system. Otherwise everything else was great. Will be back.

Atmosphere is buzzing, decor is inviting and grand.
Menu is big enough, with a focus on meats. More information on the farms and qualities of the meats would have been appreciated ( is it fed organic, no antibiotics etc ).
We may have come on a busy night but the service was pretty rude, one girl seemed very stressed and overworked and didnt answer questions. They didn't ask if we wanted sparkling or still and just gave us sparkling ( some guests dislike sparkling ).
But the kicker was that one of our guests ordered a mocktail with alcohol added. We all affirmed it did not taste or smell of alcohol. When he returned it, the staff said that they were sure it had alcohol and would "replace it anyway". Then it came back, topped up and smelling of alcohol. We didn't blame them for forgetting an alteration but it was so shocking to be gaslit about whether the drink contained alcohol 🤣
Bill was 160 pp for 5 ppl ( about $800 ) and we had ordered pretty much everything on the menu.
Food was okay ( for the pricing ) but the bread was quite dry and bland.

Amazing service and some great starters. The T-bone steak was cooked to perfection and we'll salted. Good selection of sauces to add but not required at all. Wine selection looked good.

Great steak house in the CBD, service was very good and we didnt have to wait long for our food. We went on Wednesday night, it was quite around 6pm but getting busy around after 7pm.

It’s actually really good. Everything we had was delicious. The only thing that holds it to a four is the price for what you get. There are a lot of steak places in Sydney that do steaks of similar quality for a better price. Also (personal preference) I was hoping for more of a char on the steak myself. I love the crusty charred outside of a steak.
N. J.
The steak was so good. It’s tender and juicy.
R. Y.
Really good dinner experience. Much better than my expected. Friendly staff and amazing level of the steak. Little pricey tho. 5 stars, no doubt.

They finally reopened the restaurant after sydney lockdown 2.0 and Finally my team group visited this mecca of the aged steaks.
Medium-sizzled tomahawk steak was absolutely fantastic with henschke shiraz mataro 2020.
Kind and friendly team and management made our meeting dinner memorable.
I will definitely want to come back with my family for this distinctive taste of meat & service.
Thank you guys !
Gotta try if you are looking for a really finely aged steak. 😋

Amazing service, funny & very polite, professional staff members. We were served by Bentley the waiter - He made us laugh and helped us with our choices, giving us all the details to the options we were interested in. The food was nice and the venue is beautiful! I asked in the booking if we could have a more favoured seat, as it was a surprise birthday dinner booking & they delivered by seating us in a booth! Thankyou so much guys!

Very lovely place for steak!
With steak cooked to perfection, you can expect an enticing experience with deliciously rendered fat and a smoky caramelised crust.
Do note that it does take approximately 45 minutes to prepare, so definitely get starters. The downside of a thick cut steak is that it can be just 'meat flavour' in the middle but good gravy can solve that issue.
A worthwhile mention are the sides that accompany this experience. It does not disappoint and taste as good as it looks in my photos!

Absolutely loved this place! Came for the tomahawk, but unfortunately it was all sold out ! I guess we ended up getting more meat for our buck, by not having the tomahawk.
Instead, we ended up getting the following:
Milk buns
House cured salmon
Chophouse steak tartare
Wagyu Rump-cap
1kg Rib on the bone
Potato and rosemary Galette and
Steak cut chips
Which was all sufficient for 3 people
The staff was super friendly and quite knowledgeable on the different cuts. If you can't judge the quantity based on weight, you can ask them to bring the cut for you to have a look. I would highly recommend getting the chef to recommend how to cook the cut.
Ended the night with some dessert! We tried the chocolate torte and the baked lemon tart. I would recommend the baked lemon tart!!
They've got a private function room upstairs, if you're keen on having a larger group.

Yummmmmmmm eat here food is fresh and hot and the meat is the true hero it should be. The green beans , milk buns and prawn toast all really acted well in supporting roles. The sommelier was AWESOME and not pushy which is a pleasant professional change eat here .... no time for photos as I was eating ...it all !!!

Five people celebrating the successful completion of another project. What better way than 5 incredible tomahawks, bang on recommendations for sides, wines and the beers by the excellent and always attentive staff. Special note goes out to Vicki, her assistance through out the night was exceptional! Will definitely go back and highly recommended.

Delicious food, all of it; steak tartare, scallops, burrata, spicy roast potato, grilled mushrooms and our steaks were cooked to perfection. After we left the venue, both my wife and daughter said: "can we come back next week?".
M. D.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Summer of 69 menu last week! The staff we absolutely lovely and service was extremely fast even though the restaurant looked to be at capacity. There were plenty of gluten-free options on the menu and everything was fresh and tasty - will be visiting Chophouse again soon!

Yum. Good food, good service. Staff were always around without being too pushy and over engaging. Food came out at a good pace, and was cooked well. No complaints food or service wise. We did dine outside, the table close to the wall and I don’t think it’s been cleaned in a while. I didn’t notice at first but half way through my meal, I couldn’t take my eyes off the massive dead spider and the spider webs chilling right next to the table, next to my food.
A. D.
We went there for my wife birthday. They asked me about the occasion when I was booking the table, but nothing special has happened! I think the steaks are good but very expensive compared to other places with same quality. The restaurant itself is very nice and romantic.
T. X.
Amazing food and great service. Just perfect.

Great food, fantastic service and a lively busy, but not loud, atmosphere. Steaks were cooked perfectly as was everything else. Nice drink selection too

Absolutely lovely food and service! Enjoyed oysters, crab on toast and 8+ wagyu steak. One of the best places in Sydney for a romantic dinner. 😋

Loved this place. I found the service amazing and the prices were reasonable for the crazy awesome food served. My dish was perfect from start to finish. I loved the way the steak was cooked and I thought the wine list and drink menu was perfectly paired to the dishes.
F. M.
Had the summer of 69 set menu, definitly worth!

Amazing food, service and just general legends here. Scotty the head chef was serving and looking after us, and as an ex employee we were looking after beautifully. Can’t thank the team enough for making the night special even in trying times! Much love.
S. Y.
Amazing food and service and a lovely atmosphere. The $69pp Summer Special was amazing value and featured perfectly cooked steak and tender wagyu nuggets. Will definitely be returning to try other items on the menu!
C. G.
Fantastic service, food was fairly good. Steak was over cooked but still nice

Wow. Just an amazing dining experience overall, really liked how knowledgeable the staff is and their recommendations where spot on! When we ordered way too much food they told us straightaway that it was enough so I knew they were reliable from the start cause sometimes restaurants want you to over order but this place is 👌🏻. The food is honestly so worth it with the price range too I would highly recommend this place for steaks especially!! And the wine selection they have is almost endless! Everyone at the table really enjoyed their food and drink that was recommended. Definitely will be back soon 😋😊
M. K.
I went to celebrate my wife's birthday. We both liked the place overall, nice and friendly staff, clean and cozy. We ordered the wagyu rump medium rare. It was delicious on the outside but the piece was quite fat and a large part of it was still too chewy and inedible. We also ordered the grilled mushrooms which were legendary!
Apart from that though, I found their choice of starters, sides and desserts quite underwhelming and they had next to none non-alcoholic drinks. Also it was quite pricey for the value. Luckily we used our dine vouchers to offset part of the bill!
Interestingly, they asked us for the occasion at the time of reservation, when we checked in, several times during the dinner as well as at checkout. Given the number of times they asked and it was never initiated by me I thought they'd maybe throw in a free dessert or something. Weirdly though, nothing was actually done about it. Found that quite odd.
F. K.
Perfect experience. Great steak, great service, reasonable price. We choose rump cap and striploin. The waitress servicing outdoor provide great service and great smile.
Everything perfect except the bread
Suggest to install hand dryer in restroom

Came here for a quick bite as I was putting up at the hotel next door, but amazed that the few items I've ordered are delicious. The minute steak was amazingly tender n juicy, should have come here without the heavy high tea earlier. Nice atmosphere n very helpful staff 👍👍👍
T. L. E.
Very delightful experience. I celebrated a milestone birthday in July, and mentioned it during the reservation. Not only was I greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne, but I also received a delectable dessert after a succulent prime rib meal.
They don’t harp on tips in Sydney, it’s completely optional and there is no pressure to leave one. However, I believe in tipping, even for mediocre service, so this experience was well worth a 22% tip!
R. T.
Pricing is mid tier to a tier below fine dining i.e. $30 for a minute steak to $70 for the a 300 gram Waygu steak. Sides are optional extra that are of big proportion. Order fries and you get a portion bigger than large size Maccas chips . Menu is simple and easy to understand. Steak is great,, probably a 8 out of 10. Decor is a bit of a mishmash and may not be to fine dining standard. Staff is friendly. Made the booking via Amex Concierge Service and 2 glass of complimentary sparkling was provided. Good hearty meal at decent price with not much to rave about.

My partner and I ate at Chophouse for the first time and the initial customer service was fantastic - we were greeted by an energetic staff member who we laughed and joked with on the way to our table (and the same member waved us goodbye as well as remembering our names) - and was pretty good throughout the meal. A bit slow but still good.
I had the Kingfish Chudo and my partner had the Beef Nuggets for starters which we highly recommend - the Kingfish Chudo was light but packed with flavour, equally the Beef Nugget were crispy on the outside and juicy (you could easily have them for main there were so many).
The main was in my opinion a let down - my partner and I both had the 200g Rump Cap ($52) which may have been 200g raw but cooked was easily less. I had the chimichurri sauce which was not chimichurri I was expecting which includes chilli flakes and minced garlic to give it a zing, this version was just chopped parsley and oil. My advice before you order is to ask the staff if the weight of the meat advertised in the menu is cooked or uncooked. The sides are plentyful - we had the broccolini ($12) leaf salad ($12) and chips ($14).
Overall we gave it a 8/10 - would I/we go back? Probably with a big group of mates or a corporate function, service overall was good but there are better steakhouses in the CBD which are slightly better value for money.
D. M.
The service was top notch. The setting is fine. Not fine dining but 7 out of 10. If all you want is a good wine list and good steak then this is your place. I did find the selection of food quite disappointing. Now this maybe due to Covid but compared to other Steakhouses it was not great. If you are into desserts then I wouldn't put the venue on the top of the list. Even the starters weren't overly compelling. But the Steak was top and that's what the place says on the Tin so fill your meaty guts.
M. C.
Brilliant food and exceptional wine. A great atmosphere and simply a great place to have lunch in the city. Highly recommend.
D. K.
The service was great, very friendly staff which is always a positive. The sirloin steak with mushrooms sauce was cooked perfectly and be warned the yellow mustard has such a kick. If does get busy very quickly during lunch time.
M. H.
Food as usual is good but on my last visit (5 Nov) I noticed that the restaurant was too busy and not enough waiting staff. The waitress was not knowledgeable on the menu and not as helpful as in the past
L.
Been here twice and always end up eating the steak before I could take a picture of it! Atmosphere is dimmed and cozy. Would highly recommend if your looking for a great steak, the sides are ordered separately fyi. Staff are very attentive and friendly and helpful when asking for recommendations.
R. N.
I like the atmosphere. They have a bar which you can wait there if you have group booking. Amazing food and service. Staff are professional and always helpful.
Meat was cooked perfectly based on what I asked for.
They have entertainment package for kids to keep them busy and also kids menu which is great.
M. D.
Super fast and friendly staff, amazing dishes and loved the cocktails! Will visit again.
E. M.
Was excited and very much looking forward to what by all reviews was to be a fantastic meal.
Steak was nice enough, though have made an equally good steak at home (definitely not worth $50+)Presentation was poor, simply a steak on a plate. Having to order all sides, not even one accompaniment included is disappointing. Perhaps I was expecting something more from a top chef...
I won’t be throwing away my money again.
D. M.
Superb steaks cooked exactly as requested and quality sides. The service was fantastic with friendly and helpful staff. Pepper, bernaise and chimmi churri were delicious
Y. L.
The steaks were delicious, calamari was fresh and cooked perfectly, cauliflower gratin was creamy and flavorful. 4 stars because of the price.

Just had a Tuesday night dinner here, was psyched for a great steak. Pros - interior was gorgeous, service from the greeter to the table staff was warm and attentive. Ordered the haloumi (squeaky and delicious), onion rings (out of this world) and mushrooms (serviceable but wouldn’t order again) as entree/sides. For the mains - fillet steak (recommended as I prefer my steak rare/med rare) and the scotch fillet (recommended and ordered as medium rare). My fillet steak with the cafe de Paris sauce was moist, delicious with the right amount of give. Unfortunately the scotch was rare (to the point where the connecting sinews in The centre were still stretchy and transparent, surrounded by red raw meat). We were already full from the entree/sides so didn’t ask for it to be recooked, just ate the 50% of it on the edges that was cooked) discreetly brought it to the waitresses attention when we asked for the bill. She was skeptical and wanted to take the steak to the kitchen lights (the restaurant lighting is quite dim) to check it. She came back and admitted it was quite uncooked and gave a half hearted apology. A little disappointing end to a nice evening, didn’t take it off the bill, though they gave us a little block of chocolate to take away.

My partner and I were very pleased with everything Chophouse offered. He had a wonderful birthday and the service was impeccable. Not to mention the 900g steak was perfectly cooked, and preferred size for us, and it tasted absolutely amazing, as well as the wine recommendation and the sides, we got the chop salad and cream corn <3 are to die for. Thanks Chophouse for a wonderful evening with great service and great food. We will be back~

Go here for meat.
Great selection of steaks, great service and great decor. Very interesting building.
I've been here a couple of times and have not been disappointed. Very good food options and reasonable wine list.
T. P.
This place delivers great cuts of meat and cooks them to perfection. The first time I was there, I found Chophouse very impressive. The second time also did not disappoint but we waited at least 15 mins for a table we booked. We were also on time that day.
P.
Outstanding. Food was exceptional, but the service really lifted the experience. I'll be making and storing cured egg yolks myself after the lesson from this evening. I also have to call out the sommelier and an excellent cellar, with some great off listing recommendations.
M. H.
Nice steak that I would not be bothered cooking at home. Lunch is a bit of a men's club feeling though.
W. R.
The food here was outstanding - followed the attentive and knowledgeable waitress's advice and got the Wagyu Tomahawk steaks which were absolutely delicious, particularly when paired with a chilled Pinot Noir. It wasn't cheap but in this case there was definitely value for money!
J. M.
Been twice, both times steak has been well cooked and presented! Great wine selection and the deserts are amazing as well. Highly recommend if you're after a top steak experience.
N.
Australian wagyu scotch filet with chimichurri sauce. I've has wagyu before, but not from Australia but Japan. Setting aside the grade, I think I prefer the Australian variety more. Japanese wagyu tastes like meat for novice carnivores who prefers not to eat meat. This had gorgeous fat, the right amount of chew and sauce was on point as well.
D. W.
Delicious steaks and lovely staff. Highly recommended and definitely will be back again and again!

Chophouse is an upscale steakhouse located in heart of CBD. Upon entering, one is greeted by enthusiastic breed of joyous waitstaff who are eager to help you with your order, patient to walk you through the menu, and the steaks prepared are next level.
Definitely bang for your buck!

Ate at Chophouse last night, what an amazing restaurant and if you're a lover of meat then this just has to be on your list of must visit restaurants in Sydney. The staff are really helpful in assisting you with any questions and choices, I was there with 2 other guys and I'd say we're not huge eaters but love quality food and we chose the cut to order options, the Rib on the bone, 900g done medium rare and the cut to order sirloin, 700g cooked the same. Spectacular meat seasoned and cooked to absolute perfection. The rib on the bone was that amazing we actually ordered another 700g and certainly didn't need to but were that impressed with the meat that the choice to sample some more was easy. The accompanying sides of beans and potato gallette were impressive as well. Nothing let us down but I have to say it was the best ever meat I've eaten. Cooked to perfection, top quality cut but it was also perfectly seasoned with an exquisite char and melt in the mouth goodness inside. Next time I'm there I'll be 100% going for a 600-900g cut rib on the bone just for myself
S.
Well of course it's going to be pricey, but for the money you expect the meal to make an impression - which it really didn't unfortunately. The steak was good, sauces ok, and the sides (as mentioned by others) were very ordinary. Dessert was pretty good, even if it's $16 for a thin slice of lemon tart. Nice ambience and spacious enough to have a conversation, which was a nice bonus
A. L.
This is a the place in city if you like a nice chunk of meat plus they have a nice outdoor seating area. I like the retro feeling of interior as well. Service is always good.
M. B.
Been here several times and always leave wanting to go back for more. Finally tried the Tomahawk and it was outstanding. Great selection of steaks and always have interesting specials! Served by Tim who was fantastic! Couldn't fault the service here at all
N. M.
That's how you know that you have a great chef cooking for you: simple bits of food but cooked to perfection. Grilled mushrooms, eye fillet, even oysters... everything was flawless! And wine selection... mmmm.... Definitely on my 'have to come back' list!
D. T.
Great attentive and friendly team. Food was excellent and even experienced a few new things.
S.
Amazing food! We got served right away and the food was a bit pricey but worth it! I ordered the Seared Tuna and the Sugary Doughnuts, both were awesome!
C. P.
By far the best steak in Sydney with excellent service as well. I recommend this place to all steak lovers near and far..
M. 1.
Had their signature 1.7 kg steak and 400g wagyu. Tasted good but price was a bit steep. Nice atmosphere and service
C. A.
Absolutely amazing. The service was extraordinary and the food was unbelievable. Thank you for an amazing evening.

Not what is used to be sadly...
Chophouse was an automatic go to. A super safe bet for a good night (particularly when you work next door) but after a recent dinner, I think I will take a break for a while and expand my horizons. The menu is concise, the quality is good, service is professional yet friendly and there is a nice wine list. But the simple fact is, that for the money you pay, it just doesn't stack up against so many other restaurants that meet those credentials and are far more innovative and interesting. The COVID-inspired (maybe) menu is now so limited, and so focused on VERRRY expensive meat, you can feel a bit railroaded into going down the $120 steak path. The pricing structure, charging per 100gms, comes off as pretentious (its not caviar!) and for the average punter, you really have no idea if the 700gm rib-eye comes with a 300gm bone down the side making ordering a bit of a guessing game. The sides are very steak-dinner-friendly, tasty and reasonable in proportion but certainly nothing memorable. At the end of the day there really isn't anything wrong with Chophouse but I just don't think there is anything REALLY right anymore either.
N.
Food is fine, was a bit disappointing when our steaks come out "solo" with no garnish at all. One cannot deny the good taste though! Dessert was boring, it's something you'd get from cafe that sort of taste.
Service was the reason of -2 stars. There is almost no service at all, someone took our order, different person approached who know pretty much nothing, and someone who delivers food. No names, no introduction. Just different people who do different things make sure that food is on the table, and we have to go to the cashier to pay! eeek.
There are many other steakhouses around, I will not rush to go back.
A. G.
Limited menu probably underlines the focus on the meat and what wonderful meat it is. Crab Toasts are really good. My Wagyu Rump Cap was excellent. Great seasoning and perfectly cooked. The Lemon Tart is exceptional the Chocolate Cake so-so. Room is probably too bright now and has lost some mood
F. M.
Had the summer of 69 set menu, definitly worth!

A great steakhouse with a wonderful ambience. This is one of my favourite steakhouses in Sydney.
I highly recommend the Wagyu Scotch Fillet. It is wonderfully tender, silky and delicious.
J. L.
I visited on 5th May evening.
All Staffs were very thoughtful. Steaks with mashed potato we ordered were best ever. The atmosphere was perfect too.
Even though I dont drink alcohole, I had to ...
These made my day.
I strongly recommand this restaurant to youguys.
5 star is not enough For this.
J. A.
The portions are very good and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The ambience is nice for couples and the outside section is nice for some after work drinks with friends.
N. D.
Top quality steak cooked to perfection! Service and ambiance is 10 out of 10. Excellent wine list which includes all the top countries and regions. Highly recommended this place - been going here since 2011.
N. w. k.
Amazing Wagyu beef. Went for the big one. It was melting in my mouth and an excellent Caesar salad as a side.
S. B.
We were tired and hungry from walking and enjoying all of the amazing Sydney sites! This place was a great find. The bun was soft and tasty, the meat seasoned well and the lettuce, pickle and onion just added to the whole meal.
R. W.
We had a great meal at the Chophouse last Friday night! Tomahawk is highly recommended and the wine list was top shelf!
Thanks for the wine suggestions Paul, big fan of Izway, Rob & Les, Barossa!
Looking forward to our next visit!
O. M.
The best meat me and the boys had ever eaten. Tomahawk was my fave, but the Sirloin was also amazing. Staff were great. Overall bloody brilliant
G. D.
If looking for a great steak and great vibe this place is hard to beat. Service felt a bit rushed and could have been more accommodating. That being said might have just been a busy time. Would go again!
B. H.
Had a small get together to celebrate the end of 2020 with some work mates. Chophouse was perfect.... sat in bar outside for a couple then went into restraunt for an amazing meal. Staff were great and the inside bar was perfect for a few drinks after dinner. Enjoy!
D. D.
Awesome Steak house
Great selection of Steaks and sides
Caesar salad was great
G. K.
We went there yesterday in a group of 5 and ordered the Summer special $ 69 set dinner. It was so yummy and did not disappoint us. We thought $69 could be spent on a seafood buffet dinner with lots of variety but we thought wrong! I could not fault the food! The highlight for me was the starter - melt in your mouth beef nuggets. I like it the best from the 4-course and follow by cured meats board. The main dish i had was the rib, the serving is regular size which cost $49 already. The set probably value at about $100. We were so full and had to box up the dessert home. Well done Chophouse! Highly recommend!
N. B.
Pretty delicious food and even better cocktails, well priced also! Only down fall was a few chewy pieces in my steak which I felt were in edible and should not be when you pay $50+. Overall delicious and would return
D. S.
Was delicious, you should definitely go.
M. L.
Lovely attentive service, offers to taste the wine before you commit to a glass and to see the cuts of steak before you decide on your main. The food was lovely. We'll be back!
C. P.
My partner and I have come here for lunch, happy hour, and dinner many times. Each time we had top notch service and food. The staff and the food are a winning combination here that keep up coming back.
The staff- They are consistently helpful and genuinely friendly. Always ready to help with recommendations for wine pairings, appetizers and specials. I really appreciated when they helped me find a lost item that flew off my table! The General Manager was very helpful in looking under tables and told me to give him my number incase they found it (which they did). And the lovely hostess tried to chase me down as well when they found it! We frequently get the same servers who are all super nice and give superb service even when it is busy.
Food and drinks- I love the lunch special- it's a killer deal and tasty! Happy hour is always delightful with revolving choices. Cocktails are excellently made. Wines delicious. The steaks are, I'm not exaggerating, the best I've had in Australia. I've tried multiple types and cuts, all excellent quality and so delicious. They are always cooked perfectly medium rare, and we always get the yummy mushroom sauce with our steaks. We've tried multiple seasonal appetizers, desserts and other mains as well and they're all of similar excellent taste and quality.
R. M.
The food is absolutely amazing. My meal was cooked perfectly, the service was excellent and the venue was very intimate. It has to be my new favourite steak restaurant. I wish I could give it more stars.
G. N.
Amazing atmosphere and service was second to none.
The waiters were very friendly, professional, and helpful.
The food was amazing! We ordered the scotch fillets, rib on the bone, linguine, marinated olives, Caesar salad, and buffalo mozzarella salad. We couldn't fault any of them.
The meat was cooked to perfection! Tender and juicy and worth every $.
Would highly recommend this place and can't wait to go there again.
L. T.
Excellent service.. I still prefer steak at Meat & Wine Co. though. Must order the trout scratchings!
S. J.
Great wine menu, starters were lovely; crab and scallops; mains: very dissapointed.. overpriced for quality of cut... and price.... unfortunately would not return...
L. L.
Staff is professional and friendly. Food and wine are excellent. Nice ambience.
X. W.
The food is ok, below our expectation. Butbthe service is good. I took 2 stars off because When we asked if we could use the Nsw voucher, the waiter refuesed us with confidence. While it is listed in the nws gov website...
C. L.
Definitely earned a 5 star rating this time. Very high quality meat cooked to perfection. This time we had the 1.7kg tomahawk steak it tasted amazing. Previously the side dishes are kinda average but this time they are done very well(new items?) and complimented the steak nicely. This is a nice place for friends and colleagues to come together or when you simply feel like to have flavorful steak at a reasonable price.
M. K.
Carnivores' paradise. The best steak I've had anywhere for years - no exceptions. A lovely rump steak from the specials list, it had been dry aged for weeks and was perfectly cooked exactly as ordered. The staff were excellent and attentive despite the restaurant being full during the Friday lunch service. Only minor complaint would be about the level of noise but it's no worse than plenty of other places. Oysters to start were obviously opened only after I asked for them and therefore truly fresh and delicious. The chocolate block, pictured here by others was good as was the cheese but let's face it, you're here for the meat. It is very seriously good.
G. B.
The chophouse was amazing all round. Firstly the lighting and decor had an ambient feel. The Wagyu nuggets were melt in the mouth! Would recommend them for sure, my burger was very tasty too. All the food on the menu looks good and look forward to coming back to try something new!
T. E. K.
It was my first time eating at Chophouse today and the one thing that stood out to me the most was the service we received from Rosie. She is so friendly, helpful and genuine and is very deserving of appreciation and compliments.
m. B.
We had the wet aged tomahawk steak. It was cooked perfectly. Not sure how it would go shared between 4 though

The food was great and the service very good. Unfortunately, the tables are close together and our meal was spoilt by the loud-mouthed solo diner two tables away who button-holed the couple next to him (on Valentine's!) and made sure that they knew he was an airline pilot and that he prepared the best steaks in the world. I know it's not the restaurant's fault - but they chose to jam the tables in so close. We went for the great steaks and got great steaks. Good enough that, if we are ever in Sydney again, we would probably take a chance on not having the meal spoiled by a fellow diner.
V. M.
Food was fantastic. Too bad that the chairs we were sitting on were as if I was at my local pub not at all aligned to the dining experience and costs. Chairs were very uncomfortable which brought down the actual experience. Can't fault the food and service though.
O.
Went here lastnight , amazing service then the lady who walked us to our table when we left took a picture of me and my partner behind there wine bottles too ! Food was amazing so as the drinks thank you for a amazing night will be back sooner then later !
G.
Some of the best steaks I've ever eaten. They were cooked to perfection and the sides matched their flavours perfectly.
K. S.
The main event was the steak. Cooked perfectly to the medium I expected with the fats rendered a little. Enjoyed the steak!
H. E.
The best steak in Sydney. Great 👍
C. C.
So very nice and delicious place! The staff is super nice. The food is superb!!! Great chef!
Super recommended, the prices are super affordable. From a casual lunch, company dinner to a romantic meal, this place is for everyone!
MUST try the sticky beef and the scallops!
w.
Excellent tomahawk and cheese plate, perfect portion split among 3 people
N. W.
Bring 3-4 friends along and feast on the Tomahawk. It’s great!
I. C.
Been here few times, food quality is consistent, always great in flavor as well as freshness and meat always cooked to perfection. Ambience is great and service always friendly, attentive and fast
F. L.
Wonderful selection of cuts to choose from, cooked perfectly. A nice variety of salads and side dishes to complement the main choice and lovely selection of desserts to complete the meal. Attentive service, nice wine list for those interested. I'm never disappointed here. Always feel well looked after and definitely love the food.

By far the most delicious tender melt in your mouth steak I’ve have ever eaten! The atmosphere is warm n inviting the staff are friendly & help full. Easily one of the best restaurants in Sydney
L. J.
+ All our steaks were cooked perfectly
+ The vintage interiors of the venue are charming. Lots of open space. Cosy feel.
+ Convenient and close to public transport
+ Halal options available on the menu
- Expensive, but expected for a quality meal
O. S.
OMG the steaks just melted in your mouth! Overall the food and dining experience was fantastic... I'll be back!
G. L.
Always outstanding!
The food and service at Chophouse is always first class and is undisputably the best steak restaurant in Australia (not that I have tried them all, but have certainly been to those that claim to be the best in their respective states.)
This time was encouraged to share the tomohawk which I have always had reservations about. Never again will I have a reservation! Presentation of course gets 10 from 10 and the meat the same.
We were last to leave on a Friday night and at no time were we asked to wind it up. Highly recommended.
A. M.
The original and the best. Great steakhouse atmosphere, nice range of beers and a good wine list. Steaks were cooked to perfection. Service could have been a little better - they forgot one of our salads and sauces...
W. W. W.
It's one of those places you really need to experience,, it's all about the Sizzle..
The Steak is good too!
We don't get to eat here for lunch everyday when you clean and detail cars for a living,, but it's one place you definitely have to try.. It's a great experience and worth the money.
M. J.
My partner and I had dinner here last night and it was delicious!
He had the beef rib and I had the tenderloin
His beef rib was so tender and juicy while my steak was spot on!
The chips we ordered could've been more crunchy and I felt it was under-seasoned.
The apple and fennel salad was good but nothing special.
The pricing is a little bit on the expensive side but overall I enjoyed my time here.
A. W. G.
Came here for dinner with a friend. Ordered the dry aged sirloin (boned, medium-rare) and the wagyu rump cap (medium) with three different sides. Both cuts of steak were delicious and very tender especially the rump cap which melted in our mouths. The sides were equally delicious as the mashed potatoes and cauliflower gratin which were both divine. The service we received was also good as the wait staff was very attentive and they knew their meat cuts very well. Overall, this place is a great place for a nice dinner and for steak lovers who enjoy a nice piece of steak.
M. T.
I recently went to the Chop House on Bligh Street, Sydney.
The Steak was OK and fairly tasty, but the sides were very ordinary. Thick Cut Steak Chips were not thick cut and looked and tasted like the McCains variety you find in your local freezer section. The Mac & Cheese side would have been ideal for anyone that was lactose intolerant; It was the driest Mac & Cheese I have ever had, nearly flavourless, and it certainly had no traces of cheese in it.
The staff were obviously keen to push alcoholic drinks, and I was asked no less that 4 times by different wait staff what wine or beer I was going to order. Given the price and experience I would have difficulty justifying a return trip any time soon.

Went there yesterday for our anniversary and was really pleased. Nice and knowledgeable staff. Cool place and most of all, delicious steak. We even got a surprise dessert from them with a greeting! Booking is essential as it gets busy here even at lunch. ☺️
s. r.
Starting with a dozen super fresh oysters and a glass of Pinot Grigio at the bar, I moved on to the $69 fixed menu with my date. Nice being in two, so that you're able to try more dishes, and share them. The Sticky Wagyu Beef Nuggets are sensational. Yummy Marinated Olives. So is the Salt and Pepper Squid and Caesar Salad. The Rib on the Bone was perfectly cooked rare, as requested, and the Chophouse Chocolate Block to finish was heavenly! Excellent, friendly service too!
P. R.
Consistent steakhouse with tasty food and wine options. Have been satisfied with both the steak and the sides, and, have appreciated the wine recommendations received from the staff. Will return when the occasion arises and feel like spending the $$$.
S. M.
Have been here a number of times, and we keep coming back. The steak is cooked wonderfully, as you can imagine a place named Chophouse would do. Only two things which would make the steak out of this world are:
1.) more seasoning
2.) more of a seared crust
The Maillard Reaction on these steaks have barely had an opportunity to develop the beautiful flavours created when done well. Therefore, the steaks, when brought to the table, can be a bit grey.
R. H.
Pleasantly surprised by the super friendly staff, the high quality of the steaks and side dishes and the wine selection and all of that at a reasonable price. A gem in the CBD area. Thank you for a great dinner after a busy work day. Sorry for the lack of pictures but once we started with the steak the thoughts to picture them was gone.
E. (.
This place consistently delivers great tasting steak and dishes! The waiters are knowledgeable (shoutout to Matthew and Bentley) and accommodating, as they bought ingredients just for us! The restaurant looks great, is perfect for a casual meal and is priced very well! Would highly recommend!
L. B.
I always love coming here, by far one of my favorites and i always happy to see such friendly staff... the food is absolutely great and i always recommend this place to friends. Keep up the great food and service guys!!!
J. H.
Best steak i have ever had.
A. W.
Nice steaks, good atmosphere, pleasant service, extraordinarily expensive.
L. V.
The food was delicious however we thought it was overpriced - $68 for a piece of steak...???? Just the piece steak!!! . I had to order side dishes and they were very small portions. So we ordered desserts to fill up two teenagers stomachs.
The service was VERY slow. There were not many people in the restaurant but our food took 50 mins to arrive!!!. Nobody came to the table to explain what was happening. It was me who stood up to check. We still left 10% of tips as we believe people need another chance!
A.
Impeccable service , didnt have to wait long at all. Meat was cooked to perfection! Would highly recommend.
C. M.
Great ambience, great service and Overall very nice quality dishes. Upstairs area is fantastic as the hide lined walls make it really easy to hear the conversation at your table even when it’s busy and high ambient noise. Only reason for 4 stars is that the value just isn’t quite there in the steak compared to other steak restaurants I’ve been to for similar price. That said, very nice overall.
J. B.
This is by far the best steak house in Sydney (if not Australia). The service is absolutely spot on - attentive and friendy, but not overboard. And the steak...my lord the steak is enough to make you believe in a God that loves you and wants you to be happy. I would eat here everyday for the rest of my life and be the happpiest human in all the world. Make sure you visit at least once before you die!!!
M. V.
We had dinner here to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday! The lighting is perfect and the place itself is very warm and welcoming!
We ordered the sticky beef nuggets and 1/2 dozen oysters on ice for starters! They were great! I had the lamb chops for main which was $41 for 2 pieces and chips as a side dish for $9! I really enjoyed the chops, it tasted really good, even though they were small I was very satisfied! My boyfriend had the Scotch fillet 300g which was $69 and chose mash potato for $10 as a side! He said it was great but wished that the presentation could look a little bit more wow!
Overall we had a good time! The only thing that made us a bit uncomfortable was when we were ready to pay the bill which was $187 the waiter asked us if we wanted to pay a tip and we said no! He asked us if the food wasnt good and I told him it was very delicious! Then he explained the tips go to people who cooked your food and washing the dishes etc! Actually im grateful to the people who are behind the kitchen making our food BUT theyre already getting paid to cook! I just think that people shouldnt be forced into paying tips!! If they say no then do not question why!

What can I say!?!
Greeted at the door by Mark who was anticipating our arrival,
I was sat at the bar top where the charming bar man (Lloyd) was quick to my service. The Martini was stirred up nicely and I was offered some stunning Olives with orange and lemon rind.
My partner arrived and we were taken to a booth in their stunning, near medieval cobble stone villa dining room. We were approached by Vicky, a very well presented and exceptionally knowledgeable section waiter who proceeded to explain the specials.
We settled for all of Vicky's Recommendations including bread to start, the Wagyu beef nuggets and the impressive 450 gram 10 week dry aged ribeye with a side of mash.
Food was excellent and being my first attempt at a dry aged steak, I couldn't have been in better hands.
From beginning to end, an exceptional experience!
e. b.
A wonderful dinning experience, we were treated to mouth watering steaks and some juicy lamb cuts.
Our waiter Matt was friendly and he knew the menu and wine list quite well.
The price was very reasonable and the atmosphere in the restaurant was enjoyable and suited the venue.
The parking was very easy, just out the front!
The dessert menu was out of this world!
K. K.
Great steakhouse with good wine selection. Excellent service with vintage warm ambience. Enjoyed the wagyu beef, it did not disappoint and the sides we tasty too even just chips and onion rings. Recommend the Malbec with the wagyu steak.
S. S.
Food was really excellent, everything was delicious and service was great (even on a busy night). I do wish my steak had a little bit less fat on it (for a filet it was more fat than I expected). The wines are exquisite. Overall, it is pricy and the sides and sauces are purchased separately, but it was worth it.
J. R.
Great central location. Went here with a few friends but equally would suit a business lunch. The service was great. All the steaks our group ate were tasty. I like mine medium rare and it was perfect. The wine selection was extensive.
C. M.
Been there quite a few times.
And have hosted a function in their private room. It can house up to 40 people if my memory serves me right.
Staff are very nice and helpful
The food are good but seems like they're fluctuating. At times they are really good almost cook to perfection and other times are okay.
My wife love the double double lamp chop, which is their signature dishes. Again it fluctuate.
Overall, it is a good restaurant and would recommend you to try out.
V. H.
Excellent cuts of steak with good variety of sides
A. B.
The food was absolutely phenomenal and the services was of the highest quality, we absolutely loved our dining experience at Chophouse
m. a.
The steaks were good quality and the service was very friendly and efficient. I'd say it was a little overpriced relative to what I've experienced where in Sydney. In my opinion you get a better grade of quality produce at Kingsley's. A minor peeve, as I was not drinking alcohol that night, was that the softdrinks are not kept in the refrigerator. As a result they go flat very quickly.
S. 9.
We loved the experience. They noted it was my partners birthday. When we arrived we were seated immediately. Bentley was our waiter for the night. He was very knowledgeable and informative about the menu. He also gave us a dessert to celebrate my partners birthday, which was very nice. Great atmosphere and general all round positivity. Will definitely come back!!
A. H.
Amazing venue, service and overall dining experience! I asked them to make it special for my boyfriends birthday and they reserved us a booth, the waiter greeted him with a happy birthday and we were sent home with a big block of chocolate to enjoy with a message on it saying happy birthday. We had the Tomahawk and it was delicious! Would definitely come back and bring friends!
D. K. (. W.
Fantastic experience. Lovely food, immaculate service from all the waiters/waitresses attending us and fantastic ambience. Top notch in value-for-money and would definitely look forward to visiting again next time we’re in Sydney.
E. J.
Excellent environment, excellent service. The price is a bit expensive but definitely worth it.
In my opinion it serves the best steak in Sydney CBD. Also besides the mains, I recommend sides like chips or salad too. Everything I ordered there are prepared in the same high level standard.
T. W.
When you walk in you are greeted with an impressive wall of empty wine bottles and the glorious display of huge chunks of meat undergoing the dry aging process. You expect great steaks out of this place and that is exactly what you get, the price is a tad bit on the expensive side but in my honest opinion worth it for the quality of the steak especially the dry aged sirloin.
M. F.
Came here for a birthday dinner and was blown away by the service and quality of the food. Steak was cooked beautifully and was a perfect potion size. Although my wife and I skipped on dessert, they brought out a small fudge bar in a take away box for my birthdat. Would definitely come here again for a special occasion.
C. K.
Food is great, atmosphere is fantastic... but the service and knowledge from the staff was incredible. Our small group had an awesome time and I look forward to having more dinners here!

I was in Sydney recently and popped into Chophouse for a quick lunch.
I had heard some really good things about this place - so my expectations were probably set a bit high.
I arrived pretty much just on lunch. I was met with a pleasant smile and a bit of conversation and taken to a seat. It was pretty empty when I arrived.
Someone was over quickly to take my drink order. I was ready to order food too - being a quick on and a simple lunch. I ordered a beer and an eye fillet - with a side of chips. The waitress suggested that she could split the single side with the chips and some greens. Normally I probably would have - but today - no thanks - just some chips and meat. Perfect.
Beer came out pretty quickly and not too much later the steak and chips came out. I chose a pretty standard café de Paris butter. Steak was cooked medium.
I snuck a chip. Oh man. Who cooked these thing? What did they use? Amazing! Super crispy - like SUPER crispy on the outside with a nice fluffy interior. Awesome... but then...
I tried the steak. I've had a lot of eye fillets around the country in various restaurants. It's my go to when I get steak. This was easily one of the best. Why did they waste time with a steak knife? I could have used a butter knife to slice though it. Flavour was just amazing and it was cooked PERFECTLY.
With a slight hint of mustard, I was in heaven. What a simple yet fantastic meal. I will be heading back here next chance I get and trying some of the other amazing looking food on the menu.
Glad I got there early too. The place was jumping by the time I left! Make sure you book or get there early!
J. H.
Good steak and nice industrial vibe. For the price that you pay, the service is a bit hit and miss. The waiter who served us was not friendly but had a habit of throwing used cutlery onto the plate in front of you which was very distracting and would interrupt the conversation. Otherwise a good dining experience.
C.
Always enjoy the steak here. Ordered 2 rare fillets. 1 came out rare and the other more medium. No questions asked. Replacement produced within minutes of us raising the matter with our waitress.
K. M.
Good, quality steak house. Service is decent and attentive. A bit noisy and crowded if looking for an intimate dining experience with conversation. Suitable for an after drinks bite. Perfectly cooked steaks and a good range of options
C. D.
One for the carnivores. The steaks are just awesome. Service is good with the possible exception of the bar staff on a busy Friday night. It treads a interesting path between fine dining and mature rugby boys own restaurant. The food keeps dragging me back.
S. W.
This was the first place I ate when I first got to Sydney 4 years ago and I still like it now. Having been back a few times, this place is still great. The styling inside is best described as purposefully rustic, the menu is fairly large and everything I've had so far has been very good and tasty. I will continue to come here for the quality, choice, price, atmos, location and the outside seating.
N. C.
I love the atmosphere here and the meat is such good quality and locally sourced. If you have a few people with you, share the tomahawk. It's pricey so but worth it for an amazing steak.
R. W.
I had dinner on Friday 14th September at the Chop House. There were 7 of us celebrating my son's 40th birthday. The service and food was very good with one exception. My son ordered the T-Bone steak rare . It was cooked correctly but the steak itself was tasteless. It was not seasoned at all. He asked me to taste it and I agreed with him. I mentioned this to the manager on the night and asked him to pass it on to the chef.
A. H.
Visiting Australia, we wanted to try their meats since that's what they are known for. But wasn't too impressed compared to our steakhouses in Ny. Tomahawk chophouse was good but not the best. Cooked it to a perfect medium rare though!Wife thought the sauces were a plus. Waiter worried us about not being able to finish it but we showed him lol. Potato purée was very tasty.
G. W.
Dined here on Saturday night as are new to the city and was not sure where to go for a good steak. Simply googled steakhouse and Chophouse appeared. Took a while for our drinks order to be taken and when they finally were, was not asked for a further drink until we had almost finished our main course. Cleared our glasses but left the empty bottle on our table. We really had to try and make eye contact with someone to get service. I ordered the baked haloumi as a starter and it was only just, my husband the calamari and this was very boring/bland. Scotch fillet for mains and these were ok. Nothing to rave about and we have definitely had better elsewhere. The sides, although expensive, were delicious. When there are so many dining options in the city, Chophouse really needs to lift their game, especially in the service department.
M. Q.
Had a few meals here. Always busy and full but the place never seems too loud. Steak is amazing. Service has been hit and miss but I'll still go back when in Sydney and chasing a decent steak.
R. M.
Amazing service great food. This is not your garden variety 'steak place'. Go the Tomahawk
R. N.
Great food, every time. Only variable is the staff - sometimes the service is impeccable, other times its inconsistent and at worst, well, I've called the front desk in the past while our group waited over 30mins to order dessert. The steaks are great though, and they keep me coming back.
E. K.
Beyond underrated! This is one if my favourite restaurants in Sydney by far! The atmosphere, the lighting, the food *drool* and the wine list! Not to mention the incredible career professionals delivering an outstanding experience every time. Xoxx
P. W.
Had the 450g t-bone which was pretty good. Also had the special starter which was 3 x scallops which we shared between 3 of us. They really were excellent scallops. There is an extensive wine menu but not much (if anything) under $50. We had a bottle of red that was about $70 and it was well overpriced. Nice but not $70 good. The service was fine, no complaints. Overall, pretty average for the money given how expensive it is.
E. S. T.
We went there in a big group and with young kids as well. The service was exceptional and my son said he would like to go back there again. Food was awesome and love all the sides especially the mash potatoes and the pumpkins. We also like the fact that they have kids menu as well.
K. D.
The food was amazing, but unfortunately the service was not what I would have expected. We left feeling a little disappointed with the overall experience.
V. S.
Good steaks, good ambience, good service by the waiter and waitresses. The starters and sides were pretty well portioned and tasted good. The bar tender could be a little friendlier.
S. E.
Excellent service. Great food. From appetisers to mains and desserts, everything was spot on. Will definitely be returning.
M. N.
Food is amazing specially the stick and the fish.
Bathroom are clean and the hosts was very nice and friendly.
D. A.
I had an amazing experience in this place in my bday...a good service for me is priceless but when the good food come together is the heaven (from starters to dessert). I had the best steak I could have and the best service too (thank you Vanessa) in a very cozy environment...definitely worth it! #meatlovers
Y. R.
Had a fantastic time here. Friendly services from the moment I entered the restaurant until I left, everyone was very knowledgeable n gave great recommendations, comfortable ambiance, and definitely top-notch quality food (without overly unnecessary complicated menu).
E. C.
Great function. Mat Moran was informative and entertaining. Excellent service. Too much beef. 300g all up would be better.
A. F.
Always a good time here. Great food and ambience.
A. C.
The meal and wine were excellent. My steak was cooked perfectly. The beer list was ordinary but the wine list was good. The service was a little mixed but overall it was ok. Will certainly go back for another steak.
S. B.
Great steak house! On the more expensive side, BUT worth it if you want a great piece of steak :)
M. Z.
My husband and I had a fantastic dinner at the Chophouse. The food was outstanding and the the service very professional. I loved that the waiter was so knowledgeable about the different cuts of meat. The tartare was soooo good! The wagyu steak outstanding and the creme brulee delicious. The only thing I would change was the fact that the sides had to be ordered separately. It just adds to the price and they are over priced! Adding them to the main dish would also help heaps on food presentation. I was not impressed by the way the steaks were served... just a steak on a huge empty plate... It would not add much to the restaurant's costs to add salad and potatoes to the main dish, but it would make a huge difference in the appeal of a dish.
The decor is quite nice too!
Recommended!

We ate here last night (19th September) to celebrate my brother and his girlfriend passing their medical board exam and as well as a farewell to them because they will be leaving SYD the following morning. We were 6 at the table and we had 3 tables joint together for us to fit. The middle table was unbalanced so we asked our server if they have like a paper or stopper to put underneath the table to stop it from wobbling. She said yes. Then when she came back, instead of her doing it, she asked me to do it instead. Food was great though.
L. T.
Cannot thank Gemma enough! She was on the ball since the minute we walked in, polite, friendly and welcoming. She knew her drinks and her food well and also the managers and floor staff congratulated our special occasion with a glass of champagne! Food was exceptional and worth the price!
E. K.
Great dining experience, especially the dry-aged beef and the pasta are very nice. Just a bit too dark inside and the staffs are always busy which takes a longer time to get their attention.
S. Z.
Tasty steak! My medium rare Wagyu Scotch Fillet cooked just right. To me definitely rank within top 3 steak house in Sydney. Ambience not much my taste though.
E. W.
One of my favorite restaurants in Sydney. My friends only swear for the slow cooked ribs. To me, they're too sweet and I much prefer grass fed beef steaks. They're always cooked to perfection and very tasty. Wine wise, the choice is great and you can't really go wrong. Few times we went for the wine on special and was always pleasantly surprised. If it is sunny and can score a table outside, you won't want to get back to work
S. H.
Probably the best steak restaurant in Sydney. Go for an early booking and ask about the specials. Food on the specials menu is usually substantially better than the normal menu. Ask the staff about wine, never gotten a bad recommendation so far.
E. S.
I like this place, the staff are always friendly and the atmosphere buzzy but not too crowded. The menu is as you'd imagine, lots of great steaks, and there are always specials. Try the scallop and pork belly salad; huge as a main or great to share as a side dish for several.
R. L.
Birthday dinner, both cuts we had were delicious. Great for a keto diet!
M. T.
I recently went to the Chop House on Bligh Street, Sydney.
The Steak was OK and fairly tasty, but the sides were very ordinary. Thick Cut Steak Chips were not thick cut and looked and tasted like the McCains variety …

It was totally good experience. Staffs were very nice and friendly. Especially, the food was amazing. I would like to go there one more to have a meal
K. J.
As always a great lunch at Chop House. Awesome food and wine coupled with great service. We take clients here regularly and are never let down.

The food was great and the service very good. Unfortunately, the tables are close together and our meal was spoilt by the loud-mouthed solo diner two tables away who button-holed the couple next to him (on Valentine's!) and made sure that …

Lovely place. Great Customer service the only reason why I am not goving it a 5 it was just that our main took a while to come out. Other than that I would go there again
J. E.
Phenomenal restaurant. The staff is so attentive and nice that it makes the excellent food look bad. Seriously couldn't be any happier going here!
A. L.
Great food and amazing service. I brought my clients here and we had a great time - really good spot to have a professional lunch/dinner.

F. S.
You want top quality steak. You need to come here.
Service is not that fast during lunch times, but seems to a a lot better after 5pm.
Steak cuts and choices are very good indeed
d. s.
Outstanding eating experience!
Took my time to appreciate three stella dishes, all meat, and was not disappointed. The signature pork chop was a stand out, of course. Well worth the effort.
V. C.
Consistently good food and service. One of the best steak houses in Sydney.
D. S.
Excellent quality meats, solid sides and good wine list. Interior design used the space well and suits the menu.
m. p.
Our office had the company function there last two month and the pork chop there is great and the ambience is good and very industrial. But I have to say the cheese selection is not really a good one and the dessert as well. The crowd thgere are pretty cool and well behave, maybe because it is a more high priced place to dine in.
l. s.
The services are just not as good as their food
T. D.
Been here a few times. Good service. The quality of food has recently gone down. They used to have these amazing sauces but didn't put it out the last time I was there.
P. G. S. K.
With its' entrance almost hidden through the weekday, The Chophouse on Bligh St in Sydney is an interesting venue. Spread over 2 levels, this restaurant is a delight to the senses. It does appear a tad expensive when you look over the menu, but the meal is worth it.
J. S.
Loved everything , staff, location, atmosphere, food and the wine 🍷 . I’m always so lazy to write reviews but when I go places that satisfies me 150% then I write a review ❤️
A. Z.
Quite possibly one of the best steaks I've ever had. Priced accordingly but fair. Friendly staff, nice dimly lit vibes.
D. M.
The place has nice atmosphere but the meat is too dry from the bone.
L. W.
Great steak and wine. Zucchini flowers were lovely! Desserts lacked a little edge but otherwise faultless!
T. R.
I've seen a lot of mixed reviews for this place but decided to risk it for a work lunch. Overall it was a good, but not great experience. That may sound a bit harsh, but I do truly mean that it was a good experience and only just lacking those little touches that make it great.
The staff probably could have been a little more attentive and warmer. I got the feeling it may have been a busy lunchtime (we had a late-ish lunc) and you could just see them getting a bit frayed at the edges.
The food- between our table we had the rib-eye, a t-bone and the barramundi along with a few shared sides. The rib-eye was very good, cooked just a shade past where I like it, but I'm pretty fussy like that. Everyone else was happy with theirs. The barramundi looked as though it was cooked perfectly and received some solid praise. The sides were a good size for the 5 of us, the beans cooked perfectly, chips hot and crispy and the mash was rich and creamy- maybe a little bit overworked but still pretty good.
All in all I'd recommend the Chophouse- it's a steakhouse, you know what you're in for. It's a good spot for a work lunch or maybe an occasion with the boys. It's not as pricey as Rockpool or Kingsley's and also not quite as polished, but not too far off the mark.
TL;DR- Good, but not great, in the nicest way possible.
P. G.
The Chophouse is an outstanding restaurant for the meat lovers out there. It looks like an upperclass butchery with utensils hanging from the roof to make sure that you know exactly what the meat has been through before arriving on your plate. A definite must for the steak lovers, but possibly not the best place to take your better half for a date. I would recommend the Spare Rib!
M. H.
A nice set me up for a business lunch
N. W.
Food was amazing! Great for date night or steak and beer with friends.
Staff are friendly and will suggest great steak with lovely wine.
Will go back.
A. W.
Chophouse is our special occasion go to or when we feel like splurging on a luxurious dinner. Rump cap is sensational. We always have the side of mash and green beans which are both perfectly cooked. The malbec is also the perfect red everytime we dine. The service is also on point. Absolutely love this place.

We are definitely repeat offenders here, every time we go to Sydney. Food is fabulous, good range of drinks on tap, got 4 pines and kirin. Wine by glass, carafe and bottle, and some interested looking cocktails. Lose a point on this visit as service a bit slow albeit friendly, and bathroom up stairs with no apparent disabled access
j. e.
Amazing meat! The price is a little bit over the top but if you want to enjoy a good piece of steak this is your place.
R. Y.
Excellent service and atmosphere. I was a bit concerned since it was a steak place that the vegetarian options would be subpar, but the cauliflower schnitzel surprised me with how tasty and filling it was.

I had been hearing about this for almost 2 years before I finally sucked up my courage to face the price tag and eat my share of what I have heard called "the greatest steak in Sydney". I went with a large group as part of an event, and Chophouse, though they were obviously busy were very helpful in accommodating a loud, boisterous group of 16 though we did have to wait at the bar for 15 minutes before our table was ready.
The steak - a medium rare slab of Delmonco (priced at a hefty $49.9 - far from Starbar with their $7 steaks!) was beautifully cooked, appropriately rare, and great just by itself with salt. As a group we shared sides of fries and buttered beans - the fries were crisp and thin (a la McDonalds) and the beans fresh. I did however find their harrissa (came with the steak) disappointing, and the clientele were primarily white collar boy's clubs - making for a upbeat, if a little loud dining environment later on into the night.
The wine list was extensive, and the bartenders were very helpful in helping an uninitiated wino pick a very nice tipple to complement my meal. The waitress, however, was a little heavy on the upselling.

Dining at Chophouse is an experience to treat yourself to. The atmosphere is created as soon as you walk in. A lot of polished wood, plush leather booths and spacious tables deck out the two levels of Chophouse. We slid into a booth and then started with a cocktail each. Their twist on the negroni was full flavoured and delicious. The pineapple coconut sour was refreshing and not too sweet.
For meals we let the house decide as we were having trouble choosing - and we are glad we did. We split an entree of oysters dressed three ways. This was coupled with figs filled with prosciutto, goats curd and balsamic dressing with a sprinkle of almonds. Both of these dishes were light - flavoured well and a great start to the night. The figs were a special and not found on the usual menu, however, ask the friendly staff about what is on offer when you dine.
For mains we had a meat board. You honestly can not go to a place called Chophouse and not order some of the great meats they have on offer. We tried the double double lamb chops - 2 x the chops with a traditional mint jelly. The meat was succulent and the mint jelly was a perfect consistency. On the other side of the board was the pasture feed tenderloin. This was grilled perfectly and was a nice juicy pink on the inside. The cafe de paris sauce and the jus matched these meats to a tee. The sides of green peas and ricotta and the potato purée were standouts in their own right. The pea and ricotta salad with crispy kale was a nice texture change from the meat of the board and the ricotta was delicious. The potato purée is a favourite for the staff here and I can see why - buttery, full flavoured and a perfect pair to the meat on the board. There were so many options to choose from on this menu that you are sure to find something that will suit your tastes.
Dessert was spectacular. We tried the chophouse chocolate bar. Lindt chocolate melted down and infused with both hazelnut and Nutella makes for one of the creamiest and most mouth watering chocolate bars of my life. The sea salt shavings on top just enhances that hazelnut flavour. This is a must! A must! We also devoured the popcorn brittle semifreddo with salted caramel - cool, fluffy and flavours that will leave you even more satisfied than you felt after the mains.
Chophouse has an amazing staff and Robyn the manager will make sure that your visit is one to remember and repeat. They are knowledgable and passionate about their product and well worth their suggestions. If you are thinking this might be the perfect place for an event you can book out the upstairs room which holds 30-40 people and would make for a special atmosphere. I also have it on good authority that if it's your birthday you get a free dessert!

Great food for meat eaters. Excellent wine list
Good for business meeting as not noisy especially the booths. Loved the rustic decor
B. Y.
Food was fantastic - a bit pricier but the meats were very tender. However, we were pretty disappointed with the service. Staff were rude and slow. Apart from that, it's a really nice and ambient place.
H. J.
Such a great steak experience. Would definitely come back again
C. M. L.
First thing you'd notice is the furry wall, and yes you can touch it :) anyway, good food and decent portions. i think there was a good variety of grass fed / grain fed (steaks), a bit on the pricey side but yummy nonetheless. worth trying

Please excuse the pun for a title but it was just too apt. The chophouse is situated on Bligh St in the City, down towards Circular Quay. This carniverous dream is surrounded by some pretty serious competition, but holds its own offering excellent service and quality meal choices. This is an upmarket grill is set up in a building that once housed a cinema. The interior is layered with nicely set tables, a stylish bar and decorated with butchery antiques such as scales, chopping blocks etc.
The drink menu had many great options including apertifs, cocktails, mocktails, wine, digestif's. We tried a few cocktails the Tropical Blush - ketel one, Liquor 43, peach bitters, passionfruit, grapefruit, a nice fruity cocktail. The Tokyo mule - tokinoka, gekkeikan sake, yuzu, ginger beer, nori. This one was impressive, great flavours and nicely balanced.
For entrees we tried the charcuterie with amazing cured meats including wagyu bresola, n'duja tradizional, capocolo, served with pickles, mustard fruit and house made lavosh and crutons was the goods.
The figs served with speck/jamon, goats curd and almond another great starter with great flavour combinations.
For sides to accompany our mains the meaty porkbelly and scallop salad, with wombok, corriander, pea shoots, tendrils, soba noodles and a mushroom vinigairette was huge. The decadent creamy mash, so bad but sooo good.
For mains the slow cooked Beef rib in a house made BBQ sauce was butter, melt in your mouth tender. I absolutely loved this and kept wanting more. The wagyu 6+ rump cap was perfectly cooked served with heirloom tomatoes and choice of condiments.
If you still have room or even if not, and if you're a chocolate fan, the choclate bar made from milk and dark chocolate with hazel nuts and nutella is a must.
Thanks to the chophouse for their amazing food and hospitality iàn particular Robyn the manager who was one of the best front of house staff we have had the pleasure of meeting.
chophouse makes the cut.

We waited 75 minutes on Friday night for a table for 6 that was expected in 45 minutes, and whilst the Irish wait staff were pleasant and attentive, the food, by and large, was very poor. I had a dry aged steak for $50 which was probably the worst steak I have ever eaten. It was medium not medium rare as ordered, dry, tough, chewy and sinuey. An $80 800gram steak dish for 2 to share was no more than 400grams at the most (including a 200gram bone) . The sprouts were tasty but were cremated not chargrilled. The mashed potato was over worked and was like glue... a beginner's mistake. According to one of our party, an expert in ice cream production, the home made ice-cream was of poor quality with over large ice crystals. We were told the home made chocolate was melted down Lindt chocolate bars with nuts added and re-set -hardly home made. Pretty ordinary experience really. Won't be going back.
R. B.
One of the best resteraunts I've ever eaten at. The food was fantastic and the service was amazing. Will defiantly return. Thank you chop house for an amazing night !
S. H.
Absolutely love this place ..........!!!!!
Great food, fantastic staff, excellent service, nice ambience, relaxing atmosphere and food presentation. Been here so many times, never been let down. Keep up the great work guys!! 5 stars***** highly recommend to anyone who has not tried.
M. S.
Dinner was amazing as was there service. We even got some suggestions from the head chef which was great. Will certainly be back
R. S.
Like meat?
You'll love this place!
great decor -excellent attentive service - extensive wine list
but best of all the meat! expertly cooked, wide range of cuts cooked to perfection
try the wagyu!
J. K.
Food was great. Service was not so great. Water was not topped up, waiter seemed rushed to take my order and did not get all of my order out and decided to make decisions such as sauce and meat doneness herself. Seamed boarderline arrogant and was kind of hostile.
A. W.
Great food and great atmosphere. One of the best steaks. I've had in a while been hanging out for a good steak since the perth chophouse shut down.
L. W.
Great dry aged t-bone, great red wine jus. Just one bad point - the chimichurri was blended to a paste, unlocking a lot of overly green flavours. We tried it and immediately put it to one side. Everything else was just right for a mid-week indulgence.
J. K.
great service and great signature tomahawk!
can be a bit pricey as this one is charged per 100g but its worth it.
J. B.
We enjoyed our experience at Chophouse. Good food and attentive service. We had the special $69 summer menu and left very full.
J. O.
The steaks were excellent and the service was very good. We enjoyed the drinks and the sides, too. They were quite welcoming of our toddler.
T. B.
A reasonable steakhouse. Slightly overpriced for the quality of steak, but service and food is good.
A. L.
Expensive, but great for a special occasion or an important meeting. We went with an industry friend when we were visiting Sydney and had the best steak that we had in Australia, great wine, and excellent vegetables.
K. J.
As always a great lunch at Chop House. Awesome food and wine coupled with great service. We take clients here regularly and are never let down.
P. H.
Excellent service and a bloody brilliant steak. Worth the price.
J. V. O. V.
Thanks for everything! my friends and I had a wonderful dinner!
They offered a nice dessert as a birthday cake to my friend!
Food was delicious and service just perfect !
s. t.
I Loved the Double Lamb so much and the fresh Oyster
And the Environment is perfect for celebrating anniversary with someone's or gathering
Will come back for try others steak
Excellent service
V.
The atmosphere is great and waiters were friendly. For the price though, the steak wasn’t as impressive as I hoped.
J. D.
Went to chophouse for a birthday. Everything you want for a meateater. Service is very friendly and helpful with specials. Very knowledgable staff. Cocktails are very tasty. Espresso Martini is a must. Meat is sourced from all over australia. One of the better steakhouses in Sydney.
E. L.
Pretty cool place for drinks in this part of the city. Great friendly service and chatter from the young Californian waitress. Kinda pricey, but they put up with my toddler so I'm happy to pay for the privilege.
P. C.
My compliments to the chef, rib eye steak from Gippsland flavourful and melts in your mouth. Will be back to tackle the Tomahawk! 5/5
A. H.
Amazing food, great staff. A bit too loud to actually enjoy the meal fully, but still worth it. Just don't take a date if you want to talk.
A. B.
Delicious food, great service. They have taken the time to provide amazing vegetarian options, which is all the more impressive considering it is a steakhouse.
a. w.
Great service. Fantastic steak. Great wine list.
V.
Always good quality and delicious steaks here! Had one sour experience but management handled it very well. Very willing to come back.
K. M.
I had the beef tenderloin with potato purée, cafe de paris and jus. It was absolutely outstanding! My partner and I spend our 5 year anniversary here and everything about it from the service to the food was faultless. Highly recommended. 5/5.
J. R.
The steak here is excellent, with a fantastic local wine list. I really love the decor and the service was also very good. I would definitely recommend the FD1 Wagyu striploin with a good bottle of Henschke.
C. C.
The menu has changed significantly since we last visited a few years ago. Missed the devilled scotch eggs and ribs!
D. W.
Always good steaks, friendly and attentive service. Good wine too, available by glass, carafe and bottle. Definitely returning.
J. B.
Delicious food for a reasonable price.
Been here twice now, speedy service, food doesn't take long and everything on the menu is worth feasting on, but the best by far would be the back straps.
Worth your time and money
A. L.
Great food and amazing service. I brought my clients here and we had a great time - really good spot to have a professional lunch/dinner.
N. V.
Excellent faultless service a exquisite beef with true flavour and tenderness thankyou Chophouse team great job :)
M. C.
Beautiful food. Wagyu nuggets was so nice. They cooked steaks perfectly. Great service too.
C. B.
Had the striploin as the rump cap wasn't available but was absolutely delicious. All the sides we ordered were tasty.
A. D.
Food was really good. Atmosphere was really nice for dinner. It doesn't get too loud. Consider booking for dinners as it gets really busy after 7:00pm
V. C.
Was delicious and well priced. Five star service. Their beef nuggets and chocolate block were the highlights for me!!
O. S.
Good service. I liked the dry age sirloin.
'unlimited table water' cost $10 so I deducted a star for that.
J. T.
went a few months ago - very nice steak (a very quality cut) and the mash superb
J. W.
Came here on a Friday night during the holidays and it was very quiet yet we had to poor our own wine. Stereotypical steakhouse, probably why so many go out of business...
I. I.
Excellent steak, quality meat treated well. Sides were good and service was friendly and helpful
C. M. (.
Went for a drink and tried their sticky beef bar snack menu. Really good! Nice ambience and friendly people
J. B.
Alright burgers and fries, but a nice atmosphere.
J. E.
Phenomenal restaurant. The staff is so attentive and nice that it makes the excellent food look bad. Seriously couldn't be any happier going here!
A.
This is a shrine and testament to all things steak. Slabs of meat cooked to your choice of taste (obviously, we choose medium rare and the choice is but a formality). Each steak has a backstory available (the farm it was raised on). Lastly, this place has wooden spotlights. Pure. Class.
Eat here once in a while to appreciate what a real steak is like.
Try the Ghost Chilli sauce if you are into machoism.
L. Y.
Pleasant service, great meat and well decorated modern interior.
P. C.
The steak was too too too salty. And the mixed salad Salty too. Bottle of water was saving me.
B. C.
The fillet is amazing, it's just unbelievable how they can prepare and cook meat to taste just brilliant. Service is to match, top notch
J. M. S.
Great atmosphere and easily accessible via public transport. Fabulous steaks and lovely sides. Would definitely visit again.
H. O.
Give the tomahawk steak a go; a mammoth 1.5-1.8kg t-bone, best cooked medium!! The chimichurri sauce is a good complement!! Also order the portobello mushroom side!!
J. L.
Good. LORD.This was the best food I have ever had. Plus, ran into Osha Ginsburg which was cool. Go, eat, drink and pass out when the bill comes.
김.
It was totally good experience. Staffs were very nice and friendly. Especially, the food was amazing. I would like to go there one more to have a meal
M.
Really delicious steak, yum corn with Chipotle and great service, though it seemed like each of the dishes we choose were their favorite! Or maybe they are!
L. B.
Good service but not sure if my scotch fillet was worth the 47 bucks (asked for medium rare but came out rare, and too much gristle and fat on the meat)....
G. M.
Great service, excellent food and well priced. Just got a little loud to hear in general area when full attendance. All round great time
F. A.
Amazing steak and friendly service. The atmosphere was intimate with the warm lighting and upstairs seating.
E. A.
Great atmosphere, good wine, and fantastic steak. Been here a few times now and can't recommend it highly enough.
A.
Fantastic steak, right up there with the best! Staff are welcoming and casual atmosphere, great place for impromptu lunch!
T. Z.
Great corporate lunch/dinner place. If you want good steak and food there are better options nearby but restaurant atmosphere and service are fantastic.
t.
Omg, what a steak 🥩! Perfect.
S. R.
Sensational steak and the best decor I’ve been to a long while !
Wait staff know what to suggest and converse with chefs prior to selection and way to cook.

J. B.
Quality steak. Good wine list. 5 star dining in a relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended.
J. P.
One of my favorite steak houses
P. F.
Excellent steaks and good atmosphere. Make sure you make a booking as it does get very busy in the evenings.
d. p.
Good ambience, service with a smile and good knowledge of the wine list. It's an expensive steak but very tasty
J. Q.
Good service and nice cold meat platter, but the steak was disappointing. No char at all, like it was cooked on a home electric stove.
E. W.
Had a strange salad here. My steak was not tender or flavorsome which was disappointing as I've visited before and enjoyed it much more, although that was a couple of years ago.
P. B.
Great food. Beautifully-cooked steak!
M. P.
Its gone downhill and nowhere near the best steak place in Sydney which is a shame. The meat is quality but the kitchen is letting it down
b. l.
This place is sensational, the dry aged sirloin was to die for. The service was also on point with very friendly staff. Shout out to Jemma, for providing an awesome experience!!
s. w.
Food was delicious and the service was fantastic, can’t fault this place & will definitely be back.
T. N.
Very nice steak. Food is fantastic. Good service. No complaints.
M. S.
Taken here by ine if our suppliers. Perfect for a client lunch. I had the pork chop which was great. A little on the pricey side.
A. B.
Great place to enjoy a nice juicy steak. All they are missing is a range of organic red wine.
N. C.
I was expecting much more from a place dedicated to steak... Too expensive for the quality received.
Service was good, on the other hand.
W. L.
One of the better steak houses in Sydney catering towards the less touristy crowd. Worth a visit if you love your meat!
R. J.
This place is great. Very handy if working in the CBD. Good little beer garden out front basically on Bligh st which also has table service.
C. O.
Great place to have a good steak with friends or co workers. Make sure you also try the pork and scallops salad
L. W.
Great food and service. Nice fitout. So much on the menu I want to try I’ll need to come back again
K. M.
Great food and service. We were celebrating a birthday and the birthday girl was given a wonderful suprise. Will go back.
E. P.
Lovely place. Great Customer service the only reason why I am not goving it a 5 it was just that our main took a while to come out. Other than that I would go there again
T. F.
I can go home and remember this tasty dining experience. Great Food, Great Staff, Great live Music, Great Wine, Great Specials.
Go and Enjoy! A must!
J.
Get the steak tartar, cauliflower gratin, and wagyu rump cap (MB8+, and when done medium rare it's crispy on the outside and tender on the inside with a strong flavour).
P. M.
One of the best restaurants in Sydney.
High quality meat, excellent wines and well priced.
P.
Does what it should do very well a great steak. The sourdough you have with the meal is also fantastic.
B. H.
Crumbed porkchop - yes please.
What a great place for meat lovers.
Staff is friendly - live music during the week - great location.

K. C.
Great place to dine the best steak in Sydney. Great service and good knowledge of their product.
S. L.
Great quality steak. Pricing can be considered expensive but the high pries are a reflection of the quality of meat you receive.
J. T.
Amazing, amazing. Always visit when I am in Sydney. The belly pork is to die for. And great wine and beer choices
N. C.
One of the best steaks I have ever eaten! Would recommend
C. M.
Fantastic food and drinks at Chophouse, thoroughly enjoyed their cocktails and wine selection, and staff were attentive and helpful

Good food if you like meat. Sides are ok too, especially the cauliflower!
A bit expensive though

Amazing choice of steaks but a bit slow on the service. Recommended: Wagyu steak, pork crackling.
H. S.
Amazing place with delicious food - definitely one of the best steakhouses in Sydney and Australia!

Very very good and a great wine selection. But you have to be careful when ordering!
B. S.
great food and service as always. top end for price but we enjoyed it
C. L.
Awesome food, and great service. Go for the Tomahawk Steak. Will come back!
G. O.
Excellent service...but for steak/meat specialists a medium steak should be medium (not rare) and a medium steak shouldn't be medium rare.
K. B.
I was here with a large group so we had a set menu. Both the food and the service were on point.
s. y.
steak is perfect all the time and menu changes almost fortnightly. their chocolate is the best!!
M. K.
Came here on my birthday the night and food was amazing such a romantic vibe and the staff were loveley will definitely be back

Food and service was phenomenal. We went there twice on our trip to Sydney it was so good.
S. J. P. K.
They helped my family have the best wedding anniversary ever. Great food and friendly staff!!!
A. M.
Goood, little pricey. However staff were rude, they did not acknowledge we were there and did not even say thank you as we left. We went on a work day so not many people were present.
C. W.
The staff were really nice. Ambient lighting. Great steak.
Z. G.
Food was excellent, serving sizes were adequate. Price was high but not unexpected.
A. L.
Fantastic dry sirloin and salad :) the lamb is ok but not as good as dry sirloin
