Comments of Hugos Manly
D. T.
We drove from the eastern suburbs to Manly for a sneaky snorkel and we knew we have to eat at Hugo’s, and we were lucky enough to get a table for two without any bookings on a fine afternoon! The food and service are amazing, we got the usual croquettes, kingfish sashimi and crispy polenta to start, then a delicious fig and pancetta pizza to finish off our beautiful lunch.
N. S.
It's always a pleasure coming here. Great customer service, happening vibe and there is more than just pizza.
T. M.
Service and food is always lovely. It’s a relaxing vibe with great attention given to customers. My only “bugbear” as someone who is allergic to fish and seafood and has been frequenting Hugo’s often is that I miss the specials that the Chef would put on a paper menu.
S. B.
Went for a late lunch and the place was still full & no one seemed too perturbed there was a Tsunami warning from the Tonga volcano. Food was good, the coffee excellent, the staff were attentive, the views gorgeous. Their afternoon menu is smaller than the lunch version so our fish and chips was provided as a takeaway as it was only available after 5pm and at a hefty price of $46 (Sunday surcharge) it did not disappoint.

A good place to celebrate for a birthday lunch. The place is nice and the waiters did a good job. The gnocchis were really good but I do not recommend the pizzas at all. I was really disappointed for a place that has received awards. The tiramisu was really good and we were offered some ice creams which were good.
M. S. (.
Great pizza, location and venue.
The pizzas that we had were great (Pork belly pizza and lamb pizza). They had a lovely thin crust, fresh ingredients and no excess cheese, so they tasted delicious and didn't leave us with a heavy, fatty feeling.
S. M.
Attentive staff and a great list of suggested cocktails make this an unmissable spot on the harbour side of Manly.
K. R.
The service in this restaurant is impeccable! The waitresses and waiters are so attentive and friendly! The chicken was delicious and as a Scottish person I must say, the black pudding was better than I remember having at home!
I would have like the chicken portion to be larger or at least served with a side of some substance, as my friend had 2 starters which were larger than my main meal but half the price...
There is an extensive cocktail menu and they are prepared to a high standard. I loved the coconut daiquiri 🥥
The views are lovely, particularly for sunset and I would recommend this restaurant for a nice dinner, for a birthday or slightly special occasion.

My history with The Hugo’s were way back, start at Kings cross. It was always fun at The Hugo’s. I have visited the one in Manly couple of time in the past couple years. My girl friend and I went there randomly two weeks ago as after lockdown celebration. It was quite late at night, Manly was full of young adults and everywhere has intensive queues. The Hugo’s gives us a space feels sophisticated and welcome. My hill was broken and they did above and beyond to help me. The cocktails was delicious and the view was super amazing. A great way to end our amazing night.

My gf and I haven’t been for ages...
Decided to give it a try after so many years.
You know what? It’s still very good.
Restaurant with a lovely view, great service an d fab food. Need I say more??😝👌

Excellent service, excellent food and excellent view!! We ordered the Tasting Plate, Crispy Polenta Chips, Raw Yellowfin Tuna, and Duo of Croquettes. Everything was on spot and delicious! Lucy and Steve were very attentive and served us with perfection.
I. A.
Wonderful meal, wonderful attentive wait staff, and a wonderful view. Right next to where the Manly Ferries dock. Early evening sitting with the sun setting, it was such a nice place to be for a few drinks and dinner.
M. D.
Beautiful dinner gorgeous food, breathtaking water views and good good music. Only let down was my oysters were far too small could barely see them. $5 per oyster is too expensive for the size. The CBD has large oysters for $4.
z. w.
Great view and location, but food is not recommended, we had Trout, Tuna pasta and squid ink linguine, spaghetti, all too salty!
V. H.
Oh, Yes! Finally...
This place was recommended to us and truly pleasantly surprised. Among other "posh" Manly restaurants, this one finally has something to offer. The staff is well trained, efficient and makes you feel special and the overall experience memorable. The menu is reasonably set for the location, food fresh and well presented.
Thank you again, team. It's great to see the service like this finally meets the European / US standards. See You soon...
E. W.
Nice vibe. grilled butter prawn is my favorite. pizza always perfectly cooked. million view from the table.
G. G.
Great food and stunning waterside location - like many venues at the moment they are struggling with staff but be patient and you will be rewarded with a memorable meal
H. W.
Lovely amazing view and amazing service Lucy
Was so amazing and kind keep topping up my drinks and food was so yummy and Nutella pizza was so amazing
Thanks for a wonderful valentines Dinner we enjoy it
T. T.
This was an amazing place to eat with ambience, great service and fabulous food. We had to wait (at the bar - what a shame 😜) for a table with a great view. We were told it would be about 20 - 30 minutes. Table was ready in 10. Expensive but worth it and there was nothing that could be faulted. Loved it and highly recommend it for a drink, a special occasion or just be because you want to be waited on in style!!
C. “.
Amazing!!
fresh and delicious seafood and really good cocktails.
J. K.
One of my favourite dining spots in Sydney. Always great quality food with lots of options and nice service. Watch the beautiful sunset over the ocean as you enjoy your dinner. Amazing!
T. F.
Great food and drinks ~ especially the strawberry daiquiri!! It’s very busy though, noisy, but oh so worth it, lovely at sunset!!!
J. C.
I can’t praise the staff enough. We went for dinner on my wife’s birthday. We brought a little cake however there was an extra charge if we eat the cake. Then we decided to take it home and we were too full anyway. But the nice gentleman (sorry I can’t remember his name) who looked after all the time gave us a free dessert and even a candle! It was really nice and we didn’t expect that. Thank you! Plus the view, food and environment is very good as well!
O. D.
Excellent Italian gourmet restaurant and pizzeria. It is located on the ferry pier and has a splendid view of the water.
There are many seafood specialties - everything we tried was very tasty. Service is fast and very good.
I recommend it.
S. B.
The service here was average. The host was not the friendliest and it took a while for us to even get the attention of a server to order. The food was pretty good. I had a tuna with angel hair. I did not like that the tuna was dressed but that is likely just a perdonal preference. The pizza was a much better choice.
S. P.
Great pizza and food. Amazing views. Expensive
Back again . Been awhile . There is so many staff that you don't have to wait long to order food and to re order drinks. Again and again lol. This time we had three courses. All fantastic. And the view is second to none . Sydney harbour never gets old. It's not cheap but worth every cent. If I had the money I would eat here every week and more.
G. L.
Very nice lunch. Food was a bit pricy (but hey this is Australia) but really good, waitress and Manager did an excellent job. Surrounding is so nice. I recommend to anyone around to enjoy a meal.there
B. F.
Sensational location, food and service. The squid ink pasta was one of the best seafood dishes I've had. Highly recommended.
J. X.
I went to Hugos Manly with my mates yesterday, it was an absolutely awesome experience. We were seated at the best table on the balcony with a 360 degree of beautiful views.
I wont comment much on the food, the view already earned a 5 star.
I highly recommend make a booking before you go and try your best to secure the corner table on the balcony!!!!!!
M. T.
Lovely restaurant on Manly Wharf with great views (even on a winter evening), delicious pizzas, and friendly service. They run a great deal during the winter with half priced pizzas on certain evening (Mon-Wed) and booking times (5:30, 6, 8, and 8:30). The cocktails are always awesome and they have a fantastic mulled wine for winter.
A. C.
Wonderful pizza and views. Friendly staff. A must do when in Manly- just a 15 min fast ferry eide from Sydney
I. T.
Great place to sit down and watch the sunset while having great food. kingfish carpaccio has to be my favourite and the lamb pizza is delicious as well. The lychee me drink is perfect after a day at the beach
L. C.
Amazing food and amazing views. We had a young waiter to start off with and he was fantastic. Very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Towards the end of the night we were moved from inside the restaurant to outside right next to the water. The views improved but the service quickly went down hill. The lady serving us was rude and uninterested. When it came to paying the bill we explained this to the manager who welcomed our comments and feedback.
Overall we had a fantastic experience and it would be a shame to mark the restaurant down due to one minor incident
M. D.
Great spot for a gals group lunch. Good food better vibe. Good banquet option plenty of food
S. F. S.
Delicious food and delicious staff are the order of the day at this gaff. Was recommended the Barramundi and it was delicious. Blueberry cheesecake was demolished in seconds. Lively but polite clientele. Lovely sea views. Clean bogs. Staff were exceptional at topping up the water without being intrusive. Found room for us for lunch despite no reservation and the fact they were clearly banged out, then arranged for us to stay longer by moving tables (to a better one). Thoroughly recommend, would definitely go back. In fact I think the only reason this ain't a five star is coz that Barramundi definitely needed a side with it.
C. A.
Great view and overall dining experience.
B. C.
Came here two days in a row..Chorizo pizza and Kingfish Carpaccio both amazing. Fried calamari was fresh and delicious. Roasted cauliflower - surprisingly yummy.
C. B.
Awesome venue with great views. Extensive menus with really delicious meals. Only thing is the service was a bit slower than acceptable, but it was during the busy Easter weekend... I’d come back again :)
N. M.
It is great place! Food is all simple but tastes great, the dessert are very nice, I must admin! Definitely try the Nutella pizza. Good service and very correctly priced. They have a love little terrace as well but make reservations as it is extremely popular and a full house most of the time.
B. C.
Great location and fair value food. Pizzas are delicious
Very limited drinks menu
J. R.
Elegance and a scene, this location is directly next to the ferries. You look over the beach and have a high end experience of cuisine. The views are impressive and the food very good.
Always feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @joerazz
B. S.
Really nice. Chorizo pizza is my favourite pizza in Sydney.
But don’t get the pumpkin gnocchi, unless you look at the pictures here and know EXACTLY what you are ordering.
Meatballs also good as entree.
J. S.
Went here on a very windy Saturday afternoon. The pizzas were stunning - especially the vegetarian pizza my friend ordered. Coffee was good.
I was too shy to try the fish and chips that my friend ordered, but in hindsight I should have not held back. Would have saved some calories as that would have meant I ate one less pizza slice.
S. L.
Fabulous buzz. Excellent service. Great food. Wonderful night. Highly recommended.
C. M.
Very lovely spot in Manly. Food is delicious and be sure to book in early if you want a spot near the water/ with a view.
H. Y. K.
Came here for drinks on a Sunday afternoon. The place was packed and buzzing. Was arranged a window facing table which was great as we got to see the water and watch the ferries come and go. Cocktails were delicious but a bit on the pricier side, service was average and slightly snobby.
s. F.
Beautiful location in Manly, on the bay. We shared a bottle of wine and the pepperoni pizza. It was absolutely delicious. We had the affogato for dessert and it was really delicious. Have us an afternoon boost. I would highly recommend this spot.
Y. G.
Great taste food with cocktail and after lunch drink. Highly recommended place to enjoy the view and food, drink~
K. v. d. M.
Had a set menu with a shared entree, about 6 different pizzas and a dessert. Highly recommended all the pizza were amazing and the staff were lovely. 😀
M.
Absolutely superb.
Attentive and conscientious service, comfortable seating and acoustics, and the food.. Oh my. Everything was cooked to perfection with a palette balance that goes as delicate as you please. (Try the oysters!!)
Couldn't be happier that I landed there after the One Fine Baby Sydney expo, and looking forward to dropping in again.
Just remember to book in advance, and that a water view / window sill is not guaranteed.
K. A.
Good food and drinks. Clean and tidy with a nice fit-out. Sat by the window which was good as it was a sunny day. Seems always busy on weekends so not sure if it will work for larger groups. Service was ok but felt a bit rushed as we had about 45 minutes to finish our food/drinks before the next booking.
T. B.
Went for dinner and the place is nice and lounge ! Very appreciable we got a pizza and the barramundi and it was really good ! Got some italian wine and it was good too !
I definitly recommend this restaurant if you want a good moment in peace !
A. M.
Delicious! Very attentive staff, quick service and food quality is great.
A. D.
Great place just off the ferry to Manly. Originally a pizza place but they offer much more. The in crowed comes to lunch and dine here so make sure you look good. Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc and sunset view, amazing!
D. H.
I have literally dined here 100’s of times as I adore this place so much! It’s my go to favourite place in Sydney! Literally never fails on food, drinks, service, ambience, location and fun!! The vibe is always fab! The staff are unfailingly professional amd lovely and the food is always consistently great! Going again next week (i dine here on average at least once a month) and we are all super excited for our family catch up! Hugo’s you only get better with age and experience!! 💚💙💛
T. B.
Favourite restaurant, great atmosphere, services is fantastic, always fun.
j. h.
delicious food or a great spot for a drink. mains don't come with sides, these need to be ordered in addition. can't beat the views, staff extremely professional and friendly.
I. S.
Great view and a great menu! Do try out the pizzas!
J. R.
Amazing food and drinks. Very cheerful and nice staff. Big thanks to our waiter Carlos - what a great service!
P. O.
Hugo's is the perfect place and this was the perfect day for a long lunch watching the world go by...and the iconic Manly ferry's (Freshwater class of course).
Pizza is superb as is the Angel Hair pasta.
E. F.
Excelente venue by the beach! Extensive menu, beautiful starters and mains! Big portions as well. The staff was outstanding with their service. The only
Thing that caught my attention was that the female waiters were dressed very differently from the male waiters. It look like they’re been sexualised with their uniform. I hope the uniform choice is personal and not an imposition from the venue.
D. G.
Had the pleasure of dining here as part of a Christmas part and the experience was awesome. All their staff were welcoming and we were looked after by Roberto and he made us feel right at home and looked after the whole group. The food is great, cooked well and full of flavours. Their menu caters for many tastes and their drinks menu also had a lot of choice.
Been a while since i ate such a nicely cooked steak the wife had one of the best barramundi in a while
Will be back for sure
A. K.
It's very rare to find a water front restaurant with killer/postcard views that actually serves decent food n doesn't depend purely on its realestate as a selling point. Hugos is one of those pleasant exceptions. Fresh, flavorsome, delicious dishes from a fun n varied menu backed up by a great wine selection n hands down some of the best cocktails in town. They follow this up with a very high staff to patron ratio, an incredibly polite friendly crew n a very fast service. It is truly an iconic spot, our favourite wknd lunch hang out, n one of the first places we bring friends from out of town/overseas. Very special place
S. B.
Fantasic location and menu. My favorite spot in Sydney! The fish dishes are great. Amazing mocktails!
M. -. M.
The best view ever!
The sealife around Hugo's is incredible.
I've been at Hugo's and saw dolphins, one of the little pinguïns and recently there was even a whale passing by.
Always great service and the best cocktails!! I can highly recommend the mango-coconut daiquiri.
P. L.
Good food, including very nice pizza... and friendly staff. Best thing though was the cocktails. The lemon one with the meringue on top was one of the best ones I've ever had!
D.
Awesome on every level.
We casually walked in and managed to secure the last table for lunch on a Sunny Sunday. The views are to die for, the food is to die for, the service is to die for, the waitresses are to die for.. Amazing on every level. Can’t wait to come back here, I think we just found our favourite local!!
R. H.
Very lovely restaurant at Manly Beach with nice steaks, seafood and large selection of fine wines. Wonderful atmosphere at a sunset..
D. J.
You can't beat this place on a Sunny day for a long lunch. Even during winter the sun and the harbour make the view fantastic and the pizza is pretty good as well.
C. A.
Amazing food and service.
I should also commend the waitress, Sam, who brought out our food. She was exquisite, and an extremely friendly demeanor which I will always remember.
🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
J. W.
My favourite restaurant in Manly which has great food, drinks, service and staff.
The seafood platter and pizzas are amazing so I am always taking friends and family there on the weekends.
V. T.
Awesome italian restaurant. I had Ham – double smoked leg ham with mushrooms, ricotta & balsamic reduction, tomato base and Spaghettini pasta with Queensland Spanner crab, sun-dried tomatoes, chilli, garlic, coriander & eschalot 👍🏻
N. B.
The food and the view are amazing ! And the staff always thoughtful. Definitely the place to go in Manly ;)
S. B.
I’m trying to think of the appropriate way to say thank you to Hugo’s for providing such a fabulous experience with such consistency. The food, the staff, the quality that they continually provide to those of us who are lucky enough to be part of their offering is truly something to be thankful for. Our appreciation of Hugo’s at Manly cannot be understated. Our recommendation is for any and all to make a date to be there ASAP for the best there is in hospitality, service, food and friendly service.
L. S.
Good quality, shame about the price increase upon new management. Unnecessary as prices were already $$$$$.
C. P.
Absolutely my favourite restaurant 😍. The staff are always gorgeous, friendly and helpful and the service and food are consistently excellent. The surprise complimentary scoop of 🍦 ice cream after lunch yesterday was a lovely touch. Thank you Hugos!! ❤️💫👌🏼
L. S.
We had dinner on a Monday evening, it was reasonably quite.
What was good - food, view, options of drinks, atmosphere. We ordered mains and desert and were satisfied with the quality and the quantity.
Not so good - customer service was very bad, rate this 1 out 5. All their waitresses were young and clueless on acknowledging or providing any customer service. This is a reflection of the management and training team. If you want to have repeat business, train your people.
Overall experience, OK nothing to shout out about. We are Manly locals so probably not going again.
t. m.
After a long hot trek from Spit to Manly, Hugos was a perfect end to a wonderful day. A perfect setting overlooking the water to chill out and enjoy a wonderful lunch. We opted to sit inside (it is an open air restaurant so you still got a gorgeous view and lovely breeze) instead of the area lining the water (stools without backs) since we wanted more comfortable seating. Once seated it was a while for someone to come over and take our orders, service was just so so. As far as the food. The best margerita pizza ever, thin thin crust just the way it should be. And the fish and chips was excellent also. A great place to recharge before heading back to Sydney.
A.
Service was unbelievably good. Food was amazing, drinks superb and the location is perfect. Major thanks to our waitress Vitoria who made our afternoon at Hugo's amazing. Definitely will come back.
T. C.
Great views. Right next to Manly ferry station. Good food and atmosphere.
N. J.
Had my bday with my husband here.
Maya was my waitress for the evening and the the food amazing but she made my night even better. Means alot to come to a venue that also cares abt their food but also the service also is 5 star and lovely.
Thank you so much
I also,
S. S.
You expect the overpriced cheap tourist food because of the great view. Instead you get amazing fresh seafood and amazing local Aussie product. The cocktails are pretty amazing as well.
Go early so you can get a booking/ bookings are limited so if you are planning to walk in get there really early!
Great as a lunch venue as you get to enjoy the view during the day but you are protected from the sun.
B.
Service is impeccable and I mean it. They really look after you. Always watching your table and keen to help. Food is highly consistent with so many enjoyable dishes. Seafood is a blast of succulence. The view is lovely. Watching the ferries come and go. You can actually feel them arrive sometimes as they vibrate the warf. Had had many enjoyable experiences here but be prepared to pay for the pleasure. Super recommended for a romantic date.
p. R.
Not to be missed, amazing place but the service is even better and will transform your experience. Mick is a star!
L. R.
I love Hugos for the location - watching the ferries go in and out, while eating delicious food and having a cocktail or two. I have been going there for years, in both large and small groups. Food is consistent (slightly on the expensive side but happy to pay for the location). I did not give the restaurant 5 Stars because there is one area in which it lacks... the attitude of management is consistently arrogant and at times rude. I have experienced this personally on 4 or 5 occasions, and had friends complaining of the same thing.
C. J.
Undoubtedly the “BEST” pizzas in the “WORLD”! World class pizzas and a view to die for. Consistently amazing cuisine, view, and 6 star service.
T. K.
I had to organise a dinner venue for a group of 11 last Saturday night & although you can't book on a Saturday, I thought I'd risk it as I thought Hugo's would be the best spot. We only had to wait max half an hour for a table (had drinks at the bar while we waited) & had such a great night! Perfect location (great view of the ferries & sunset), lovely patient staff, great pizzas & many a drink with friends from overseas. Big thank you Hugo's!
T. S.
What better place than Hugo's to watch the Manly Ferry come in on a lazy Sunday. Food, drinks and service exceptional.
A. A.
What a wonderfull restaraunt, nice location with views and tasty food.
D. C.
definitely recommend this place - food is amazing, with a wide range of options, the staff are friendly, and service is fast. I've been to this restaurant a number of times over the years and have always had a good experience here. And the setting on the water is a great backdrop for dining. On the days we've gone and couldn't pre-book a table, the wait was never long, and it's easy to grab a drink at the bar or go for for walk to fill the short wait time.
J. Y.
Fabulous wines, food, service, and atmosphere
R. M.
Well, what can I say. We had a table outside, the setting was stunning, the staff were attentive without being intrusive and the food was delicious. I had the ocean trout and my partner had the Barramundi, both were attractively presented and perfectly cooked. I don't know how they were so efficient, the place was packed. Go there if you get a chance, you'll love it like we did. One piece of advice, book a table in advance.
F. N.
Good flat white coffee!
M. P.
Good food, great service, and fabulous view across Sydney harbor
A. T.
i have been here more than 3 times and i must say, every time food has been consistently good. Service is very good as well. The Pizza are amazing. It has great views of the water and a beautiful atmosphere! highly recommend.
C. J. T. (. T.
The location is probably one of the best in Sydney. Amazing service and very good food.
The carpaccio and snapper were delicious. Very cool cocktails
B. N.
First time. My avo stack and salad was to kill for. Excellent service. Change nothing.
C. T.
It was a lovely experience at Hugo’s Manly. The view is amazing. The food is delicious. My favourite was the butterflied king prawns. Although it was almost full on a Friday lunch yet the noise level was relatively low and made the lunch really enjoyable. Also, the service is remarkable the staff are always smiling and friendly.
m. p.
Such a nice ambience ,vibe , taste , staff and everything over there was awesome . Pizzas and desserts we ordered were very tasty especially that tiramisu and white panacotta ..just yummy ..we visited there in our anniversary and were very pleased with the quality and everything..made our days very special!
S. C.
Went here on a packed Saturday for lunch (9 in the group). The service and the food was impeccable. I don't often write reviews but considering how busy it was I thought the staff did an excellent job very attentive + the food was delicious and came out in a timely manner. Also drink I had (blushed spritz) was fab. Loved it. Highly recommend.
A. L.
Watching the sun do down over Manly beach while enjoying an excellent meal made our last night in Australia very special. Friendly and helpful staff and an extensive range of fish dishes made it a great choice and will be something we remember for many years to come. The restaurant is on the wharf, next to the busy ferry terminal, and the beach is a favourite place for youngsters to hang, out so it’s a very buzzy place. booking is essential.
J. W.
Awesome food, great location and environment. Kids also welcome. View of the ferries while sitting there.
Y. K.
Food and scenery and above all the staff are friendly and good
J. C.
Sensational dining experience in every aspect. Food absolutely amazing. Cocktails spectacular. Views absolutely amazing. Highly recommend.
Please not a complaint just constructive feedback for management.1. Service was great but perhaps waiter was too concencious visiting our table and removing plates no sooner we had finished. Felt very rushed. Also little disappointing that waiter ASKED if we wanted to leave a tip. Leaving a tip is a customers discretion and left a bitter taste to be honest when asked!!
Overall awesome dining experience.
D. R.
A very pleasent lunch with water views - excellent attention from our waitress and delish food - and all delivered even though the restaurant was full. Well done.
K. H.
Jumped off the ferry and grabbed a simple casual lunch with my aged mother as we watched the ferries dock and depart. Pate as a starter and pizza for the main dish. G&T, a lovely red from South Australia and an espresso to finish. Service was attentive and discreet. Highly recommended.
L. D.
Went to lunch here the other day, views are amazing right on the Manly Wharf with picturesque views. The food was incredible, I had the barramundi which was cooked to perfection. Extremely reasonably priced considering its location, would definitely recommend going there for lunch. Staff were friendly and approachable.
G. W.
Food was fantastic along with great service and a stunning veiw.
Q. N.
Nice food on the docks with a great view.
O. R.
Absolutely stunning atmosphere with an amazing view. Very friendly and professional service, especially for the price point. Pizza bases weren't quite my personal favourite style but if you're a fan of crisp, thin pizzas then definitely give it a try.
D. S. T.
What a fabulous place! The atmosphere, scenery and exceptional service makes Hugos a place you crave to go back to.
Food is equally great with a great selection of entrees, mains, pizza and deserts.
Looking forward to our next visit.
Special thanks to our waiter Roberto who looked after us!
A. K.
We travelled from Melbourne, and went to dinner here on a whim. Best meal of the whole trip, we had the Barramundi and the Snapper. So good! Definitely recommend, and will definitely be returning on our next trip to Sydney. Meals were perfectly cooked, just the right size, and lovely to eat. It was so busy, a Saturday night, but still only had a 45 minute wait until we were seated. They took our number, and phoned us when a table was available, so we were able to go for a walk and a look around too, which was great.
R. V.
The service staff is amazing! Very well trained and the food will never be less than fantastic. Whenever in Manly, it is a must to have their mains. Specially their Snapper or the Ocean Trout. Great drinks list too!! I go there once a month!!
M. L.
I always like coming here for lunch. The view of the water and beach is beautiful, and the service is excellent.
We had the pizza (lamb and seafood) this time, and thoroughly enjoyed it. They have a great selection of wine as well, so make sure you match lunch with a good one.
M. C.
We popped in here while waiting on the ferry back to circular quay and ended up staying for 3 drinks because it had a really cool atmosphere and the lighting was very inviting and relaxed.
We were a bit self conscious of going in as it did look pretty fancy and we were in sports gear. However the staff were very friendly and found us a seat immediately.
There are lovely views from the restaurant. Unfortunately we had already eaten so didn’t get to sample the food
Definitely worth a visit in the night time

Had birthday lunch here and it certainly didn't disappoint! Great pizzas and pasta, with a fairly good wine list too. Awesome location by the water with city views in the distant. Service was good, but at times wait staff could not be found when needed. Only area of improvement is that despite knowing it was my birthday, they did not try to make it a wow experience for me.
E. F.
Hugo's is an overall wonderful experience, the outdoor mezzanine section is particularly pleasant on a summers evening with a cold stone and wood in hand. The food has been exquisite, albeit pricey. The seafood platter in particular offers a great range of fresh lobster, prawns and squid. My only issue is with the difficulty in getting a table however this is to be expected with any high quality restaurant
j.
This place is amazing! Absolutely everything on the menu was of such a high calibre! Great experience will definitely be dining here again!

Great location on the western side of the Manly Ferry Wharf.
A big restaurant which is very professionally run. Good menu which spans across the board to fabulous casual pizzas.
Good team of friendly staff.
Something special to sit outside on a balmy evening with the sun setting over the water.
Highly recommended for locals and visitors alike.

Good pizza, I can't remember the flavours, however there was a tasty one with duck on it. After a while, the flavours mushed together. The place itself was at a great location, and I enjoyed the cocktails a lot more. The staff were helpful and front of house girls distractingly attractive! Pricing was reflective of the great location
A. M.
We thoroughly enjoyed our long lunch here on the deck celebrating my partners birthday. Can't fault the service, the food or the price as we found it good value for money. The ambience was very relaxed and friendly. I would recommend to all my friends and family. My only advice would be that I imagine it would be very hot on the deck in the middle of summer despite umbrellas and sea breezes.
V. J.
Hugos is fantastic!! Staff are friendly and helpful, great variety on wine list and of course - delicious food. Recommend a long leisurely lunch here on a beautiful sunny day. Conveniently located right near the Manly Ferry straight in from Circular Quay (no driving needed so take advantage of that wine list I mentioned) I would certainly suggest booking though if you do not intend to arrive early or if it is a weekend. My only downfall is I dont get to come here more often! 5/5.
J. O.
Walk in, but a short wait at the bar with some cocktails. Very attentive staff and simple food cooked well. Excellent knowledge on coeliac needs - gluten free and no cross contamination.
I had the fig pizza, my wife a had a GF pizza and friend a pasta dish, washed down with a nice white wine. Can see how it's got the great reputation.
R. M.
Wonderful Friday afternoon lunch watching the inner harbour. Great light lunch of seafood with some scallops to start. Not just a pizza place although they are good also. Excellent service. Outside is best if the wind isn't up and just watch the afternoon sun shine but a nice problem to have.
M. A.
Very warm ambience... having lunch from Hugos on a sunny day can be awesome with some excellent views. I ordered Mediterranean pizza and was very happy with the order. Bit pricey though.
W.
No a bad place. But i should say that its not a place for a quiet company. It was really noisy and overcrowded. Its ok if u got used to, but not for me.
W. S.
One of my favourite dining spots in Sydney. Always decent quality food with lots of options and staff pretty okay. Lovely views of the ocean and can go up to the corso after for a gelato.
E. J.
We went last night - impromptu date night. We have been many times before, but last night topped them. The service was amazing, accommodating and polite. Our cocktails were delicious and the food even better. Angel hair, rare tuna pasta was a stand out - seriously tasty.
M. B.
This place used to be amazing food & amazing service. Recently I think it’s become a victim of its own success - pizzas are pretty average now (eg not as good as Crust imho) and the place is full of the ‘in’ crowd more interested in cramming up the bar area and being served by beautiful people than in good service. Location is still second to none, especially around sunset.
L. r.
What a delightful experience! Food was great, and service was impeccable- Lucy served us and was so pleasant and welcoming, she made our experience that much better! Very much impressed
S.
Amazing pizzas. Great staff. Killer view, cosy interior. Four women for a birthday lunch and we all loved every moment Their Mon-Wed winter deal of buy one pizza, get one free added to the happiness levels too!
M. A.
One of my kids favorites. Stylish, hip crowd (way below my own age group). Quite a nice mix of food offerings (although my offspring always tends towards the pizzas). The quality is good to excellent and the prices are reasonable (but not cheap) considering the prime location.
E. F.
Slightly pricey italian restaurant with a cool view. I had the Angel-Hair Pasta, which was simply delightful - light yet still rich, with incredible buttery flavor on the just-barely-cooked tuna. I also got to try some of my partner's garlic pizza, which was thin and crispy, with a surprisingly delicate mozzarella paired with exactly the right amount of the more assertive garlic flavor. We also had some of the chips, which were excellent: huge, authoritative wedges of golden-brown potato, served with tomato sauce and (if I remember right) mayonnaise. I did not sample any of these but the other folks in our party were of the opinion that the wine selection was decent as well.
G. R.
Beautiful food and location on the water. Sit outside
C. H.
Best dining location in Manly in my opinion. Sunset views are amazing. I've eaten there for years and never had a bad meal. Food is excellent but pricey and their pizzas are top notch (they won best pizza in Australia in the past). Recommend the Spanner crab linguine, Angel hair pasta, or prawn pizza.
B. M.
Excellent location, right by the water, with the option to eat outdoors which is great for the warmer months. Staff were friendly, efficient and helpful, and made us feel very welcoming upon entering the restaurant. Drink prices are on the higher end of the scale, but specials are available. Cocktails were of good quality and promptly served. A great place for Friday night drinks.
A. J.
Solid variety of food, particularly fish related, supported by a reasonable beer selection and good cocktail selection. This would not particularly make this a place to go, but your at in the view is the Manly waterfront and this is a definite place for both locals and tourists to spend a quality afternoon with friends. Recommended.
A. P.
If you grew up near the northern beaches then you know all about Hugo’s. Get Italian/ modern Australian restaurant that does get quite busy even when having a booking. They have great deals all the time too throughout the year so always look out for those. Pizzas are always great they’re really generous with the toppings and the base is cooked to perfection. I personally like their pastas too so highly recommend it! Thanks Hugo for always being great to locals and tourist!
M. S.
Very expensive, but pizza was tasty and large enough to share!
A. M.
The food was delicious and the view amazing! The staff is very friendly.
D. P.
The location of Hugos Manly is amazing. I had a pizza when I went and it tasted amazing. The flavour combinations are unique but delicious. Being on the harbour you get great sunset views and it tends to be more sheltered than the sea side. Was very busy when I went but there was lots of attentive staff so did not have to wait to be served. Went with a friend and girlfriend and we all enjoyed our meals. Many of our friends recommended Hugos Manly and I would also.
J. C.
Awesome food. Great service. A must if you're ever in Manly. It is pricey but it's worth it. I've been for lunch and for dinner and I preferred the lunch more as it wasn't as noisy. Dinner was a Saturday night. Very busy and very loud.
M.
Fantastic location , fantastic food....and most importantly - fantastic wait staff...attention to detail. Very crowded lunch time but it could be due to the Xmas holiday period with lots of office functions. Book ahead of time to avoid frustration.
C. T.
Amazing service, meals and view! It was so busy today at lunch being a Friday, but the staff were so attentive. Food came promptly and was delicious. Thanks so much for a great lunch.
C. D.
We had to wait over an hour for a table because they had accidentally marked our name on the list, which was rather frustrating.
Once we were seated, the service was excellent and the food came out quickly considering how busy the restaurant was.
Food was delicious. Basic, but cooked to perfection.
S. S.
keep going back to Hugo's as the food is always, repeat always good. The pizza's are my favourite. Suggest to go when it's daylight as the view is wonderful and at night you can't really see it.
Great staff, very efficient.

I rate Hugos in Manly as one of the best bars in the world.. big call I know.
Location is amazing, especially for sun downers (superb cocktails). The food is consistently good. Great service and value. 10/10 every time.
A. K.
The food deserves five stars it was simply delicious. The reason it only received three stars though is because we were seated next to the bar and there was a lot of shouting and going on. It just wasn't the best dining experience. I think this might've been because it was nearer to Christmas time so thats understandable. Also, we booked for a table and they sent a confirmation email and everything but for some reason when we arrived to the restaurant they told us that we were never booked in. Also because it was busy, the food took a while to finally come. Its in a really nice location though as it overlooks the water. Also, its in a really convenient place because theres an ice cream shop right behind it.
C. T.
I've mainly had good experiences here. Great location, fairly nice food. But it's pretty pricey, I suppose because of the location. Friends of mine ordered a pizza and found it indelible. They were given complimentary limoncello (which wasn't that awesome). Usually a reliable choice in manly. But expect a wait on a nice day/night if you haven't booked.
A. W.
Great as usual. Good food, wine and great service in a lovely location. The seafood platter was better than expectation included Sashimi and scampi, not just a pile of deep fried fish.
D. L.
How can you go wrong with a location like this. Stunning views across the Harbour to Sydney in the distance. Food and drinks where on time, having a vibrant style atmosphere. Staff very helpful and food was good quality. Great place for a group to enjoy summertime fun.
A. C.
Excelent pizza, good service. Beautiful wharf view!
D. T.
The food is incredibly good, especially the pizzas.
Cocktails are unnecessarily expensive, $18 for a tiny glass.
Service is unbelievably bad. They told us there was a 30-45 minute wait, took our number but called us back an hour and 25 minutes later.
It's good if you can find a table.
A. M.
We had dinner at Hugos on our Anniversary. The mushroom pizza was fantastic and the atmosphere was great! The location is perfect, right on the water. Highly recommend.
A.
Favourite restaurant in Manly! The angel hair spaghetti, steak, fig pizza & avocado rocket salad are my usual orders.
J. L. (.
Enjoy a delicious glass of wine or a trendy cocktail from this gem right near the ferry plaza in Manly. We enjoyed a few glasses of Provence Rośe and a Northern beaches
Negroni. The prawns and tomato salad we had for an appetizer were so delicious. We had the ham pizza which was very savory and was a great way to round out lunch. The staff was very friendly and made the experience that much better.
R. P.
we had 2 kids in tow so wasnt sure how we would fit in with all the beautiful people, but service was great and polite and they made us feel right at home. was super spot for a late lunch/early dinner and food was top notch , fish was much better than we got over at Nick's a couple of days earlier . funky tunes and real people watching sports, wish I was 21 again !
J. P. M. (.
Celebrated a good friends birthday here recently. Service was cool and prompt. Polenta chips were nice and tasty. Tried a few different pizzas chorizo, fig, margarita, and prosciutto. I really enjoyed the chorizo one the most. Kid's meals were big servings as well. Overall a nice night out. Beer ranges from 9-11 and wine varies from 10 and up I think.
R. M.
Hugo's is a very well run, well designed and comfortable place with a mix of majority Dining area's it still has bar space and some more casual seating.
Because of its location with beautiful afternoon sunsets they have blinds that retract and lower to avoid glare.
I go here for the pizza's and drinks, the staff are always extremely friendly and highly trained.
The only catch here is the popularity can make it difficult to get a table so often its a quiet drink in the lounge or at the bar until a table is free.
F. B.
The food is great, but portions too small. Service was ok, but very much focused on making money rather than the customers wishes. Ambience and location were excellent too
A. S.
Felt pretty fancy eating here, silver service for sure! Waiter was super nice, meals very nice, price was good for the location! Had pizzas, cant complain they tasted great! The whole vibe here is really nice, good for a nice meal out!
B. M.
Warm casual atmosphere with 5 star cuisine. The northern aspect is glorious, so make sure you have your sunglasses so you can peer into the crystal clear water as you indulge in the many and varied delicious entree's and mains. My favourite are the raw choices, Oysters, Tuna and steak Tartare, Sunscreen is often provided if you need it. Thank you David & David for a memorable day. <3
S. M.
Staff always friendly, nice choice of cocktails. I feel the menu needs a spruce up. It's been pretty much the same since they opened.
Good, consistent food and service though.
P. O.
Hugos is a classic. Never disappoints. Great location food and atmosphere. Perfect for a night out.
C. A.
Such a beautiful location to have lunch or dinner. Sunset is amazing especially when the weather is warm. Great selection of delicious to eat and some tasty pizzas. Good selection of cocktails and wines as well.
V. K.
In undoubtedly one of the best locations and best pizza restaurants in Australia, riddled with awards as you come inside to the restaurant i wanted to put it to the test. For a nice relaxing dinner and something a little different book ahead and sit on the jetty along the wharf and watch the sunset over some wine and oysters before your pizza. Recommend you share to get the best of all the crazy flavors.
A. M.
“Hugos in Manly is absolutely tremendous”- Donald J. Trump. Hugos has exceptional quality menu items, the restaurant overlooks picturesque landscapes and the staff are the most attentive and sincere I have ever come across in a restaurant. With a typically packed and buzzing atmosphere during every time I have visited, it blows my mind that the staff halt progress in their busy workloads to fill up their customers glasses with water and walk around monitoring everyone’s experience. Bravo Hugos, Bravo!
D. P.
We really love just sitting down and ordering all entrees over a couple of hours and some drinks. Service is very attentive and personal. Sometimes restaurants at great locations simply have that - location and service or food don’t live up to it. Hugo’s is able todo it all.
J. B.
The food here is always yummy and the staff are very helpful. We went for a lunch and the staff appreciated that it was very noisey we requested a move to a quieter space the staff graciously moved us to a quieter space. Good on the young ones who work in this restaurant . I will come back again.
A. K.
Their booking system is very user friendly and the staff is quite helpful if you need to make a change. The place has a beautiful view and the menu features delicious varieties of seafood. It was a great experience!
S.
The pizza was fine, but not as high my expectations of this establishment from what I heard from others. The atmosphere was good. My partner had a fish main which she says was tasty although perhaps a touch expensive.
B. N.
Honestly just an incredible experience!! The food was superb, the service was professional and efficient and the overall vibe was great!! However, come prepared for a hefty payment at the end but for the quality of the food it’s definitely 100% worth it!
F. T.
I was dining with visitors from overseas. Wasn't expecting to get the last table on a Tuesday night - popular venue! We unexpectedly got offered a table with water view when one became available later so nice touch and I was chuffed for my visitors. The barramundi in ginger sauce was beautiful and hot considering how busy! Might have reignited my passion as haven't been there for yonks!
C. W.
Hugo's is a great spot to take visitors to Manly as you get superb views over the water as well as a slightly high class dining feel. I've eaten here a couple of times and have always been impressed with the food, although be warned it is a little pricey. The wait for a table can also be rather frustrating, but provided you can get a spot near the bar whilst waiting then there's definitely worse places to while away half an hour!
D. H.
We are big fans of Hugos, it sits in one of the nicest spots in Manly and with the sun going down over the harbour is an awesome spot to spend the afternoon/evening. It has very good staff, always extremely friendly an efficient.
It is usually ridiculously busy but don't ket that put you off, the staff are very good at making sure you have a table with only a short wait which is well spent at the bar. It is kind of cramped but as the tables are large-ish it doesn't feel like you are on top of your dining neighbours.
As is usually the case we went for a range of starters all brought out as they were ready and shared everything between the two of us. The dishes are fresh and light but tasty and inventive enough. They also have great drinks menu and as well as the standard classic cocktails they have quite a few that are largely their own invention and are very interesting.
P. M.
The food and service was sensational. Truly great location too. Wish I could give 4.5 stars. The only glitch was that they missed one of our side dishes. They apologised and made it free but unfortunately arrived at the end of our meal. However, will definitely be back!
R. R.
Amazing food and service! Seafood is beautifully cooked and served. Great view! Perfect for a lunch or dinner date :) Would recommend this to anyone.
B.
The fig pizza is amazing in this restaurant!
g. m.
Great location, menu during the day wasn’t amazing, the evening menu is meant to be way better but I did enjoy the food. Cocktails were great and the staff were really fast. Highly recommend
B. L.
Great service, amazing view and the food is delicious.
R. P.
Great pizza - more traditional Australian pizza style. The cocktails and bar are excellent. The meni is diverse and the chefs are great. It's a trendy place with fantastic views and the prices reflect their high demand.
T. D.
It's a lovely spot, right on the wharf. And it's got a bustling, buzzy atmosphere.
The pizzas we had were OK, but weren't any better than anywhere else, and much less impressive than many of the spots in Haberfield or Lane Cove. Especially for the price.
And my god the place is full of trendy posers. It felt like about half of them were here for dinner because it's the place to be seen in Manly.
Service was quite good, though, they took good care of us. And the wine list is pretty spesh.
A mixed bag all in all, but as value for money, it's not quite there.
J.
Another recent lunch trip during “half price pizza” month. Totally worth it, and a great place to just relax and watch the harbour go by. Recommend the Chorizo pizza and polenta chips. Washed down with a French rose!
J. L.
restaurant is in a great location, seating is nice and food is great. The fish is good, the pizza are great, especially the prawn pizza. It’s covered with prawns, around two-four pieces of prawn on each slice.
A. H.
EAT here, the food is FANTASTIC! A bit pricey, but quality costs, right! Educated staff who treat you with reflect. Love this place, and my Mrs loves me more for taking her here! 😎
R. P.
Came back to Hugos after a gap.... the service was excellent ... the food was the usual high standard... the ambience makes the evening even better.
👍
B. “. B.
Great location and nice for sunset. Early sept and heating good as quite fresh and sat by complete open window areas. After sunset these get closed with see through plastic protectors.
Menu adequate. Played safe as waiter wasn’t very convincing and said he could tell me what was popular as he hadn’t eaten from the menu.
Risotto was decent- 7/10. Not a massive portion and plate was heated, so that was ok. They could have upsold me, but basically no service. Had to wave to get the order taken. Only have 1 liter bottles of sparkling. Wine list ok, a little overpriced.
Would go back for views and location but barely for food, service etc. in fact, there was no service. Value for money- not great. Risotto 34$. Wine by glass 15$
D. T.
An impromptu lunch and a lovely time was had. Great food. Excellent service and friendly staff. We have never been disappointed at Hugo’s.
C. T.
If you’re looking for a special night out in Manly, you really can’t go past Hugo’s! No matter the weather, wild or beautiful, the atmosphere is intimate and inviting, the staff are welcoming and friendly, and the food is full of flavour, beautifully plated and well portioned.
P. M.
If you're looking for a classy place with a great vibe this is a great spot to come to in Manly. Despite thinking it will be full of tourists its actually a lot of locals that make up the crowd. It has a great location overlooking the water and conveniently located right next to the wharf. Try the Fig and Pancetta pizza. it was amazing. This is a slightly upscale establishment so expect to pay more than a regular pizza spot, we found however it was about right considering the quality of the food and location. Service was a little slow however. We would recommend checking it out while you're in Manly.
S. B.
Outstanding service and wonderful food. Although it can be quite crowded, there's a pleasant bar area to chill in until a table opens up. Both drinks and food can run quite expensive, but the views can be great (if you manage to snag a seat near the windows)
N. S.
This place tops on all counts, from stellar views, awesome cocktails, to great food, this place has got it all. The cocktails are innovative and really good with an extensive selection to choose from. Hugos is famous for its pizzas which are delicious wood fired oven, thin crust ones, with a some interesting topping combinations. I love the fig ,prosciutto and onion one, which is delicous with sweet and salty flavours. The place gets really busyon the weekends, so get in early to get a table. It's the perfect place for sipping on a cocktail and watching the sun go down, all the while munching on some delicious pizza!
N. W.
Hugo's has a great view and a great vibe and the good is delicious, but it should be when you are paying $28 for a pizza! It's always very busy so book ahead. Very nice wine list too.
L. B.
Great day at Hugo’s Manly Wharf.
Fabulous service and experience.
From the moment I arrived and was greeted by Dave Evans, to our complimentary limoncello on departure. #Hugo’s
Definitely one of Sydney’s coolest venues.
N. C.
For setting and menu, this has to be the best dining experience in Manly. Always has a great atmosphere, food is fantastic without being ridiculously overpriced. On a warm summer evening, you can't beat it.
D. K.
Italian level of food, American level of service! Thanks! Really enjoyed the lunch here!
T. G. G.
No.1 - The best restaurant I have ever dined in. from food to staff to cocktails, not to mention the view. Everything is perfect about the place.
A. E.
Three stars for the view and staff. It was for a work function. The starters were not enough to share. The fig and buffalo salad was delicious but again not enough. The wait in between the starter and main was too long. The pizza had potential if only it didn't hit the tables too cold, then we had to wait between pizza arrival only for it to hit the table cold again. Could have been a disappointing night if it wasn't for the company and the view.
S. F.
Perfect spot for afternoon cocktails to watch the sun go down. Lunch and dinner also good. Food is delish. Staff are attentive but not intrusive. Great vibe.
E. K.
Great food, great cocktails and top notch location right by the water. Very busy however, make sure to reserve, otherwise you have to wait at least an hour for a table.
f. s.
Very nice venue right on the water, good food, just disappointed with my kingfish carpaccio which was completely covered with onions (I would like to eat the raw fish and I could taste only onions) at if was written on the menu I would have said please without onions. The service is average
A. L.
Best prawn pizza I've had but wish there was more topping for $29 - hence the 4 star rating
But in saying that, highly recommend it 🤗
4got wat their other dishes tasted like as they weren't memorable... made return visits just 4 the prawn pizza
N. H.
Gorgeous views and elegant food. Snapper was crispy skinned and succulent, polenta chips were perfectly rectangle. Very attentive service and dessert was delicious 😍
J. C.
Brilliant restaurant. Great for a special occasion where you can sit back, take your time and enjoy a few courses. The prawn pizza is fantastic as well as their salads and seafood dishes. Great cocktails too.
K. S.
Great place for lunch to watch the manly world sail by. You do sometimes feel like a bit of a horse however, sitting at the big windows.
It can be hard to get in here, so I would recommend booking otherwise it can be hour+ wait at weekends.
Great wine list (hit up the Katnook Odyssey if they have any left) and the food is the normal sort of pub fare, but definitely one of the better places to eat in Manly. Their pizzas are the second best to my fav pizza place, which is high praise!
Pros: perfect for a relaxed lunch with friends, decent wine list (bubbles fall short) and one of the better places for food in Manly which is pretty hit and miss.
Cons: long waiting times if you don't book, staff can be hit and miss, noisy, and it is very much a tourist trap due to location.
J. M.
Excellent food and service.
A. G.
Amazing view at Hugo's Manly, overviewing the harbour.
Pizza are tasty, and originals; but pasta and meat/fish also great, although on the pricey side.
You can't book, so make sure you show up early and put your name down on the waiting list.
A. F.
Service was slow and the place is annoyingly noisy. Do not expect a quiet lunch experience. The food, however, was great. Probably one of the best pizzas I've had.
R.
WoW WoW WoW. What an amazing place. Awesome food and incredible, lovely people and great location. Already when you get seated you feel so happy. And that continues through the whole night. Not only through pleasing manners but an honest smile of everyone all the time. It's like being home with friends. I forgot my notebook there so I had to call them afterwards and it was the same experience with two different staff members. So helpful and friendly. I am impressed. Thank you guys. If I wouldn't live in Brisbane I would be a regular.
G. C.
Go to Hugos for great cocktails & amazing pizza. The pizzas are made on traditional thin bases, without too much cheese, and delicious toppings-my favourite is the lamb pizza. The only one I didn't enjoy was the pork belly pizza. The cocktails are consistently great, and they even have four different options for 'mocktails' for those not drinking alcohol. Pizzas average around $22-$24. Location wise, Hugos can't really be beaten. It's about 20 steps from the gates of the Manly Ferry, and another couple of steps to the buses, with views across Manly Harbour. Downside is it's always packed and they don't always take bookings, meaning wait times can be lengthy.
R. Y.
This place is bloody awesome and i recommend it to everyone. It took me 2 hours to get here and it was worth it. Staff are very friendly and food is amazing and the best part the cocktails the best.
M. C.
Amazing good and even better cocktails! Location is spot on too one of my favourite places to go out and eat! The Wagyu beef is the best steak I have had! :)
B. R. C.
Entrees were delicious: calamari, carpaccio, fig & prosciutto & rocket salad, meatballs. Most pizza were good. Excellent venue, relaxed ambience. Great service!
J. N.
Great for a lovely lunch out with friends - can share pizzas and have a couple of drinks watching the beautiful harbour. A little pricey but fair enough given the location. I will definitely be returning!
M. R.
Food was very good, the location was spectacular right on the water, however the service was poor. Rude and grumpy wait staff, and my bill came with a mandatory 15% service charge. I would not have given 15% due to the poor quality of service but there wasn't an option to remove it.
L. W.
Delicious food with a great location and service! Highly recommend the spaghettini. Good place to rest your feet after a day on Manly; expect to spend ~40-50 pp on food and drinks.
J. F.
Wonderful service Great wine selection
N. H.
Now has amazing vegan options too! So glad I’m able to still enjoy the incredible food at this great venue with my diet change x
d. a.
The staff we encountered on arrival weren't to welcoming , they had bad communication skills and attitude.
The staff changed tables and we had a new table staff . they were good...
The food was excellent..i would return ,unfortunate about some people
A. L.
Food is consistent. Getting a table is painful. We always come at the start of lunch or dinner and get a table 90% of the time. However approaching the front desk to ask for a seat is confronting because the smile isn't warm and they seem to be over concerned on their outfit. Mind you the ladies are dressed for a night out and not a classy night out. Get some uniforms for these ppl. I don't want to see their underwear, cakey make up and fake tan. Cheap! Furthermore, we mindfully come at that time knowing it's a walk in basis and the restaurant is 80% empty and they still look around like they're squeezing us in! If it wasn't for the food I'd tell them where to go!
f.
A great place to sit and watch the ferry arrive and sunset across the beach. Dinner reservations are a must, as Hugo's is incredibly popular for their pizza's and tables disappear fast. Cocktails start from $18 and the menu has a seafood and pizza angle. Park your bike out the front or their is a carpark underneath the wharf.
e. d.
Great location. Great table outside. Was worried that such a big venue would mean slow service... proved wrong... very good waiting staff and food very prompt
K. C.
Excellent food and drink. Excellent service. Would highly recommend.
K. W.
Amazing. Great service, great food, great views and an even better atmosphere
A. S.
Came here for lunch on a friday. Didn't have to book so just walked in and got a table inside. The staff were friendly and the service was great. I had the ocean trout which was delicious and the group shared some polenta chips which were also super yummy.
H. D.
Such an iconic spot in Manly, well worth the ferry ride from Circular Quay. Either book or get in early for both lunch and dinner. My favourite is the garlic prawn pizza paired with Peronis.
M. B.
Superb! Not enough superlatives for this place . . .
Great location and ambiance.
Excellent, friendly staff.
Food was superb.
Service was quick, polite and attentive without being in your face.
Fantastic!! Easy 5 stars!
A. J.
Food and location are great but the service is some of the best in Sydney. Lovely staff who are obviously well briefed and trained. 10/10. Highly recommend.
M. E.
Food is ok (pricey) but the location is amazing! Similar to the other Hugos, it's loud and great for a group but not for a family dinner (why we went here for that I don't know). Service was ok, the waitress came back to check our order twice.
E. T.
Delicious menu, great location, friendly service and stunning views.
We enjoyed my friends birthday with 20 guests and the service was impeccable.
Thankyou again.
J. A.
Great food. Great wine awesome pizza
W. S.
3/1/15. Best cocktails at the Manly wharf end of Manly. Mojito crew on point. Pizzas are awesome but wish they were woodfired. Service was good, on the floor Federico and Georgia who've been there for years kill it and Manager Adam is actually a boss. The newer staff can be impersonal but thats largely a result of the place always being so damn busy. A damn good service & anyone can see why its been a successful business since 09 opening. Both a locals favourite and a broader Sydney destination venue. 4.25*

Great view, consistent food, good wine list. Perfect for lunch with the ladies. Right on the wharf and easy place to meet up if coming in from Sydney CBD via the ferry.
B. Y.
Awesome views and good food. Great for any night.
D. B.
Had a really nice meal here recently - service was fantastic and good food and reasonable price and portions. Always a favourite
J. P.
The best fancy pasta I got a chance to eat (Spaghettini with Queensland Crab). Even knowing it is in the $$-$$$ price range, it's good to know and expect around 50 AUD per person; they're a seafood restaurant first, with Italian cooking (not Italian restaurant with seafood).
S. F.
We came here with a huge group and they kept the food coming all afternoon. I think everyone was very pleased with the food that they made. In particular the pizza was very decent.
X. L. B.
really nice pad. Sometimes a bit too busy but we can deal with that. I would have given it a 5 start had the prices been a little lower. Overall a great place for dinner.
S. A.
Great location and good service. The bartender was welcoming and prepared us really good cocktails. Dinner was delicious, especially the pizza!
G. B.
Every time I travel to Sydney for business I have to eat at Hugo's. The pizza are excellent and the wine list extensive. No cheap but worth every penny.
w. w.
Food was fantastic- absolutely flawlessly presented and cooked. The girls were so friendly, professional and helpful, management should be very proud and grateful for such great staff
J. L.
It's buzzy and all about Sydney summertime by the harbour. Service is slick and youthfully professional. Prices mid-range and food Aussie style.
Wheelchair accessible.
M. H.
Great food reasonably priced. Good wine, cocktail and beer menu as well. The view is fantastic looking back down the harbor to the heads.
J. M.
Great food and good atmosphere
A. K.
We only came here for drinks before dinner; that being said, it's a great location and the place is done up really well to have a friendly yet slightly formal vibe. Good drinks too.
J. H.
Great atmosphere and lovely staff catered to my friends birthday brunch wonderfully.
J. D.
As always. Great night. Started platter still my fave. Couldn't fit in our dessert so they packed us up a goodies bag to take away
R. H.
Hugo's hasn't yet disappointed - it's our regular go-to when visiting Sydney. Beautiful views out over the water, great atmosphere and delicious food.
C. B.
Beautiful view, awesome cocktails and great food
T. H.
Was here for a birthday, service was top notch. Food was tasty, drinks were awesome. Can't go wrong with this place.
K. M.
The food here was fantastic, the staff were friendly and professional. There also some gorgeous views looking out at the water.
L. B.
Yummy pizza, nice wine and a great view! Nab a table on the wharf/water-side... it's perfect :) Pumpkin, zucchini and goats cheese pizza is amazing!
B. T.
Its ok I guess, the pizzas are simple and tasty, the drinks are drinks and the location is great. Good if you like to see guys wth fake tans in linen shirts showing of their new watch.
B. W.
The food was great, but more importantly the service was excellent, they accommodated for my dog, even attaching one of their personal oroton umbrellaa to create shade for him. Awesome spot, especially for a summer day.
M. K.
Love this place. Amazing food. Amazing views. Amazing service. Highly recommend if you’re only one night in manly.
A. T.
Staff were great. There was a power outage halfway thru our meal and the waiter came over and apologized right away that we could not order anymore drinks.
Staff was very professional in handling other tables complaining the outage. P
M. F.
Lively Italian on the wharf in Manly. Waterfront dining, good wine list and friendly staff. You can't go wrong with the pizzas.
P. O.
There just is no other place to be on a hot afternoon in Manly than on the deck at Hugos. Inside is much too noisy for me, but the prawns are just as fantastic wherever you sit, and each to their own.
J. J.
Stunning views. Food was lovely and excellent staff. We had a wonderful time celebrating my brothers birthday.
c. s.
The location is right in the heart of Manly over the water, right next to the ferry while looking back at the Corso. The spagettini with spanner crab is to die for, each strand of pasta dripping with flavour. The mushroom risotto carries the delicate taste and aroma of each piece of fungus, amazing. The best Affogato served with Frangelico. Friendly helpful staff makes this a dining adventure
s. s.
Wow, what a great experience. I went with the mrs for a special night. We really enjoyed the vibe and the food was good too. Really good views of the ocean and the crowd was spot on.
R. H.
Great service, choice location, and the food is excellent too.
I. P.
Fantastic place. The pizza and polenta chips are ahmazing. Don’t get the Smurf but other than that beautiful views & awesome food. Staff always so friendly and helpful!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
S. A.
Fine Savignon Blanc and quality award winning pizza with a decent view of the beach
L. W. C.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, tasty food.
L. L.
Love it
J. P.
Overpriced. Tourist trap. Apart from the great location and view, unfortunately not much to recommend. Bland menu.
Tourists probably would enjoy, but not for the average Australian.
B. E.
Amazing food. Amazing service. Can’t wait to come back!
C. W.
Really yummy pizzas (although not as good as an authentic italian) but for the view and the location Hugos is great! Enjoy a glass of champagne at the bar and share a pizza on a sunny sunday arvo!
D. T.
Best ham pizza period. + nice sunset.
M. C.
Beautiful view, great view and even better food
E. W.
Amazing views. Amazing staff. And of course Amazing food.A big thumbs up from me will be back soon Cheers Hugos.👍👍👍
R. B.
Great vibe and atmosphere by the wharf. Special cocktail was made for me and my partner with secret ingredients. Food is amazing.
P. T. D.
Amazing pizza. Terrific wine. Lively, but excellent service. Could not ask for more!
E. v. D.
Consistently a great experience, from the moment you walk through the door till the end. Very busy, so get there early of you want a table with a view!
L. M.
beautiful food servive is a bit slow especially when change over happens you need to make sure they know what you ordered because they forgot our pizza but then gave us a complementary for us waiting over 1 hour which was fine beautiful view.
S. F. C.
Tasty sirloin steak, not fatty, excellently cooked to perfection, the entree was great to share, and the view is great throughout the day. Highly recommended.
A.
Beautiful setting however pizza is overpriced, but then again it was top ingredients. Cocktails very nice just abit small
A. F.
Superb tasting plate starters let down by a very average steak, but forgiven thanks to awesome service. The chicken looked way better.
n. c.
i love the food the staff are great and the ambience is amazing great place to bring your partner you pay London prices still worth it two girls in front of us on the front deck spent 3 hours here tells you how good it is the service by the staff is exemplary the wine list was well thought of i will all ways have a good memory of hugos
N. G.
Great pizza and even better views. If you're looking for a glamorous spot to watch the sun set you won't find anything better on the northern beaches.
J. R.
It is definitely on the top 3 pizzas I've had in my life, and Ive been in different countries, cities, even famous for pizzas, but nothing beats these pizzas or this location!!! It is awesome
S.
Great location - especially as I needed to arrive and leave by ferry.
Good drinks, good food, good service.
Busy and reasonably noisy.
P. D.
Didn't eat here so I can't comment on the food. The service has been great. Sitting by the fire in winter is pretty nice :)
w. x.
Great views, awesome pizza. This is a perfect place for lunch with water views or sunset by the water. The only problem is the pricing is a tad expensive for my budget.
E. K.
Food with a spectacular view!! First Class cuisine in a wonderful setting. Staff very friendly.
P. H.
Great food, drink and staff
n. r. (.
This is a good pizza place with an amazing view of the beach.
Its not the best piza Ive had but the location is great for sitting with a glass of wine and discussing life with friends.
T. E.

Staff good
Very crowed but
Kingfish great!
g. h.
Awesome staff and food. Great view. Highly recommend the cocktails.
L. A.
Wow the food was superior. Costumer service very helpful - I am Celiac, pregnant and with gestational diabetes 😅
They managed to find me something I could eat in the Menu!
L. D.
Great food and wine with views of the water. If you need to catch the ferry back to Sydney it is a short walk away.
A. P.
Really good food that came out quickly, service was superb and location is literally in God's country. Can't ask for much else really...
C. R.
Excellent service from front of house to food and wine delivery but very frantic and busy on a Sunday lunch for six people. Been there several times and will return
s. g.
The service was good, seating excellent, food was delicious and affordable.most of all the pleasant and helpful waiters and waitresses if they are still called that are neatly attired.
J. H.

L. B.
One of my favourite places to dine.
J. S.
David and I had a wonderful meal. Totally delicious. I would highly recommend anyone to go.
G. I.
Had dinner with my girlfriends here and I have to say the food tasted just as good as the view. Setting a to do list to visit again!
L. L.
Great views back over the harbour. Generally the go to place in Manly, largely due to the lack of many other higher end restaurants. Does the job.
C. C.
Our favorite hang out spot in Sydney. Always great service here and the food is always on point.
J. K.
Good pizzas but way toooo pricy !!
However, you have a nice view on the Manly wharf!
S. 1.
Fantastic, attentive service. We loved every single dish. Great location. Will be back.
M. G.
Well recognized as an upper class restaurant for the Manly area and it lives up to its name. The food was not mind blowing but not bad either. The price was a bit steep but to be expected for this sort of place.
P. B.
Amazing location on the water. A great place to unwind with a glass of wine and a pizza before taking the ferry back to circular quay
T. T.
Love this place. Delicious pizza, sublime cocktails and millionaire views. Cool funky wait staff. Love it
B. H.
Always fantastic food and atmosphere. Everything on the menu is fantastic, especially the kingfish and the mushroom pizza!
P. O.
Nice restaurant with nice views. The food at Hugos is quite good but portions are small for the price you pay.
Will be back.
S. D.
Awesome location with an amazing view. Food is always great every time I visit, but service gets a little slow on weekends.
G. S.
Really good location, staff were friendly and promptly with you when required.
Pizza is pretty good, not wood fire but not bad
D. C.
Great service, fresh food, nice location! But only good for vegetarians if you really want to get a pizza!
T. M.
What a beautiful experience staff were attentive especially Martienne..prosecco was crisp and delicious..anti pasta perfect for one. View of course was exceptional..
R. S.
Always good vibes, great cocktails. The kingfish starter is sooo good! Meatballs are also 👌
N. R.
When in Manly do yourself a favour and check this place out. Fantastic experience, friendly staff, great food & views. If can get a outside table.
N. G.
The service and food were fantastic. (fish and chips and pizza) Opens up into a deck when the weather is good.
S. J.
On a peninsula devoid of many establishments where you can drink and have fun, Hugos is a stand out. New Years Day party is always a great crowd
A. H.
best view.
Price is reasonable considering the location. Love their pizza and cocktails.
Z. K.
It is possible to have amazing, warm, friendly, competent people. Seems like they're mostly at Hugo's. Thank you to Adam and his team. All the best 😊
R. A.
Amazing cocktails at hugos. Oli.E made the night special. Thanks hugos.
C. R.
Amazing restarunt, I love the food everytime I go there, would say its on the pricy side, but for rare ocasions, it's well worth it.
B. B.
The best restaurant in Manly by a significant amount! It's consistently fantastic food, excellent service and you can't beat the view!
c. d.

Food is fantastic, service is great! Family, friends, couples, it's great for everyone. It's definitely a fave in Manly, if not the best!!!
D. G.
My wife and I always enjoy dining at Hugos Manly. Only real problem is that it is so popular it can be difficult to get a table.
C. E.
Great meal with friends and family. Would go back again. Oysters and ceviche were great
P. G.
Delicious food, fabulous wine list and brilliant service in a great location. Absolute winner.
D. G.
Food was good and staff were efficient and friendly. But let's face it, you come here for the location, on Manly Wharf and the harbour.
R. D.
Nice wharf side restaurant with good seafood and amazing thin crust pizza options! View + food! Great place
c.
Best oysters and pizza in Sydney! Could do better cocktails but still 5 stars - A MUST GO!
P. L.
Lovely pizzas and a great view of the ferry's coming in. Nice patio area too.
R. B.
My place to take my girlfriend.or my wife
🤣🤣
D. B.
Good place to eat italian foods and it has good selection of wines and drinks ... pizza and pasta i liked most .. friendly environment.
1. F.
World class cuisine accompanied with silver service, without the superciliousness, that is typically on display across Sydney eateries.
J. B.
Awesome food and great view, Mick who looked after us was great. Best restaurant in Manly period!
R. D.
Food was good service could be a lot better. Little things like can I get you a drink shouldn't be like pulling blood out of a stone!
J. F.
It is just pizza that’s true but the atmosphere , cocktails and the cool crowd turn it into the best night out no matter what the occasion
G. N.
Nice food, fast and friendly service. Reasonable price for waterfront. Tight seating, and noisy. Poor ventilation.
E. d. C.
Overated, overpriced. The appetizers are excellent but not much quantity and the main are lacking more on the plate, garnish.
A. B.
Unlike most tourist traps.
Hugos deliver good food and drinks.
Great place to chill out.
J. S.
Meals are great. Can't make bookings though, during busy times be prepared to wait upto 2 hours for a group of 4
M. T.
Great views over the water, fantastic service (good looking staff too!) and nice food 👌
D. T.

M. S.
Great place, short wait. Really good food. Recommend a view sitting on deck.
A. C.
Great atmosphere, great food, great service, great location and great alcohol, but quite expensive. Still one of the best places in Manly for a good celebration.
