If you want to spend some time in nature and in between lush green forest then this is the place. The cottages are nice and cosy perfect for such location. You can have bonfire too on saturdays which further adds to the beauty of this place. My only concern was little bit of cleanliness that included cobwebs in room along bed side tables, under the bed and dust on fans but, overall it was a nice experience. Very friendly staff and i would love to stay at this place again!!

Fantastic place. Friendly and helpful management. Very peaceful. Clean rooms. Not a single drama, dispute or mild irritation.
Dog friendly (must be on leash for etiquette).
Was treated so well, next time will bring own bed cover, and towl for floor mat, because felt bad about dog hairs on pristine white linens. Plenty of wide open space to roam, and Bush tracks to explore.
Left my friend there and knew she would be %100 safe. Picked up a very happy young lady the next day.
Take ciggies away from communal area. It's worth the consideration.

Beautiful secluded place, first spot in a long time that I actually felt safe and relaxed.
Brilliant rooms and scenery, friendly helpful management made sure I had the best time possible and even made sure that I slept okay.
It was so nice I plan to visit once a week to take my dog (although next time will bring my own bed cover as I felt bad about my dog shedding fur)
Beautiful wildlife refuge also, so seeing all the birds and roos was great, it truly is a magical place that I will be telling EVERYONE to visit!

What a beautiful spot, it was a lovely cosy spacious cabin we stayed in. Adrian was very hospitable and we are so grateful, he looked after us so well and made our stay so relaxing. We will definitely be staying here again! 😊 Thanks so much Adrian.. Burke & Chantelle

We didn’t end up staying here, due to the festival we were planning to go to being cancelled by omicron, but, they made the refund very quick and easy for us. They were also accomodating to our needs when we had to change up a few things. Thanks!

Had been here with friends, location was quiet seems like in the middle of nature.
The staff members are very helpful and informative.Though there is AirCon and microwave was not there, rooms are equipped with all the necessary equipment like heater, fan, electric kettle, cups, wine 🍷 glass.
I would highly recommend this place.

Good place to unwind. Decent size rooms to fit the purpose. Very calm and clean place. Friday and Saturday evening bonfires are good to sit and have a few glasses of locally made wine.
Breakfast is usually continental, but cooked breakfast was available upon request. Dinner requirement has to be notified prior.
There are reatraunts and TA 20 minutes away, in Cessnock. Depends if you want to drive up and down for dinner on a cold night or have dinner at the retreat which will be subject to availability and prior notice.
The property has a small paddock with 2 horses, Magic and Fortune. Very friendly wild horses that will come up to you for a rub.
Property managers Paula and Hylton were excellent. Very friendly people to have a chat with.
Would go and stay again.

We had an amazing time at the resort with our puppy. Katrina and other staff were lovely. It is a serene location in beautiful bushland with lovely walks and a campfire available. The rooms are simple and clean. We enjoyed our breakfast and appreciated the gift of a bottle of wine. The resort is a half hour easy drive from Polkolbin which we appreciated as it was so quiet. Thanks we will be back.

My partner and I stayed here for our anniversary and it was really pretty! We've never stayed at a place like this so it was a nice change. The staff were lovely, the location beautiful. The room was basic but we didn't expect a 5 star hotel lol. We will absolutely be staying here again 🙂

My husband and I had a lovely time at the Retreat over the weekend. We were given the option of upgrading our Double Room to a One Bed Apartment and we were very glad we did. The apartment was very neat, clean and comfortable. Our continental breakfasts were brought to the room on the first night so we didn't even have to come down in the morning.
The site itself is very well-maintained, though perhaps sign-posting could be a little clearer, but we found our way. The location is beautiful and about equidistant between Cessnock and Kurri Kurri. It was a bit of a drive to either of these places but the scenery was beautiful so we didn't really mind.
Staff were very thoughtful and courteous and we had a really lovely time. Thank you for having us!

Nice and quite and our room was cosy and warm. Shame it was raining while we were there, would have loved to go on a bushwalk, hopefully another time, would definitely stay there again!!

If you want to getaway to a fabulous weekend away from city and work, this is the place. It is very well maintained and serene. It has BBQ, many board games, Table tennis and a campfire daily in the evening. Do recommend it!

Absolutely beautiful bush setting delicious food the menu is VERY limited of choice but the pizza is best we have ever had, freshly made damper dough bases amazing flavours Chef Angus is brilliant. The staff Paula and Hilton are do friendly and helpful they really want everyone to have the best possible time

The place is a great getaway. Right in the middle of Faraway From Work city. The nature is overwhelming especially if you are a morning person where you can observe early sunlight breaks into mist.
The staff is not so many but definitely friendly. Possibly you will check yourself out.
The villas are your best option for groups and big families. Studios and One bedroom apartments have limited capacity/amenities.
The Retreat has a bunch of old horses, tennis table, gas BBQ and couple of fire pits.
It's better to have your own drinking water as the water there is bit yellowish as it's mixed with tree leaves. A good idea also is having some snacks/food as the place is secluded.
Have fun.

The location was remote and really pretty. Very rustic but modern enough to be comfortable. The only negatives were that none of the rooms had air conditioning. All the staff were extremely nice and knowledgeable of the area.
I would recommend the venue to others.

Dinner not available even though advertised as available Friday and Saturday nights. Very peaceful and serene place with lots of space but location not ideal for single traveller. Friendly staff.

The place is lovely - the grounds, space & staff. I didn't try the restaurant but the only things I would say could stand to improve/be upgraded is the aesthetics/decor of the self-contained units & the attention to the details of cleanliness/hygiene

Exceeded expectation! Peaceful! Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the town . Just what a RETREAT should be! Very clean! The staff is very warm and welcoming, giving the place a homely feel. Can not wait to come back again .

Lovely location. Small and non-conditoned rooms was a bit tough in the heat. Close to Cessnock and Hunter Valley though.

Nice place if you're not looking for five star hotel. It's clean, staff is very friendly and helpfull, they have a lot of outdoor and indoor activities, there's also a restaurant... The rooms don't have a air conditioning, however, even in the hot day the rooms are cool. There's no kitchen, you have to go out to eat.
