We ate pork ribs,marinated garlic mushrooms and chicken Caesar salad. We have eaten here for years and this place is somewhat of an institution. The ribs marinade were all you could taste,there was no meat flavour. The chicken Caesar was rather coarse in that there were huge chunks of chicken with anchovies all in quite a rustic dish. Definitely unrefined but tasty. The garlic mushrooms were delicious. We drank sparkling mineral water. Still love the place and will be back mainly because of sentimentality but also for the food. Thanks for reading.

Sat down starving so decided to share the wagyu beef and a chicken burger - plus a bottle of sparkling water. Less than an hour and two clear plates later our original idea of sharing a dessert was not going to happen. Both totally and happily stuffed - couldn't even finish the water 🤣 We'll be back to try (sharing) the amazing looking rack of ribs that a few diners were tucking into.

We visited this place first time over Easter time. What I liked about this bar that the visitors are of different ages, mostly families and friends. However, It was so crowded that poor waiters looked stressed and definitely couldn't spend enough of time with customers even to take an order. Then we had to wait in a queue to pay the bill. Overall, I would recommend this place to visit in less festive times.

Food was average, going off other reviews I thought it would have been amazing. Our drinks took forever, then they forgot one of our drinks order. The guy taking our order was more focused on what was happening around him rather than our order. Daughters fettuccine was dry and my rocket & pear salad had 3 pieces of pear, 2 cherry tomatoes, hardly any parmesan and dressing was very tangy. Ribs were meant to come with a side but they forgot that too. Very average restaurant and wouldn’t go back.

One of my favourite restaurants in all of bondi! The wait staff, reception, and the food was absolutely amazing! I felt like my family was apart of the hurricanes family the second we arrived. A special thank you to my 2 x waiters Santi and Ross who were exceptional. They truly went above and beyond and raised the bar in terms of making myself and my family have a great night out. They were polite, attentive and so welcoming. Will definitely be coming back! Would recommend to anyone who’s ever around bondi to visit hurricanes!

Still the benchmark when comes to ribs. Cant tackle the full rack of beef like I used to but ill always give it a go. The gentleman who served was very friendly and helpful. Packed up my leftover ribs for me to take away. Excellent customer service. (Tuesday 2pm) My only recommendation would be make your sweet potato fries in hosue, but at the end of the day im only here for the RIBS, and they were great.

Okay, it hasn't change .. 2017 Used to be 5* When in Sydney, this used to be the "must-visit" institution for us Melbournians. Sadly it's not the case anymore, as it has lost it's authenticity and attention to detail on their steaks and ribs. Instagram # and followers are more important while the cost is skyrocketing just like the NASA space program. Focusing on their quality is on the back seat of franchising, a specialty no more, it has failed. No BYO too for that special occasion.

Oh my goodness, the food here is absolutely incredible! Such a lovely location and the staff are super friendly as well. My recommendations would be the grilled local octopus, lamb ribs and sweet potato fries. They also have a great selection of cocktails and mocktails. Decent and quick service. Good portion size (that's a half slab of pork ribs). Ok BBQ sauce and meat. We were told they didn't actually have some of the beers that were listed on the menu, so had to settle for a different choice. Very overpriced. Overall was an okay experience. Would consider going back if there were no alternatives.

I was with my 4 other friends having dinner in Hurricane's, we ordered garlic prawns, salt and pepper calamary and mussels for entreé, we love them so much! Especially the mussels! It's so creamy and really yum, should try and really recommended, for mains, we ordered 2 full pork ribs and they are massive! We also love the ribs, well, we came here for the famous ribs they have of course! And i would like to recommend the Mango Mango mocktails (non-alcoholic drink) soooooo good! And so fresh!! As I walked into the lovely 'Hurricanes bondi' with a group of my friends on a fanastic day, one of their birthdays, I saw a coloured friend of mine also walking in with a small alcoholic beverage, I also noticed the manager noticed and showed her concern, I never thought the roles couldnt be reversed in such a way that the white individuals would be shunned by the actions of one tanned man, I thought wrong, an extreme injustice was about to occur similar to 1800's America, we were all cut off our drinks... simply from the fault of one African american man. As such complaints ensued, we were then 'rewarded' with some lonely garlic bread unaccompanied by tasty beverages. I truly thought the injustices in the world could not continue after such a horrible period in the 1800's. I thought wrong. Great food, no idea about the drinks, thanks.

Have been to multiple Hurricane’s locations and Bondi was easily the best of the bunch! Their staff were awesome and so friendly - great service. We had a booking for my boyfriend’s birthday and they even surprised him with cake after dinner. Food was delicious, of course. Best ribs ever! They also have a great range of drinks and their cocktails are unique and beautifully presented. Favourite from the night was actually the blue cheese salad - definitely my recommendation as a nice side with dinner. And don’t knock the monkey gland sauce until you try it 😆 It’s really nice!

We were walking around looking for a place to eat and stumbled upon Hurricane's. It was busy but not packed so we decided to go for it. It has a nice patio area outside and the servers were very attentive. We were served quickly and the staff were very friendly and knew the menu well. I ordered the smokey burger and definitely wasn't disappointed. Although its definitely not a first date kind of meal (it was by no means easy to eat and just loaded with sauce and toppings) it was super tasty. The burger wasn't loaded with filler and was spiced perfectly. The smokey sauce, which I assume is the rib sauce, was really good. I can't stress enough that if you order this burger you will need an extra napkin - it more or less fell apart for the last 25% and I had to resort to a fork and knife. The only downside was the price - both the beer and food was a bit pricey. The burger was good, but it was just a burger and fries, $33.00 plus a $15 pint is definitely getting up there. Overall a good experience - would go back and try the ribs!

We are regulars to this Hurricanes since 2000 and of course the brand prospers and thrives and expands and one would expect such growth will result in a decline in customer service. We find service in this location more susceptible to such kind of decline given their transient workforce . Well, NO. On busy night like Saturday people have begun to enjoy the easing of COVID restrictions, your staff made an exceptional night out for us a group of 8 people. Manual, bartender, was moving a high chair to the back of the restaurant as we stopped him for drinks order, he dropped the high chair right away and took the order, not "I'll will be back or await a moment". Throughout the night we have every 5 mins a passing waiting staff checking in 'everything OK?" And asking for thumbs up. Now, that's sounds common sense but NO it's not apparently So, thank you guys you are the reason why we keep coming back for your $60 ribs!

The original and still the best (Hurricanes). Do yourself a favour and book - generally this place is completely full. I love the ribs here - best in Sydney. If you like ribs, this is the place to come. I have never tried anything else on the menu because their ribs are that good. I don’t typically order entree, sides or desert but I get a full rack and I barely get threw it.

I am a returning customer. This time we tried beef burger which was good as expected. Well cooked meat and lightly seasoned. Outdoor setting is nice. Price is on the high side due to location anyway. If it's busy you have to wait 30 min to get your food which is ok if not in hurry or drinking. Staff are too busy and in rush mode but polite. All of our glasses including water an cocktail glasses were smelly. The small from a dirty dishwasher or a drying towel.

Pork ribs are great! Ordered the lamb ribs too but didn't really fancy it, but well it's a personal preference as am no big fan of lamb. The started scallops comes in 4 pieces and are juicy! Kids had the junior fish and chips @ AUD12 and they like it!

Can't go past this place for consistent high quality burgers and ribs. Large servings, so don't be afraid to share, and they always deliver on what the menu states. Burgers are juicy and come with a great sauce selection. Borewors are a South African farmers sausage that's also great, but for me the pick is their pork ribs. The sauce is a winner. No one I have ever taken there has been disappointed, just make sure you book as the wait for a table can be excruciatingly long.

The ribs are so good. For me, half-rack ribs is enough. I recommend to pair it with the sweet potatoes rather than the french fries or mashed potatoes. The sweet potatoes fries taste so delicious. Reservation can only be made on certain hours. I called around 7 to make a reservation later that night, turned out they no longer accept reservation at that hour. So we had to come and put in our name, waited about 20-30 mins.

Great place for an expensive lunch after a day at the beach. I had the chicken sandwich, it was quite good. My girlfriend had the burger but she was more interested in my chicken sandwich. That said, her burger was good too. We sat outside, its quite comfortable. Clean bathrooms and nice wait staff. From what I understand there is a hurricanes that only serves take away just a couple blocks down, it might be a bit cheaper as well.

I've mostly eaten take-away from this bondi favourite as the restaurant is so busy that it's not enjoyable for me. The one night we did sit I , we felt like we were sitting with the people next to us, was quite awkward. In saying all this, the food is outstanding and the steaks, ribs and burgers are out if control. I like to get the baked potato with sour cream with my burger, but I'm never able to finish it all in one go. If you don't like a big burger order the junior, it's the same size bun with less meat. Gets busy for take away over the weekend and you can wait up to 45 mind, best to phone ahead and it's totally worth it!

I had heard a lot about this place from various sources, all of it positive with reference to the signature ribs and sauce. However, perhaps my expectations were built up too much. The ribs look impressive, nestling nicely on a big plate with heaps of special Hurricanes sauce, but their taste and texture are on a par with any other rib bar & grill; nothing special. There weren't as many chips as you'd expect either. Next time I will have a burger for something more substantial.

We had recommendations for this place and decided to give it a go when we visited Bondi beach. We had the full platter of beef ribs and I had the chicken burgen. We couldn't see what all the fuss was about.Maybe we had high expectations? Facilities only fair. Meals were so,so. Nothing special. My chicken was overcooked and I know it's a steakhouse but it's also the 21st century - some veg on the side wouldn't go astray. Service was friendly and quick.

If there's a better place for ribs in Sydney please share. Meanwhile, the Bondi store serves consistently excellent ribs. The BBQ chicken is just as good as the ribs. The prices have gone up a bit but come here with a group of friends to try a bit of everything without breaking the bank. The garlic mushrooms as an entree are highly recommended. It gets seriously busy on weekends, a 45 minute wait is not unusual. So book or be prepared to wait.

Be it summer or winter, this place is always packed. I think their ribs are the best in town, be it pork, beef or lamb, these ribs are marinated in their secret recipe sauce then cooked on an open flame grill, they are tender and smokey, simply amazing. When I go with friends, we always make sure we order a rack of ribs to share. Their garlic mushrooms is another dish that we always order, it has just enough garlic to make it tasty without being overpowering. Show up without a reservation usually means a lengthy wait, especially on weekends. If you don't feel like squeezing into the bar area for a drink while waiting, or just don't have the patience for sometimes up to an hour or more wait, then head around the corner and grab some food from their takeout joint and have a feast by the sea.

Visited Hurricane's Bar and Grill at Bondi Beach during my visit to Sydney. The place doesn't offer a beach view but it has one of the most awesome ribs. We tried Half a Pork Rib, which was grilled to perfection with their signature BBQ sauce, served with generous helping of fries. For those who wants to eat by the beach, you can try the Express takeout that is just situated round the corner.

Upon reading the reviews here I decided we would try the place. We ordered oysters kilpatrick for entree (not trusting natural oysters at a steak house), I had a full rack of beef ribs and my wife had the chicken breast with house basting. The oysters were terribly dry, lacking any Worcestershire sauce. A grilled oyster with no added moisture is a very dry affair. My ribs were the ultimate letdown as the reviews lead me to believe this was the strength of the restaurant. The meat was chewy and at times hard to separate and the ample basting was mediocre at best and at a place like this it really needs to be the standout. Make no mistake this is no Squires Loft, meat & wine co, or Tony Romas. I'm giving this 3 stars rather than 2 purely because they had Penfolds bin 28 on the wine list and its so damn hard to get a mid tier Penfolds when having dinner these days. In summary - Save your money and go somewhere else.

They are true to their name as they do probably make the best ribs in Sydney so worth coming here. They are generally busy every night but used this as an excuse when they forgot my meal and i was only just starting to eat my meal as the rest of my family were finishing them, so that was disappointing but won't deter me from coming back.
