K. P.Great to be out again after lockdown. Celebrated a birthday lunch at Jonah's restaurant. The restaurant boasts beautiful ocean views. good food presentation. Loved the flavours. We chose from the 3-course set menu. They have an extensive wine list too. I ordered a cocktail and it was delicious. Gorgeous setting with great views & service. I'd recommend a lunch booking if it's your first visit to take advantage of the spectacular ocean views.
d. p.My partner and I have been dining at Jonah’s for the last 18 years. We have seen lots of staff changes and amazing chefs. However, the experience has changed very little.
We enjoy taking our families both local and overseas to share this very special place with us.

L. F.Stunning view and lovely 3 course set menu. We started with titbit wooden box consisting 3 different appetisers. I feel this is un necessary as I dont like the taste of it. Bread and butter was served, this is a plus as we have dining in many top restaurants they do not provided it unless you pay extra. We had prawns and goat cheese tortellini, they were both delicious. Cotoletta and Lamb not disappointed either. Coffe cream delicious but it need more kick from the Bailey.

Our taxi up to the restaurant cancelled (no ubers available in the area) and we called the restaurant to see if they could help. Fantastic that they could. The woman who picked us up however was really rude and made us feel stupid and that we we’re putting her out. It’s a 10 min return trip…
Apparently Jonahs offers guest pick up from the ferry - which we had thought was for hotel guests only.
In any case we let her know our return ferry time for the ride back.
The view is amazing. Our sommelier and waiter were attentive in all the right ways - thank you!
The food was average - steak slightly over; fries underdone. The food overall was nice but not life changing. The bill was not offered to be paid at the table I had to pay at the counter - unusual for this level of restaurant.
At home time we were told no one could drop us at the ferry. And the table next door was also turned down because rides were only for hotel guests (very confusing). Luckily an uber popped up and we crossed our fingers it would not cancel. On the way out to meet our Uber another lady at the desk asked us if we were the people she was giving a ride to the ferry!!! Very confusing.

H.Million dollar view and solid food offerings. Service was professional and helpful. Food was good but not quite inspired. Parking can be an issue if the hotel and restaurant is near capacity. $110 for three courses is par for the course with that type of view and ambience but then again, if the weather is bad then it would be disappointing. Ditto a dark night.
C.Beautiful location. Wonderful rooms. Fabulous service. Comfortable, luxurious and welcoming. Lovely food (and people with coeliac disease well looked after). I had the best hotel deep tissue massage of my life. Note: the pool is not heated!
K. G.The view and prestigious reputation is what you pay for at Jonah's. We stayed one night and had dinner and breakfast. Although the food was delicious and service from all of the staff excellent, it was not to my taste overall. The restaurant experience felt stuffy, there was little vibe and the fit-out was very plain. For a hatted restaurant I expected more but thought it fell flat. Luckily the food was very tasty. I found the accommodation a little tired but when you're gazing straight out at the ocean it's quickly forgotten.

J. M.The view from Jonah’s restaurant is without equal. Book a window table for some uninterrupted spectacular views across the Northern beaches of Sydney. The food quality, knowledge and politeness of the staff and cleanliness of the restaurant is of the highest quality. I would strongly suggest booking for lunch rather than dinner for a first visit firstly to take advantage of the views but secondly, it would be somewhat difficult to navigate the narrow winding and sometimes steep approaches to the restaurant if unfamiliar with the area in the dark.
This is a high class restaurant with the best quality service and food quality and so your meal will be expensive in comparison to other suburban restaurants. I did feel the portions were somewhat small for the price asked.
Whilst not my thing, if you do enjoy wine with your meal, the wine list looked to be very extensive.

The hotel staff left a lot to be desired. For the cost of the stay, i expected great customer service experience and was bitterly disappointed. From the moment of greeting my husband & I with an up and down look through to a lack of details of our activities, being late to pick us up and drop us off, having to wait 20 mins to check out (as my bill was being prepared with multiple attempts) after id advised I’d be back to check out within ten mins.
They were not helpful, there were multiple errors throughout my entire booking & I was not made to feel welcome. The only reason I’m giving it 3 ⭐️s is the restaurant made up for a lot of the disappointment. I’ve stayed in some lovely establishments around the world & I would not recommend staying here.
A. A.A great place for a short stay-cation. The service we received from the hotel, restaurant and spa staff was all excellent. The room had a lovely fit out, and it’s an easy trip down to both Whale Beach and Palm Beach. Cocktails, dinner and breakfast were all wonderful. I would highly recommend spa services with Ellie - she was a great spa therapist with high quality products and a relaxing space.

My only reason for the loss of a star was we stayed the night before our wedding and even though we requested late check out cause our ceremony wasn’t until 12:30 ( a time dictated by the restaurant) we were told we had to check out at 11. This meant I had to use my friends accommodation up the road to get dressed and couldn’t have a make up artist come to the venue which created a bit of a hassle. Overall a lovely day but would recommend the hotel communicate better with the restaurant to have a package especially given it is a prominent wedding venue and I suspect a lot of people may find themselves in this situation unknowingly!
B. K.Amazing place that is definitely worth the drive from any part of Sydney. You are greeted by stunning views, and that is just the beginning. The staff are top notch professionals that clearly take pride in their work and it shows in the tiny details of your experience. The food is delicious with great portion sizes and the taste will leave you wanting more! Highly recommend the 3 course option and go for whatever dish takes your fancy at the time, you won’t be disappointed. The wine list may seem longer than War & Peace but the friendly staff will help you navigate it with ease. The perfect place for that special occasion and a reason to treat yourself.

F. H.We come here for our anniversary every one or two years. The food is always changing, and always great. Service is always excellent, as if they are watching you from far away, and yet not intrusive. Mentioned it was our anniversary and we got a little petite four at the end of our stay. The view is amazing even when it was cloudy, and a well kept small garden for our little one to play in. There was also a wedding proposal and baby shower on at the same time.
t. m.On arrival we were welcomed by the fantastic reception staff and shown around this beautiful boutique hotel. The view is spectacular and the recently refurbished rooms are stunning with all the best modern technologies you could ask for. We had a degustation dinner with matched wines in the restaurant. The food was fantastic (some dishes were out of this world!) and the matched wines were perfectly selected. The Sommelier was amazing. The time he took with us made for a great experience. The breakfast we had the next morning was also really lovely. Great food, coffee and juices.

V.Came here on a Sunday evening for cocktails and nibbles after spending the day at the beach. The view is absolutely breathtaking and only a short drive from palm and whale beach. Perfect venue for a special occasion or just to relax with friends and family.

Me and my fiance both ordered sparkling water and we were the only ones on our table to order it and the waiters were very careful not to top up our glasses with regular water. Very impressed by this. All service was prompt and friendly and all requests were addressed quickly and accurately. Food was very good but the wedding cake could have been served with some plates and dessert forks.

B. D.My wife and I had dinner here last night. Perfect finish to a relaxing day in the Northern Beaches. We both had the three courses with matching wine after starting with a cocktail. The portion sizes were generous but the most important thing was the flavour combinations. Hands done the best gnocchi I’ve had with duck which was very tasty without being too overpowering.
The pork and bug dish was also let to shine without drowning it in sauce.
The wines allowed us to try some non mainstream grapes so we’ll be looking out for these next time at the bottle shop.
Service was attentive and knowledgeable which is what we’d expect at a place like this.

A. G.The location of Jonas is utter perfection. Even on a bad weather day the view is sensational. Sadly, I feel this restaurant relies too much on their view and hasn't spent enough time on making their food great. For the entree I had the prawns and the main the John Dory. Unfortunatly both dishes were overcooked and disappointing. The espresso martini, which I love, also needs a bit of work. I'm sure I'll give this place another go in the future and really hope I enjoy it next time.

A. P.We recently shared a wonderful lunch at Jonah's, and it's easy to see why this restaurant is so highly regarded. The views are to die for, service was excellent and the wine list comprehensive. We shared the seafood platter's which were generally excellent - they did advise to have the cold tier last (Sashimi and Oysters) but personally I prefer them served a bit colder and by the time we reached that tier they were close to room temperature which isn't my preference.

B. V. G.I visited this place three years ago and remember a stunning meal then. Nothing much has changed and even though my favourite cocktail wasn’t on the menu, the restaurant team happily made it for me. The red China cocktail is vodka based with pureed raspberries, lychee and lemon. It is heaven.
The prawn entree, duck gnocchi, the lamb main were all wonderful. My pasta was a tad on the salty side (which I mentioned to the restaurant and took the feedback on).
If you can, get a table by the window as it has stunning cliff top views of Whale Beach. Stunning.
In short, I can’t wait to come back.

M.The breathtaking view, the moon shining on the sea, the relaxed atmosphere, the blankets draped over us by attentive staff as it became cooler on the balcony : made a convivial happy familiarity with other guests; and then there was the food. Excellent in all areas with beautiful wine for my wife as recommended by the sommelier. Sophisticated yet warm and friendly. Prices as expected for this whole experience but very good value for money. I wholeheartedly agree with others that Jonah's is one of the top restaurants in Sydney and a showcase to the world.
S. O.This is the second time we have been here but probably the last till they do a revamp. The staff are excellent but the furniture and decor is extremely outdated. Near our table it smelt like urine. If you go for a dinner service outside summer and fancy a drink on the terrace it's extremely cold outside, no heaters, no music and dark. This place has so much potential, the food is good but let down by small touches.
J. G.When you walk into the dining room you'll be struck by the amazing view of whale beach. If you come a bit early you can grab a drink on the patio... Highly recommended! We enjoyed a 3 course menu paired with wines and we all enjoyed the meal greatly. From surf to turf all courses were paired nicely and the service was impeccable. If there was anything to be faulted, we did feel that the lamb rump didn't live up to the standard of the other dishes.

We dealt with so many venues and vendors in the wedding industry leading up to our wedding, and we can confidently say that these guys were the only ones that were flawless with their service. Everything from communication through to payment reminders and everything in between, we can't think of a single moment that was handled poorly.
We booked knowing that the views were amazing, but the food is also top class, and the waiters were barely noticed through the night, but everything was promptly served and cleaned up.
My wife and I loved it so much, we can't wait to go back for anniversaries and relive our memorable day, and the Jonah's team was a big part of that! We have received a lot of feedback from our guests already, and all very positive about the venue, food and service! Thanks again!!

S. J.We were given a breakfast voucher as a present for Christmas. Although they had no space online they were really accommodating and found space for us. We were really lucky with the weather. The restaurant has sweeping views over Whale Beach. The food was excellent and the service incredibly attentive.
J. M.Breakfast may just be the best meal of the day here. With a set price per person, you are offered unlimited coffee/juice (unfortunately not freshly squeezed) a starter of pastries, fruit, berries, yoghurt and muesli and the choice of a delightful main dish. Exquisite views down the steep hills of Whale Beach and out to sea are as good as they come. Inattentive service (others were well attended to) was the only disappointing aspect.

We were looked after by the team along with also the food was magnificent. Each room has a view and if you're up to an start,the sunrise time has been published and put in our area. The sunset on the deck while sipping bubbles has been hot colors of pink and it seems just like you're out in a magical place.I'm searching for some excuse to remain.

We ended up sitting somewhere towards the back and not being able to see the view while we're eating. So I'd definitely suggest ask for a table with a view. I'd highly recommend coming here for a special occasion.

Last visited in November 2017 with a group of 7, unfortunately not seated in the main room (best spots near the windows). Standout dishes - the entree quail, entree prawns and the kingfish main. The oysters with caviar was a little underwhelming, although visually stunning. Service was as always impeccable, we had our desserts/coffee on the terrace, and even scored some extra rosemary honeycomb (dangerously addictive!). Views go without saying. Still remember a conversation stopping mille feuille on the the menu a few years ago - hope they bring that back.

My lady and I flew up from Canberra then from Rose Bay to Pittwater with Sydney Seaplanes. We spent the night at Jonah's before returning to the city the next day. And we loved it. The staff exercised a friendliness rarely seen nowadays, the food was a little too good (over indulged), the accommodation had a view to die for. And it was just plain wonderful. Hope we get the opportunity to it go again.

The highlight (for me ) was the Manuka Honey and Cinnamon Crumble with Confit orange, orange Bavarois, mandarin sorbet. Outstanding! Somehow they'd made the honey crytalized into mandarin shape which just melted in the mouth. It had tiny dianthus flowers which I picked out, and I'm glad I did bc I noticed little bugs running on the plate afterwards! a little protein! lol.
