Booked a table for 2 at 12pm on the 1st of Jan and the experience was fantastic. Great warm welcoming host, fantastic and attentive staff, and delicious looking and tasting food. The floor manager is helpful and all waiters that assisted us were vibrant, friendly and added to the experience.
The vegetarian selection is incredible so we will always come back for more.

My partner and I ate at Lotus Barangaroo for Valentines Day and ordered the Valentines Day Banquet.
$118 pp with a set menu and glass of NV Delamere Sparkling Rosé on arrival. The price is a bit steep but it’s Valentine’s Day and the set menu has 11 different meals in the banquet, well worth it if you ask me.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant and the location as well, Barangaroo is always a treat! Full reviews and thoughts are captioned on the photos so read on!
The staff at this restaurant are so helpful and attentive to us while dining also, always taking the finished plates away in a timely manner and checking in with us on the meal making sure we were satisfied with our experience.

Really good views just outside the restaurant, they have heaters above the outdoor seating area. We got the $119 set course for the night, it was definitely enough food, but not sure if it was worth it xD Taste was kinda average for me tbh, the first sashimi dish was my favourite though! I forgot to take pictures of every dish but most are here :) 10% surcharge for groups over 8 I think and we went on Saturday and it was quite busy and really loud there so if you wanted to have a nice quiet slow dinner then might have to think again!

Lovely outdoor venue in Barangaroo! Had some of the Mardi Gras specials which were very delicious! Peking duck was my favourite dish as well as the squid ink dumplings! Lychee mocktail was nice but not as sweet as it sounds - would recommend the floral mocktail if you prefer sweet drinks

This place is one of, if not, my favourite place to dine at in Barangaroo. The view from this place at sunset is just gorgeous but unfortunately, we missed it this time round.
The banquet is the easiest thing to order, as you get to experience some of their signature dishes. We went for the $89 banquet which seemed pretty generous serving wise!
We started off the evening with ‘Tasmanian Ocean Trout sashimi with apple ponzu, pickled mustard seeds and shiso’. It was absolutely gorgeous. Fresh and the mix of flavours was just divine.
We were then served some ‘Vegetable and tofu spring rolls’ which were nice and crispy on the outside.
Next came the dumplings, ‘Lobster, scallop & squid ink’ and ‘BBQ duck & spinach dumplings’. I mean, I could eat a thousand of the squid ink dumplings as they’re my favourite!
The ‘Singapore chilli soft shell crab’ is always a winner for me. There is just enough chilli to give the dish a little kick but not ruin the flavour of it. Squeeze a little lime and lord, it’s heaven in your mouth! I only ask they should double the serving because it’s so good.
Then came the ‘Wok fried black pepper beef with broccolini, corn and truffle oil’, ‘Steamed fish fillet with ginger and shallot’ and ‘Steamed Asian greens’. The beef was cooked to perfection and was full of flavour. The fish was cooked very well but the flavours were nothing to get excited about. Both dishes paired well with the steamed greens and boiled rice though!
Not included in the banquet, we ordered some dessert to finish off the evening. ‘Mango sorbet, coconut foam, rice crackle, blueberry & ume.’ When it came to the table, we were a little underwhelmed by the presentation until we took a spoon to it.. the colour inside just popped! It was fresh and it’s exactly what we needed after dinner.
If you haven’t been to this place yet, book a table and try and get it just as the sun sets. It’s just gorgeous.

Location is very good with water view. I picked the place for our team lunch because all tables are outdoor, which is safer during covid. We tried $99 banquets. The portion is big and everyone enjoyed the dishes. There are half Asian and half non-Asian in our team. All dishes are nice with a few that really surprised us. The masterstock crispy pork with Thais Chili caramel is amazing! I never tried a crispy pork belly in this taste. The pork is so tender and the chili caramel brings me to haven. Eggplant is another highlight. Normally eggplant tastes good with lots of oil especially in Asian cooking. Interestingly this eggplant is tasty but not oily at all. Not sure how did the chef marinated the taste into it. I love it!

Oh my gosh, this was a really good meal!
Our group of 5 ordered shared dishes including dumpling entrees (soft and tasty), build-your own duck pancakes (crispy and fresh), beef short ribs (nice and soft), Salt and Pepper Tofu with a sesame sauce, and Kung Pao chicken (spicy) with a side of fried rice.
We all agreed that it was a delightful lunch.

All dishes are up to 110% Asian cuisine standard and even exceeded, as tasted amazing. Just no good service. We waiting for a good 30mins to order our food (understand it’s a Friday night night c’on you could do better)

Their veg dumplings and bao’s were absolutely amazing. All 5 of us enjoyed our food a lot. We didn’t eat desserts though, but entrée and mains were delicious.

Location location location just in the heart of the Barangaroo precinct surrounded by the magnificent harbour and other restaurants
Food selection is great though easier to just go banquet when dining with a large group.
The quality of food and presentation is wonderful and the servings are extremely generous. One cannot possibly leave this place on an empty stomach.
The service is amazing! Maurice was our waiter. Wonderful all the way making sure his guests were well taken care of and left with a feeling of utmost contentment after dining at Lotus!
I was there with s large group and we were sat around a round table so our conversations were easy and food easy to share.
I would have no hesitation to strongly recommend dining at Otis when next in this beautiful part of town. Whether it’s for lunch or dinner you must add this place to your list of “must dine at “ places whether alone or as a couple of with loads of friends.

Dedicate Chinese/Asian food with stunning water view, friendly staff and the prices are worthwhile. 6 people went for the $99pp banquet and had 14 courses. Each course was beyond the traditional taste but not hard to accept but impressive. We thought the dessert would be a simple one to end this however it still turned out to be a thoughtful lemon sorbet with passionfruit yogurt bavarois. Enjoyed the dinner very much, booking recommended.

However, you are limited to the coconut sago dessert (which is really below average, the ingredient can be utilised much better). We had a fantastic experience dining at Lotus Barangaroo for lunch on a weekend. The staff were so helpful and every interaction had a smile. The food was delicious, we opted for a number of smaller starters rather than mains between the two of us. We had the Pork wontons (steamed), prawn calamari ginger dumplings, soft shell singapore crab, Peking dark pancakes and the calamari and enjoyed a couple of cocktails and one which came out with a sparkler for my birthday (Art of the Tart, Summer Breeze, Pinot Pandora, Lychee martini) and a great glass of white wine. The staff help with our meal choices and also gave advice on our drinks. We were seated at the front of the restaurant and as the sun came over we were in the direct (hot) sun so the waiter even moved us to another table that was more shaded!!! Would highly HIGHLY recommend as a great location and venue to enjoy a special meal.

Hey - it’s Barangaroo - so expect to pay more than what you normally would anywhere else. We sat for lunch today and shared 5 serves of dumplings between 4 of us. We ended up paying $24 per head without drinks and even though the dumplings are fresh and the served piping hot, I didn’t give five stars because I expected a WOW factor for the price. Fresh ingredients and you get chunks of prawn in your dumplings but they serve on wax paper which means the dumplings always stick. Would expect something more traditional like serving on a slice of carrot. Overall nice service and great view watching the boats and business people scurrying about.

Really cool spot to enjoy some views of Sydney while having an upscale dish. I ordered the slow cooked smoked beef short rib. For $52 AUD, I was hoping this would be a substantial portion size and it was more than enough! The staff was friendly and service was relatively quick. Great spot!

If you like amazing dumplings, steamed buns, sous vide style beef ribs and the option to add shaved truffle to your dish, Lotus is the place for you. Try the squid ink blue swimmer crab and scallop dumplings. Don't forget the mouth watering beef ribs. The meat is so tender, you can pull it appart with chop sticks. We were fortunate to enjoy fast, attentive and friendly service. Thanks for a great lunch to the Lotus team.

Wow, great place for dumplings and delicious Chinese meals. The special was rainbow (celebrating Mardi gras) dumplings with lamb and snow peas and they were perfection. The prawn, calamari and ginger were also great. The tea smoked duck with plum and lychee was also really tasty. Though the best was the crispy sweet and sour pork with cabbage salad. The staff were also really friendly and efficient and the drink selection good. New favourite restaurant in Sydney and I will recommend to all my guests.

Had an amazing dinner here, with top service from someone named Macy. We had the bbq pork dumplings with spinach and the vegetarian dumplings as well, and they were god teir. We also had the crab fried rice and the Kung Pao chicken, and it was amazing, the kung pao chicken was so delicious with an amazing texture with just enough sauce. Lotus Barangaroo delivers Chinese cuisine in an innovative and refined manner. The dishes looked amazing, and tasted just as good! With the backdrop of Sydney Harbour and the hive of activity with Barangaroo increasing, Lotus is an idyllic spot for lunch or dinner. I enjoyed the BBQ Duck and mandarin pancakes with a miso sauce. The char siew is delicious too. For something different, the crystal ice plant is definitely a textural tasting experience.

Attentive and professional waitstaff and a great dining experience. I’ve dropped a star because of a seemingly lax approach to the Covid-safe checkin. Apart from the first person to arrive, with the rest of us checking in progressively over 10 minutes, nobody checked our check-in or vax status. This needs to be tightened up please.

Our waitress came across a bit hostile to start and was not very attentive as we waited a while before she wrote down our order - but wasn't a big deal for us. So impressed with the level of care from the chef. One of our party was lactose and preservative intolerant. The waiter asked the chef for options and came back with this edited menu. Location - exceptional ambience and outdoor setting
Service - was served by a lovely lady - forgotten her name, but her service was fantastic. Unfortunately one of the other male waiters that served us lacked in English which could serve as an important role in customer service. When we arrived at the restaurant we waited 15 minutes just to received our menus which had been forgotten and was quite upsetting. However, we waited no more than 15 minutes for our food to come which was great!
Quality - we had low expectations due to the fact that you can get Chinese food for Less than half the price in western Sydney but the food here was so worth it, every bite exploding with flavour!
Also noted how extremely packed out the restaurant was compared to all the other restaurants beside it!
Highly recommend and can't wait to come back! Compliments to the chef 👏

The only issue was that they forgot half of the order!! Huge let down, and left us without a full meal - glad to say they eventually refunded us, but not much else was done to rectify the situation. Hoping this was an issue on Providoor's part, as I'm a big Lotus fan!

We initially queue on the edge of the establishment beside a menu with other randoms for 10 mins while we saw staff walk past us several times, left thinking the place very rude. Walked past an hour later and noticed there is a central station where service was prompt. So mainly customer error in this case. Maybe worth better signage though.

Beautiful high quality dishes with incredible flavours. Decent size portions for the main dishes so you won't leave hungry. Food arrives promptly and there was no pressure to eat quickly for the next seating. Outdoor seating only which on a hot humid night can be quite uncomfortable if there is no breeze. We were there for my friend’s birthday dinner, and we had great dining experience.
The waiter who looked after our table, he was friendly and attentive. He gave us some recommendations on menu, explained the specials of the day and followed up on us to check if we’re having good time.
Every dish we order was amazing, but if I have to pick one I would recommend Peking duck. I don’t really eat duck, but I enjoyed this Peking duck very much. We also ordered dessert dishes and asked for a candle since it was my friends birthday. When they served us the dessert, they came with 3 people and sang happy birthday for us. We didn’t expected that much so we’re surprised but I think it was very nice and made the day very memorable.

We came for a casual Saturday lunch and were absolutely delighted by the quality of the service and food. We started with the squid ink dumpling, full of crab and scallops. An outstanding dish, that was wonderfully prepared with nuanced flavours. The fried rice with spanner crab is a must, along with perfectly spiced green beans. We also had the Morton Bay bugs with a buttered pepper sauce and were equally blown away. This is a great place, great food and great staff.

The hostess there was incredibly impolite, and told us to go and wait till our booking time as we came early when there was places to sit down. To say I would go there for the food is a dramatic overstatement. I live out west and consider myself a foodie and this my friends is an average place for food. Not bad, but if you have to travel to get there you will have passed better, cheaper alternatives.
We expected the price tag of about $900 for 8 people but I must say your paying for location.
I will say that the staff were amazing and helpful. They stopped us from over ordering which was great and they made recommendations on the food.
The place looks great and modern but nice walls and a chair are not filling my belly.

Following dinner, Mao noticed it was my birthday and shortly after with our dessert the servers all sang happy birthday to me. They even wrote happy birthday Tiana in chocolate letters on the plate. It was a delightful surprise and I felt extremely special.

Love it! Have been there several times. Food never disappoints, great selection and flavours. Always consistent and a great venue for larger groups with the banquet menus being generous. Highly recommend it if you want a great Asian meal!

Starter and dumplings were amazing but the service was bad and the mains were poor for the price. Setting is good but expected a lot better considering the previous reviews.
Waitress never asked how the food was, never cleared away dirty plates when we had finished with them, (and this attracted bugs) and never came to ask if we wanted more drinks.
Some mains were tasty like the wagu stir fried beef, but the noodles we got were mostly cabbage (very small portion of actual noodles) and the grilled chili whole fish was way too salty (too much red bean paste used for the sauce).
The soft shell crab starter was delicious (as good as you get in Singapore) and the squid ink dumplings were really tasty, but unfortunately this wasn’t enough to make up for the rest of the expensive meal. Much better places available in the area.

I've been to Lotus QVB on two occasions and was pleased with them. I would've thought it would be better at Barangaroo with the views (which was good), but it just wasn't. Firstly, there seems to be some unreasonable rules about the $49 banquet coming from the chefs, not so much the wait staff. Oh well, we did order individual dishes and it was delicious. Only minor issue with the steamed fish is that we were told it would be snapper, but the chef changed the fish at the last minute without letting us know. It was still good, but come on, that's a no-no for hospitality. I would like to give it another shot but I might just stay with The Galeries franchisee.

Had a late afternoon lunch on Sunday here and it was excellent. We had the BBQ duck and greens dumplings, mushroom spring rolls, fried noodles with XO sauce and sweet and sour pork, plus some rice on the side. The dumplings were superb - with lots of flavour. I enjoyed the noodles, which were combined with fresh shoots and herbs, and appreciated the waitperson suggesting we have the XO sauce on the side so our toddler could have some too. The pork wasn't what I expected - it was belly pork and was very rich - I think it would have been great shared with a larger group as it was too much for us (and we eat a lot) because it was so rich. It came with a lovely sharp fresh salad that helped cut through the fat and the overall flavours were good.
The service was outstanding - friendly and professional and they went out of their way to make us and our toddler comfortable and make sure we were warm on a windy winter afternoon. We had plenty of space despite having a pram and it was a lovely experience. Wait times for food were good too. I would definitely go back and try more from the menu - it's great modern Chinese / Asian.

Lotus Barangaroo is a dining experience. I keep coming back as it never disappoints.
It’s in a great location, lovely water views. Close to the Sydney CBD. It’s about a 10min walk from wynyard station. It’s alfresco dinning so wear something warm if it’s in winter.
The dumplings are not your traditional yum cha style. These are exquisite fusion dumplings packed with lots of flavor. Therefore they are a little more pricier than your standard yum cha joint. It’s worth every dollar though! You get amazing food, ambience and service.
They also have great vegetarian options. The dishes are small but it means you can order more, to try the many different options available. Cocktails are delicious.
Highly recommend for a special occasion, work lunch or just catching up with friends and family.

My friend and I and our two beloved pups took the ferry from Rose Bay to lunch here for the first time. What a fabulous experience! From the warm welcome from the lovely Hostess Karen, to the amazing service from our divine waitress Annie, we had a delicious and memorable lunch. The food was divine, as were the drinks, but the service from these two ladies made our day. We chose all their recommendations and were not disappointed. Fabulous seafood dumplings, squid ink dumplings, salt and pepper squid, oysters and crispy skin chicken. Whilst we were so full we couldn't go past the duck fried rice as well. Had dinner for my dad’s birthday last night. They were very accomodating and flexible when we wanted some of us to have the banquet menu option and a la carte for the kids since they won’t be able to eat the banquet. The food is better than your average Chinese style food but that difference comes at a price and I was not convinced it is worth the premium expense. I had read that service was an issue before I visited but I am happy to say that our server was outstanding and recommended some great dishes, so no worries on that point. The food is tasty and super fresh, so its a case of whether you think its worth the extra expense compared to some of the excellent eateries found in areas like Ashfield, Strathfield and Cabramatta.

Because of covid we've had to move most of our wedding celebrations in Melbourne to next year. But since we didn't want to be defined by COVID-19, we decided to do a mini wedding and celebrate the milestone through dinner.
We struggled with locking in a venue due to covid. We were turned away by many venues because they couldn't accomodate the small group of people in my wedding party. But the Lotus Barangaroo made arrangements that met with the COVID-19 regulations, but at the same time, made us feel like a valued customer - not just turning us away.
On the day, there was a mix up with the booking time, but Marvin made it so we could seat at our preferred time. Marvin and the staff were so attentive to our needs and definitely made our wedding night memorable. It's amazing how much a small gesture of kindness and understanding can make a big difference in people's happiness. Again, a big big thank you to Marvin and the staff of the evening on 10.10.20 for making our wedding dinner special.

I did find however that the dishes took a long time to be prepared and be served (around about 1hr for mains). The view and ambience of this restaurant really draws you in. Looking out to the harbour while enjoying great food and wine is what Sydney's all about. The scenery and character of the place is complimented by its amazingly fresh food. From great dumplings to fresh seafood, you can't go wrong with what ever you choose to eat. Disappointingly the table service really lets this place down. It seems like there is a lack of floor management as the coordination of the different areas of the restaurant is almost non existent. Waiters / Waitresses don't communicate well with each other. We had several example of food and drinks coming out at the wrong time. We requested additional lettuce with our san toy bau which came 20 minutes later and after asking 3 different staff members by which time we has already eaten the lettuce mix. 10 minutes later another serving of lettuce arrived on our table after all the food had been cleared off. On several occasions we attempted to get staffs attention when walking past out table but none of them were attentive enough to make eye contact. The sommelier sporting a pair of speed dealer glasses looked like he had been of a three day bender celebrating Australia's Ashes win. I actually didn't realise he was the sommelier till later on in the evening after asking him a question about the food menu. He rocked up to our table at the star of the evening asking for our drinks orders while providing no insight into the wine list what so ever. I might consider coming back to this restaurant during a more quite period but beware unless you get one of their better staff members your service is probably going to be substandard. I’m

An absolutely delightful lunch!
This is the sort of food you get in fine diners in Hong Kong and Shanghai. It's not at the top of the fine diner tree the way some of those places are, but it's at a level where, really, you wouldn't be ashamed to take anyone there for lunch.
And a great location - on the water - but until the trees grow up, some of the tables at the edge might get a bit too much sun in certain weather.
We had the Iceberg Salad (because Google Maps reviewers said it was good) and it was a crunchy, cool, umami-rich delight, precisely proportioned for two.
Then the salt-and-native pepper tofu - nicely crisp on the outside and deliciously moist within, with lovely flavours and a hint of heat - and the Lotus Fried Rice.
In China, fried rice is a delicacy, and this was. Lovely egg (but chunky, not really golden threads, as Chinese gourmets might prefer), tiny pieces of duck meat and skin, some peas, green herbs, mustard seeds ... great.
The wine list is interesting, but at lunch we abstained. We had the Lychee Iced Tea, which was not sweet and so was a nice match with the food.
A bit slow taking our orders, but after that the service was spot-on.
$68 for two, and complimentary sparkling water to start.

Caught up with one of my friends while I was in Sydney for a week with work. We absolutely loved Lotus! The service was lovely and the sommelier was very helpful in assisting my friend with her white wine choice. I can't recommend the $49pp banquet vivid special enough. The food was absolutely delicious and my biggest favourite was the special crescent moon icecream for vivid. It tasted like a mango Weiss bar but only much much better! Please please please keep this dessert on your normal menu! We will be back and will bring more friends so we can try the bigger banquet hehe

5th time dining w Lotus Barangaroo w a few friends around 1 month ago. Food standard has always been consistently fresh. Loved the dumplings, such as squid ink dumplings w seafood or duck&spinach dumplings ect. Also, recall that fish w gingers shallots was also lovely. Vegetarian-friendly too.
Service was fairly efficient despite twice on Sundays when we did not book in advance, we had to drink at Love.Fish bar waiting for their call. Understandably it's a popular resto...
Perhaps Lotus might try to expand their seating capacity to be as large as its younger "half sister" Fujisaki?

What an amazing place.
It began with the ambiance. what a magical setting, the place was fitted with multiple shades of white contrasted with lightly coloured furnishings. Your sense of smell heightened by the beautiful aromas exiting the very busy kitchen.
The menu with its perfect texture was well spread-out and very legible. So many options to choose from, Dumplings, Starters, Seafood Vegetarian the list was endless. It was then when I decided I would speak to the head chef and find out which option was best for me. I walked up to the waiter and asked to speak the head chef. He informed me I would need to go inside and ask for him.
Upon entering I noticed a door that said, “do not open ever”. Drawn to this door I could not help but grasp the door handle. I twist and pull.
The Door opens and from within a bright all-encompassing light blinded me for a couple of seconds. Finally my eyes adjusted, revealing a lake, surrounded by a lush, mysterious forest. To the right there was a driveway leading to what seemed to be a racetrack. In the distance you could see a green building with smoke bellowing out of the chimney.
Suddenly I hear some rustling and from behind a tree I hear a voice. “that building you see in the distance is the lotus factory” I turn and see an old frail man wearing a grey suit and a tie. “in that factory they make all things lotus, including the lotus cars, the lotus flower, and the lotus restaurant food”
“are you the head chef?” I asked, my voice trembling.
The once frail old man then stood up tall and with a thundering voice he yells
“I am the head chef, the founder, the CEO, I am everything lotus, for I am Colin chapman”
At that point terrified I began to run towards the door. Without looking back I blasted through the door and emerge back into the bustling restaurant in Sydney’s CBD. I hurry back to my chair and notice the banquet is already served.
I begin to indulge in the abundance of food available. I finish and make my way home.
What an experience.
I loved all the food, nut my pick would have been the 200g of tajim wagyu sirloin with heirloom tomato, crispy leeks and truffle oil.
Oh and the spring rolls. You must have the spring rolls.
