Comments of McDonald's Thornleigh
J. Q.
Good service, machines all work well, great toilet facilities. Was very fast and efficient and I had a good McFlurry.
The tables/seating allow covid safety, as people are not allowed to sit right beside each other, and there is also a lot of seating available.
There is also quite a lot of parking available too!
R. W.
The food felt bland as there wasn't sufficient sauce on the burger. They also didn't offer me napkins, nor were they easily found.
P. V.
I love this location because they are open 24/7, so it's convenient especially on late night meetups with friends.
However, I was disappointed the other day when they made my spicy chicken burger wrong twice (first they gave me a beef burger and then a chicken burger that wasn't spicy). What made me upset however was that they threw away the burgers that weren't touched rather than letting me eat it and say giving a refund or free item/sauce. I hate food waste.
G. W.
Huge Communication issue, with the young girls last night, at the drive thru.
Frustration and rudeness doesn't come across well.
Wasn't the girls night last night.
But could have been avoided if you understood the simple order.
Longest 5mins to get my order across to them.
Please listen girls your shifts could be more enjoyable.
Thankfully to the Manager on who done this within 1min.
L. C.
Long drive-thru lines today but they moved quickly. Staff are friendly, had a short wait for the food but it was fresh and hot. Good coffee which came extra hot as ordered. Well done Maccas Thornleigh!
M. O.
Nothing special, but I got what I ordered, and in a relatively timely fashion for an okay price. Drive through. Nuggets, a burger and a drink... C'mon it's fast food. What more can I say. Well done Maccas, glad you're open late. Cheers.
S. M.
As McDonald's headquarters is opposite, they trial new menu items, etc here first. Big store, lots of space, but no entrance off Pennant Hills Rd, just turn left at lights beforehand going north into the parallel street
D. H.
Interior is very sterile and not all that welcoming . Placed order on machine, which I always find very impersonal. After order completed and paid using card at the machine, my number was called to be advised at 3.30 in the afternoon no cheese toasties available, would I like to pick something else. Staff member was abrupt and when I changed order to another item waived charging me the difference. It appears that this was put on another ticket but I was not informed so when this ticket number was called it took a while for me to realise that this item was mine. This move to semi self serve is souless and unfriendly, and if you stand back and watch how people behave they are lost and unsure what to do and where to go once order placed. At least this store has the space to accommodate a few persons waiting when busy, but other stores are dominated by the kiosks that take up the entry and waiting areas. It is a shame that the face to face interaction when placing your order is gone. McDonald's please bring back your customer service and get rid of the self serve kiosks.

My normal takeaway place. Gets it right most of the time and fairly good in general. Wraps are very sparsely done with lettuce and fillings though - so ask for extra filling/lettuce. The app order works seamlessly here.

We dropped in the Thornleigh McDonald's after a rather unsatisifying dinner at a place nearby on Saturday Night.
The McDonald's was located on Pennants road, although the entrance is on the other side of the block (a parallel st) so it might be confusing if you're not from the area. We ended up parking in Bunnings as we weren't sure how to get in as the Google directions wasn't helpful on this occasion. The car park itself is a pretty good size and I'll imagine it will be enough even in peak times. The design and layout is very nice and colourful, it hits you minute you go in. There are just menu stations all over the place, at the entrance and in front of the counter. I've never seen so many. There also a couple of table signs on each. The McCafe is located on the other of the room to the main counter. There are plenty of seats inside and several tables outside. The playground outside seems like a decent sized one too!
We only came here for the sundae and frozen Coke as our desserts as the place nearby was too expensive for us. For such a big place and a fair few staff it took about ten mins to get our order which is a pretty long time. Slow service seems to be the main concern of this place. Otherwise the place is really nice, well laid out, spacious and clean!
Overall, it has a nice vibe and it's cheap, although it doesn't do it's main purpose which is fast food. It was 830pm on a Saturday night though but it didnt look very busy when I was waiting at the counter. Probably won't be back as I'm not from the area but I don't mind coming back if I'm here again.

Consistent high standards across food and drinks! Sometimes the line can be long in drive through but I guess that means other people agree with me. Keep it up!
D. C.
Service a bit slow at counter. Cafe coffee took longer as my number came up after 2 later Numbers. Not sure the double bacon mcmuffin was actually that. So lesser standard than expected.
B. A.
One of the cleanest and neat Maccas I have ever been!
As a parent, ur playground facinates me and my boys love it so much!
Thank you! And keep it up!
K. P.
They’re the second-best McDonald’s in the north, with Waitara being the top. Thornleigh gets your order right, neatly, and have friendly staff at drive thru. Excellent baristas too.
S. Y. F.
the food was great, it is right next to the head office.
but if u are collecting a set of happy meal toys or coke glass etc you might want to go somewhere else
the allocation can be like hit and miss here
N. A.
One of the best! Always one of the first with new menu items. Double drive-thru lanes. Always clean and fast friendly service. I often pop in for a coffee, a hash brown or raisin toast!
M.
The most generous McDonald’s I have ever come across. Truly the gold standard, and setting a high bar as part of the NSW headquarters
P. C.
Decent place for late night grub.
K. L.
Great McDonald’s. Big and bright restaurant. Clean and fast service. They have (Sono?) Speakers installed and played some good music too. Outdoor area and playground for kids are well maintained as well. Parking is a little bit short though, they do offer another parking but it’s a little bit walk from the restaurant. If you don’t mind that, this McDonald’s won’t disappoint you when you on the road.
Overall is a great experience at this one. Great job.

located next to busy road. You have to drive through the side street to go to this Macdonald. Losts of parking and sitting available. Good service, lots of selfservice kiosks and drive through open till late. loosing points are parking area not clean. inside tables and toilets are good conditions.
S.
Too busy order wrong but was too hungry so just ate it. Drive through took 40 mins in line. 😫😫😫
A. M.
Used to be a great McDonalds, but recently they made a couple of changes that are disappointing. The removal of any employee-to-customer interaction is somewhat depressing, especially when the store is quiet.
I personally don't mind using the self service kiosks, but after ordering I was questioning if any other humans were in the building with me. I think it would be beneficial for the kitchen to be opened up towards the front area a bit more so I can see that somebody has noticed me, and the waiting area feels less depressing.
K. R.
For a maccas everything was perfect from staff to quality of food. Some stores qsc has gone down since covid, bit not this one
F. O.
Went to drive through. Found that one item was missing when we got home.
Happened again a second time. Can't blame being very busy because both occasions very few cars.
In all fairness, have never had a problem before when we eat in.
R. V. d. P.
The service was fast, but the bacon and beef party were so greasy I dried it of with a napkin. Result in photo. Napkin was only used for fat, nothing else. They did refund the burger, so updated review to 3 stars. Was 2 before.
C. E.
Place is packed when I came. We've ordered 2 Big Mac Small meal packages. Table service. Love it. Got the table with power points and USB sockets. But noisy tho with their music selections.
S. P.
Clean place to relax with nice coffee.
The staffs are very helpful and nice!!
J. J.
Very big and busy McDonald's. Seems to be one of the first McDonald's to try some of the things before introducing them to other restaurants. Has head office next door.
T. C.
Best Macca's in the country, not surprised with head office right next door
D. L.
Always get what you expecting, fast and reliable!
J. G.
It's macca's roboticly made food at least it's consistent , always a good place to grab a coffee , food or just to stretch your legs.
M.
The most generous McDonald’s I have ever come across. Truly the gold standard, and setting a high bar as part of the NSW headquarters
I. V. A.
They got a big order right.
j. h.
A good place to stop between drives
S. A.
Always good as it's the head office!!
K. T.
This store is modern and staff try hard to be friendly - more so than other stores. No complaints about this store. Has an interesting fresh food area that I haven't seen in other stores. Food is good. The menu includes Cafe Breakfast that I've never seen before and when orderd it the board shows a cappuccino next to it. When I got the order - no cappuccino! I asked the staff to double check and it doesn't include it. FFS! Dont show the photo of the item if it's not included!

Very convenient for drive through...

J. L.
Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun.
K. K.
Best McDonals burger I've had I years
J. D.
Drive through has been very slow lately
M. D.
Spotlessly clean, fast service, good parking but food doesn't match the photographs unfortunately. Bought a chicken Caesar wrap assuming it would be a healthy choice, chicken was deep fried dark brown and the lettuce was a soggy few pieces, disappointing
R. T.
In terms of McDonald's, one of the better ones I've been to. Although after a certain time, when it becomes drive thru only, the quality does tend to drop. Unless you're here for a late night feed, I'd recommend coming before 10
A. H.
They do their best always to make the customer happy.
s. D.
Very good variety very friendly staff
P. C.
Decent place for late night grub.
P. C.
Wow. They were so busy . Can't believe they didn't lose there mojo
S. N.
This is probably one of the busiest McDonald’s restaurants in Sydney and can get crowded at peak times. Food-wise it’s the same menu as every other Maccas in the country, so you know what you’re going to get. Other than that it’s a convenient stop for a feed as it’s the last food option before heading north before you get on the M1 freeway.
M. W.
Large with a good sized carpark, lovely outside seating too, kids play area and an excellent drive through. Its accessible from side streets, not the very busy Pennant Hills Road.
I do recommend it...
C. H.
This is a special Maccas, new products get trialed here first ( since they are so close to Maccas HQ)
G. S.
Excellent service with very clean facilities.
J. G.
This is a very busy and popular stop before going on the M1... Manages to keep fresh and lively but toilet cleanlines struggles with the volume. Toilet floors are constantly wet I think its the design of the basins and dryers.
T. B.
Crispy Bacon McOz Burger was very good, fries good temperature but rather tired & limp, the young crew member was friendly & helpful, toilets less clean than usual. Their carpark is one of the best Maccas ones ever.☺
I wish Maccas would ditch the drab grey & white environment & put the red back in - the splashes of yellow are nice but not enough to lift the gloom of Covid-burdened times!
S. H.
You’ll get the usual fantastically delectable McDonalds experience here but one point of difference is that the self-service kiosks have coin and note machines in addition to their electronic POS which is a long awaited addition!
Side note: Would have given 5 stars but my self-service receipt didn’t print ... again 🙄
W. D.
Best Tesla store and the main one in Sydney. Staff here extremely friendly. I took a test drive here and the experience was flawless.
B. D.
I frequent this Maccas quite regularly, mostly for a morning coffee. Sometimes it’s packed and there are always plenty of staff on and they try their best even under pressure. If I go for lunch and get table service I often have to get up and grab my own napkins & straws which is annoying though. Their self-serve kiosks aren’t always reliable either, forcing you to queue with only one maybe two registers open. Being right across from their head office I would expect this restaurant to be as perfect as could be, but it’s not the case unfortunately
S. S.
Grilled chicken burger was nice.
Love the chocolate frappe.
self ordering stations made it easy to place the orders. Fast service.
T. B.
It's a typical McDonald's although being head office, I'm surprised some of the prices are higher than other locations
H. W.
Had a bit of a slow service, cause the chicken wasn't cooked, but I was made aware that it was going to take 4.5 minutes and was asked if I was OK with it.
The burgers were prepared in a rush and was a bit of a mess.
D. Z.
Food delivery is quick but not always accurate. I would appreciate grill slips to be followed a bit better, it's gotten to a point where I order a burger with no pickles, but I still check for pickles when I get the burger and unfortunately around 70% of the time the slip wasn't followed. That being said, a lot of customers seem to complain about waiting time on public holidays, when delays should be expected at those times. Store needs more credit
W. T.
It's McDonald's. There is an indoor play area and plenty of parking.
A. G. U.
I've always had great service here. Given that it's a flagship store, that's a good thing, right?! But seriously, it's a great store to visit. It's the biggest store I've visited that I can remember. There is a lot of seating inside and out - out being under cover. There is a lot of parking. It's a quieter place than other stores over been to. I would prefer that level of noise in any store! Tables were cleaned regularly and well. The amenities were clean as well. The food was average McDonald's fare. A suggestion is an extra amount of butter with the Hot Cakes. They're more expensive now so surely they could supply enough butter. Too dry otherwise. Overall a good experience and we will be back. Again 😃.
C. M.
Very open, spacious, inviting area, and quite clean, despite my choosing a busy time of day. I received my food fairly quickly (A McRib and fries), although the box of fries was upended in the bag, and after collecting the fries from the bottom of the bag it was just slightly less than what I would think a medium fries should be. Other than that, the food was hot and fresh and the dining experience was good.
J. L.
The favorite place for driving thru!
Kids meal, soft Ice cream corns, apple pies, and extra chips are favorite snacks on the way home.
Fast, time efficient, and big smiling staffs are additional and the most recommended reason!!
S. B.
Gave our Drive Thur order to someone else. Had taken 20 minutes to get a new order made.
Maybe introducing number plate details to the orders.
Today being a 40°C, the playground was extremely hot.
Air con in the play ground would make it a better place for kids to play.
However staff were very polite and meal was as expected.
G. M.
We used the self service machine. It was very busy at the time but service to our table was efficient. The waitress smiled and hoped we would enjoy our meal. All very pleasant. Only down side - no serviettes on the tray.
M. M.
Most of the time things are great, but I really hope the team can be more mindful and check the orders before you send them off in drive-thru. I understand you're really busy Mcdonalds but it's happened a few times where I was not given my burgers or sides and I don't realize until I get home and it's too late.
S. A.
Always good as it's the head office!!
D. P.
McCafe coffee good. Busy place. Toilet not very clean. COVID tracing QR code system clumsy because it was interrupted by some survey request. Floor incredibly slippery when wet.
C. M.
Well McDonald's is a rarity for my family nowadays, but I completely appreciate the speed of service, cleanliness and professionalism. I also like the dependability of ingredients. I'd love to see more clean options included however and a super sized salad that could be tailored.
I. V. A.
They got a big order right.
U. V.
Very convenient for drive through...
K. K.
Always fresh and friendly staff
R. C.
Fine, very quiet. Clean
j. s.
Great store, nice friendly staff
G. D.
Rude staff wouldn't let us sit down once security said we can they weren't ready for freedom day
S. C.
Not very happy with the service , it was take away amd I waited and waited and then had to go inside to fetch my order or too alums 10 min
L. B.
Sam Bacon is an absolute legend behind the counter and carrying the boys with the burgers and fries. His work ethic is an inspiration for all the young people out there. My big mac for once didn't taste like cardboard good effort boys.
J. C.
Always great food from this McDonald's
D.
First time I used my app. I wanted two $1 coffees. I was charged $4. The server did not know how to use the App. A supervisor was called. It was ok in the end. We got a $2 refund. Felt sorry for the server. But they shouldn't send you a price then not provide it.
The coffee was good.
J. W.
Food was fast and warm but hot chocolawere slow in comparison. Lots of drive - through wanting coffee doing the after school run competing with counter customers. The counter staff were good just under manned.
G. B.
A good spot to stop when travelling up the coast, it right on the main road but the entrance is from the rear so you have to turn one street early, or the street after and drive around. It's a big restaurant with plenty of parking, there is plenty of seating and toilets. The drive through has two lanes to encourage drivers to use that option. Has a separate counter to order just coffee if that's what you want.
M. A.
Not the best experice I had here compared to other MacDonald's.. It is a busy place. So management should know they need more staff to take orders, prepare orders and most importantly clean the tables as soon as customers move out. Ended up cleaning the table by ourself because no vacant tables left and nobody there to do so.. Can't complain about the staff as they all working really hard to get things quicker as possible. Management should take the responsibility for not having enough resources.
A. G.
Best hot chocolate ever! Super impressed by the foam on the top and it even came with artwork on top! Totally impressed that you can get this quality from Maccas. Ray would definitely be smiling down 😁
A. L.
A very modern McDonald's. Very big and ample parking.
N. R.
Is it me? Or are the portions getting smaller? My Sausage, Bacon and Egg McMuffin is almost like a savoury oreo lol. Tasty thanks to the cheese, I wish they could toast it slightly longer and crisp the bacon...🥓😋🍳🧀🍊
M. L.
Great place however, playground should be cleaned regularly and more so for toilets given the number of customers coming through all the time. The playground equipment includes fast car, fire engine and slides.. creative and great space for climbers
T. D.
Perfect if you are a fan of ordering kiosks. 24 of them. But hardly any staff to take orders. There is no menu at the registers anymore, just a giant Billboard ad for monopoly game. Seems they are doing their very best to kill the vibe and jobs for young people.
C. A.
It's a fairly slick operation at this head office maccas and it would want to be considering. I seem to get consistent food (yep even some maccas stores can fail on consistency) and the place is kept clean. There is tonnes of parking even an overflow down the road. Drive through is surprisingly slick in busy times. I like the outdoorsy area too. The biggest let down however is the toilets. I have seen on 3 occasions a putrid backed up mess with out of order signs stuck clumsily on the door. I'd suggest being such a busy store that they invest in the restrooms. It really does make or break a visit.
K. Y.
Generally good service. Can be very busy on weekends mornings as it is the last fast food outlet on the way to the freeway. You can use the app to order online and save a bit of time.
B. E.
Staff lovely. Bought 4 cheeseburgers, presentation dreadful. Cheese only half on burger, and all look squashed. 2nd time in a row. I normally complain. 3 stars for staff, zero for quality control
A. D.
Very busy place as it is closer to the motorway entry/exit. Service is fast enough. The confirmation screens for the order is very helpful at the drive-thru checkout.
S. C.
As this is positioned next the Mcdonalds headquarters (HQ), the quality of service is reflected within this store. The multiple self-service displays for customers to order through makes this process more efficient, gives the opportunity for more customisation and easier. The service is quick, apart from one time the ice cream came slightly slow however the server apologise profously (as it was an extremely busy period). Area can be however cleaned more reguarly to improve on their standards. Convienent.
J. M.
A very, very busy McDonald's location. The service is still quite fast, considering the large numbers of customers they have to serve. The staff are all friendly, and pleasant to deal with.
The Drive Thru is super, super busy during peak holiday periods - expect a long queue just to place a Drive Thru order.
If you intend to park your vehicle here, drive all the way to the other side of the restaurant as there are usually more available parking spots closer to the exit from the McDonald's car park.
J. C.
The fries were old but the service was quite prompt. Although when returned and asked for fresh fries they forgot to send the order out to us. Service was good, food quality pretty average everything considered.
D. N.
Can get busy with long waits.
Coffee is hit and miss here. Most of the time the coffee is perfect, just like other McDonald's, but then there are the times the beans are burnt and the coffee is undrinkable. Would recommend buying coffee from the counter so when it's bad, ask for a refund otherwise go through drive thru and risk it.
P. W.
The food was okay, chips and the nuggets were nice. They lost a star because they accidentally gave me a Big Mac instead of a McChicken, which was what I ordered. Other than that, everything else was excellent.
A. P.
It's a McDonald's, so you more or less know what you are in for. Oddly given it is the head office outlet, it isn't special or even above average. They do have the normal table service, McCafe and a reasonable play area.
The problem with this one is that it isn't particularly well setup the volume of customers they get given the location (and last stop before M1). Drive-thru and store don't cope during busy times - good luck if a bus has stopped. Expect delays for drivethru, parking, food and some very busy bathrooms at these times.
T. S.
not much to say ordered pretty quick service, it's maccers 😁😉
M. C.
In terms of quality and taste it is very consistent!!! Never have been disappointed with anything I have gotten here. Although they do sometimes get orders wrong which can be annoying because it can be so busy you just don't want to line up again for it...
r. d.
Very large McDonald's with a great play area for the kids and easy drive through and the food always the same. one of the better McDonald's I've been to
B. 宝. G. A. 家. (.
I want an all you can eat feast being offered to me with 2 other free coupons allowing me to invites 2 friends over to help test write good improvement report and social review as we witness the great chances that the owner of the restaurant has taken appropriate steps to rectify some operating and management overlook.
Deadline within 1 month from today that I am to be contacted if not the STAR rating and the comments will reflect
R. L.
It's a MacDonald's , toilets were clean, that's a plus
O. A.
One of the best McDonald's I've been to. I think it is a flagship store. The McDonald's office is across the road. The burgers look like the commercials depict them.
H. A.
Coffee good ate in 1 cheese burger cold chips cool this is not as good as Thornleigh used to be. The staff seem to be run off their feet. So we will not eat there again and i live in the area for extra couple of $ i can buy a great cheese hamburger at pennant hills shop opposite the station and they put salad on it. AND A BIGGER BUN.
G. P.
Today we had a really great experience at Thornleigh McDonald's. The staff were polite, friendly and approachable. Two of them went out of their way to help us, asking more questions to get our order just right, first at front counter and then again at McCafe. Best McDonald's I've had in ages.
T. H.
This is probably one of your more busy MacDonald's being the last before the Northern freeman. Still clean and tidy. Just watch out that the local cockatoos don't scratch your car as they scavenge for food.
G. d.
Very busy store. Great fast efficient drive through. Don’t be put off by the amount of cars as it really moves fast. Never had a wrong item or missing item on my order. The food quality is also very good here.
W. T.
Generally pretty good! But the last few times waiting time has been quite bad
J. A.
There is a bunnings right next to this maccas, so its convenient location. Always a treat to stop by. Taking away 1 star because the drive-thru is always packed.
G. W.
Actually 24 hours. Some McDonalds are 24 hours for drive through only. This Thornleigh one is proper 24 hour dine in plus deive thru. The place is clean. Spacious. Easy to get to (behind Bunnings). Easy to park. Half a dozen times now in the last 20 years if I get bored late at night while cramming for exams, I'd go there to have a quick bite and coffee whatnot and just keep studying there until say 3am. The staff don't mind.
A. B.
I liked it, though they forgot a straw. We only had 3 drinks and they forgot a straw. Not happy. Other than that, great service
W. W.
Usually quite packed, and there are self-service kiosks. McDonald's is quite vile in itself (my opinion of course), but I have been known, on desperate occasions, to eat selected menu items. And as far as McDonalds go, this one is quite good. Also open 24hrs and accessible on P Hills Rd.
H. R.
Enjoyed our experience at McDonald's Thornleigh. It was organised, felt safe to see the covid rules implemented. It was clean and staff were helpful
J. K.
Quick and Covid safe. Tables are well spaced and there is enough signage to indicate where to stand and sit. A lot of ordering screens to accomodate peak hour.
S. M.
This Maccas has plenty of parking, the washrooms actually have soap and a drier which I havent seen at a lot of other Maccas. The staff is friendly and helpful. They stuffed up a order but were quick to rectify.
J. R.
Ordered a real coffee shake, bought one for a friend also. Worst I've had, it was his first and I was telling them how good they were..he now thinks I'm a liar
M. G.
This restaurant is a busy one but always efficient & clean. It has nice outdoor seating. I don't know how long it will be on the menu, but I really enjoy the lemon lime & bitters spider 😉

On days where there are going to be a lot of customers (i.e public holidays) they need to put on a lot more senior staff.
Our meal was dropped off and one of the drinks was missing. I spoke to your staff about it and was left waiting each time. The fourth staff member was like "oh, we don't have that drink. That's why you didn't get one." I just stared blankly until he was like "do you want another type of drink or something?"
After 10 minutes I got it sorted out, only to walk back to our table to realise my daughter wasn't given her drink either.
There were 15 year olds ordering around other 15 year olds who were already following orders of the flat-out in-charge.
They were getting orders mixed up with meals. There were two ladies waiting at the counter while I was trying to fix my drink up. They identified their order and told staff. The staff said that it wasn't their order, it was a table order so two staff took it to a table... Only to return to give it to the girls who orginally said it was there's. The girls saw one of the burgers dropped on the ground and had to ask for it to be remade as the staff just put it back on the tray.
Other people were also at the counter fixing their orders up. All the senior staff were dealing with drive-thru, leaving four young teenagers to try and deal with this mess. They really needed a calm senior member to come in, calm them all down and get them back on track. The mistakes they were making were causing them to be much further behind than if they carefully went through each order.
J. I.
Great staff and quick services. Facilities quite clean most of the time with a spacious play area for the kids. When the drive through is busy, they can mix or miss some of the orders.
B. G.
Busy Place. Take away not Consistent. To get Fresh Chips i order chips with no salt. Drinks standards have dropped taste more like Syrup. Friendly staff. Barista needs more training for sure.
B. T.
This Maccas is located right next to the Australian headquarters of McDonald's (I guess it's their flagship store), so it's not surprising that the food was excellent and the coffee was great. At lunchtime yesterday the queue for the drive-thru was a bit long, though.

Can never go wrong with maccas

A good place to stop between drives

I dined in at the Thornleigh store on Thursday evening, 23 August.
I ordered from the counter as i do not like using the instore touch screens, they are annoying.
I ordered 10 spicey nuggets with aoli sauce and a small cheeseburger meal.
Positives were speed and food consistency.
Store cleanliness was only average.
The sauce once again was almost impossible to open. I can't understand why in 2018 it is so difficult to design and manufacture a sauce container which is easy to open. Frustrating.
The drink had to much ice in it as usual. Particularly for winter.
The toilets were terrible, it looked like a tap was leaking.
C. W.
Adverage service, McDonald's severly lacks the customer service and politeness it once had years ago. From head office McDonald's location one would think the standard would be above the rest. Certainly not the case here.
M. -. M. -. T.
Well Thank you McDonald's. I have noticed that in all your stores the amenities/bathrooms have been getting smaller and smaller....to the point of being ridiculously small. What a pleasant change when I visited your Thornleigh store (been some months since I was there last).... I was confronted by a spacious, sparkling clean Bathroom... Congrats McDonalds...finally a bathroom that your loyal customers can appreciate.
S. L.
Rated as a Macca's ! Possibly the biggest you've been to. Gets very busy but copes well with it thanks to largely automated ordering.
Carpark is huge and a bit of a madhouse, but never been stuck for a spot.
C. V.
The chicken nuggets were very nice & freshly cooked. Although the french fries DID NOT taste freshly cooked. But other than that everything were nice &quickly served.
J. P.
The premises is starting to show its age. Repairs done, but old work still showing. It would have been quicker for me to order at the counter, rather than using the non user-friendly machine.
R. T.
A casual visit with family when too bored to cook food at home. Disappointed as vego option is off the chart!!!

A friend of mine (age over 70 and with considerable ill health) was caught up in the storm the other day. He was running low on fuel but couldn’t find a service station with power. The traffic was horrendous, and he was very low on fuel and he had no option but to wait it out. By this stage it was 10pm and his phone was out of power. He found Thornleigh McDonald’s parking lot and decided to ride out the night there.
The next morning he was about to head off to find fuel when a McDonald’s employee came out and asked if he was okay. She noticed he did not look well and asked if he would like a drink of water. To him, at that point, a drink of water was worth a million dollars. Unfortunately they did not have any cold water, so she brought him a mineral water and ice, and to top it off, she brought him a muffin. He had not had anything to eat or drink since 3pm the previous day.
This McDonald’s employee was an angel in disguise.
Thank you for watching out for my friend.
A. K.
This is Maccas head office and training centre. So if you have to have Maccas, Thornliegh is as good as it gets. Your meal is prepared by freshly trained staff and it is always fresh as a consequence of the high turnover of customers coming through Pennant Hills Rd.
c. z.
Open for drive through. Dining area and playground closed due to Covid.
C. Z.
Ideal place to stop at with kids as we drove up to the central coast from the southern highlands. They can run around and burn off some every before continuing with travel.
Tends to be fairly busy though.
D. L.
Friendly peppy service, clean new dining area. Free Helium balloons on the Saturday that we were there, continuously replenished. Kids playground with new equipment, featuring a car, fire engine and colouring-in wall. It was busy with families, young people getting meals before a night out, and elderly couples, all side by side.
P. C.
Good place with ample parking
S. N.
A very clean and nice McDonald's. It's pretty big compared to other McDonald's that I have been to. The only issue I had was that the bathroom smelt a little off and weird. Otherwise, this place is okay.
K. S.
Sigh. Ordered a 10pack of bites for my toddler through the drive through with a few things for us. Drove off to find they gave us a 3pk of pieces. Someone cannot count.
D. L.
Ordered table service and the first part of the order cane out, then 5min later the second part and after waiting 10mins I went to ask where the happy meal was and it had been missed. Waited another few minutes for it to be made. Very disappointing
R. F.
Ok place but very busy. Really hard to use with trailers or campers and their overflow car park is a long way off with a 2.3m height restriction. Service is reasonably quick though.
Usual maccas menu and prices
P. M.
During a huge blackout a few weeks ago, the whole area was without power but Maccas came in clutch and served over a hundred people that night. even with this rush of service maccas stilll did a good job and managed to serve everyone correctly not many other establishments can do that.
B. C.
Clean and modern but went at lunch time on a Friday, one person checking orders, many were wrong and there was no salt on chips. They have a lovely salad bar but only realised it was there after I sat down to eat, it was tucked away round a corner. For a training Maccas there needs to be more thought going into process and design.
d. r.
Very busy place means long wait on food & coffee. Staff try really hard to keep up. Coffee always nice & hot & they stir the sugar and not just let it sit at the bottom like some other places
J. D.
Quarter pounder cold and dry, worst I've had. Nugget and fries good. Customer service great
D. S.
Macca's head office test site?
This is nearly always very busy. The drive thru is great but in store is slow.
The self serve system sucks. The huge screens and poor logic in the steps to build your meal are slow and cumbersome.
A. F.
Usual McDonalds ambiance...it is their head office store but the self service kiosks are problematic.
K. C.
It's a maccas. What is there to say? Enter from the side street and there's a reasonable amount of parking and couple of drive through lanes - even has the bins as you exit the car park if you want to eat in the car park. Usually quite clean and decent service as it's opposite the head office.
M. N.
The stable head office across the rd
V. P.
One of the best Maccas I've been to. Fast and accurate service, even though the restaurant was packed to bursting. Toilets were looking a bit due for a clean (probs due to unusually high customer volume) but otherwise excellent maccas experience.
L. R.
This place is always extremely busy. But having said that a lot of the time you do not have to wait too long for your order. Always stop on the way back home for a coffee and a snack.
J. L.
Standard Maccas.
As usual, not enough staff at the order counter, showing the push towards making us do our own ordering via the terminals. I'd be interested to see how many staff are reduced with this new system.
S. R.
This McDonalds is right opposite the Australian McDonald's head office. They all seem to go there for lunch. So expect no seating and long delays for lunch. The staff also cause long traffic queues leaving the carpark. They use a traffic crossing specially designed for staff to cross the road to get to McDonalds. This blocks any cars from turning out to leave the car park. Had to wait over 5 minutes to just leave the car park as the head office staff were crossing the road in a long stream. More consideration from McDonald's head office staff for customers would be nice
N. F. (.
Hygiene practices in mc'cafe leave a lot to be desired, ie three bottles of open milk left on counter, swamed by flies.
A. O.
Busy busy busy place always, but especially on polling day! Very efficient though, not too long a wait considering the amount of people. Macca's are useless for coeliacs though
M.
Big push for screen ordering here, so many screens. However Husband & I putorder thru & screen errors, logs off & has to reboot. Uggghhh. I go to a diff screen & Husband goes to counter. My order comes quite quickly however for some reason other order is being walked around & around...
P. B.
Very clean and plenty of seating for this popular Macca’s restaurant. Parking is large however if it gets full there’s another parking lot further up the road, about 3 minute walk.
J. T.
We had a most enjoyable lunch here; very busy however we received fast and efficient service from a happy team. Many thanks to each of you. Xoxo
a. r.
Hello, excellent staff, the staff make you a great breakfast, great start for your journey traveling up the north coast or central coast. Make you feel very comfortable, very friendly people. Lovely experience. Kind regards Anthony.
D. A.
Fast service, the food is always as you expect good job McDonalds Team
D. r.
the staff at McDonald's was really nice
K. M.
It's a Macca's with a drive thru.
M. L.
Service was not bad only because there was quite a line up for coffee and meals, handy location especially when travelling home to Newcastle.
B. M.
Had a great experience with a drive through person that doesn't normally happen, and they got my order right! While this should be a normal experience at any business , it's not and I appreciate it.
M. N.
I got a Mocha because I was hoping the burnt coffee would be masked by the chocolate but it was that burnt that nothing could mask it. McDonalds coffee are getting worse and worse.
The food was good and fresh.
P. T.
Thornleigh Maccas is the set-off point for many road trippers heading North on holiday. There's nothing unusual about the food. It just happens to be in the right spot when you've taken off early and need to have brekky before hitting the motorway
S. -.
I know - it's a McDonald's. But this isn't any McDonald's. This is the McDonald's across the road from head office. Next to the training centre. Where the staff are attentive, and the food is unlike any other McDonald's I've ever been to.
Here the little things have been attended to with such attention to detail, that it become a venue worth reviewing. For example, the chips are exactly as they should be. They are fresh, hot, crispy. Not over cooked. Just simple things, but things which require attention to detail.
Here there is a salad bar - have a custom salad made-to-order. It'll come out perfect. Cold ingredients are cold (like leaves, guacamole, etc) , hot ingredients are freshly cooked (like grilled herb chicken). It'll come out to you on a porcelain plate, delivered to you on (a real looking-but not really) white marble counter top.
Y'know, it's nice. It's different. It's where McDonald's tries things out. Worth a visit if you're around or passing by.
N. H.
This is head office's store, and they never ever disappoint. super clean and fast service, even in drive through. they always keep the store looking fresh amd new, seems like it changes every time I go there
S. P.
Perhaps it was a fluke, or I was really tired, but that was possibly the best coffee I have ever had! Burgers were a bit sideways which is standard.
N. A.
I do not like being forced to use a touch screen to place my order. How often are these screens cleaned? A broken lock on the toilet door unacceptable.
J. C.
A really busy McDonalds with HQ right behind it too, my order was accurate but not as fast as I'd like as it was during the lunch time and the place was packed. Food was great though.
D. N.
McDonald's Thornleigh's drive thru constantly get the order wrong, coffee is often terrible. However, today was the first time I've ever had a positive experience
D. C.
We ordered two Angus burgers one of which bore no resemblance to the photo and was very ordinary. We were muttering about it when Francis one of the employees who was cleaning nearby overheard us, took up our case and had the offending burger remade. First class customer service that altered a poor Macca experience to a good one.
L. I.
Well meaning staff and service. Coffee was just warm and the tea took forever to get to the table. My breakfast included a just warm potato but burger was good.
P. S.
Always grab a coffee here before hitting the freeway to go north. Being across the road from head office, you'd expect this store to be perfect in every way, but unfortunately it's not. It can be very slow at times to get your order.
K. V.
fast, clean, consistent. It's Macca's, what else do you need to know?
T. G.
Even at peak times this McDonald's is fast and efficient and staff are excellently trained. Can I please suggest that the longer parking spots which are perfect for vehicles towing boats or camper trailers are marked as trailer parking? We pulled in in a group with boats on the other day and a prius had parked in the middle of the long spots in spite of plenty of normal parking available. We ended up having to park the boats on the road until the prius left.
e. h.
Just had a cheeseburger happy meal from the drive thru, and it was BRILLIANT. The chips were salted beautifully and the cheeseburger was that kind of good late night dirty cheeseburger
M. H.
Best one maybe because I believe it is near the training centre for Maccas
A. P.
Hands down the best burgers and service. Now please send your staff from here to other locations and spread the gospel..
V. W.
Bought Big Mac. Also donated for the cause.
A. D.
I was standing behind a chinese man waiting to order and it took a while. I only have one request, that you should consider putting a language setting on your electronic menu to help the poor staff standing at the counter trying to understand what these people are saying, it could also speed up things for the people standing in the queue.
M.
Convenient location for a pit stop on the way home, service was fast, food was standard Maccas quality so pretty good.
t. e.
Clean and friendly. A bit slow at the counter today where they took ages with just one customer. Visible notices about covid and they checked my book in on app.
P. R.
Not bad as far as Maccas goes. I believe this is a training establishment for employees, so I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a high standard of service and food from here. I don't walk away thinking "that's the best Maccas ever", but it's alright.
O. D.
I love the food it is great
M. W.
The last Maccas before the Pacific Highway! Drive-through service is quick, especially considering the amount of traffic they get. They've never stuffed up my order either.
