When a cafe uses Happy Happy Soy Boy (soy milk) you're off to a good start. The mushroom medley and corn fritters for breakfast were a flavour bomb and all elements complimented each other well. What a great way to start the day with what I would easily consider the best breakfast in the Hunter Valley.

A party of nine had a full menu order, 6-7 starters, 5 mains and everything from the wine (Tatlers' own) to the Wagu Beef and the Lamb were divine, the Whole Flounder in palm sugar, and the vegetarian dishes, eggplant and lentils, zucchini and labna... it was an amazing experience. The service is friendly but attentive and they are so adaptable to the needs of the group. The desserts were divine. Trust the chef! They absolutely know what they're doing! Great place to feast.

I work in the Hunter Valley at a cellar door and have had so many customers raving about the food and service, so decided I needed to try it with my 12 yo daughter. Daughter ordered the velvet pancakes and LOVED THEM!! I had the pork Benedict and was great! Service, price and timing was great. Considering how busy they were the timing was amazing. Well done Mocking bird Cafe!!! We will be back!

Stunning setting, delicious coffee and a menu to die for. We came for a post-wedding recovery brunch and could have stayed all day! Satay French toast was a taste explosion and chorizo croquettes were creamy and flavoursome. Exceptional service from the entire team and Maddi in particular. Cannot recommend highly enough and would rate it as one of our best ever food experiences in The Hunter. We will be back.

Great food, a great start to our Hunter Valley trip. Weather was amazing (although that’s not really these guys’ issue haha) but the great weather meant it was quite busy. We still got our food served pretty quickly and it was delicious. Serving sizes were pretty big too!

Amazingly creative menu with delicious brunch offerings and a lovely team. Have removed a star due to the extortionate coffee prices. We paid $17.50 for 3 small coffees (only one with a special request- soy plus decaf). These guys have only been open 3 weeks though, so hopefully they’ll realise that’s not viable. Fabulous tasting in the cellar door next door afterwards- thank you Tom for looking after us so well.

Nice little setting and the outdoor/alfresco space was particularly good. The chorizo croquettes were delicious (probably could have done with one more or some toast to accompany) and my daughter loved the red velvet pancakes.

The Staff are friendly, genuine and all went above and beyond to answer any questions and accommodate any requests. We had a large group and they handled the variety of dietary requirements professionally and seamlessly. They ensured everyone was able to enjoy a full satisfying meal served as a banquet style. Unfortunately I could not get in as completely booked out 🥺 was recommended to try this place. Take away coffee and muffin yummie. Definitely looked like a place to have a meal though recommend booking so you don't miss out.

Shared 3 small plates, 2 large plates and 3 sides between 3 of us - was absolutely delicious and we had room to squeeze in dessert. Staff are efficient, attentive and friendly. Absolutely recommend.

I visited mockingbird hunter valley for lunch on Sunday for lunch and although it was busy everything was amazing! Staff were tentative and lovely and the menu was delicious! The tandoori chicken I could eat all day! Definitely recommending to people headed to the Hunter Valley!!

I have had the most amazing lunches at Mockingbird Hunter Valley in just their first few weeks. The menu has options that would appeal to everyone. The brandade, octopus and flounder are absolute stand outs. If you're in the Hunter Valley, go to Mockingbird for lunch.
