The self serve kiosk is very convenient and easy to use. Food came out quickly and my favourite was the shrimp and egg. We also ordered the original wagyu and rice. I would love to come back again and would recommend this to people who like meat 🥰

I have been here twice and the food is great but the staff aren’t really friendly. During my last visit I was asked to sit on the table that had sun directly above my head through the sunroof. I requested to change my table and even though most of the tables were empty the staff were not really happy about it so even though their food is great but I wouldn’t be going back.

Nothing beats their classic beef pepper rice plate, but recently we’ve been enjoying their curry beff/hamburger option as well. Make sure to add the sweet and garlic sauces to your rice while it’s still sizzling for an extra flavour boost.

My first pepper lunch experience was amazing! Tried the Prawn Pepper Rice and the Jumbo Classic Beef Pepper Rice at George Street, Sydney. Fresh, sizzling hot rice with meat and prawn-perfect combination. Great location and fun place for lunch with friends. Definitely going back there on my next visit.

This Japanese franchise is based around its signature dish of sliced beef with rice served on a cast iron hot plate. As you continue cooking your beef (to perfection) on the hot plate, you will find two bottles of sauce on your table. Add a generous amount of both and give everything a good mix. The end product is a flavour combination made in heaven and the dish remains hot until the very last mouthful. Other dishes are equally tasty, like marbled steaks, chicken fillets and so on. And recently they introduced a range of premium ice cream that I really recommend. One thing that did not work for me was the pasta on the hot plate. It just continued cooking to the point where the pasta became a hard string.

Used to love this place few years ago when it first opened. I remembered they did have a half price discount when paying with PayPal and my goodness I ate like hell back that. The last time I dined it was about half a year ago. Drop by for dinner and it is still busy like ever. Noticed the portion like getting smaller and even the rice is lesser compare to last time. Moreover, the dining area was so dirty and slippery from the wet kitchen, but no one bother to take the initiative as to mop it but lazily just put a signage of wet floor in front only. Hence, the staff were walking ups and downs on the water stains creating a dirty shoes stain everywhere. Not really a good sight and cleanliness this time was a big minus Zero ! Really hope the management do look into the safety and hygiene matter.

Ordered Teriyaki chicken, onion rings and an ice cream. The meal was delicious and it also comes served with vegies & rice. There is moderate seating and overall it was a tidy place. There was a slight wait when we went in as they use the ordering touch screens but overall was nice and a good experience.

Really great food and very nice how you can cook it to your own liking and put sauce however much you want and the best part is it sizzles. We recommend the steak meal or was just delish. Pity there are only two of them in Sydney one in Chatswood express and one in George Street. A bit pricey but it's all worth it. Their waffles are nice too and serving them on the hot plate keeps them nice and hot.

Pepper Lunch at Sydney city is decently price with delicious food. The food choices in this restaurant is quite reasonable. Most of the dishes comes with either beef or chicken or mix. All the dishes comes on a hot plate and you cook the food to your liking. I got the curry flavor, you have the choice how spicy you would want it. The food service is quite fast. I think I got my food in 5 minutes. The prices are between 12-20+ AUD per person. It is best to order the meal with sides. The restaurant size is quite small, so moving around is quite tough. There is free flow of filtered water, but is self-service. Overall, the food is good, the price is decent, and the place is tight.

A very cafe style restaurant but the food sizzling away at each table really made it smell inviting, hence I tried here as a walk past drop in. I ordered the beef terriaki sizzle plate and added mushrooms and cheese. The cheese gave the dish a risotto feel. Next time I would skip the cheese and add more pepper during cooking. This place is not licensed despite beer appearing on the menu. I also tried the black sesame ice cream which was ok but not how normally prefer it. Fun place to eat with great fresh food served promptly.

Clean, automated ordering service , don't bother paying $4 for miso soup it's packet made and very watery. Stick to the mains which is what they are famous for.

The Trio Steak was incredibly filling, with some amazing tasting corn and carrots. The sweet sauce on the table made the whole meal three times as good. Beef classic is the best value and the best flavour. Recently tried the prawn version which comes with egg, around $15, which was pretty tasty. Self order at machine, hard to use and frustrating at times. Food comes out relatively quickly. Sweet potato wedges are good, but expensive for portion size. Would not recommend the ice cream desserts, it's not good. Curry is ok. Overall, I like coming here for the reliable dishes.

Pepper Lunch offers a good range of sizzling plates, usually including rice and a variety of meat or vegetables. The price is quite economical and food is high quality and delicious. They have recently renovated the interior so it looks more modern. Although one thing to watch out for is that, when the food is served, it is sizzling hot, so care needs to be taken when getting a feed.

Be sure to cook your food thoroughly, making sure to mix the butters and flavouring they put on the plate and beware not to burn yourself on the hot plate. They need more seating as this place gets busy but worth the wait. You line up and order before you sit down.

Pepper Lunch is located close to Town Hall station and is roughly a 5 minute walk away. The selection of items are quite extensive and most of them are quite delicious. Your dish comes out on a massive hotplate and the concept is that you cook your own food on that hot plate, so make sure you give your dish a good mix to make sure everything is cooked before digging in. The restaurant overall is quite crammed and squishy so you are quite close to other people especially during the lunch time and dinner time rush. It's not a place I'd recommend for large groups of 4 or more people during their busy periods. I also highly advice against bringing a pram or wheelchair here too. While the food is generally very nice and tasty, it is relatively expensive for what you are paying for. The portion sizes are not that big and the service is fairly average. There is also a surcharge for card payment so it is advised to bring cash with you. This is something important to note, they also have a ridiculous policy where they collect your phone for you to take the toilet keys to use the bathroom. This is due to people previously taking the toilet keys and not returning them. In my opinion, they should change this as phones are quite a personal and valuable belonging and there is no waiver or anything for you to sign in the rare case they damage or lose your phone. Overall, if you would like to try something a bit more special and exotic than your average lunch or dinner and have a bit of fun as well, I would definitely recommend going here for the experience of 'cooking' your own meal! However, as a local it is not somewhere I would go back to if given other options.

I was invited to join friends at this establishment - the first time for me for this concept - where the food comes uncooked on a very hot plate and you cook it yourself and then eat - and quite a pleasant surprise. It just sizzled away in front of us as we stirred - and then when it seemed ready, we started eating! There is an extensive menu - we had beef with rice. It was quite crowded early on a Saturday evening and the tables are close together but we did not need anything more than that for our outing.

The issue I find myself in however is the restrictiveness in their menus. Because the choices are difficult to make, I end up just choosing the chicken or Beef. A bit on the pricey range, but there are loyalty programs to fill you up on future occasions, if that's your thing.

Customer service is good, very nice place. The waitresses are friendly, if they get the order wrong they get very apologetic. It's ok! Everyone makes mistakes! Price is good as well for what you get. Only problem with the joint is that sometimes it's a little dirty, and some of the seats and tables are cheap, foldable ones, which makes me uncomfortable. If you don't understand how the joint works, (you have to cook your food and the plate is super hot) you might not like it.

This Japanese restaurant is a classic and all there meals come served on a sizzling hot rock which you cook you meat and vegetables on. There is plenty of choices from beef chicken or seafood and the servings are of a decent size. The price is what can be expected for the area. Toilets are shared with all restaurants in the building and it can be annoying especially during the busier times.

Good place to go for a quick and cheap eat out. The novelty of cooking your own food hasn't worn off on me yet and it also helps serving time as they don't do any cooking, they have a wide enough variety for me to keep coming back to try something new. It also helps that they have a student discount so expect a crowd of students during lunch time. My personal favourite is the Curry Pepper Rice to add a bit of spiciness to the dish or the Salmon Pepper Rice.

(though just down the road in WorldSquare there is the yellow sign Mexican place that takes PayPal - if you forget your wallet~)
