This is the best pizza I’ve had in Sydney. Seriously. The crust is absolute perfection and the sauce is so rich. They’ve got lots of seating but it does get busy even on a weeknight. It’s that good. I can’t wait to return!

Had dinner here and the whole aesthetic is amazing! The staff are super friendly. The 1 meter long pizza was very impressive. We loved the Salami and truffle pizza. However the Sofia Loren pizza was a bit of a miss. The desert is definitely not their forte and we weren't very happy with it and it tastes quite mediocre.

pizza quality is good but not hot enough. Not sure this is because we arrived early (6pm). The three pizzas were delivered to our table within 5 minutes from ordering. The arancini won the race and reached us in around 100 seconds. To be fair, the pizzas taste good, the texture is just right. It is a pity that the pizzas were at lukewarm temperature and came all at once. The three of us were racing to eat them before they become stone cold.

This became my partner’s favourite pizza place! We ordered through DoorDash the Calzone Al Forno, Capricciosa and Calamari. I’m not usually a big fan of Calzone but this one was delicious! The dough was tasty and had a good texture and the filling was so juicy! The calamaris were tender and the Capricciosa was tasty as well (we really liked the dough!)

Loved this authentic Italian joint. Lots of fresh ingredients and the pasta was cooked perfectly. Would definitely come back - especially for their truffle pizzas! I would recommend people book in advance esp on Fri/sat/sun because it gets very very packed. Because of this, there was a bit of a wait time (even though we booked) and the staff seemed a little flustered. Other than that a pretty pleasant experience :)

Tomatoes in Caprese salad pretty bland and powdery. Lovely waitresses, just wish they paid a bit more attention to tables right near those they're serving instead of walking away. Fantastic pizza. Nice vibe. Highly recommend

The pizza here is phenomenal. Definitely up there with the best pizza in Sydney like Via Napoli. They have huge meter long pizzas as well as personal 13in ones. The margherita pizza is stellar and as is the pizza montanara. We also tried the quatro formaggi, and Regina margherita. They were all delicious. The sauce was stellar and all the basil was so fresh. The dough was phenomenal as well.

Easily the best wood fired pizzas in Glebe. Tasty, fresh and authentic Italian restaurant. Please cut the pizzas in smaller portions, instead of 4 slices. Difficult to navigate around sharing on the plate and yummy toppings usually fall off. Lovely fit out, with ground floor and first floor dining options. Warm and cosy inside. Homely decorations and Italian feeling. Wait time can be up to 20 mins for walk ins. This venue is always busy. Hospitality of staff is nurturing and warm.

A completely reasonable offering, it is probably the best pizza in the immediate Glebe area, but unfortunately doesn't compare with its competitors in Newtown or Leichhardt. The tartufo pizza has good flavour, but I find the use of the truffle oil makes the whole experience very greasy, where others focus more on truffle paste. The base of mine was quite charred, and while this can add a lot of character to a richer, tomato-based pizza, I found it really overwhelmed the subtle flavours of the tartufo. Like others have commented, they did an atrocious job of cutting the pizza, which sounds silly but really makes it hard to eat. I went in person and ordered takeaway, and they told me 15 minutes then somehow forgot about me though I was just sitting on the bench out the front. Nearly 30 minutes later I happened to catch the waiter coming out for his break, and they sorted it out but I think I got lucky, and someone else must have also ordered the same pizza which they gave to me instead.

I can’t believe it took me 1 year to go there. A friend of mine advised this place to me when I told him that I’m a huge pizza fan. The staff is so so friendly. The restaurant is cute and cosy, I really like the atmosphere. And most important the pizza are simply AMAZING. Definitely the best pizza I had in Sydney or in my top 2. The crust is EXACTLY AS I LOVE IT. Thin in the middle, thick and extra soft on the side 😍👌 I love that they are generous with the basil on the classic margherita as it’s often something I’m complaining about in other restaurants. They also use fresh ricotta for the Quattro Formaggi which makes a lot of difference for this pizza! I might move to Glebe just for this pizza place haha I cannot wait to go back. This is what I call making people happy.

WOW, had such a great experience at Pizzeria Da Alfredo! Go for the $45 banquet, we had the entree platter, 1 metre long pizza and doughnuts for four people and it was absolutely amazing value and the food was so good. Would be enough food for even 5+ people and a great taste of lots of fantastic Italian dishes. Would definitely come again.

The Limoncello Spritz ($14) should be the palate cleanser of your Sydney summer. Made with limoncello, Prosecco and soda, then garnished with mint, it’s light, bright and refreshing, and – just like Solo – you can slam it down fast. It’s even better when consumed in the transportive surrounds of Pizzeria da Alfredo’s upper dining room. With windows onto a plant-lined terrace and a fresco scene enhanced with a mock balcony along one wall, the room feels like dining in the piazza of a small Italian town. Hanging copper pots, loaded grapevines and bunches of mock chillies hung as if to dry from exposed dark timber rafters, all add to the effect. Restaurant Manager Nino Di Donato is a big, welcoming presence. He greets everyone with bella (beautiful) or bello (handsome), and his enthusiasm is contagious. Right from the outset, I want to like this restaurant. And I do like it, starting with Truffle Polenta Chips ($17), stacked like the beginnings of Jenga over a luxurious puddle of four-cheese sauce. They’re better than Bloodwood – and the memory of their polenta chips with gorgonzola sauce has been my benchmark for the last eight years. Di Donato’s dexterous wine and food service steering us away from ordering double dough - as enticing as those dough pockets sounded - and towards a more sensible Swordfish Carpaccio ($23). Topped with lemon, capers, olive oil and boiled potato, this clever plate of thinly sliced game fish shows you just why salad Niçoise is such a thing. It’s great with Prosecco ‘Millesimato’ Val d’Oca DOC ($12/glass) from Veneto (the geographic region governed by Venice), which coats your mouth with fruit sugar then dries up nicely without being either too sweet, too dry, or too frothy. Paccheri Genovese ($28) is pretty much a perfect pasta dish. Chewy fat tubes of pasta (paccheri) are served with a meaty white ragu. The textural beef has been slow-cooked for hours with carrots and onions, and has bags of flavour, without needing to be drowned in too much cheese. It's the kind of dish that wants to cuddle up with a nice glass of red; and Di Donato will help you find your perfect match from the succinct Italian list. He'll also let you bring your own wine selection. Despite the obvious lure of the domed wood fire oven that dominates the lower dining space, manned by chef and owner, Alfredo Repole, himself, I find myself ordering the Calzone Fritto ($22). This classic Neapolitan street food, is made from folded, deep fried pizza dough stuffed with ricotta, Fior di Latte mozzarella, thin strips of mild salami, basil, black pepper and enough tomato to turn it the interior pink. It arrives looking rather majestic on a brown paper-covered wooden board. It's a visceral pleasure to puncture it with a knife and watch it deflate into what proves to be a surprisingly supple and fluffy calzone that is tasty and oil-free against the wet and simple stuffing. Sated and smiling, on the way out, I pause to watch Repole expertly wrangle classic Neapolitan pizzas in his oak-fueled, 500-degree Celsius oven. With thin, elastic bases and puffy blistered crusts, I get the distinct feeling I might have saved the best bit of Pizzeria da Alfredo for my return visit, forthwith.

The food was great. Staff had a very good vibe, welcoming! They allow BYO for wine which is great. However, the options of food we asked weren't received as we asked. Not a big problem I think they misunderstood us between vegetarian and meat options.

Awesome find on a Tuesday evening. We went for a snack, which ended up as dinner. The service was excellent, thanks to the very friendly and accommodating staff. The space was clean (including the bathroom) and the whole experience was a joy. Would definitely go back. Our (panoplea) pizza was almost excellent - there was a little bit of half baked dough throughout the crust, but that didn't spoil the experience. Would definitely go back! Ordered a lasanage and pizza. Lasanage was very delicious. The pizza was a little bit too spicy. It seems like all there tomato based pizzas with meat are spicy. Service was good, food was delivered very quickly. Seating arrangement was a little awkward being near the way of where people were walking.

Ever since ogling it on the Really Dough web series, I'd wanted to try a 𝑴𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒓𝒂 𝑷𝒊𝒛𝒛𝒂 that lived up to it's hype, but more importantly, its history. This version of a traditional Margherita pie involves dropping a disc of uncooked pizza dough in hot oil for about a minute, then top the puffy fried dough with marinara sauce and cheese. To slightly melt the cheese and give the crust an extra crisp, chef's usually bake it in the woodfire oven for another minute. The result is a dough with a fluffy, airy texture and a smoky, toasted flavor—the perfect vehicle for a rich, hearty marinara sauce and creamy slices of fior di latte AKA Italian buffalo mozzarella. The gluten is surprisingly more relaxed as the dough is less proteinous and dense. The crispy outer skin of the dough all over gives a nice textural variance to the whole pie. A completely unique pizza eating experience, not to be confused with any fads or farces turning out deep fried dough. Go try it, best served here!

Fantastic food. We ordered pizza (cuz that's what you do at a pizzeria lol) and we ordered a 1/2 meter not thinking. Now when I say we, that is just myself and my husband and oh my we didn't realise how big it was hahaha But delicious it was for sure. It was very busy so the only thing I would suggest if you want to eat in (they do take away) is book a table. We were lucky and they fit us in, amazingly! Staff absolutely friendly, professional and attentive. If you're in the area and fancy a dinner out give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

The smell of this place is amazing. Pretty busy but the service goes quite fast. The pizza were HUGE We were a group of 3, one ordered the 4 salumi pizza and was delighted, the other the calzone al forno and was disappointed as not fluffy at all and filled with another meat than ham, that she didn't like. I took the mama Mia one, it was very good but I couldn't fast the bresaola, I really think it would have been the same flavour without it. Overall not that much if a flavour, I would have trusted you if you said that was a - good - margarita. Salad on the side was extremely expensive, we regretted ordering it when we saw the price on the bill. So overall I think it's a good pizza place but not worth the price

Authentic Italian food in a cosy, fun, unpretentious restaurant with excellent wait staff and and a friendly manager. We were so beautifully looked after and the food was great. I recommend getting the mixed entree, which included the best eggplant parmigiana I've had, followed by a couple of pizzas off of their epic pizza menu. Can't recommend enough.

Staff here are genuine, greet you at the door as you pass the beautiful Woodford pizza ovens. The food will not disappoint. I recommend the prosciutto with buffalo cheese and the margarita pizza. A definite gem in Glebe! We were in search for an authentic Italian place where we were hoping to find some real pizza. Walking through glebe we came across Pizzeria da Alfredo. From the front it seemed like a take away, not many tables to sit, but once we went to the back, we were in love with the place! Honestly one of the best Italian I have eaten in around Sydney... We have been getting take away here for a few years now, Pizza is DELICIOUS. It's the tiniest bit softer in the middle, as some have mentioned, but I like this, it's from yummy toppings and doesn't affect flavour....the most important thing. Up until recently I'd never eaten in. I've recently dined in a few times. The services is fantastic, friendly and what you'd expect from a little town in Italy somewhere, not Sydney. Sure, sometimes they're busy and you have to wait a little while for something or ask twice, but that's what you're paying for, it's not a 5 star hatted restaurant, it's a pizzeria! My first dining experience we called, it was close to their close time, they were so inviting and said come on in. By the time we made it, it was after close, they stayed open, just for us (4 people), with a huge smile on their face, cleaning up as we ate, it was so nice. The wine is affordable and quite nice. Most recently I dined in with a few friends, we had the set menu. My god, I've never seen a bigger antipasto platter, it was at least 2m long and packed with food. Nothing is too much trouble, they're very accommodating. Do yourself a favour, grab 10 of your best friends, take some wine and have a cracker of a night!

Honestly what can I say?! Where can I start?!? Best pizza I have ever had! The service was spectacular! Doors were opened for us, we were asked to come in out of the cold, I have honestly never had such amazing service before. They should be so proud of their restaurant, its a shame we dont live nearby but it was the best food my partner and I had in a long time, amazing experience we will never forget. I would not listen to any 1 star reviews as they pick apart the soul heritage of what this food means and is. True pizza tastes like this. The price is undoubtably worth it, would you rather fly to Italy and pay for pizza there? This is the closest you will ever get, its spectacular and amazing!

It was the second time I have been here. The first time was with a group of people; it was rather difficult focusing on the dishes due to group of friends. But last night I ordered a special seafood spaghetti, and it was so good. My friend ordered a baseless pizza (cheese and herbs) but was so damn tasty. Service is friendly and attentive. Great pizza joint with a buzzing vibe and friendly staff. The whole place is well run and the menu is extensive. The pizza is good - not the best in Sydney, but certainly in the top few. The crusts on most of our pizzas was quite burnt which is usually fine but these were so burnt to be inedible. Otherwise they were solid.

Can't really say much about other dishes, this review is only about pizza and service.

Go there for the food not the service. The food is packed with flavour. Pizza might be a touch inconsistent with topping covers, yet hand made and delioush. Lasagna and gnocchi are scrumptious. It's just such a shame the service was rude and stressed. As a result errors occur and spills and breakage happen which they did. Be great if they put a smile on their face and accepted they are a busy local restaurant would make the entire night far more enjoyable.

Forgot the calamari, and ordered over the phone at closing time 10pm and they were happy to cook it up (sorry about that!). We have been going regularly since they opened but ducked in last Tuesday for a quick pizza with some friends. We were offered water and overpriced Italian bottled water came and was poured before we realised. Entrees were not explained properly and we ended up ordering way too much. Corkage for our tuesday night BYO was $10 per bottle too. So a note to the owners; if you want to keep the locals on side on a quiet week night, don't rip them off or they won't come back!

If the owner (I'm guessing Alfredo) died I would mourn him like a relative. As an atheist I whole heartedly utter 'god save Alfredo and his pizza hands'!
