First time here and loved it! The staff were friendly, menu was explained in detail, food came out quite quickly and in the order we wanted thank you! The entree and mains were delicious (esp. loved the chorizo entree) but we were rushing at the end to make it to the theatre on time so couldn't stay to try the dessert. On our next visit to the city, we will definitely be back to try them out!! The staff didn't lose their friendly smile from the start to the end, thank you for the pleasant dining experience

So funny story with this restaurant, we were looking for a restaurant for dinner because our ideal restaurant was closed so my friend ACCIDENTALLY booked this restaurant for 6.30pm when it was 6.20pm. LUCKILY, the restaurant was 4 mins away and oh boy, if I were to give Primi Italian 6 stars; I would. Let's start off with the incredible service, every needs was met and we didn't have to compromise anything like a jug of coke instead of individual cokes. They allowed split bills which is the biggest relief ever! And the recommendations of the menu was explained clearly. Thank you for making me believe that fantastic service still exists! Our entree was Garlic Bread and Calamari and let me tell you, the Calamari was THE BEST CALAMARI WE'VE EVER HAD. Then we had three pizzas, the Sicialian Meat Lovers, the Prosciutto San Daniele and the Quattro (Chef's Special) Pizza which were honestly so good and one of the best pizzas we've ever had, if not the best. The vibe of the restaurant was really spacious and the showcase of wines were a neat touch. The care and attention to the reviews as well is always so heartwarming to see. We will come back next time for sure and this time more prepared. PS: sorry for being underdressed for the ocasion since we accidentally got booked in but you guys still embraced us like family. Thank you very much. I would consider it fate and destiny that we were brought here hahaha.

Really nice authentic Italian restaurant inside the club York. I love the decor, however some tables seemed a little dark. I like how their wines are proudly displayed on the wall and have tasting notes next to them. Entrees of calamari (highly recommend this) and zucchini flowers were very tasty but quite small For Mains, the steak with king prawn was a generous portion and had great flavour, however parts of the steak were more cooked than others. The real star of the show was the spaghetti marinara - the prawns are fresh, the seared scallop in a half shell was perfectly cooked and the sauce was stunning. Wines are well priced too. I highly recommend this place.

What an amazing place. Both the food and service were absolutely amazing. The blue swimmer crab ravioli was one of the best dishes I've had in quite a while. The only little disappointment was the tiramisu, and the staff got our wine order wrong at one point (but that's quickly rectified). Otherwise definitely a 5 star.

I would like to share my experience about this restaurant. From the whole world I have been traveling this one is most exceptional experience of my life and the best Italian food ever... From the hospitality, attention to detail, ambience all the way to the quality of the food, you won't find a single fault! The cherry on top is the very reasonable price point compared to many other Italian restaurants. I definitely recommend this place to satisfy your Italian cravings if you're looking for that gourmet meal. Perfect for a date night! I took my partner here and we were shown to a private dining area where it was peaceful but not forgotten by the staff. This place gets a 5/5 from me and the missus!

We had dinner here on Saturday evening. The restaurant itself is not much. It's located inside a Club. The food is okay. Hubby got good choices. We ordered the steak and prawn risotto for mains and the steak was very nicely cooked to medium rare. It was also a very good piece of meat. I would highly recommend the steak dishes. The prawn risotto was nothing special. I found it bland. It needs more of a lift, like a wedge of lemon and herbs. It was cooked well, just needed to be jazzed up a bit. For entree we tried the garlic prawns and zucchini flowers. Both delicious, would recommend these dishes and will get them again. For dessert the popular is the Nutella mousse. It was good and moreish. All in all we had a good experience and the food we had is good value. Our waitress Alena was pleasant and very good. Will visit again. Worth to try if you want a good meal for good value.

This restaurant is a hidden gem. One of the best Italian restaurants I've been to. Would highly recommend the blue swimmer crab ravioli as it won dish of the year. The decor and atmosphere of the restaurant is also very welcoming

For what you pay, their food is really good value. It is hidden restaurants opposite to Priceline on York street. Their staff are very friendly, always recommending a good wine and food. The manager guy is generous enough. I tried this place twice. I will go back.

Went dinner on a weekday with group of friends. We each had an entree, main & drink which we enjoyed very much. From the start and at the entry Dean gladly and politely walked us through to the restaurant and introduced us to our waiter Goran who was fast and efficent the whole time.. Fantastic Chef, Fantastic Food and Fantastic Services. Wife book with Groupon special offer. The moment when we walk in, greeting with a very friendly smile and courtesy greeting. Once seated, water being serve immediately, menu was handover in a Flash Gordon speed. Set menu for us as 2 course dinner. Entree of Fried crump Squid was tender and delicious. Bruschetta with bread was freshly serve.Yum... after tasting the Entree , we have a feeling that the main course going to be something special. Beer and wine was also part of the deal. My main was medium rare eye fillet steak, come with baby potatoes and crunchy specially slice chips and paper sauce.Tender and juicy. Just right portion. Really delicious food. Wifey order grille Salmon with pumpkin and broccoli.. she love the freshness of the salmon and creamy sauce.We clean up the plate... 3 different waiters serve us. All of them are so friendly and keep asking how is the food.. service with a big genuine smile. Love it. Don’t forget we come with special deal on offers.normally they call us El -Cheapo... but we were treated like Vip in here from beginning to the end.... nothing cheap about the food and the service that we received... wait not finish yet.. the waiter keep coming to serve us with the big smile. Wow... my fav moment... desserts times, we order Mangoes Panna Cota... the best desserts I have ever tasted..smooth.. melt in the mouth, heavenly mild sweetness, not to riches.. with lemon sugar sauces, beautiful combo.just perfecto..Italian style cuppacino just right to finish off the desserts... wait .. wifey order Another desserts .. Pear cook with red wine and vanilla... hot cold combo was a sweet memory for this last dishes that we order. By the ti es that we pay the bills for the extra that we order.. the manager gave us the ViP card... realisticly we dont really need that card as we are already felt like Vip...all the way. Always a good sign when you get greeted with a warm smile and friendly waitress to guide you to your table. They were quick to set up the table, and spot on with the orders. Entrees were nice, but to be honest, I should have ordered a more traditional Italian meal when dining at this restaurant this evening. I ordered a 200gm steak, which wasn't very nice, due to a lot of gristle throughout the meat, and it was a relatively thin cut. The chips that came with it were very nice, and the mushroom sauce was very nice. But the beer was great with a nice range, some good wines (and sold by the glass for many drops, which is always appreciated), and the pizza we had was very good. The acoustics of the room make it very loud and sometimes hard to hear, but a good sign there were lots of people there. So in summary, this was quite a nice place for a meal, and great service, however be wise in what food you order.

My husband and I had a wonderful dinner here on Tuesday. The food was delicious, hot and served promptly. The garlic prawns were exceptional! All the staff were very welcoming, friendly and efficient. Could not ask for any more from a restaurant. Very good value too. Can't wait to go back!

The welcome was friendly and genuine, the atmosphere was good too. Plenty of room and the tables aren’t too close together. The decor is nice and the place is clean, not too ‘flashy’ but it’s food more than makes up for it. The service is amazing, the waitress walked us through the specials on arrival and quickly ordered and delivered drinks (great range of wine and beer list isn’t bad). The food was genuine Italian and my wife, my 10 yo son and I loved it. The food was served quickly and the staff were always looking to make sure we were happy. All in all Primi Italian was fantastic, great food and it’s not expensive. It’s located in ‘Club York’ (which is basically an RSL Club) but don’t let that stop you rushing in there for great food and service.

We stopped into the Club on our way to another CBD Italian Restaurant and noticed Primi Italian so decided to try this place instead of our original intended destination. It turned out to be a great decision. We experienced friendly service, great food at a reasonable cost and all set out in a room with a great layout and decor. Our table had Prosciutto San Daniele Pizza, Garlic Crust Pizza, Risotto Marinara and the Char Grilled Pollo.. all very tasty and served quickly. A great place to eat.

A Busy Thursday night dinner , foods were flying out so fast from the kitchen Not to mention, best pizza I didn’t expect from this place, my daughters would hardly could finish more than two slices of pizza from any where else but ending up ordering 3 pizzas and finished them all without any crumbs left. Staff were extremely friendly/professional. The Mare e Monti main was bang on, perfectly cooked steak and king prawn, really flavourful mash, and delicious sauce. Great poached pear dessert, and the coffee is excellent too. If you're looking for lovely, on point food that captures everything that Italian cuisine should be, then it certainly hits the spot - will be returning!

Lovely Italian restaurant in the city. It is located inside Club York, but no need to sign into the club if you are simply only dining here. I had Risotto Marinara and Lamb Shanks, and they were both delicious. Service was excellent too, I would definitely come back here again.

Primi Italian was a pleasant surprise! Don't let the entry into the club fool you, this restaurant is a beautiful place to be with a well though-out layout. The restaurant is styled well while still being a comfortable experience. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and they were never too in-your-face. The food was delicious and serving sizes were generous. I personally had the lamb shanks which fell off the bone easily and was delicious with the mash and sweet potato crisps. The food was great value, especially when using Groupon or other coupons. They offer a wide range of wines and beers to go with the food. It seems an appropriate dress code is something in between smart casual and business casual. Something like a buttoned up shirt, jeans, and dress shoes.

What a wonderful find. I never order pizza, in fact I am not a fan at all, but just couldn't pass up on the garlic, gorgonzola, prawn pizza and it was fantastic! My husband's calamari and chorizo entree was simply divine. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Really great restaurant tucked away in the back of an average looking club! The zucchini flower and vegetarian arancini entrees were quite good, though not amazing. However, our seafood risotto and lamb shank mains were excelled, cooked well and seasoned perfectly, with large portion sizes. Both mains and drinks are very reasonably priced, so we plan on returning again soon.

My mate and I visited previously when it was 'Amore', and the facelift was welcomed. We stuck to the Italian menu items and were pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes and quality. The cheese and meat platter was plentiful, the pizza was simple and very typically Italian (no crazy toppings competitors usually feature), and spaghetti marinara was well cooked and presented well (love the scallop in the shell). However, I found some prawn pieces a little overdone, but did not detract from the overall score. When it came to the desserts, the Nutella pizza was big enough for two, and the tiramisu was also simple and delicious. All alcoholic drink prices were more than reasonable. Lastly, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the location is quiet despite it being in an RSL-esque building and in the city centre. Didn't like the fact that you have to walk through the slot machines area but overall, a pleasantly well priced restaurant with generous portion sizes. Note, we paid less 30% due to a promotion, but will be stoked if the menu items were about 10-15% less advertised permanently.

Being a Coeliac, being able to have a range of gluten free menu items is a plus and then to cheerfully slightly modify dishes, a bonus. Thanks to the staff for a wonderful meal and attentive service. We will be back. Excellent. Good sized portions, attentive unobtrusive service. Reasonable prices.

Was given a groupon as a gift. Good atmosphere, staff were very accommodating and friendly! Entrees were very nice! Although we had found the lamb shanks to have a bitter taste in the sauce and mash potatoes bland. My tenderloin was requested medium rare and there was so much blood on the plate, my mash potatoes were full of blood; looked more like it was cooked rare. If I had purchased the groupon myself I would say it’s not really worth it. Especially because the drinks are limited in selection. Yet I do like how there’s no restriction on the food.

You would never imagine from the front door, but stepping in you will arrive to another dimension. The Italian hospitality, the finely selected wine list and the FOOD. Wow, such an exceptional experience. Be quick, as i am sure the prices and the availability will be limited soon, as more Italian food lover will explore the place. I had a herb bread and a primavera risotto with a bottle of pinot grigio. It was prescribed by my GP, so i obeyed (he said avoid meet for six weeks) Come and try!

I highly, highly recommend Primi Italian for a fantastic meal. We were lucky enough to get a table as a walk in and we're treated to the best meal we've had in a while. I could tell you what I had to eat but i'm sure everything on that menu was just as delicious.
